Welcome back and thanks for listening! This episode I'm hanging out with one totally awesome dude-Blake Billington, bass player and vocalist with local garage surf group: The Drain Outs. These guys know how to rock. Straight up. I had a blast when I got to share the stage with them awhile back so I was very excited to sit down and get the scoop on how the trio came to be. Find out how Blake got his start, being a musician during the COVID era, and what's next for The Drain Outs.

It has been a crazy difficult year for most of us. For artists and musicians, it's been pretty much a stand still. Despite all that, a group of hungry and talented bandmates put their heads together and found a way to have their best year ever. I brought on singer and guitarist Luis Giler to find out more about that DT magic, his journey as a musician, and what we can expect next from the band.

I'm back from a little podcast hiatus due to focusing really hard on recording the upcoming album...and it was my birthday :)

But we are indeed back with an awesome guest this week! We are joined by one of my favorite photographers in the Tampa Bay area, Kelsey Walker. She crushes concert photos and is an overall fantastic person.

Find out how she approaches the shot and more in this weeks episode!

This week we are hosting a very special episode because September is National Recovery Month!

Recovery is super important to me, and I think for people who aren't exposed first hand to the recovery side of addiction might be feeling a bit of mystery in regards to what that can be like. I really wanted to change that and hopefully make the idea of getting better more accessible so I brought someone who lives in recovery and was willing to get REAL about recovery. I want people to know more than just the headlines, but the day to day. That's where so much of the miracle happens.

No one better to bring on than my friend Patrick Slattery, Owner of Real Recovery Sober Living.

This is a long episode, but it's full of great insight and conversation on a topic that affects so many of us. I encourage you to break this up into a couple listening sessions because you aren't going to want to miss a second.

Welcome back to Eat The Artist!  Taking a bite of the good, bad, and ugly of making it as an artist

In this weeks episode, I sat down with New Jersey Producer/Engineer, Joey Papa (Ipkiss, Electric Sensei, Sonoma Beach Studios), to talk about where I'd like my remains spread (end of episode). Slightly less important, but we do talk about surviving as an artist (and recording) during the pandemic, making money smarter with passive income, and our collaboration on my first release.

Plus! Mixing: art or science?
