Eating disorders and disordered eating are extremely prevalent issues in our society - yet they are rarely understood, and sadly, even glorified. Join Chanci and Doreen Fleischer as they discuss: -   The difference between eating disorders and disordered eating -   Red flags to look out for -   How to talk to your teen about disordered eating -   The path to healing and freedom -   Pleasurable movement vs punishing exercise -   Less known eating disorders -   The mother/daughter relationship and its impact on the teen’s relationship with food and her body -   Why it’s never a “perfect time” to start your path towards healing About the Guest: Doreen Fleischer is 21 years (young), a certified nutritionist, eating disorder recovery coach and psychology student. Throughout her school years she dealt with disordered eating, without knowing that her relationship with food and her body was not normal. She thought that as a teenage girl with curves and a softer stomach she was supposed to "hate" her body and try her best to shrink it. After finishing her a-levels she went to South Africa to do a voluntary service but was horrified at the thought that she might gain weight during that gap year, which ended up in a full-blown eating disorder (anorexy nervosa type II - the binge-restrict type). The year, that was supposed to be THAT year of her life, ended up being a horror trip. Soon everything she could think of was food, how to burn calories and shrink her body. The next two years she dedicated to her recovery journey and educating herself more about eating disorders, nutrition and intuitive eating. Today she can accept and value my body in a way she never even dared to believe would be possible for her and she found passion in supporting others on their way to body acceptance and food freedom Find Doreen on the following platforms https://doristrendfood.com/blog/recovery-blog/ (My eating disorder recovery blog), where she also posts weekly Q&A´s and answer her followers and blog readers questions: https://doristrendfood.com/blog/recovery-blog/ (https://doristrendfood.com/blog/recovery-blog/) https://www.instagram.com/doristrendfood/ (Instagram) : https://www.instagram.com/doristrendfood/ (https://www.instagram.com/doristrendfood/) 1:1 https://doristrendfood.com/extreme-hunger-recovery-coaching/ (extreme hunger recovery coaching), where we focus on healing extreme hunger, letting go of food rules and dealing with the changes that come along with recovery. https://doristrendfood.com/extreme-hunger-recovery-coaching/ (https://doristrendfood.com/extreme-hunger-recovery-coaching/) About the Host: Chanci Dawn is a non-diet certified nutritionist, mindset and embodiment coach whose soul’s purpose is to help women create the most wildly free and loving relationship with food and their bodies. How do you love your body when it feels like she’s betraying you? Join Chanci and her special guest, Nanci Dueck, as they explore this issue through the lens of living with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). Nanci shares her wisdom gained through her own experience with PMDD and through supporting her clients towards their own emotional health. Strength-based living, permission, compassion and curiosity are just a few of the takeaways! Enjoy!  About the Guest: Nanci is an emotional health coach, professionally trained and certified. She gained a passion for coaching after she experienced it firsthand, and had the life-changing realization that emotional health is a skillset most people are never taught; and that learning and practicing these skills can dramatically improve even the negative effects of mental health conditions (like her own genetically predispositioned clinical depression and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). She couldn’t understand why something so powerful was so under-taught, and decided this needed to change. When the time came to pick a specialty for her coaching practice, she knew it had to be emotional health. Nanci is also a mother to 5 children, ages 12-21, a wife of 23 years, and has been a restaurant and home-care agency owner and operator. Then one day out of the blue, my husband told me he had been lying to me for years about his porn use. I felt betrayed. I was gutted. I felt like I had no one to talk to and didn’t know what to do. I started questioning everything. It felt as though my life had 180’d. To top it all off, within a week of telling me, he started having panic attacks. He then stopped working due to anxiety, depression, and side-effects of his medication.I had a 4 year old, 2 year old, 3 month old and became a caretaker for my husband. I didn’t see any positive end game. I spent a lot of time struggling to survive. I became an avid information gatherer. I read, listened to a LOT of podcasts, and talked to trusted friends. I needed more. I went to traditional therapy. I went to specialized therapy. I went to energy workers, muscle testers, practiced yoga (all great things that still serve me today). I needed more. It wasn’t until I got a life coach that my healing came full circle. I was then able to start believing that I could be confident, connected, and optimistic about my life again. And now I’m here, to help you, do the same!  http://www.instagram.com/lindsaypoelmancoaching (www.instagram.com/lindsaypoelmancoaching) https://www.lindsaypoelmancoaching.com/self-advocacy?fbclid=IwAR3PkZgRj4wftEyl8Gb1XOWnqo6pVQgV5n2UszHh97itZymQzKTO0fiYZ6c (https://www.lindsaypoelmancoaching.com/self-advocacy) Thanks for listening!
