Geoff and Randy bring you information on local craft beers and UFO cases in an entertaining 30 - 45 minute podcast. If you love local craft beer and talking about UFOs, then this is the podcast for you. We are not beer experts nor are we UFO researchers however we are fans of both topics. Local, in our case, is Calgary, Alberta, which has an abundance of great craft breweries and fantastic beer. As for UFOs, we will discuss cases from around the world, focusing on countries other than the U.S. since there are already lots of great podcasts covering those cases. **A whiff of dates soaked in brandy on fresh baked bread, this beer is rather an anomaly. Despite its deep, almost purple hue, this beer is bright and candy-like, the alcohol masquerading as a tootsie-roll sweetness in the finish. A true winter treat!

What a name for a beer, "Nuclear Winter", but that is the name of a Russian Imperial Stout created by Banded Peak and Zero Issue Brewing both of Calgary, AB. Does it live up to its name? This is a big, bold, high-octane beer. When you take a sip of this beer, you know you have something special. The flavours are unmistakable, it has a nicely balanced bitterness which is a bit surprising at 90 IBU and with an ABV of 10.96%, this is not a session beer. For anyone living in or near Calgary, you have to try this beer, but drink responsibly, this one will get you into trouble.
In Kananaskis Country, SW of Calgary and straight west of Longview, AB, we have a 1967 daylight UFO sighting with pictures taken. Three friends were in the area near the Highwood Ranger Station, which is close to the junction of highways 541 and 940. They had been out prospecting for gold, a hobby, and were on their way back when they spotted an object which they thought was an aircraft coming towards them. One of them took a couple of pictures. This was back in 1967, no iPhones, no Photoshop. Dr. J. Allen Hynek of Project Bluebook fame investigated this case, as did investigators from the Condon Report.

For me it is a blind taste test, I don't know what the beer is and as you will hear, my ability to correctly identify the beer is less than perfect.
