Hello Everyone! I am Reshawn Edison, your host for this series. Cultivated Space reflects my Capstone project as an undergraduate student at the University of Denver Anthropology Department. I explore the reckoning between Indigenous identity In higher education by those who have a relationship with the university. As a predominantly white institution, the University of Denver has upheld an unjust climate within its structure and culture. DU has maintained a hostile academic environment that Native American scholars and their allies constantly struggle with. I highlight these forms of navigation at a collective level. Join me as we validate Indigenous Identity because our relations narrative is critical to making actual change. This project is dedicated to the University of Denver Indigenous community, our allies, and extended relatives. To all my Indigenous peers across Turtle Island in higher education: Our voice, experiences, and stories matter.
