Part of my process in editing a manuscript is to read it out loud. Any slips in word choice for example become apparent to me when I hear them, even when I have read them over several times and seen nothing wrong. So while this is unlikely to be the finished product, enjoy the opening - as it stands - of The Third Daughter.
