I had the pleasure of chatting with Maya Henry, whose debut novel, Looking Froward is inspired by events from her life. She is a student, model, actress and activist and this book was a work of love, awareness and truth. Her story is worldwide, taking you all over, but also is a voice for women. Mal and Oliver are a love story like no other. The format of the book was so unique and really made the reading experience fun. I also loved that I was her FIRST podcast, she was a pro!
I did not know when I started my interview with @riley.sager that it would not only solidify his presence on my auto-buy list but also learn what an amazing human Riley is. One of my all time faves returned to Books are Chic after missing last year, which will never happen again- Annabel Monaghan. We celebrated the release of Summer Romance which is a perfect summer read with romance and heart. It has some spice, some humor and truly is a love letter to moms of the mom figure in your life. Annabel is a true inspiration and just so humble and wonderful. I LOVE chatting with her and am so happy we could reunite.

I get why people say this is one of their best reads of 2024 and why the fans voted for this book. It is unputdownable. It had heart, laughs and great character connections. Browns writing felt seasoned and relatable. We chatted writing, inspiration, the shift from reality TV to books and so much more. You will read this delight of a book, wanting more from Brown and solidifying her place in the romance world.
I have been a huge fan of Jo since one of her first novels with Lucy Sykes, The Knockoff. When I heard about her latest solo project, I knew I needed to read it. Mystery, murder, food, Sicily, world travel- yes please. This book is special because Jo took on a real life family mystery and crafted a novel that will appeal to all. I had the best time chatting with Jo (over an hour!) talking books, writing, travel, Italy and so much more. Plus Jo just kept it REAL about so many things- motherhood, etc.- which I loved.

The godmother of book influencing is on Books are Chic today, to celebrate her fiction debut, Blank. THE ZIBBY OWENS. Her story is incredible. Her work ethic is enviable. Her vibe is inspiring. I loved Blank and know her fans and book lovers will too. It was fun, had heart but also was a tribute to books and authors and everything in between. I so enjoyed this chat, as Zibby is so excited about books and writing that you can't help but be as equally excited. She is the friend you'd love to get lost in a bookstore with.

A readers bucket list dream. The one, the only, Kristin Hannah. Let me preface I started this interview with "I am so nervous". Never in a million years would I have thought, that when I started my little blog that could, which would then become a podcast, would I have the absolute privilege of chatting with Kristin Hannah. We all know her and we all love her. Her books are friends we never want to say goodbye to, who last forever in our book dreams. Her latest, The Women is no exception to her amazingness. The plot, the characters, all feel like things that could have happened to you, people you may know- the thing I love about Kristin's stories. She was a delight. I had the best time chatting with Clemence Michallon, author of the most suspenseful and creepy, The Quiet Tenant- which I devoured. This novel plays out like a movie. Clemence is like Emily in Paris but Clemence in NYC. I loved hearing her story and journey with this book. I also loved figuring out she was a Bravo lover!
