Brooke McPoyle is a classically trained singer who learned an operatic style of breathwork at 12 years old. In college she played Division 1 golf, learning the intense effect of adrenaline on the nervous system. She quit the sport after college after feeling she didn't have enough control to handle pro tournaments. Dr. Dölen earned her M.D., Ph.D. at Brown University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University. Dr. Dölen is currently an Associate professor of Neuroscience and Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine. Her laboratory has discovered a novel mechanism that could account for the broad range of therapeutic applications for which psychedelics are currently being tested. Specifically, the Dolen lab has discovered critical periods can be reopened with the psychedelic drugs like MDMA (Nardou, et al Nature, 2019), LSD, psilocybin, ketamine, and ibogaine (Nardou et al, Nature 2023). Importantly, understanding psychedelics through this framework dramatically expands the scope of disorders that might benefit from adjunct therapy with psychedelics, an approach she has dubbed the PHATHOM project (Psychedelic Healing: Adjunct Therapy Harnessing Opened Malleability).

Stefanie Cohen’s healing path began in an effort to heal herself from a decades-long struggle with anxiety and depression. After years of being on and off various psychotropic medications, she finally gave up and began seeking help from the natural world. At the same time, studying and experiencing personally various therapeutic modalities such as Hakomi and Internal Family Systems, in which she holds a Level 1 certification. As a native New Yorker, Stuart’s career in the arts took a turn when he first experienced ceremonial plant medicine. Exploring the esoteric arts, he spent the past 13 years traveling the world, working with different plant medicine lineages – time on the Red Road (Native American Tradition), in Peru with the Shipibo and with the Columbian Tiatas. He served plant medicine for years helping people heal. Now he is sharing his lifelong wisdom with students and clients – working with plant spirits, teaching the Alchemy of Prayer and offering spiritual, shamanic and integration guidance in New York and around the world. In 2015, Stefanie started working with herbal allies in a ceremonial context and experienced the deep healing and vast intelligence the natural world offers.

At the same time, studying and experiencing personally various therapeutic modalities such as Hakomi and Internal Family Systems, in which she holds a Level 1 certification. She holds a certificate from the Synthesis Institute’s Psychedelic Practitioner Training, which offers a new paradigm for mental health care, and has completed the Rainbow Bridges School for Evolutionary Guides.

Bringing an infectious warmth and playful levity wherever she goes, Monica Rodgers is a tireless advocate for the full actualization of women, inspiring women everywhere that saying “YES to the MESS” is the missing link to self-love and personal liberation and awakening. Through The Revelation Project Podcast and group coaching programs, Monica guides women through their inner (r)evolution, from trance to transcendence, revealing the toxic myths of social conditioning and self-doubt in order to illuminate the magic and magnificence of our imperfect selves.

She believes that women can take action towards realizing our true potential only when we stop proving and striving to be who everyone wants us to be. When we reveal the truth of who we are, we return to our “original design” and with the practice of self-love and compassion, we become aligned, opening the portal into our divine purpose where true prosperity dwells. There has never been a more important time for women to reveal the truth of who we are as a catalyst for positive change in the world as the Divine Feminine returns in the Sophia Century.

In this episode, Michaela Carlin and Monica Rogers discuss …

  • How women have been enculturated to deny their divine feminine energy
  • The messages women receive to stay small and suppress their emotions
  • The cumulative impact of these messages as a “trance of unworthiness”
  • How women are taught to perform their gender rather than embody true feminine power
  • Monica's own awakening to her divine femininity
  • How a woman’s intuition is connected to her biological design
  • The journey “home” to feminine power as a journey back into the body
  • “Saying YES to the MESS” and learning to feel and articulate deep emotions
  • How circles of sisterhood have been disrupted and need to be reclaimed
  • Erotic power in relation to the hermetic principle, “the law of correspondence”
  • How true revelation happens outside of the comfort zone
  • How Monica helps women return to and awaken through their bodies
  • The sexiness of a man who is in touch with both the masculine and feminine
  • The invisible work of women
  • The difference between being a mother and embodying the mother archetype
  • The resentment the wounded maiden feels as she consciously or unconsciously feels unable to reach her full potential
  • How women are conditioned to hold onto our youth at any cost
  • Tending to the voices of the inner child and wounded maiden
  • Monica’s “triple wound” and how she hit bottom
  • Unresolved trauma showing up in parenting
  • Hearing the voice of the inner critic and understanding it as self abuse
  • The misperception that by staying small women are staying safe
  • Bringing in new practices, voices and tools to disrupt the trance of unworthiness
  • The “heroine’s journey” as a quest for wholeness

Aaron Paul Orsini is one of the world’s leading experts on the intersection of psychedelics and neurodivergence. In the years since being diagnosed autistic and ADHD, Aaron has had extensive firsthand experience with a variety of psychedelics including LSD, psilocybin, and MDMA, all of which helped him to heal, grow, and motivate him to publish three books on the topic — Autism On Acid, Autistic Psychedelic, and Introduction to Psychedelic Autism — in addition to co-founding AutisticPsychedelic.com, an online hub for autistic individuals, their family members, and the professionals who seek to support them amidst their intentional explorations with psychedelic medicines.

Since helping to establish the Autistic Psychedelic Community in March of 2020, Aaron has gone on to serve as an autism-focused psychedelic research co-author for University College London, and has also served as a diversity committee member for the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association. He presently serves as the lead instructor of the online “Introduction To Psychedelic Autism” course, and as a neurodiversity-affirming lecturer for Alma Institute and SoundMind institute, two of Oregon’s legal, M109-compliant psilocybin facilitation training programs. • Why someone diagnosed with autism might feel relief having experienced social and mental health challenges before diagnosis without understanding why
  • How autistic people are challenged by society's expectation that they mimic non-autistic behaviors
  • How psychedelics have helped Aaron understand his emotions more clearly and simultaneously process cognitive and somatic information
  • The clarity Aaron’s early psychedelic experiences helped him reach about how he was in “devastation thinking” without realizing that he could access calmer, more present states of consciousness
  • Championing mindfulness and psychedelics as preventative mental health care
  • Aaron’s first MDMA experience and the realization that he had been run by fear his whole life up until that point
  • How psychedelic don’t “cure” autism, but can offer new insights, experiences and perspectives that can be cultivated further
  • Enhanced somatic awareness as a way to develop a greater sense of safety
  • The effect microdosing LSD has on Aaron
  • How MDMA can provide an opportunity for an internal check in: What’s my lucid take on my life when my fear systems are offline? And what is possible when I feel I can forgive the worst harms?
  • How helpful it can be to cry to process deep emotions
  • Michaela’s experience finding Aaron’s work and getting involved with his content
  • The value of non-judgemental encouragement as the parent of an autistic child

The Psychedelic Mom Podcast is for anyone with an insatiable curiosity and a deep desire to heal, wake up, and live a wildly authentic life.

Psychedelic means “soul-revealing” and I, your host, along with special guests, explore how just about anything in life can be deeply psychedelic if approached in a soul-revealing way.

Through intimate and "psychedelic" conversation with leading experts, scientists, psychologists, visionaries, artists, entrepreneurs, mothers and fathers, psychonauts and newbies ... We'll dive deeply into myriad topics including consciousness, spirituality, cosmology, transformation, human optimization, biohacking, parenting, relationships, ancient wisdom, modern science, purpose and passion, and the path to freedom, wholeness, joy.

I open up about my own healing journey with earth medicines and psychedelics: the ups, and downs, my many different experiences with different medicines, and the modalities rooted in both modern science and ancient wisdom that support my transformational psychedelic work and path to wholeness.

I am a mother of four, an entrepreneur and visionary exploring the fertile edge of consciousness. I am a facilitator of transformational journeys globally and a certified spiritual director, psychedelic integration coach.
