I hope 2020 is going gangbusters for y’all!
Things are going swimmingly on my side. Opportunities abound and I feel like a kid in a candy shop. Just have to make sure I don’t overcommit and say yes to too many things, which is a problem for me—and I suspect for many of you as well. I need to heed the guidance in these recordings and slow down a bit, and let things move at less of a breakneck pace.
Quick note: a subscriber mentioned that sometimes the audio pauses when listening on the phone, which is mildly jarring when you’re deep into a recording. A solution here is to click “Listen in podcast app".” See below:

Greetings, y’all.
Welcome to 2020! I’d say it’s starting out pretty well so far. Existential despair is under control and I don’t know about you, but I plan on enjoying the journey of pursuing some pretty big goals this year.
Enjoy today’s meditation.

Greetings, y’all.
Today’s audio is a bit meta. It provides a little more context about the idea behind this project, the style of the content, and what to expect.
Enjoy.
Something interesting happened this week: I got an MRI and it the experience was….relaxing? See this thread on twitter:

Greetings, y’all.
Here we are.
Smack dab in the middle of Q4, sprinting to complete projects and get things done before the holidays arrive. As an entrepreneur in the process of starting up my next venture, this feeling is very real.
I’m moving as fast as I can because the windows of opportunity are open now. So much of the work world shuts down as we approach the holidays so I’m cramming in as many meetings as I can and sparking as many conversations as possible. All towards the goal of creating opportunities for larger projects for the coming year.
If you can relate to that, I wish you the best.
The challenge about operating in such a state is that you can find yourself a little too locked into your goals. So much so that you miss what is happening around you.
Today’s audio provides a hands-on way to avoid that particular brand of single-mindedness. Give it a listen, and hopefully it will give you a few nudges in new directions.
Quick question: is the shade of red in this newsletter design jarring/misaligned with the subject matter? I like it but ultimately this project is about serving you, the audience. So if you like the red theme or would prefer a different color, let me know.

Greetings, y’all.
Today’s audio is about trust with your team members, partners, and anyone else you deal with in a workday.
I’m heading into the studio next week to record a new batch. I will likely be experimenting with the model. If you have any comments or suggestions, I’m all ears.

Happy Halloween, y’all.
What prompted today’s missive was one of you subscribers asking me why the frequency of these emails has slowed; he said he was waiting on the next one.
That made my day.
I’m grinding through a lot right now: started a new company, writing a book, running corporate mindfulness workshops*, and some really unfortunate emotional turmoil tied to someone doing their best to drive a wedge between me and something I care about deeply.
To have one of you say that Inbox Mindfulness is resonating with you really put the wind in my sails. You know who you are—thank you!
And for the rest of y’all: never forget that telling someone that you appreciate what they’re making never gets old.
Mindfully yours,
Cam

Today’s audio is a reminder on the value of removing.
Work life tends to focus on more: more projects, more tasks, more customers, more effort.
Everything compounds.
Ironically, sometimes one’s mindfulness practice gets better with less effort.
The trick here is to stay with just a little bit of attention for a while, then let it rest for the more focused moments of the day. Don't let the mind dictate to you how you are going to do this or that. Just rest for a few minutes, observing whatever it finds with curiosity.
Mindfully yours,
Cam

This week almost killed me. I spent Tues-Thurs running a high pressure corporate innovation training and my back went out in the middle of it. After lots of grimacing and devoting as much energy I could to simply bearing the pain, I made it through and I can now take the next few days to recuperate.
On to today’s audio….
Today’s meditation focuses on giving yourself a few moments when you feel some stress or tension regarding a person or situation at the workplace.
Enjoy, and have a great weekend

Welcome.
This is a different kind of email newsletter. One that uses audio—specifically, the power of the human voice—to ease stress, relax the body and mind, and learn a thing or two in the process.
This week’s meditation reflects on a practice that has been incredibly useful throughout my career and a question worth asking yourself and your team on a regular basis.

Anytime we share something with the world—our thoughts, our goals, our projects, our work product—we open ourselves up what other people think.
Because we are human, we gravitate towards the nice things that people say.
Consider resisting that instinct.
Today's meditation explores this idea.

Hell is other people.
Or is it?
Most of the time, the people causing us frustration do not intend to do so.
Today’s audio is a meditation on how once we can give ourselves a little distance, it becomes clear that we should focus on problems, not people.
