What if you never recover?

Four main side effects:
1. The brain is hijacked from reality.
2. Mood disorders.
3. Compulsive masturbation/Porn induced erectile disfunction (PIED)
4. Escalation!!!

Let me pose this thought:  What if it isn't about quitting porn?
What if its more about a search for a better life?
"Life more abundant"

What would your life be like in 3-5 years if you took care of yourself like someone that you loved?
What if you truly loved yourself?

Prepare a 3-5 year vision and counter-vision.

S04E02 - PERFECTION

  • What is perfection?
  • As we begin, this is not for the person who has no desire to please the Lord.
  • God commanded Noah to be perfect

Genesis 17:1 KJ

  • By the way, he wass…

Genesis 6:8-9 KJV

  • The people of God are commanded to be perfect

Deuteronomy 18:13 KJV

  • Based on my understanding of myself, this seems impossible.
  • But then another clarity is made:

1 Kings 8:61 KJV

  • Keep our heart perfect?
  • Speaking of Solomon:

1 Kings 11:4 KJ

  • Asa’s heart was perf3ct:

1 Kings 15:4,14 KJV

  • I’m not going to spend a lot of time differentiating the world's definition of perfection.
  • The little child scenario.
  • It’s about the heart.
  • Building on episode 1, we must understand that it's the replacement of the stony heart, with the fleshly one.

Ezekiel 36:26 KJV

  • There is another famous prophecy:
  • You see, the people of God has been giving him things for generations
  • When he only wanted

Joel 2:13 KJV

  • He then prophecies:

Joel 2:25 KJV

  • Finally he says:

Joel 2:28-29 KJV

  • First you have to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 12:2 KJV

  • Well what if I had it and once backslid?
  • Aha, I have scripture

Titus 3:5 KJV

  • The answer to this question is a lot simpler than some want it to be.
  • They want to justify their actions due to a presumed impossibility.
  • But all things are possible.

Psalm 18:32 KJV

[32] It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

S04E01

  • I just want to not be a failure. I wish to have faith and not worry or be anxious about my income. I don’t want to mess up financial blessings. It has to be from genuine care for the customer, not from pride.
  • One of my favorite study helps is the Nave’s topical bible, guess what failure isn’t in it. God doesn’t talk too much about failure. God is not a failure. He has never failed. You’ve heard it but must believe it more than cliche.
  • Scripture tells us:

Psalm 73:26 KJV
[26]
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

  • It is true that we may fail.
  • Another passage says this:

Proverbs 24:16 KJV
[16]
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

  • The wicked man, convinced by the wicked one, lays in wait to destroy the dwelling place of the righteous. At every step and place.
  • This stems from the old fruit of the original enmity between satan and the seed of woman.
  • Evil hates an upright, righteous man.
  • (1.) The righteous man, whose ruin was expected, recovers himself. He falls seven times into trouble, but, by the blessing of God upon his wisdom and integrity, he rises again, sees through his troubles and sees better times after them. The just man falls, sometimes falls seven times perhaps, into sin, sins of infirmity, through the surprise of temptation; but he rises again by repentance, finds mercy with God, and regains his peace.
  • (2.) The wicked man, who expected to see his ruin and to help it forward, is undone. He falls into mischief; his sins and his troubles are his utter destruction.
  • If we must fall to be considered righteous, what are we getting out of it?

Romans 5:3-5 KJV[3] And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[4] And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[5] And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Philippians 4:13 KJV
[13]
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The very first thing you must do:

  1. Realize that pornography and masturbation is infidelity
    1. Realize that your spouse didn’t decide that
    2. God did:

Matthew 5:28 KJV

[28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

  1. Find an altar of repentance, remember Simon the sorcerer, he saw the gift of the Holy Ghost and wanted to buy it.

Acts 8:21-22 KJV

[21] Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

[22] Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

Acts 17:30 KJV

[30] And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Spouse must go through 3 major stages: Drs John and Julie Gottman

  1. Atonement
  2. Attunement
  3. Attachment

5 Ways to Repair and Begin the Healing Process

  1. Acknowledge the underlying cause
    1. Most began because of emotional disconnect
    2. Relationships during childhood manifest in adulthood
  2. Commit to quit
    1. Cut it off
    2. Establish boundaries together
  3. Honest discussions
    1. Helps each partner understand
    2. Communication is vital
  4. Rebuilding trust and healing
    1. Time
    2. Joel 2:25 KJV

[25] And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

  1. Acknowledge the needs of your partner
  2. Be vulnerable
  3. Seek time and activity together
  4. You have to be best friends again before you can be lovers
  5. Seek marriage counseling
    1. Not pastoral
    2. Not individual counseling
    3. Go to seminars and retreats
    4. Pay for it

Psalms 100:3

[3] He made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Please remember to Like, Share, Comment, You know the deal.

God Bless you Gentlemen.

Meeting last night was great.

Continuing on from yesterday. You don’t see results overnight.

  • Genesis 14 Ends with Abraham fighting a battle and winning spoils.
    • He gave a tenth to Melchizedek.
  • Genesis 15 begins “after these events”
  • Abraham is praying to God about insecurities in his life.
  • He’s fearful and unsure of his future.
  • Abraham prays (Vs. 8) How can I know that you will give me these things?”
  • Vs. 18 The Lord made a Covenant.
  • As with most covenants. There is a process of time between when God makes it and when He brings it forth. 2 chapters later. Genes 17.
    • Vs 2: I will set up my covenant between me and you.
    • Vs. 10 Every step you take, takes you deeper into the covenant and there must be blood.
  • Vs. 5: God changes your name. He changes who you are and what you are.
  • Vs 24: It doesn’t matter how old you are. You are never too old to get into a covenant.

Monday Night Accountability meeting

Hosted at the Venue (Pastor’s old home) for privacy.

7 PM, all men are welcome.

Monday’s for me

The image text say this:

Not seeing results? Feel like giving up?

Consider this: the LAST thing to grow

on a fruit tree….is the fruit.

You can’t workout or exercise for a week and begin to see results.

You can’t live for God for a week and see results.

You can’t abstain from pornography for a week and see result.

You must persist.

One of my favorite scriptures.

Matthew 10:22 KJV

[22] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

It is worth the wait.

Quitting Cold Turkey Isn’t Possible

Season 3: Episode 4

Find me on Instagram and Facebook

Email me at cody.d.thrash@gmail.com

Repentance.

What is repentance?

Genesis 6:6-7 KJV

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. [7] And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Remember, God defines things.

Peter said it in his message on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 3:19 KJV

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Repentance is an old testament thing and it's a new testament thing.

Its for us.

Repentance means cold turkey.

If God requires it, it’s possible

The only problem is your mindset.

You don’t believe God.

You don’t believe yourself.

You don’t have fear.

If you do, use it.

You don’t have purpose.

You don’t have love.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 KJV

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. [13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

How to Desexualize People - Season 3: Episode 3

A major problem with pornography is that it sexualizes people.

Makes them an object for sex.

How do we begin to desexualize them after years of porn use?

Romans 12:10 KJV

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Matthew 7:12 KJV

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Philippians 2:3 KJV

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.

First…Men are supposed to be sexually attracted to women.

Women are supposed to be sexually attracted to men.

The data suggests that men are more visual. I believe that's how we were created, so it is possible to admire beauty without sexualizing or objectifying.

Objectifying takes away emotion, desires, needs of the individual.

Make them brother or sister.

Become friends and learn to respect them.

Proverbs 18:9 KJV

1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

Isaiah 54:4 ERV

Why is Pornography So Prevalent?

  • The reason pornography is so prevalent
    • Accessibility
    • Affordability
    • Anonymity
      • Not an anemone
      • Not an enemy

Hebrews 4:12 KJV For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12 ERV God’s word is alive and working. It is sharper than the sharpest sword and cuts all the way into us. It cuts deep to the place where the soul and the spirit are joined. God’s word cuts to the center of our joints and our bones. It judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts.

Hebrews 4:13 KJV Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Hebrews 4:13 ERV Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. He can clearly see all things. Everything is open before him. And to him we must explain the way we have lived.

  • Where is the hope in that?
    • Conviction must be your ally.

**Psalm 119:11 KJV

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.**

**Psalm 119:11 ERV

I study your teachings very carefully so that I will not sin against you.**

Happy belated Thanksgiving!

Four reasons to join an accountability group:

  1. Goal Measuring and Deadlines.

  2. Are your goals realistic?

  3. Are you instituting the best method?

  4. The "Group mind"

  5. Motivation and Inspiration.

*1 Thessalonians 5:11

[11] Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as ye also do.*

*Group meetings make us productive and helps to keep goals.

Progress reporting. 3. Empathy and Solutions.*

  • Share concerns and fears, worries, difficulties.

  • Something bothering one is likely bothering another.

*Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

[9] Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

[10] For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 4. Camaraderie.*

  • No one knows your struggle better than someone who can admit that they've been there, or are there.

  • Not a competition, "I'm going up, You're going with me."

  • A brother's win inspires you.

George Jones Lyrics

I got a hundred dollars smokin' in my billfold

I know I oughta save it, but it's burnin' a hole

Right through my pocket and into my skin

Come Monday morning, I'll be broke again

It's finally Friday

I'm free again

I got my motor running for a wild weekend

It's finally Friday

I'm outta control

Forget the workin' blues

And let the good times roll

Monday, I'll be hurtin with my head in a vice

Tuesday, I'll be wonderin' if I'll ever survive

Wednesday and Thursday, I'll be slowly tunin' in

Friday, I'll be revin' up my motor again

2 Corinthians 11:14 KJV

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

SUMMARY

  • Relatively little is known about the early life of Jesus Christ.
  • He was born in Bethlehem, raised in Galilee and became a carpenter.
  • He spent three years ministering to thousands and declaring that He was the Christ.
  • Then He was condemned to die on a cross to bear the penalty for our sin.
  • He was buried, and after three days, Jesus rose bodily from the dead.
  • His resurrection is an historical reality.

Jesus Christ is the perfect image of God. He has divine characteristics and is superior to angels. On earth Jesus used divine power to heal and perform miracles. This led His disciples to accept His divinity and Messianic position. As God, He has authority over the earth. Jesus was human, too. Many of His experiences were similar to those you and I have today. He suffered and was tempted. Though He never yielded, this allows Him to understand when you and I are tempted. When we fail, He is willing to forgive if we ask. Jesus' unity with believers is shown by His willingness to consider us His brothers.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13

[12] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

[13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Timothy 2:15

[15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

[18] Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

[19] What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

[20] For ye are bought with a price: Therefore glorify God in your body, and in you spirit, which are God’s.
