Registration is officially open for the 2023 Gingerbread House Contest! This year marks our fourth annual Gingerbread House Contest. Every year, the Gingerbread House Contest brings community members of all ages together to showcase their creativity in the spirit of the holidays. Gingerbread houses are displayed downtown during the month of December.

The Handmade Music School was awarded a Community Impact grant from Virginia Commission for the Arts to produce a project called Harmonic Heritage: Recording Southwest Virginia’s Living Musical Traditions. Harmonic Heritage is a recording project preserving the voices of elders singing traditional Appalachian music in Floyd County, Virginia.
