I dissect this and all of the stress I've felt with this TBR. I talk about some ways I've begun to cope with this stress and maybe some ways you can too!

Nowadays, we see book clubs everywhere! With big names like Oprah and Reese Witherspoon hosting their own book clubs, these groups have become very mainstream. From schools to libraries to online spaces, book clubs are all around. However, it wasn't aways this way. Literary spaces have been known to be extremely exclusive, especially to marginalized groups. In a time where women were so commonly excluded from universities and philosophical circles, so often denied the right to education and were ridiculed for trying to engage in any type of literature, women still found means to access and engage with this literature in their own right as well as with other women. In this episode, we discuss all the ways women invented book clubs and revolutionized the literary world.

In this week's episode of the pod, I talk all about the importance of diversifying your reading! What this means, why it matters and some tips onto how you can diversify your own reading.
If you look at the books most commonly recommended to you through Booktube, Instagram or even Tiktok, how many of them are actually just casually written by authors of color? Queer books BY queer authors? Or books with disabled characters? How many of these books do you have on your tbr? And how many are you actually putting in the work to read?
It is so important that we are make an effort to read diversly, not only for ourselves, but also for so many other people who want to find themselves in books. So, in this episode we discuss all of this + some ideas as to how you can diversify your own reading.

Why do you read the books that you read? How did you discover you loved the books you do? Where do you find these books? Everyone’s answers to these questions will be different. Our reasons for this all come from our own experiences with reading. It’s such an interesting concept. So I decided to explore it.
Every Monday on this new season of Bella’s Bookish Banter, we’ll be joined by a new guest ranging from avid readers, to book bloggers to people who read a book once a year, in order to explore why this is. I’ll be asking them about the best book they've ever read, how they found it and why they consider it to be so. In this series, we’ll explore all the different ways books can influence and affect people and how even their own experiences influence their perception of a book. Everyone perceives books differently, we all enjoy reading different things but all of those opinions are just as valid as the next. On this season we’ll dive into all of the reasons for that and more. Stay tuned!

By giving everyone the opportunity to access literature while also providing so many more services, libraries are pretty vital to us and you should go support your local library! On this week's episode of the pod, I want to take a moment to appreciate all of the books that have made me fall in love with reading over and over (and over and over and over again...)
From ages 6, when I first learned how to read, all the way up until now, where I even have a podcast to discuss my favourite books, I'm going to be looking at every single book that has kept me up into the early hours of the morning reading, keeping me flipping through pages, falling in love with the worlds within and encouraged the love for for reading that I have today.

Eliza Quan is the perfect candidate for editor in chief of her school paper. That is, until ex-jock Len DiMartile decides on a whim to run against her. Suddenly her vast qualifications mean squat because inexperienced Len—who is tall, handsome, and male—just seems more like a leader. When Eliza’s frustration spills out in a viral essay, she finds herself inspiring a feminist movement she never meant to start, caught between those who believe she’s a gender equality champion and others who think she’s simply crying misogyny.
Amid this growing tension, the school asks Eliza and Len to work side by side to demonstrate civility. But as they get to know one another, Eliza feels increasingly trapped by a horrifying realization—she just might be falling for the face of the patriarchy himself.

“Romance books are not real reading! They're too predictable! They're just fluff! ” We’ve all heard it before. Romance as a genre is so often discredited, referred to as badly written, mindless fluff and labeled as not “real literature”. In this weeks episode of the pod, I talk a bit about the romance genre, explore why its not seen as a “legitimate form” of reading and the implied misogyny behind that mindset.

For some people, annotating may be a controversial topic. But annotating is one of my favourite things in the entire world. It makes my books way more special and personal to me and I find so much comfort in that. In today’s episode, I discuss all the ways annotating has helped me, why it can be hard to start sometimes but why you should anyways and talk about some of the ways I annotate books. So stick around if you're interested!

On this weeks episode of the pod, I talk about one of my favourite artists of literally ever, Conan Gray! I love Conan Gray, but I also LOVE books, and figured it would be so fun to mix the two! I've carefully picked out book recommendations based on your favorite Conan Gray song, and go in depth about why I chose each book for that song (ft. some of my incredible singing). So, if you're a Conan Gray fan too, then stick around and maybe find a new favourite book! If you're not a conan gray fan... that's fine, stick around anyways!___Follow and support the podcast on my socials: @bellasbookishbanterInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/bellasbookishbanter/Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/149011527-bella Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.ca/bellasbookishbanter_pod/
