Welcome to this very special episode of the Witchcast., beautiful soul! In the sonic sacred circle this one-off episode features magickal friends reconnecting, reminiscing, and roaring with laughter. Lucy Cavendish and Fiona Horne have known each other since the VERY early 90s – and in this episode the Witchcast celebrates the release of Seawitch’s new album, Well of Spells, a melodic, hardcore celebration drawn straight out of Fiona’s Book of Shadows.

Fiona chats with Lucy about the new album, lyrics, songs as spells, hilarious memories, love stories, trauma and bonding, mutual moments of fandom and generating energy, exchanging energy, and being pure energy.

It's a funny, loose, off-the-script conversation between two long-time friends and witches, and it will have you cackling this Beltane and Samhain.

Songs featured from Well of Spells include:

  • Esbat
  • Force
  • Memento Mori
  • Artemis Blue

They’ve been made fun of, laughed at, scorned and ignored - but the elementals of the great beneath shape the minerals, infuse our food with earthy, wholesome energy, tend and care for the wounded animals, and help we humans find our way to more healthy and prosperous lives. That is, if we stop treated them less seriously than they deserve.

Who is Lucy exploring in this episode of the Witchcast? It is none other than the much-maligned Gnomes, the wise Kings and Queens, the Elders of the deep earth, whose healing powers and ancient knowledge is needed now as we move into times of transition for Mother Earth. Lucy then shares news of historic and haunted pubs, where you can drink spirits along with, ahem, the spirits, and gets excited about the British Museum’s wondrous new exhibition celebrating the Famine Divine, in Her myriad manifestations throughout time and culture.

Lucy also unpacks curious listener's magickal questions, offers insightful advice, and ventures into the ways in which pop culture events are embracing the mythic and the occult. Featuring Pagan songs by artists as diverse as Wendy Rule, Suzanne Vega along with Eric Burdon and War, this is a beguiling episode that takes a very fresh look at beings both fabled and fabulous.

Welcome to the sonic sacred circle, Witches! Blessed Be!

Songs: Wendy Rule: Artemis
Suzanne Vega: Predictions
Eric Burdon and War: Spill the Wine

Blessings and welcome to you all, beautiful souls. In this episode of the Witchcast, Lucy watches (through tears) Agora, a film about Hypatia of Alexandria, a legendary Pagan (or was she?) scholar and teacher accused of Witchcraft, murdered by Christians in ancient Alexandria. Called by some the first Pagan martyr, the Witchcast explores Hypatia's brilliance, her neo-Platonic philosophy, her discoveries, and the catastrophic rift between pagans - or polytheists - and Christians in the late Roman Empire. Lucy analyses the film’s depiction of this remarkable woman, searching for truths about the Alexandrian age, the dreadful loss of the knowledge within that city's famed Library, and how one bad bishop can change the course of western history. Then, well. You can see there is a huge rediscovery of Kate Bush taking place at the moment. Babushka tik-toks, Withering Heights dance days and the revival of Running Up That Hill - or a Deal with God, thanks to Stranger Things. But did you know that one of Kate Bush’s songs is Magick in practice? Lucy shares a unique song from Kate Bush that is actually a true invocation of four Archangels that you can play to protect and shield yourself. Kate had an enduring relationship with a spiritual healer, whose crone-like wisdom and voice appears throughout her album, the Red Shoes. We move then to Lucy offering readings for listeners, with some very tricky questions answered by the cards, PLUS a reading for YOU. All this, and gorgeous pagan music - this is a powerful episode.

Thankyou to Shayne, to Georgia, and to all the supportive and generous Patreon Family for their ongoing support, which is immensely appreciated.

One man stands perfectly still upon the stage, filling the theatre with a sense of the profound, the past, the deeply sacred. There is no banter, no breaking the ambiance of ceremonial space alongside brother and sisters band members, all still and sombre as ancient stones. From them, something pure - the songs of the world - pours out. He creates music with the atmosphere, bones and birch groves and rivers. He plays traditional instruments that are the same our ancestors called up the Gods with. He sings of a deeper, wilder, truer part of ourselves, of runes and sacred places, of forests and resting places and the older Gods. His music made the TV show Vikings come to authentic life and his cameo in that show is iconic. After twenty years of playing, Einar Selvik's compositions, along with his band, Wardruna, have finally and justly found world-wide acclaim, which he seems not terribly interested in, because his purpose is creating something raw, old and true, so we can remember who we are. Yes, (a very nervous!) Lucy and Einar Selvik talk of animism, the ritual aspect of a live Wardruna performances, the beauty of longing, black metal, white ravens, white stags and the honesty of presence. Featuring three tracks from First Flight of the White Raven, this is a beautiful, wise, honest sharing from an amazing composer about our humanity, memory, our connection to Nature, creating what is needed, and being true as a performer. Wardruna have just released a new album that was all recorded live, and are touring Europe and The United States. Do everything you can to experience them, starting with this conversation, beautiful Witches.

Thankyou so much to Shayne Brian and Chris Maric for working so hard to set up this interview over and again - we did it!

Thanks to Shayne as always for his beautiful production work, to Georgia for the lovely imagery, to the incredible Patreon community who keep the Witchcast flying on her broomstick! Blessed be, beautiful souls and welcome to the sonic sacred circle that is the Witchcast. In this episode Lucy explores the impact of Scottish Apology to Witches, and shares the very eerie faery tale of the Reverend Robert Kirk, the preacher who was taken away by the fae. The author of The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns and Faeries, this reverend has had a profound influence on the relationship between humans and faerie beings. Lucy untangles the twisted history of his abduction and legend, and why both had such a profound impact on Witches and elementals alike. Then we move to song! Your voice is one of your most sacred and powerful magickal tools you could have, Witch - yet throughout history, women’s voices have often been forbidden, encapsulated perfectly by the demonisation of the mermaid and her song. Lucy offers ways to reconnect with your own powerful Witch voice, and sing once again the song of your soul. In between there is a lot of gorgeous pagan music, little moments of magick and whimsy, and most of all a warm and accepting magickal circle for you to share!

With thanks to the most excellent producer, Shayne Brian, to Nordic Daughter for the use of We Are One, to Georgia for beautiful visuals, and to all of the ever evolving Patreon family whose support helps keep the Witchcast on her broomstick and flying high!

Welcome to Valhohl! Well, maybe not right now, but the Northman may be as close as we can get to re-experiencing a past life in pagan times. In this episode of the sonic sacred circle, Lucy drives far far away to see the Northman, and come back kind of overwhelmed with beauty, brutality, and time travel to a truthful, raw, awe-inspiring Pagan past. She shares some of the powers and attributes of the deities and stunningly accurate rituals featured within the epic film by the amazing Robert Eggers. Explore Freyr, Hel and the Norns with Lucy, and discover primal forms of Witchcraft and Magick from Viking history, including Seidr, and unearth the energies of the Valkyries.

Find out the witchy truths behind Friday the 13th, and why it’s a wonderful day for Witchy people! In this week’s episode Lucy walks the silver path of the Birch Tree, tapping into its ethereal qualities, healing powers, unique medicine and sharing some of the amazing folklore that has endured for thousands of years about this sacred tree. Lucy shares an abundance of pagan news, including how seance art and channeled paintings have taken over the world of high Art, whether blood rites are ever okay, and insight into a traditional pagan chant’s new life in pop music. Blessed Equinox, beautiful souls, and welcome to your world between the worlds! Join Lucy Cavendish this week as she takes you through her guide to scrying, shares two powerful spells - one to stop rumours and bitchcraft, the other a broomstick spell to sweep away any energy, feelings or situations that needs to leave right now! Described as “the maddest fairytale film ever made” Tale of Tales is a fantasmagorical retelling of three ancient Italian Faerytales from the perspective of Maiden, Mother and Crone. Mad? Well, it is, but in the best possible way according to Lucy, who explores the film, Faerytales and why they mean so much to so many Witches. She also offers up her favourite Faerytale films - and shares why they resonate so much.  If you’ve ever been enchanted by these long-ago tales and their beating pagan hearts, this episode of the Witchcast is a treasure trove of witchy wonders and surprising discoveries of their modern day relevance. Lucy turns the cards for three listeners with poignant questions - what will the Oracle cards reveal? And as always this episode of the Witchcast features Magickal songs from an eclectic mix of bewitching troubadours, bards and sonic storytellers.

Once upon a time, when we could all travel the magickal lands of the world, many a pointy-hatted pilgrim would wind their way to a sacred site right in the middle of the Royal Arcade in Melbourne…Spellbox. A Witches home-away-from-home, Spellbox was a magickal store that is all red velvet curtains, beautiful besoms adorning colourful walls, exotic scents, lovely sounds, and essential ingredients for spllecasters spilling off the deep antique bookshelves. It’s all just a little Gothic, very beautiful and utterly enchanting. The creator of this iconic space is Danae Moon Thorp, whose personal vision, creativity and courage gave so many Southern Hemisphere Witches a glorious refuge in the heart of the city - a place to remember that they were indeed magickal. Now Danae Moon Thorp has written and published her very first book - Becoming the Witch: The Art of Magick. Its prose is lyrical and poetic, the information sound and true, and it is an absolute joy to read. Of course, it’s also beautiful. I could not wait to have Danae on the show to speak about creating Spellbox, the ups and downs of the 20-year-history of this landmark boutique store for discerning Witches, and the stories and spells behind the writing of her first book. In this soulful conversation, Danae speak about the link between Imagination and Witchcraft, how to rekindle the fire of your wild mind and spirit, and ways to reimagine your craft, activate your spells, and become a Witch inspired and thus a Witch free. During tough times, the connection between your imagination and your spirit is utterly essential - please join us for a heartfelt conversation full of beauty and wisdom in our sonic sacred circle. Oh - and we play some of Danae’s fave tunes - they are AMAZING! And, given the bruising times we are within, Lucy offers a Blessing from the Morrighan - for Peace as High as the Sky…Peace Eternal. Blessed Be, beautiful souls. And may peace be with us all.

Blessed Witchmas, pagan people! Welcome to the final episode of the Witchcast for 2021 - though there may be a couple of surprise specials popping up over the break! It’s been a wild ride of a year, but here in the sonic sacred circle you can find an enchanted sanctuary full of magick, great vibes, fascinating witchy stories and uplifting songs to make your pagan heart sing. For this episode, Lucy dives into the pagan origins of Christmas, from Krampus to Mithras and very unseemly medieval revelry. Then it’s all about the occult symbology of The Green Knight, a new(ish) film by David Lowery that some are calling a masterpiece. The film centres in many ways around the tension between Christianity and paganism - and it’s set at Christmas! It’s a rich, dream-like meditation of a film, packed with magickal symbols and Lucy breaks it all down - including on how the pentacle represents five sets of soooo many witchy and knightly values. Then there are readings for you all - right before Lithmas (Litha and Christmas) so enjoy that little gift - better still, get your cards out and gift yourself a reading, witchy one!

Songs are The Feast of Krampus by S.J. Tucker, the Holly and the Ivy by Loreena McKennit and Have Yourself a Faerie Little Solstice by Marya Stark.

The Witchcast acknowledges the Yuin people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Witchcast is recorded, and pays respect to their Elders past, present and future and their connection to land, sea and community. The Witchcast extends that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Lucy wants to thank and praise all the Patreon supporters who are legends, one and all; the producer of the Witchcast, Shayne Brian, for his magick week in week out; Georgia Allison for the beautiful imagery;  and each and every person who listens - You are loved. Never forget - your magick is real!

In this week’s episode, beautiful soul, you get to spend time in the sonic sacred circle with one of Lucy’s favourite Witches - the indomitable, wise and wild Hollie BakerBoljkovac. She’s a Witch, a counsellor who specialises in trauma and transitions, a black belt in martial arts, an archer, an ancestral therapist and the brilliant creatrix of the essential Lunation Annual Planner. Lucy and Hollie talk about her life as a renegade Witch carving out her own path on the planet - and how a near-death experience took her right to the edge - and what she learned from that time in the place in-between. This is a vibrant, very funny, laughter-filled and deeply serious conversation with a woman of raw power and presence. Listen in, and feel the energy and presence of this extraordinary Witch. Songs are glorious, re-energising and heart-healing.

They are:

Merry Meet Witchy people! In the Southern Hemisphere we are approaching Litha, the Summer Solstice or the Feast of the Faeries, and so Lucy put together a special blessed being on how the faeries can connect with us, and help us with our wellbeing. There’s Cauldron answers to questions about when the veils thin, the process of Oracle Card Publishing, and why one listener had a special interaction with Dragonfly and Bee. Lucy brings news of the Japanese tradition of Doll Funerals - and of why dolls are so often considered to be alive and ensoulled. There’s an update on the forthcoming the forthcoming Scottish Apology to the Witches of the Burning Times, and why celebrities (looking at you, Jennifer Aniston and Paris Jackson) starting covens and going public with their Witchcraft gets so poo-pooed - when it may not be a bad thing at all. There’s brilliant music in this episode - rock out to Amulet by Seawitch (the lyrics - Fiona Horne, you are a word witch indeed), and be enchanted by not one but TWO Wendy Rule songs to take you far away from the mundane and into the realms of the elementals. It’s a joyous Witchcast this week, magickal ones, and Lucy would LOVE to have your company in the sonic sacred circle. If you are feeling love for the Witchcast please do leave a rating or a review on iTunes, or Spotify, or wherever you get the Witchcast. It make a huge difference - very grateful for the support.

Merry Meet beautiful witchy people. In this moving episode of the Witchcast Lucy speaks with Ngarigo Buhlung artist Sal Lavallee about their precious bond with the Elders, their Yuin ancestry, the spirits of the land, and Country. Sal is an activist, an artist, a healer, meditation teacher and a Witch who has walked the very edges between life and death. Throughout this beautiful, heart-opening interview Sal shares deeply of the power and magick of that connection to Country and to Language. Their deep listening to the spirit people, insights into ritual on land and how to go about this with respect, and how their witchcraft, magick, ancestry and art all interweave with and nourish each other is an inspiration.

I want to acknowledge that Sal’s grandmother, Rae Solomon-Stewart, passed away after this interview was recorded. Sal’s beloved Nan is spoken of throughout the interview. It is with deepest respect that the passing of this Elder is felt and recognised.

Please note that people who are passed are spoken of in this interview.

Interwoven throughout are gorgeous songs by:

S.J.Tucker - Outlast

Miiesha - Caged Bird

Elaine Silver - By the Earth

Acknowledgements and heartfelt thankyous to the Patreon supporters who keep the Witchcast’s heart beating - could not do it without you, dear friends. Thankyou greatly to the Sponsors, Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing.

Witches, you know how the pentacle has become Hollywood shorthand for evil, when it’s not? You know how people still think we’re suspect because, well, movies? Turns out it’s not just magickal folk who get worked over by Tinseltown. Even the greatest of Gods and Goddesses can get misrepresented. The Trojan Wars really begin with a golden apple, a disgruntled Chaos Goddess and a very strange beauty contest between Hera, Aphrodite and Athena. That. and the love of the most beautiful mortal woman in the world was behind the horror of this awful War, with its plagues, sacrifices, and terrible glory. The Greek Myth, through its exploration of Achilles, half man, half God, the formidable warrior driven to madness through an indescribable loss, gives us a story of redemption, and a battle that is as much between the Gods as it is between the Greeks and the Trojans. But what happens to the Gods when Hollywood gets its hands on mythic history? Well, essentially they get some things kind of right, and the rest… is a bit of a mess! Lucy does a deep dive into one of the biggest films of the noughties,  discovering the differences between how the Greeks felt about fate, and the way this Hollywood blockbuster portrayed destiny, diminished the role of priestesses, sorely neglected the Gods, and changed the sexuality of one of the greatest warriors and demi-Gods ever. Because…that’s Hollywood. But don’t worry - this episode offers a whole lot about what the Gods and Goddesses did do, and why, when they chose to take sides in human affairs.Featuring music by Princess Nokia, Junip and Runfell, this episode also features Lucy reading from her new Oracle Card deck, Into the Lonely Woods.

Thankyou as always to the gorgeous Patreon supporters, all of whom are the lifeblood of the show. To the sponsors, Kohli Tea, Blue Angel Publishing, and Primal Healing, so much love. Ah, Witches, in the Southern Hemisphere, THAT time is upon us - that of Beltane, spring fever, flowers in the hair, staying up late and finding and making love, love, love. Blessed be, and welcome to the sonic sacred circle, beautiful witch-souls! In this episode of the Witchcast, Lucy answers questions about the varied and many mysteries of the Goddess - she of 10,000 faces. How can we call on her, connect more deeply with her, work with her to find the magick that lies within us all? There is lots of tasty witchworthy news, including a gorgeous new magickal book from the creator of a legendary magickal space in Melbourne, a calming deck of small but powerful cards by your host, and an update on the very strange goings-on at Scotland’s Boleskine Manor, a place of magick and rumour that is being reclaimed from its ashy ruins… but will the local community allow its Magicks to rise again? Lucy pays tribute to Andrea Meyer, a Pagan music pioneer taken too soon during the recent tragic slayings in Norway, and offers up a powerful spell that will connect you with your ancestors - those of your bloodline, and those of your spirit line. Meeting them, and receiving their wise counsel can take us into a more deeply potent, prayerful place this lifetime - and it may even help you connect with some of your own past life selves.

Brimming with soulful Pagan music, this episode is a cauldron of wisdom for the witch whop dwells deep within us all.

Welcome to the sonic sacred circle, beautiful Soul. Are you ready to rediscover a potent Witches Brew? Once upon a long ago, magick and science could not get their hands off each other. Now, hundreds of years later, we’ve kind of been floating in our own worlds, avoiding each other like we had a bad break up (which science and magick kinda did.)  Lucy has a bit of a mission to help these worlds need to re-connect, as they once did in the times of the great Alchemists. So, to that purpose, Lucy wanted to speak with one amazing Witch - a Witch who’s a scientist, a herbalist, naturopath and an artist - her interests and talents are wild and kaleidoscopic.

Kellie Pixie Ashton and Lucy chat about the relationship between Witchcraft and the Scientific Method, what science can bring to our Craft, and what magick can bring to the path of science in return. It’s a full-blooded discussion about how these two related worlds  - hello, alchemy! - became so very estranged, and why we need to re-entwine them within our lives so we can live with more wisdom and a more holistic approach to, well, practically everything. Witchcraft and Science ARE a potent brew, and more compatible than most magickal and scientific folk may know!

As always, heartfelt thankyous to the Patreon people who get this podcast out of Lucy’s head and into your ears each week, and to the glorious sponsors Kohli Tea (witches brew!) Primal Healing (shamanic wisdom) and Blue Angel Publishing (creativity is a part of the Craft!). Blessings to to sound Wizard Shayne as he navigates fresh waters on his life’s journey, and to ALL of you who listen.

If you would looove to help Lucy out please do leave a review OR rating at iTunes, Spotify or iHeartRadio - wherever you listen to your podcasts. And if you really, really want to support The Witchcast, please consider popping on to Patreon and signing up to become a Patron or Matron. Merry Meet and welcome to the Witchcast, beautiful soul. This episode Lucy falls down the rabbit hole that is the eye-opening (haha!) limited Netflix series, Brand New Cherry Flavor. Based on a 90s cult (and occult!) novel, Lucy teases out the real magic and relevant witchy themes within the dream-like show. From timing of spells and magick, to La Limpia, a traditional Central American ceremony to cleanse energy, binding, the idea of spirits body hopping, the trouble with cursing (and why it can lead to energetic entanglement) and the importance of ancestral protection for ALL of us., you’ll discover why the show has something to share with us witchy folk. The show is one wild magickal ride, and Lucy’s prepared to take it - and loved it. Surreal, confronting (kinda) and beautifully shocking, it’s unlike anything since, oh, David Lynch was at his peak. Then, Lucy answers questions for you with The Turn of a Card - including questions about other realms, energetic boundaries when our psychic abilities switch on, and someone on the other side is present to help one person with an important question about which of two paths to take. Working with the Oracle of the Hidden Worlds, this is a very magickal reading session, including a card pulled for YOU from Blessed by the Goddess…Listen in to receive your message, bathe in the energy of the sonic sacred circle, and hear amazing pagan music by Wendy Rule, REM (yes, really!) and Agnes Del. This is a shining episode - full of mysteries and wonders, and the courage to face the shadows we all have within.

Thankyou, always and forever, to the Patreon Family, and to the sponsors, Kohli Tea, Blue Angel Publishing and Primal Healing. Check them all out!

Songs are Elemental Chant, by Wendy Rule, from her album The Wolf Sky

Low, by REM

The Curse, by Agnes Del, from Aventine

And if you loved the show, please leave a review on iTunes or Spotify or iHeartRadio - every single word you write has magic and the power to help grow the show!

Thankyou and brightest blessings!

In the Southern Hemisphere it is springtime, and Lucy celebrates the rising energy this episode with an episode steeped in shellwork we can all partake in safely and surely, artists who’ve embodied the sacred nature of Mother Earth, and answers lots of your questions about the Oracle Tarot, online lessons, and more. There’s also a poem Lucy wrote to honour the rising of the Maiden, Mabon acknowledgement, a protection chant, a dream pillow to make (it is EASY, and it will make you sleep a whole lot deeper, too) as well as a fascinating peek into the magick within Shakespeare - yes, seriously and literally. Even the Globe Theatre is based on sacred geometry. Oh - and if you’re looking for a little kickstarter for a season of success and prosperity, for Mabon or Ostara, Lucy offers up a simple spell to bring in good future and fresh starts!

There is gorgeous, celebratory music by Faun, Tracy Chapman and Gehen. Come, join the sonic sacred circle and feel your energy rise up, wherever you are on this beautiful blue and green planet. Be it Mabon or Ostara where you are, all are welcome to the circle every episode of the Witchcast.

Heart wide open thanks to Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing, and huge hugs to all the Patreon supporters who support the show every single moon cycle. If you would love to become a sacred and beloved supporter of the Witchcast, you can become a Patreon Supporter - just look for Lucy Cavendish on Patreon and see which tier may suit you! OR, if you’re feeling very kind, you could head to iTunes or Spotify and leave a rating or a review.

Blessed be, beautiful souls, as we approach Ostara in the South, and Mabon in the north. May the wheel’s turning bring to you the blessings of light and of shadows, and of the alchemy of change.

This episode Lucy connects with spirited, wildly creative woman of the earth Shannon Cotteril, known as Asha Moon, whose magickally-infused pottery sells out within hours, whose creative process is deeply connected to Mother Earth, and to the sacred. Lucy and Shannon talk about the energy of sacred objects, the relationship between the earth and crystals, and how they are reunited in Shannon’s work, circle-keeping and why our souls crave the sanctity of the listening circle, and Shannon’s Oracle deck, Of Earth and Ether. It’s a rich, nourishing conversation filled with beauty and goddess energy, just as Shannon’s creations are.

Thankyou as always to the family of Patreon supporters who breathe life into this podcast, to the sponsors: Kohli Tea (truly alchemical), Primal Healing (utterly transformative) and the inspirational Blue Angel Publishing, Lucy’s home since 2006. Warmest thanks to Shayne, as always, for his magickal production and sound wizardry, which elevates the show so much.

Welcome to the Faery Underground, Witches! This episode Lucy travels through the enchanting world of cult classic Labyrinth, ponders whether David Bowie could maybe, even actually be a Faery King, and teases out the clever symbology and subtext of this amazing, enchanting film amongst films. She then turns the Faery Forest cards for three beautiful souls who have questions about what to do when life feels like its lost its lustre, the future of a tricky relationship and what to consider energetically when a sort-of boyfriend says they do NOT want to be in a relationship - even if you are seeing each other three times a week! This, the beauty of spring, a BRAND NEW GORGEOUS SONG from the wonder that is S J Tucker, a classic Bowie track and a Wendy Rule melody that will take you far, far away from the human world. Join in our faery circle this episode, and feel those wings start to flutter!

Sponsors are the divine Primal Healing, delicious and healthful Kohli Tea (check out their new blends and sexy packaging - so Egyptian!) and darling Blue Angel Publishing. Heartfelt hugs to the Patreon family who keep The Witchcast going, to Shayne the one and only production wizard for making the show sound so magical, and if you are feeling the love, please take yourself to iTunes or Spotify and leave a glowing review so others can discover the Witchiest for themselves!

Blessings and welcome to the sonic sacred circle, Witches! So glad to be back in the Grove with all of you beautiful souls - I missed you! This episode I was asked some delicious questions, including who my favourite witch from history is - and I share my love of Tituba from Salem, Elizabeth Woodville, Anne Boileyn, Princess Diana (really) and more. Then we look into one of the most expensive tarot decks ever to go under auctioned - and why it was so prized, and ponder the ethics of practitioners claiming to remove covid from people’s bodies…usually after a hefty payment. Then I share a beautiful story with you all for Blessed Being - that of Airmid, the Irish Goddess, the shining one, the daughter of the Tuatha de Danaan, from whom our knowledge of herbs comes. I share her tragic (but very magickal) backstory, and include Airmid’s healing blessing for you all to work with.

With music inspired by herbs, gorgeous sponsors Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing, this return of the Witchcast is a magickal sanctuary where you can come, be enchanted, and explore the worlds between the worlds with me. Lush, Pagan-tinged or fully-magickal herbal music by Simon and Garfunkel, Spell Songs and the Lost Words, and The Dolmen.

Blessings and much love to you all, Witches! Seems we are all missing conversations and connection at present… So, to help fill the void, join Lucy in the sonic sacred circle as she meets up with esteemed pagan author, Frances Billinghurst, for a fascinating discussion on the darker aspects of the Goddess - and of ourselves.

Lucy and Frances delve into the shadow realms, share their passion for mythology and the sacred, and share stories of the Goddesses people most misunderstand, fear and avoid. because if you came to know them, you would discover that within their stories lie great tools and teachings, and most of all, true wisdom - the kind that can bring light to these mysterious times we live within.

Blessed be, beautiful souls. It’s been a raw time on planet earth recently, with sobering events and testing energy. During tough times, we all need a little comfort, a reminder that there is magick, and mystery, and that the world can be as full of light as it is of shadows.

This week’s Witchcast features an exclusive meditational journey, giving you a go-to sanctuary if you’re feeling a little low, and a simple way to reconnect with all that is sacred. Lucy offers up this soothing, inspiring and enchanted healing meditation set in one of the great sacred sites of Avalon…enter the healing waterfall, bathe in the holy waters, and know that you will emerge cleansed, refreshed, and reconnected with your own true soul-self. Light up the candles, burn the incense, and take a moment amidst all that may trouble you to give yourself the gift of this Avalonian healing energy.

Witches, when we cast and conjure, we know we have to adapt and shift and integrate our practices with the land we find ourselves blessed to walk upon. But how do we translate a very Northern Hemisphere tradition, like druidry, into the Australian context? Druid Julie Brett takes us on a journey into druidry’s heart, shares how it can be practised with integrity and respect for indigenous peoples, and why it can lead us deeper into a love and appreciation of Country - the power and song of the land, sea and sky. Julie and Lucy dig deep, ask the tricky questions, ponder and share from the soul  in this beautiful episode full of appreciation for the sacred land of old we are blessed to call home this lifetime. With music by Spiral Dance and Damh the Bard, this episode is a celebration of druidry down under.

With thanks to Shayne the Production Wizard, the sponsors - Kohli Tea (they have ten new blends!) Primal Healing (join Naormie’s page in insta to see what she’s up to) and Blue Angel Publishing, who Lucy is very proud to be a part of. Welcome Witches and Blessed Be. This episode sees Lucy cutting the cords of the mundane to join you in the sonic sacred circle, In which she explores new TV full of supernatural wonders and steam punk (yes, it’s still a thing) chic, a movie about a coven of witchy (maybe) sisters in the Basque territory of 1609, and a very unfortunate case of Satanic Panic hitting her small valley. She answers your questions, including one beauty about what, exactly and precisely, is the lifting of the veil that we refer to in Witchcraft? Lucy gives it her best shot and ends up somewhere betwixt and between the mystic, the neurological and dimensional physics - but it does all end up making sense, witches promise! There’s a letter from a listener who shares their musical journey through the Tarot, and Lucy offers a witchy solution to solving the age-old problem of end-of-pandemic ennnui. There is a very deep dive into the subtle, yet life-changing powers of the mermaid’s crystal - aquamarine - including its ability to help you clarify your focus and intentions. Including mystical, heart-healing music by Damh the Bard, Lost for Words and Swandy this magicjal episode is full of creativity, compassion, insights, healing, and laughter.

As always kisses and hugs and heartfelt gratitude to the Patreon Angels who make this podcast at all possible, to Shayne Brian for being The Wizard of Sound and the High Priest of Production, and to the precious sponsors who support the show each episode - Blue Angel Publishing, Kohli Tea, and Primal Healing.

Blessings and welcome to this wild broomstick ride of a Witchcast in which we go on a journey into the numerology, meaning of names, Gods and deities, mystical philosophy as well as the Buddhist  biblical references behind the mind-melting movie The Matrix! There is so much to delve into with this modern day classic, so come down the rabbithole with Lucy and discover why the Matrix has changed the cultural and spiritual landscape since its release in 1999 - and why being red-pilled may not mean what you think it does! Next, Lucy explores some listener’s life dilemmas and shares the magickal perspective of the cards - healing after a miscarriage, whether to down tools and hit the road, witch, and why life may have lost its sparkle for some since Covid… What the Oracle cards say is very, very insightful…and something freaky happens during this reading - even for Lucy! There is a whole lot of laughter, some very serious moments, one freaky card, and so much warmth, magick and love this episode, so come, be embraced by the the sacred sonic circle with Lucy and drink deep from the cauldron of enchantment! Enchanting songs are by the remarkable Wendy Rule, the tasty SJ Tucker and the most beautiful being ever to have walked this blue and green planet, Marc Bolan (and T-Rex).

Thankyou to Shayne and Justin for sound wizardry, to the essential Angels of Patreon who support the show ((the Witchcast would not be, without you!) ) and to the gorgeous sponsors, Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing. And to you, for being a part of the family!

It’s been a very wild time at Witch Headquarters and so in this episode Lucy lets loose and plays you some of your most requested Witchy music - so stir the cauldron and light up the candles, because you’ll be dancing, laughing, and maybe spellcasting during this episode. Witches - what do we love? FOOD? When do we love it? SAMHAIN! (Well, all the time, but maybe especially now!) Yes, this episode is all about what we can feast, savour, prepare and devour at this sacred point on the Wheel of the Year. (And we dive deep into the Dumb Supper, a little light bondage, the tastes of the departed and MORE!) But first - Lucy welcomes you into the Samhain circle, and shares some of the history, lore and rites of this enchanted time between the worlds.

Polixeni shares imaginative, powerful ways to make your Samhain taste amazing (and be very very sensual) as she shares her personal favourites on spicing up this beautiful season - we get waaay beyond pumpkins! So fire up the cauldron, ransack the magickal pantry, harvest those gourds and prepare to have your most tasty Samhain ever. Blessings of this Witches New Year to you all, and THANKYOU to the Patreon Angels, to the sponsors - Kohli Tea, Blue Angel Publishing and Primal Healing - and to YOU for allowing your witch within to rise up! Ratings and reviews shamelessly desired, and thankyou to everyone whose left one already! LOVE YOU!

Such a juicy cauldron being stirred this week, Witches! Join Lucy as she answers listeners’ questions about “gifts” from pets, non-binary Tarot decks and which Goddess to evoke as you prepare to birth a wee baby! There’s lots of witchy news, from the current tumult in the spiritual mecca of Byron Bay, the protection finally here for Two-Spirit people, and the amazing opening of a new Egyptian Museum that featured The Goddess Isis escorting mummies to their new location… an amazing, magickal ceremony fusing antiquity and technology.  Oh - Lucy explores (after her Mumma had an amazing dream about Lucy’s dad) the healing powers of dreams - and how our well-being literally depends on these night visions and wanderings.  And you’ll drink up delicious pagan songs by the glorious SJ Tucker, the primal beauty of PJ Harvey and a dreamy classic by Gary Wright.

Thankou to the Patreon Angels for your invaluable support - so much love to you all; big claps to Wizard of Sound, Shayne Brian and hugs and squishes to the gorgeous sponsors of the Witchcast, Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing.

Welcome to a most delicious Witchcast in which Lucy delves deep within the rich occult symbology of Robert Eggers’ masterpiece, The VVitch. Discover the fascinating associations between hares and witches, why goats were chosen to stand in for the “devil” and the truth behind the dark archetypes brought to life within this New England folktale.

This episode is filled with magickal history and occult art references - including which Old Masters painting inspired the final scene of the VVitch, and just how much of a nightmare the goat playing Black Philip was for one cast member (who ended up in the ER!). Lucy then answers some really tricky questions about when to reveal secrets, coping with crushes and why placing your faith in gurus (or people who claim they are) is never likely to go well. Featuring the Oracle of the Hidden Worlds, haunting pagan songs and so much fun, this is a stellar magickal episode!

With thanks to Shayne the Wizard for his production magicks, to Kohli Tea (yum) Blue Angel Publishing (check out their creations) and Primal Healing for spreading the good vibes - and their sponsorship. And to all the Patreon folks - you’re how Lucy can make the Witchcast every week. You are all LEGENDS!

Witches! Straddle those brooms and fly yourself into the magickal sonic circle for a cackle-fest of a conversation overflowing with mirth and reverence. Blessings and welcome to a very juicy conversation with the fabulously talented witch, writer and artist Priestess Moon. Lucy and Megan (Priestess Moon) chat about sigils and how to make them, unicorn mythos, illuminated herbal texts, Enid Blyton (yes, really) magickal trees, growing up weirdish and wildish and much much more. This conversation is like a warm squishy hug of welcome to a very eccentric coven and you will feel like you’ve just hung out with two besties who just happen to talk a LOT about witchcraft! It’s a warm, delicious and very funny conversation filled with insights and wisdom and ah-ha moments (amidst the cackling). You’ll feel right at home, magickal soul!

Songs are by Sheila Chandra and Wardruna and they are amaaazing!

Happy resurrection egg time, witches! Grab yourself some chocolate bunnies or bilbies and join the sacred sonic circle as Lucy dissects the online war that broke out around Starhawk, a legend of Witchcraft who deserved way way better. This is important stuff, as its about how we treat our Witchcraft elders - and it needs to get much, much better. Learn about the new sacred sites discovered after the summer of fire (and why we will never go there) and discover the Irish Farmer who works with the faeries  to heal the land. In the Cauldron there are some very juicy questions answered, including the meaning of dreams when your hands are covered in indigo, and Lucy shares really simple and super powerful ways to improve your second sight - worthwhile for anyone who wants to see auric fields or their own personal visions with a LOT more clarity.

Song are the joyous classic Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum, Oh Golden Grain by Wendy Rule, and Damh the Bard’s Pagan Ways. Production by The Wizard, aka Shayne Brian.

Add invaluable support by the bevy of Angeiic magickal beings at Lucy’s Patreon page, and three divine sponsors and that is why we have The Witchcast… If you want to support the show, please do leave a rating or a review and don’t forget to subscribe. Blessed be, and thankyou so much!

A delicious, warm-hearted episode revealing the surprising behind-the-scenes secrets of witchy classic Practical Magic - including the real-life curse unleashed on the movie by a magickal consultant! Lucy explores the magick of sisterhood, home and hearth, and discovers just why this movie just seems to keep resonating with Witches. (Especially anyone who longs for close female friendships, or has needed help with escaping an abusive relationship.) Lucy then shuffles her Alice: The Wonderland Oracle and answers very tricky questions on whether a listener should leave a toxic, sexist workplace, asks the cards why someone would refuse to date Cancerians (how very rude!) and asks Alice about choosing the right path for a listener torn between Druidry and Egyptian magicks. This episode is peppered with enchanted songs by Ashley Serena, Harry Nilsson and Jefferson Airplane, is sponsored by the majestic Blue Angel, powerful Primal Healing and sublime all-natural Kohli Tea (sipped every episode by Lucy!). the Witchcast is brought to you by Shayne’s production wizardry and an iconic host of Patreon Angels.

Opening with Lucy’s blessings for a magickal Mabon and a very blessed Ostara, then an exploration of what the Equinoxes’ energies may hold in store for you, this episode feels sacred and inspiring - a must for every witchy soul seeking the sacred as the wheel turns. Lucy has a spirited, soulful and very sassy conversation with the fascinating Ethony Dawn, whose independently published Tarot and Oracle decks are game-changers. Daring, vibrant, progressive and fearless, Ethony’s an inspiration for a new, unbound generation of Witches walking their own wild paths. Lucy and Ethony talk sisterhood, Practical Magic (that’s right, the movie) spells that go wrong and how to keep your Witchery fresh and creative. Including songs from Xavier Rudd, S.J. Tucker and Loreena Mckennit, this episode of the Witchcast will get your Equinox celebrations off to a high-vibe, spirited and utterly magickal start.

In this episode Lucy shares the creepy history of Frozen Charlotte dolls and other forms of food magick; explores Pamela Coleman Smith and the complicated story of the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and reveals the reasons behind the banning of the ages old tradition of the Evil Eye talisman in Turkey. She then takes a deep breath and tackles the tricky question most witches get asked sooner or later - are Witches in league with the Devil?

Lucy goes through the complicated history of this association, and shares just why it began, and just who it benefits (um, not witches). She even opens the door to the surprising Temple of Satan and their amazing charitable works - and no, you don’t have to sell your soul to get some soup and a blanket from them. She helps a listener out who has lost their Oracle Card guidebook, and shares magickal tips on how to stop a nosy neighbour from being a pest.

Finally Lucy gets into the science behind bookwitching - how reading magickal works for study and pleasure change your brain for the better, including delaying cognitive decline, increasing empathy, and making us all better problem solvers who can navigate the beautiful chaos of our world. The show as always is supported by wonderful sponsors Kohli Tea, Blue Angel Publishing and Primal Healing, and the growing Patreon family who make the Witchcast possible. In between all the witchy goodness, Lucy plays songs by Wendy Rule, G Wayne Thomas and Marianne Faithfull.

By knot of one, the spell’s begun...Blessed be, Witches! This week Lucy goes deep into the second season of A Discovery of Witches, which goes all Outlander on us as Diana and Matthew step back in time - to 1590, to be precise. It’s a feast for the fans of witchy history - alchemist Mary Sidney, The School of Night, Dr John Dee and a host of real-life magickal folks cross paths with our protagonists. Lucy explores real-life weavers, conducts a little how-to on knot magick, explains and explores the Witches Ladder and finds out just how Teresa Palmer (Diana Bishop) found her own elemental magick during the shoot for the show.

The Turn of a Card turns up a question on how to deepen the magick of a coven working from a share house - Lucy explores ways to keep a magickal group fresh, connected, and healthy - as well as how to introduce structure that can really focus your witchcrafting skills while respecting all members’ individual strengths. There are a host of occult-flavoured songs from Stevie Nix (no, it is NOT Rhiannon), the Pretenders and Donovan. A big big thankyou to our sponsors, Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing, and to the supporters who make the heart of this podcast beat into being every Friday - Patreon family, you are the best! And big thanks as always to Shayne Brian for his sound magick!

Songs: Sorcerer - Stevie Nicks (featuring Sheryl Crowe) Hymn to Her - the Pretenders Season of the Witch - Donovan

Blessed be and welcome to the first soul to soul: connected conversation of 2021. Which is the one when two witches, namely Lucy, namely the legendary Fiona Horne, get together and get very intense about their shared love of sea witchery, the passions and pitfalls of growing up magickally, and how fate works its magick in the times of Covid. It’s a very loose magickal conversation and it is completely frank, and we both get into territory that we think you’ll relate to - and some that could be triggering as we discuss abuse, overcoming shame, and how trauma shaped us for so many years. There’s a lot to discuss, a lot to move through, and a lot for Fiona to share - as her experiences have led to a book called Teen Witch, which hopes to empower young people (and the young at heart) with magick, ritual, spellcasting, and ways to really, really get comfortable in your own witchy skin. It’s a great, burning, raw conversation, inspiring, warm, open and very very real, and we both hope you’ll love it. Fiona is touring the country both in person and virtually all throughout March so go to her website www.fionahorne.com or to her socials to find out when and where you can connect with her, and her insightful perspective on how to help raise healthy, magickal people. Honestly, if you have teenagers, you MUST listen to this episode.

Music this week is in the form of a track from her Def FX Days - I'll be Your Magick and a very tantalising sneak peek for Fiona’s new recordings with her new band, Seawitch. The song is Initiation and the lyrics are drawn from Fiona’s Book of Shadows. It’s heavy, gorgeous, and powerful pagan rock.

As always huge gratitude and love and thanks to all the Lucy Cavendish Patreon supporters, and to all the keen listeners who’ve written in, and to Talented Producer Shayne for making Lucy’s kitchen sound like a magickal recording studio!

Merry Meet Again! We are back, and there’s so much to share! Enter the Circle and get comfy, Witches, as we enter magickal season three of the Witchcast. Lucy discusses the healing power of listening and sharing, tackles some tricky esoteric questions about how we treat our physical selves and the power of being body positive, and shares how she stays grounded when compelling false narratives sweep through the spiritual communities. Lucy’s been book-witching throughout the southern hemisphere summer so she shares her fave enchanting books from solstice season, wonders why she couldn’t get through The Winx Saga, gets excited about a movie based on Sutton Hoo and old-school archeology, and delves into the legendary Paris fashion house who’s based their latest collection around an arcane 15th century Tarot. Aaand there’s a very ah-ha moment kind of story for Witches who’ve been paying attention to how the moon influences their sleep patterns – because yes, science is playing catch up – and the studies read like a magickal manuscript.

Gorgeous pagan music this episode: Black Snake by Wendy Rule from the album Black Snake; Lughnasad by Damh the Bard from the album Herne’s Apprenctice, and Into the Green by Spiral Dance from the Woman of the Earth album.

So much love to all the Lucy Cavendish Patreon supporters, to all the lovely listeners who’ve written in, and to Producer Shayne for making Lucy’s kitchen sound like a recording studio!

Solstice blessings to you all - Lucy takes you into some of the traditions and ways of acknowledging the sacred Yule and joyous Litha solstices, does a deep dive into the undercurrents of real magick within the Netflix series, Siempre Bruja (Always a Witch). Where did it open doors, and where did it stumble - find out as Lucy explores the Santeria, Vodou and Latin traditions within the hit show which is, despite its flaws, definitely a game-changer in the magickal TV genre, so long dominated by literal white witches.

This show’s take on witchcraft and magick helps us see through fresh pagan eyes a world we may think we know, but still have so much to learn about. Then Lucy has an eye, heart and mind-opening frank and emotionally resonant discussion with Reiki practitioner, spiritual writer and potion mistress Jalesa Tucker about why spirituality needs Black Lives Matters - and how we can all work on inclusivity, making space and stepping up to the challenges that lie ahead. And finally - the perfect antidote for any seasonal intensity you may be experiencing in this year of wonder and weirdness could just be the gentle healing powers of the Australian bush flower, the Fringed Lily - explore its powers in Blessed Being.

And we close the year with three amazing pagan artists in this show - Wendy Rule, S.J Tucker and new (to Lucy!) artist Bowen with her standout track, Brave. Check out the clip - so many wild witchy women make an appearance!

Blessed Be, thankyou for being a part of the Witchcast this year - Lucy will be back in early 2021 with all the magicks that is the Witchcast. Until then, stay very well, know thou art blessed, and have the most beautiful, love-filled, magickal Solstice Season!

Message from Lucy: Gratitude and love to all the amazing Patreon supporters of the Witchcast - THANKYOU from my Witchy heart to yours for making the show happen throughout 2020! And to all the sponsors - - Kohli Tea, Primal Healing and Blue Angel Publishing - I love you all and am so grateful for your alliance with the Witchcast!

Welcome to this pre-Beltane and Samhain episode, Witches! To celebrate Belloween, Lucy explores some of her favourite handfasting scenes in movies and TV, and looks at some of the history and traditions of this sacred rite of two souls joining. In honour of Samhain in the north of the world, Lucy talks about taboos, death and dying with the woman who has been changing the way we work with this great gateway to the other side - Molly Deathtalker. Pagans need to get clearer, and better, at talking about how we die, and what to do when we - or people we love - are dying. This is a deep conversation that can help us all learn from one of the leading voices in the world on death, rites and ceremonies of death, and how to have an empowering, meaningful death in a world filled with humans that still can’t face their own mortality . Then Lucy changes the beat to investigate the healing power of drums on our bodies, minds and spirits - and how drumming can help us all to change our brains at a deep, peaceful level in times of stress and anxiety. Songs are all very Beltane-oriented - by the divine SJ Tucker and the wondrous Wendy Rule. have a most blessed lead-in to this great festival of the Witches - and enjoy the Witchcast!

Blessed be, and welcome to the sonic circle that is the Witchcast, friend - join Lucy for an episode that takes on some tricky questions Witches face - like whether Lightworker is a word we’d use to describe ourselves? What happens when we claim we only walk the path of Light? Are we in witchy denial? Lucy checks out the partly terrible, partly terrific trailer for the Craft: Legacy, and remains kinda sorta maybe hopeful about it, answers questions from listeners about working with artists when creating Oracle decks, and gets very excited about the forthcoming film The Witch of Kings Cross. This docu-drama is all about the true-life legend that is Rosaleen Norton and her daring, wild life as a witch and artist in 1950s and 60s bohemian Sydney. It’s a story that had to be filmed! Finally, Lucy reads for you using the Blessed Be deck - a deck based upon the Old Ways, and the Celtic practise of offering blessings to ourselves, and to others.

Wonderful Pagan music is by Laura Daligan, and Damh the Bard - Lucy could not get Waterfall out of her head for days, so now it can live in your head too!

Waterfall by Laura Daligan from her EP, Between the Worlds.

Imramma (A Soul Quest) by Damh the Bard from his album The Cauldron Born.

Song of Awen by Damh the Bard from his album Herne’s Apprentice.

Merry Meet, Witchcasters! Brightest blessings to you all as we enter the season of Belloween, so to celebrate the Samhain spirit Lucy offers up the next five of her top ten films about death, hauntings and the otherworlds: Crimson Peak, A Ghost Story, The Lovely Bones, Truly Madly Deeply and Boys in the Trees (starring Wendy Rule). We have your viewing over Belloween sorted!

Then enjoy a long and fascinating conversation as Lucy interviews the Spirit Medium, Yamile Yemoonyah, who shares her theory of seven types of guides - and discover which could be yours! Yamile is a truly beautiful soul, with ancestral connections to Columbia, Africa and Europe, kind and caring, and has had some wild times over her life - including starting up a business with the help of an African Goddess! We cover power animals, angels, gods and goddesses, nature spirits, star beings, ancestors and ascended masters - as well as how to communicate with them. You’ll come away from this conversation inspired, and deeply curious about what lies beyond this world, and how the interdimensional worlds overlap and intertwine with ours.

Finally, well, we knew this conversation was coming, but given Yamile touched on cultural appropriation, and given how much of it takes place, it was time to delve into why working with sage can be problematic. It is at its heart an ancient, sacred indigenous practise - so how has the commercialisation of this indigenous sacred religious practice impacted upon the First Nations peoples of the United States and Canada who were, until recently, banned from using sage at all. A difficult, but very necessary conversation about cultural protocols that could help us all become more kind, aware, and conscious of the lines between the sacred and the unholy.

This week’s beautiful Pagan Songs are all by a new artist (to the program) - David Pendragon makes his Witchcast debut!

You’ll hear:

Spiral Dance by David Pendragon

Pendragon Hall with Dance of the Fae

and to soothe and comfort us all, will put you in the most beautiful, calm and loved space, regardless of what is going on within your life, or out there in the world.David Pendragon’s Irish Blessing

Hey Witches! Have you ever wanted to explore working with a Ouija Board, but been put off by the rumours and horror movie tropes that swirl about this magickal device? Lucy digs in to just why we are so conflicted (and tries to forget every single time she’s seen one mis-used in a movie). Lucy goes into very deep territory, and offers readings filled with insight about the challenges and delights of relationships - how do we heal love relationships, work through volatility and power struggles, and keep friendships healthy in these times when distance and stress is taking a toll on how we relate? And, if you’ve ever felt like relationships with humans are just too hard, you could perhaps consider meeting the perfect tree. One woman has done just that, and Lucy shares her story on this episode of the Witchcast. Featuring the music of the divine Wendy Rule, this episode is deep, filled with joy, and hopeful that we can all find our unique take on this experience called Life!

On behalf of Wendy Rule, I’d like to invite you to Wendy's livestreamed concert. Tickets are $5 US (about $7.50 AUS) and you can pledge more for your ticket (I will be!). Wendy is hoping to raise enough money for her airfare back to Australia and to cover quarantine, to be reunited with her Dad, who has just been diagnosed with a very serious illness.

Welcome to a very high vibrational episode, Witches! In which Lucy reveals her kinda surprising top ten Ghost Movies, films that may be a little neglected, yet filled with real-life counterparts and more than a little haunting. The Witchcast meets the very earthy Australian Medium Charmaine Wilson, a woman with uncanny gifts and powers, coupled with the blessings of compassion and insight, as well as being the most down to earth and grounded spirit talker around. Charmaine really is very open and warm and shares so much of her own story - alcohol, loss, drugs, death, grief, and the discovery of her singular and very rare talent. And join Lucy as she digs around in the magickal herb garden to unearth the ingredients that make up the Traditional Witches Flying Ointment - and comes up with a recipe that is a lot more user-friendly than some of the ones our ancestors worked with! Enjoy Pagan songs by Damh the Bard and S.J Tucker, and as always so many thanks to Nordic Daughter for their song We Are One, used in the Witchcast intro and outro. And big love to all the Patreon Supporters who help keep making this show happen!

Blessings, friends! It is the turning of the Wheel once again and we arrive at Ostara in the Southern Hemisphere and all that the Spring Equinox brings to us in the lengthening of the Light. And if you are in the North of the world, the Autumnal Equinox of Mabon sees the descent, or the fall, into the Darker time beginning. Introspection and insight, blossom and rebirth, all are sacred on the Witches wheel. Lucy explores a neanderthal bone flute made from a cave bear bone - you can hear its haunting sound during the show - shares how to get a spiritual book or card deck published, discusses a tricky side of Pagan parenting - what to do when your child’s Tarot cards get confiscated at school… The Witchcast celebrates a Yuin artists’ ancestral Dreaming entry into the Louvre, wonders whether the Scottish Witches murdered during the hatred of the Witch Trials will finally get an official pardon (a lawyer thinks they should and is leading the crusade) and reads the cards for you working with the amazing and very beautiful Oracle of the Hidden Worlds, with stunning art by the talented Gilbert Williams. It’s a show rich with music as always - Damh the Bard and Wendy Rule take us through the blessings of Mabon and Ostara with sacred song.

We enter an ancient tomb of the dead and read a lover’s magickal incantation to Aphrodite, take on the Christian vigilantes attacking Santa Muerte shrines in Mexico and explore the science confirming what Witches always knew - that Stonehenge is a ritual soundscape that is meant to used for song, chant, drumming and neolithic bronze horns. Shivers down a Witchy spine! When was the last time a movie really scared you? Lucy found the Witchfinder General, a cult classic of folk horror, one of the most chilling filmic experiences she’s had. Not because it’s gory, or even particularly "horrifying" - but because it’s based on the real-life witch hunts of Witchfinder General of England, Matthew Hopkins - one of the villains of the Burning Times. It is a great film, and so worth seeing, but it still has the ability to get right under a Witches skin…. On an enchanted note, Adrienne Piggot, the talented lead singer of legendary pagan band, Spiral Dance joins the Witchcast to chat to Lucy about Awen, the Old Ways and how she found her heart’s path in Druidry. And who knew that the famous Four Thieves Oil has its origins in the plague pandemic of the 1600s - Lucy delves into its history, and shares how you can make your own version of this renowned remedy…

Songs are by Spiral Dance because, well, we love them!

The Children of Lir, by Spiral Dance, from Land and Legend
