As a follow-up to Nehemiah 9, we read in this chapter about the binding agreement (or covenant) Israel is making to God.

Why did God command a man gathering wood on the Sabbath to be stoned while Jesus and the disciples gathered food on the Sabbath in the New Testament without punishment?
How do we grieve sin? Is confession and grief over sin a pendulum swing (either we remain in grief too long or we are too flippant about it)? If so, which side do you find yourself on most often? If not, how should we reframe our concept of the discipline of confession and godly sorrow?
What is God calling you to offer Him to either show how much you love Him or to bring yourself closer to Him?
In the introduction to his commentary on the book of Numbers, Warren Wiersbe says, “Studying the book of Numbers can help us better understand how God directs His people, why being faithful to Him is important, and how we can grow spiritually in the difficulties of life.” Choose one of these benefits and think about how that would be valuable for you.
Questions to consider: 1. When you come to decision points in your life, how do you go about discerning God’s will for you? 2. Why are we tempted to think at times that repentance and new beginning are no longer possible? 3. How do you account for the fact that God expects us to keep our commitments to Him, yet He offers forgiveness when we fail to do so?
More instruction from God about being holy - through days of celebration and feasting, showing Him honor, and stewarding His land and the possessions He has given!
Included in today’s reading: other laws, warnings about various sins, punishments for sexual sins, and how priests must behave. Also at the end, a challenge to single, divorced, widowed and married people alike!
