Looking back at the cult classic TV series, 'Pizza', which aired on Australian television over seven seasons on SBS from 2000 to 2007, and 7 Mate from 2019 to 2021.
In this episode, the Fat Pizza crew have been seeing too many terrorism ads, which leads Jabba to believing that Habib's a terrorist; meanwhile, Pauly tries to rescue captured hostages from CenterLink; and Bobo meets Prime Minister John Hawkes at the pizza shop.
A special episode as I chat with Johnny Boxer (aka Bobo Gigliotti) about his involvement with the Pizza Series, and the Fat Pizza Movie.
In season 3, Pizza returns bigger, better and cheesier than ever. Pauly's a victim of road rage and nearly chokes a cop; Bobo attacks Leonard, his new and disabled apprentice and is on edge because his new wife Lin Chow will not sleep with him; and Habib gets home detention for keeping a rocket in his backyard.
In this BONUS episode of the podcast, Lachlan and Daz recap season 2 and look ahead to a very entertaining season 3.
In episode 10, Desert Pizza, Sleek, Pauly and his uncle are fishing on a boat and have some bait which contains marijuana, goat's cheese and petrol. Sleek accidentally rolls up a joint and lights it only to realise that the boat had exploded. The explosion sends Pauly and Sleek out to sea where they end up as castaways on an island.
In this episode, Pauly marches for his grandfather who served in Gallipoli; the Prime Minister is assassinated over the GST; and Sleek turns a B&S ball into a rave as his Lebanese friends sell drugs to the bumpkins.
A special episode of the podcast, as I chat with Australian comedy Legend, Austen Tayshus, about his time on the show, and also revisit episode 8 of season 2, where the men all have girlfriend/dating experiences.
In Freaky Pizza, Pauly is forced to babysit his uncle's grossly overweight child and runs into severe problems when his car is stolen. Meanwhile Claudia McPherson needs a new kidney and an organ harvester has found an unbeknownst donor in Sleek, and it's a full moon and this causes drama for Bobo.
In Flashback Pizza, Bobo visits a shrink because of mental problems brought on by the shop; Pauly wants to become an actor and quit working; while Sleek applies for a loan to kick-start his rap career.
In this episode, Pauly and Sleek decide to drive to Melbourne and head out to some night clubs to meet some girls. Meanwhile, when the Tax Department closes Bobo's shop for a $1 million GST debt, he blows up the Tax Office in an Oklahoma-style bombing.
In this episode, Sleek stars in a Survivor-style reality program with six beautiful models, and Pauly encounters legal troubles after a run-in with boxer Mike Titan and seeks a solution via a road rage incident with Anthony Mundine. Meanwhile, Bobo gets a new apprentice who is subjected to "apprentice abuse".
In this episode, Pauly thinks he is on a mystery flight to Surfers, but ends up in Vietnam and Sleek, who thinks he's gay, delivers to the Mardi Gras. Meanwhile, Bobo buys a batch of toxic cheese from Russia which is full of radioactive mad cow testosterone, and in doing so, killed mama’s dog, Fluffy.
In this episode, Pauly and Sleek take off for a weekend at the snow and return to a Dog Day Afternoon style siege at the motor registry, whilst Bobo searches for a new apprentice pizza chef.
In New Pizza, the first episode of season 2, Pauly and Bobo do an insurance job to get a new shop in Hashfield; Sleek returns from a holiday in Lebanon; Claudia MacPherson takes the piss out of fitness videos; and Pauly experiences road rage with Saddam Hussein.
In the final episode of The Fat Pizza Podcast, we revisit season one and remind ourselves just how good this tv series was.
In episode 9, the final of season 1, Sleek and Bobo head out to the casino to place some bets after their shifts. While Sleek wins, Bobo is on a losing streak and finds himself desperate enough to bet his shop. Unfortunately Bobo loses, Pauly and Sleek find themselves working at the pizza shop for their new boss, the Mafia.
In this episode, it's Australia Day at the Fat Pizza pizzeria, Sleek is exhausted after winning a rap marathon and dreams himself into colonial times. Although in his dreams colonial Australia keeps turning into a rap video clip with sexy female dancers at every corner. He becomes the man from Snowy Pizza. Bobo is furious at TV chef Bernard for giving a bad review on his pizzas and wants revenge. Claudia MacPherson hires a personal trainer because she is told she is fat and Pauly ends up attempting to resuscitate a heart attack victim with a vacuum cleaner.
In Road Trip Pizza, a former employee shoots Bobo in the groin, and whilst he is in hospital recovering, Pauly and Sleek decide to make a road trip from Sydney to Surfers Paradise so they can party it up.
In this episode, Supermodel Claudia MacPherson is marrying actor Roger Connery, the new Bond film star, and Pauly joins the army reserves (thinking he will meet girls). Bobo falls in love with Angelina - Pauly's replacement and the two set off to get married in Sicily. Sleek tries out a new deodorant that leaves such an attractive scent he ends up in tight squeezes with drag queens, crazy chefs, a porn star, and a rock band called Marilyn's Regurgitators.
In this episode, we revist episode 5, which sees Bobo close the shop early to get ready to date a sexy somebody he met on the Internet, whilst Sleek and Pauly have a night on the town, and as usual, not all is well in the land of Fat Pizza.
In season 1, episode 4, the premier of New South Wales passes a new homeboy law allowing police to detain and search anyone in a baseball hat or tracksuit. Unfortunately for the workers at the Fat Pizza pizzeria their uniforms consist of tracksuits and baseball caps. Pauly is arrested in a case of mistaken identity by two hopeless detectives. A disgruntled customer hires a hitman to kill Pauly because of a mix up on a pizza delivery.
In episode 3, an Actor attempts to sue Fat Pizza for damages following an altercation with Bobo, and Sleek also attempts to file a lawsuit, against a Wrestler. Meanwhile, the filming of a "James Bond" movie takes place at a nearby Movie studio, and frequent usage of Mobile Phones results in a Petrol station in Campsie blowing up.
This week we look at Episode 2: Space Pizza, which introduces Rocky and Habib, whilst Pauly has been dumped in the desert by the aliens and tries to find his way back to civilization. Meanwhile Bobo has employed a new pizza deliverer in place of Pauly. However the new deliverer ends up being killed by an axe murderer. The episode features a guest appearance by Barry Crocker.
In this episode of The Fat Pizza Podcast, we look at Season 1, Episode 1, where we're introduced to our main characters and reminded that delivering pizzas is one of the most dangerous jobs in the Western World!

And of course those iconic characters such as Pauly Falzoni, David "Sleek the Elite" Arafat, Habib Halal Habib, David "Davo" Dinkum, Rocky, Claudia MacPherson and Bobo Gigliotti.
