This session will focus again on mindfulness techniques, with a focus on techniques to quiet the mind and find inner peace and tranquility. We often find our thoughts racing, sometimes even faster than we can process, and mindfulness techniques can help to organize these thoughts and determine what is helpful and what can be let go or set aside. These techniques may be particularly useful for stress reduction, difficulty falling asleep, relaxation, and directing focus.

This session and the next session will shift our focus away from specific breathing techniques and will explore specific mindfulness techniques and methods to promote well-being through focused thoughts. This session will explore positive mantras, or positive words or phrases used during meditation to deepen self-love and positive thinking. These techniques may be particularly useful for improving mood, setting goals, and promoting self-confidence and positivity.

This session will continue our work with breathing techniques, focusing this week on breathing and meditation techniques to prepare for deep sleep. We will explore different breathing methods from last week’s awareness-promoting methods, and will explore breathing techniques directed towards calming, soothing, and grounding. These techniques may be particularly useful for stress reduction, relaxation, and sleep.

We will revisit last week’s study of natural habits and explore a few different methods of purposeful breathing to increase energy, awareness, focus, and concentration. This session will focus on the fundamentals of meditation: breathing techniques and mindfulness. This first session will not introduce any new meditation concepts other than asking participants to study their natural breathing and thought patterns. The following sessions will build on this, with the next two sessions focusing on specific breathing techniques, and the final two sessions focusing on specific mindfulness techniques.
