My name is Sheri Briggs. I am a wife and mother of six children; his, mine, and ours. Two of my children are in heaven. One died prematurely at birth and my son Nathan died seven years ago in a free diving accident in Mexico. He was 26 years old.
I just finished my first book, which comes out November 8, 2022. It is called, " Relentless Pursuit; God's Gentle Guidance Amdist The Storm" This story paints a compelling picture of God's redemptive power. He took what was evil in my life, including a cult upbringing, being born into a alcoholic home, a brutal car accident and the loss of my son, and showed me that He is the perfect parent of His children, and gives a deep experience of His love in the midst of suffering.
I started a non- profit organization in 2005, called Bridge of Hope San Diego. The vision for Bridge of Hope, came from my experience as a single mother with my son Nathan. God took care of me and my son, and provided all we needed, as I stepped out and trusted Him. This is why we do what we do at Bridge; we give these practical items, love and community, in hopes that people will see the love of God and His hand and care for their situation and ultimately put their trust in Him.
Our mission is to strengthen families in transition. Transition can mean many things; families leaving homelessness, domestic violence, recovery, refugees, immigrants, families facing a crisis, disabled etc. We are located in one of the largest refugee resettlement areas in the country. In the span of 6.5 miles, there is over 100 dialects spoken. These refugees are incredibly resilient people who have suffered greatly in their homelands, and daily deal with war trauma, poverty, and being forced to leave their country and loved ones to start over again in a new land.
My hope is to inspire others and the next generation, to step out in faith where God calls them, and to trust God for the resources as He leads them to love and care for others. We have followed the example of George Mueller, the Father of Orphans, and chosen not to fundraise, but to trust God, that where He guides, He provides. Our organization has grown over the last 17 years, and is providing food for about 1500 families per month, approximately 500 families visit our clothing closet each month, as well as 40 families receive furniture and all household items each month. We work with over 70 agencies throughout San Diego County. We also have art, science, and tutoring programs for the local children in our community. We are located in the inner city of San Diego, and are a landing pad; a safe place for families from all over the world. We have hundreds of volunteers throughout the year, and continue to grow and meet the needs of those who are in need.
I also am a grief and trauma coach for those who have lost a loved one. I work mostly with mothers who have lost children. I meet with clients live or via zoom each week, and have grief groups as well. My hope is to have a retreat centre for families who are grieving and suffering with trauma and PTSD. I would love to be able to provide the opportunity, for those who are not able to afford it, to get out of the city and spend time in nature and quiet, which is.the kind of help I received, after the loss of my son.

With a degree in Electrical Engineering and a graduate degree focused on economics, DC has lived all over the world working as a scientist and a CEO, and he predicts that the story elements that underlie The Apocalypse Game book series are not only possible, but probable, adding credibility to the story whose roots are in the calamities that beset humankind today.
In 2015, DC moved to North Carolina where the road ends at the sea, to write The Apocalypse Game full time because he felt world events would soon create a demand for this story. So, are you afraid? Well, be afraid. Things might get much worse, as in his book series titled The Apocalypse Game.
DC Smith lives on the coast with his artsy wife, Angela, and monstrous German Shepard, Odin. Angela and I often sit in our rocking chairs watching the ocean from under the boughs of huge live oaks, drinking fine Pinot Noirs, discussing the news and our Catholic faith, while watching Odin chase squirrels. If you are a fan of squirrels, please don’t worry too much as Odin has never gotten closer than a few feet despite that the squirrels often torment him, making eyes at Odin and dancing on the exterior furniture just feet away from Odin while he is trapped inside with DC who is writing. The Struggles of Being a Worldly Christian", published by TBN. Topics: Depression, Grief, Addiction, Suicide, and more.”
Hellven: The Struggles of Being a Worldly Christian" was recently released by Trilogy Publishing, which is TBN's publishing company. I use this "Hellven" concept to help explain the state of Christianity in today's world as most of us so called Christians have conformed to the world and become hypocritical. We know how we are supposed to live, what is right, and what is wrong, yet we choose to believe that we can do what we want instead and just ask forgiveness later. "Hellven" is described as having the horns and the halo, or having our cake and eating it too so to speak, but we all know that is not the case. We know that is not the way God intends us to live. However, when we choose to get off the right path, we begin to face more and more life struggles, which are even harder to deal with when we are not living for Christ, but of this world.
After explaining the "Hellven" concept, the book then goes into some of the many struggles we face on a daily basis. There is a chapter for each of the struggles discussed and I give statistics, real life experiences and stories of things I have personally faced (including the loss of my son to suicide), and advice for dealing with these struggles. Some of the struggles/topics in the book are questioning faith, anger, profanity, worry, relationships, forgiveness, finances, life balance, stress, depression, grief, addiction, honesty & integrity, witnessing, obedience, and more. At the end of each chapter/struggle, I give 10 scriptures to help and encourage the reader to overcome that struggle when faced with it.
My goal is to get the message God gave me to share with the book out to as many people as I can, and get it outside of my family/friend circle. It is a very real and very relevant message for the current state of this world. I am looking for opportunities to share the book's message and I'm interested in being a guest on podcasts, radio shows, or speaking events, so I am just reaching out. I am already lining up a few spots and events and will be promoting them on all of my social media sites as they are scheduled.
