I just celebrated my 49th birthday and sat down to make a list of some of the life lessons I have learned for myself along the way. I tried to start my lessons with things from my childhood on up. I would love to hear what life lessons you would have added to a list.

As mentioned in this podcast my niece Breezy Pennington was murdered by her spouse, who has still not been apprehended. She was a mother of 4 kids that will need assistance in more ways than I can even begin to imagine. Family and friends have set up 2 go fund me pages that funds will go towards helping them have a brighter future. Anything helps even sharing one of the links

This dynamic duo are the ones who took on a call to action and hosted the Grit City’s Rally For Reproductive Freedom, which was held on 10/08/2022 in Tacoma, WA. Their event was attended by @150 participants, with 5 outstanding speakers and was supported by 10 local agencies. After supporting this event I wanted to have them join me on All Mixed Up to discuss all things Grit City Feminist. Every so often I hear people loooking for info in regards to content creation. I have been creating content for what seems like forever and in so many differnet formats and platforms. No, I'm not the most viewed or heard person out there but I do have some loyal peeps and that's the best kind of audience to have. Be a sharer, be teachable, be forgiving and admit you're fallable when you need to....nobody is perfect.
I have been listening to and reading "The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perserverence and the Art of Living" by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman and I want to share this great take on philosophy and living our best lives. The first meditations is "Control and Choice" the idea of learning to differentiate what we have control of and the choice to spend time and energy on what we can not control. I can tell you I have spent half of my life worrying about the things I can't control. Nothing has been more difficult in this control and choice for me as having an adult child living at home.
So just as I was about to go down the rabbit hole in my mind of how best to handle living with your adult children a notification for NPR (attached link below) popped up about this very thing. Kismet; I think so. Either way I found the topic relevent to what I had just read in my meditations. I know that I am not the only one of my peers with adult children at home, this might be the new norm. How could multigenerational living effect you and your family? Are you an adult living at home, or are you a parent with an adult living at home? How have these arrangements been positive/negative for you?

With the addition of Juneteenth as a new national holiday this year I wanted to reflect about what Juneteenth is and what the differences between that and July 4th are. I find Juneteenth to be a celebration of our freedoms and diversity. Diversity is often a misunderstood concept but hopefully what I offer here will help those who may be confused. Diversity is beautiful and should be embraced.
