Offering a variety of music, news and culture from throughout the Hispanic world, Postales Musicales de Latinoamérica (Musical Postcards from Latin America) is produced by a collective of five hosts who come from diverse backgrounds and experiences (male, female, Hispanic, Canadian, young, experienced, North, Central, South American, etc.). Each host brings a unique musical perspective that is infused and informed by his or her own special interests, and this diversity creates a rich variety of programming. On any Sunday, listeners tune in to Postales Musicales to hear a mélange of musical genres that represent the distinct geographical and cultural regions of the Americas, including trova, tango, folklore, salsa, son, merengue, cumbia, samba, Afro-Peruvian rhythms, boleros, alternative rock, bachata, reggaetón, mestizo music, and much, much more.
Postales Musicales is not just about music. It is also about building cultural connections and relationships between the listeners and the Hispanic community. It is a completely bilingual show, and as such, appeals to Spanish and English-speaking listeners. The program features news, cultural information, sports highlights, and interviews from the local to the global. This program won the NCRA/ANREC Community Radio Award for Best Third Language Program in 2013.
Notes From The Underground is a music-adjacent exploration featuring interviews with individuals working with and in music who are not musicians. Join an all-start cast of CFUV volunteers as they discover the breadth of musics impact.
Lost fishing gear is a globally under studied problem, damaging marine ecosystems via habitat degradation, killing marine life, and negatively affecting commercial fishery stocks. There is a large knowledge gap, in information regarding why and where commercial fishing gear is lost in BC's marine environments. Caitie’s study aims to address this knowledge gap by investigating why and where commercial fishing gear is lost in Salish Sea. This information can possibly guide future fisheries and marine wildlife management decisions to ensure marine protected areas are not exposed to the inherent risks of lost fishing gear while balancing the needs of the commercial industry.
A fun and exciting international music program that focuses on contemporary pop music from East Asia, but primarily Korea. The program aims to provide a weekly broadcast of current and classic sounds from the Korean pop music industry, as well as K-Indie/ RnB/ Hip Hop.
Hosts Mackenzie Taylor and Josef Stafford delve into the histories and stories of Sasquatch.
A critical look into the bureaucratized and underfunded world of on-reserve housing produced by Jordan Koe as part of CFUV's Documenting Decolonization Project, funded by the Community Radio Fund of Canada.
Creative Productions is a space for sound art to be shared; an hour dedicated to non-traditional radio content produced by CFUV and the UVIC community.
This is a music program that also highlights social justice issues. The intention of this program is to amplify Indigenous, electronica, hip hop, reggae and femme artists. Updates on the cosmos and events that relate to Canadian social justice issues will be special features of this program. You may also gain inner wisdom by learning about the featured crystal of the week.

Audio Osmosis is a local DJ and event promoter specializing in weird and avant garde music.

Hand-Picked Blues is your weekly one-hour curation of Acoustic Blues music. Featuring local blues artists as well as the best selections from across time and space, join Gavin as he explores the beauty of Acoustic Blues music.
The best of music commonly heard at BC festivals and West coast music scene. Everything from Bass, Electronica, Dubstep (Deepdub and varieties), Funk, House, Techno, Hiphop, Drum and Bass, Downtempo, Experimental, IDM. occasionally indie electronic synth wave, and organic/accoustic electronic.
The Wherehouse program hosted DJ Wreckordz airs live Saturday nights from ten to midnight. The first half hour of the show focuses on new releases from Canadian electronic recording artists followed by an hour and a half live studio mix from Wreckordz’ extensive vinyl collection as well as new and unreleased tracks from his friends in the industry. Ranging all the way from breaks, jungle, drum and bass to all styles of house music this program is like a box of chocolates. You never know what kind of goodies are coming up next.
