When we live through something hard, there can often be a sense of disbelief that it really was a hard or as bad as we are thinking it is. This leads us to try to see if validation of our experience is out there, as we aren't sure for ourselves due to the trauma of it all. So, we look to others, and comparison creeps in. Who are we to have it hard? Why not just plaster on a pretty smile and keep moving on? Well, it doesn't heal that way. We have to be real to heal. Listen in for some validation of your experience and encouragement that you can find healing from your pain.

Emotions and Feelings can feel good or bad, but they are simply messengers that are alerting us to our experience and environment, they can help us to identify our needs and take positive action steps to manage ourselves in ways that move us closer toward our goals as we respond rather than react.

View Details

In our Framework of being a human series, we are now on to the topic of feelings and emotions.  Often used interchangeably, they are actually two different things.  If you want to have more awareness for your mental health, to be able to understand yourself better and use what you know to have better relationships with others, understanding emotions and feelings is a good place to start.  When you can observe, identify feelings, and ascribe healthy meaning, you can reduce anxiety, anger, fear, and other uncomfortable feelings by effectively sharing them with others and acknowledging them in yourself for better self-care and self-management.

View Details

Anxiety can result when we compromise our inherent values system or fail to set effective boundaries.  Awareness of our values and self-care through self-management that can both set and honor our values and boundaries helps our mindset, our mood, emotions, and offers healthy action steps to be aligned with integrity through our parts of self.
