2020 was a challenging year in several aspects. Business, Life was hit hard by COVID, and education wasn't any different. Online education created many challenges for parents, children, and teachers alike.
I invited a special guest for this episode to talk about this year's ups and downs, the challenges, feedback, and the verdict of this year regarding education. I was even curious about how he predicts 2021 after such huge changes in the educational system.
And who can be a better partner in such a demanding topic as the principal of Paulding Middle School in the City of Arroyo Grande, the Father of two teens, a Parent coach with 2 decades of school/parenting experience, and the author of the book "Connectteen":

It means that you are "moving" inside the game and you see everything just as with your own line of sight. That makes things difficult and exciting at the same damn time! It's raw, it might be harsh, some of you may find it disgusting.
But the fact is FPS games are here since 1973! WOW!
Of course, the first "renaissance" of FPS games was in 1992 with Wolfenstein 3D, and since then FPS became unstoppable first on PC in offline then later online. If you see your child playing an FPS, shooting at something that doesn't mean instant that he will turn into a psychopath later.
If YOU can handle the games in a way you understand them, you can have much much deeper conversations with your child where it's YOUR responsibility to make for him/herself clear what is reality and need to talk about real life and the consequences!

Most of the parents look at videogames as they were pure evil. The feeling of alienation and frustration comes from 2 different elements: memories, and misconceptions. Anger and frustration are fed by memories from past experiences. When you approach your child who is playing your "feeling library" search point out immediately towards anger, your mind starts producing "signs" towards your body.
That's why you probably feel a stomachache or headache. So you approach your kiddo with a heightened emotional state. You're going full "red alert" before saying or doing anything else. And before you realize it, you are blaming that "stupid" game again.
Why are we doing that?
Because of misconception, as we read an article about somebody who did terrible things, or ended his life, that person also played video games! Video games caused all those things! We grasp the outdated patterns of parenting and going into a fight with our children, hoping they will understand this one day.
We might have won the fight but already lost the battle for love and deep connection with them in the future. Later we are wondering why they wanted to leave the family nest so early and eager... A few years later, we recognize the visits from our kids are decreasing. First, it's just the number of phone calls, family dinners. And only 1-2 events are left a year when we tend to see them again...probably on Christmas and/or funerals. Do you want to have this future for your child and yourself?! If not, click on the link and start your journey!

In the 21st century, blaming virtual games is a bit hypocritical.
Let's face it; you're probably reading this article on your mobile! I suspect that in all 98% of cases, you make check payments, bank transfers, corporate and personal mailing, reading news via your mobile phone.
Right?
Then why do you hate a segment of virtual life so much?
Out of fear, maybe?
bserve how you talk to your child, how you try to raise them!
Do you realize, you speak to them as your parents did to you by chance?
Unfortunately, these patterns of parenting from the past are outdated and ineffective today!
The same principle applies to a relationship as well! Is your boyfriend playing like for hours? And you are sick and tired of it more so you have some second thoughts of breaking up?
