With over 18 years of experience in the Special Forces Regiment, LTG Geoffrey Dardia knows a thing or two about both, operations and the practice of self care.
It comes to no surprise that choosing a career within the Army has an abundance of perks but unfortunately the biggest downside is the toll the job takes on mental health. While on tour, Dardia started struggling from stress due to a divorce process, medical retirement, depression and ultimately suicidal ideation. While battling these thoughts Dardia was told that it was "All in his head" and he refused to succumb to this being the solution.
Rather than accepting defeat, Dardia took his life into his own hands, the #EverydayGSD way.
This episode is a discussion about Dardia's life within the Special Forces, the creation of The Task Force Dagger Foundation Health Initiative that he started back in 2013 and his leadership role within helping empower people to take ownership of their health and actions.
