The 2025 legislative session was supposed to end May 2—but it didn’t. From gender identity battles to the fight for private property rights, it became one of the most intense sessions in Iowa history.
In this episode, I sit down with State Representative Steve Holt, a 20-year Marine and one of the most respected conservative voices at the Capitol, to break it all down:
🔹 How Iowa became the first state to remove gender identity from civil rights code
🔹 The battle to ban DEI in public institutions
🔹 Why the Property Rights Bill nearly derailed the entire session
🔹 What happened to SF 180 (Conscientious Objection)
🔹 The truth about taxes, CO2 pipelines, and party infighting
This is a deep dive into how the sausage is made—and how everyday Iowans helped get the job done.

I first met Ryan Binkley in a Hotel Lobby after a Dallas County GOP meeting where he shared a compelling vision for America with a small group of republicans.
Out of all the candidates to agree to an interview with us, he was the first to reach out and was genuinely excited about making it happen.

In this informative episode Teri and I discuss the Oversite Committee hearing that she participated in at the capitol two weeks ago, along with four other Iowa mothers who shared their experiences with the convoluted and ineffective process of taking obscene material through the "reconsideration process".
We discuss the false narrative about Moms for Liberty being labeled as "Book Banners" and review audio of an IDOE hearing in which Teri was interrogated and then told that there was no objective criteria for allowing a book to be submitted into the school. Only the reconsideration process to remove it.

The greatest leaders know who they are and lead with their Why. You can to. It's the difference between being someone who leads through power and authority and someone who is a true leader that people are inspired to follow because they want to, not because they have to. During this talk I gave seven months ago at a Leading With Liberty event I share this wisdom with the audience. I had planned to talk about another topic, but not long before the event, my mother passed away. We were very close. She was an incredible woman and an important part of my life. If you've read my book THE WAY: A Small Book of Wisdom, you know that she was my first spiritual teacher and had a close relationship with Christ. While cleaning out her apartment my sister and I found this little green notebook sitting on a table by the chair she spent most of her time in. What I discovered in that little beat up green notebook inspired me to change my speech just a few days before the event. I hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you to discover and lead with your why. www.iowans4freedom.orgwww.myfreedomfactor.com This video was filmed and produced by our friend Kevin at Iowa Raw. https://rumble.com/c/IowaRaw

Se. Stands for Spiritual Episode. The Freedom factor is not only about medical freedom and freedom of speech and movement - it’s also about the most important freedom that one can hope to attain in life - which is spiritual freedom.
This series is an audio version of my best selling book The Way: A Small Book of Wisdom. The audio book hasn't been released yet but in light of the challenges that we have been facing and the stress that people have been experiencing, I wanted our members to be able to have audio access to the book.
Each week I will be releasing a portion of the book on The Freedom Factor. Part 1 will come directly to from the studio, parts 2 and 3 may be read to you from my podcasting desk. The Way is about learning to connect with that deep place of peace that resides in all of us. I hope you enjoy it and I hope to meet you someday along our paths to freedom…
If you have happen to enjoy this portion of The Way: A Small Book of Wisdom and would like a copy of the book you can purchase an ebook, paperback or a signed copy at www.oliverbardwell.com. Each week we will be sharing several chapters of the book on The Freedom Factor. Please subscribe and share it with your friends. See you next time.
Many Blessings,
Oliver

This is one of our most important interviews to date. Representatives Jon Jacobsen and Mark Cisneros have submitted a Medical Freedom bill to the State Government Committee, that will end employer mandates and vaccine passports in Iowa and they need our support.
The subcommittee meeting, which will determine whether or not this bill will pass on to committee, is going to be held next week, sometime between 1/31-1/4. There will be lobbyists there who oppose the bill. We need to show up and lobby for the people of Iowa.
If you would like to have medical freedom in Iowa again and would like to get a text as soon as we know when this subcommittee meeting is scheduled (we may only have 48 hours notice) text the word FREEDOM to 888-702-1791, we won't spam you and you can opt out at anytime.
Also follow this link State Government Committee and email and call the legislators on this committee to let them know how you feel about the bill. Here is a link to a draft of the Medical Privacy & Freedom Act .

I spent my evening remastering this 10/29/2021 youtube interview for our new podcast. It still has Incredible relevance. If you've heard it it's worth listening to again and if not, for the first time as we move into the January session.
In this interview, Senator Jim Carlin and I discuss the merits and the drawbacks of the Vax Bill, HF902, which passed through the Iowa house and the senate in late October.
We also talk about the impact that our work and influence has had in helping to get this type of legislation to the floor. When I say "our" I mean all of you freedom loving Iowans who show up. Dr. Meyer shares his liberating journey from leaving corporate medicine to building his own private practice by following his heart and God's plan.
When he was fired with "no cause" after refusing to stop treating his patients with an effective early treatment protocol, a protocol that was helping them to get well and enabling them to recover and leave the hospital, he felt a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
Dr. Meyer talks about the effectiveness of using inexpensive repurposed drugs, NAC and hyperbaric treatment to improve the health of his patients.
