This Tuesday we are discussing one of the biggest Marketing conferences in the world. It emphasizes actual marketing strategies to utilize for maximum growth. We will be discussing 3 core strategies to consider for your next marketing campaign.
Episode 30 - Important Takeaways from Traffic and Conversion Summit
B2B not all marketing strategies are relevant
Traffic and conversion is a once a year event hosted in San Diego, California
From what I gathered there were 3 big takeaways from the conference:
YouTube Organic is the hot thing for B2B.
According to statista, approximately 500 hours of content is uploaded to youtube every minute. Which could sound like too much, and how could you stand out.
But there are a lot of consumers: about 2.6 Billion Users worldwide
And YouTube is the Second most popular search engine in the world only after Google, which owns YouTube. Which enables searching on google to find YouTube videos easier
And the last intense statistic that everyday people watch 1 billions hours of video on YouTube
So when someone says that there is too much on YouTube, just remember that 1/3 of the population goes on YouTube and 1 billion hours of video are consumed a day.
Here are some pro tips for success:
A face is easier to get traction for than a random company name
Value over the best camera. You don’t need the $10,000 camera to have success on YouTube. People mainly go on YouTube for 1 of 3 reasons, to get entertained, informed or inspired. When you create content on YouTube it should hit 1 or more of these types of content consistently and that’s how you can grow and make impact.
The next point that was discussed: was the power of dicing and redistributing content
Many professionals believe that when they have to create content, they have to do so every day from the start. But that is not true.
The last point that was discussed was the power of short form video in terms of YT shorts and TikTok
It is now about interest grabbing the person not just because of a following or subscriber account.
• It is the amount of interest and attention you can capture and keep through your creation’s merit.
• That being said, short form video is so digestible and quick that it can be consumed so much and so quick, enabling more views in a quicker amount of time, and increasing the chances for potential virality.
Whereas TikTok they want to see what is entertaining, informational or inspirational QUICKLY. When a creator figures that out, it dramatically helps their growth.
167 Million TikTok Videos Watched in an Internet Minute
Up to 300% the amount of engagement compared to other social media

Pros and cons of a complete marketing funnel
There are drawbacks to every type of marketing strategy
Marketing funnels are no exception, here are some of the biggest pros and cons of developing and utilizing a marketing funnel
You can bring Paid and Organic traffic and it can really convert!
There are so many ads but to what end?
Funnel has a straightforward path
It is not good for Google SEO
You have a place to take them
You can set clear goals and clear messages that will likely improve sales
It can take a while to get working well
You have a journey to guide them on
If optimized, it will greatly increase the conversion rate
It’s not ideal for multiple brand messages
Ability to upsell and downsell
You can improve the profitability dramatically with upsells
Then when they can’t buy the core offer, you can still offer a smaller offer (downsell) if they show interest
It can be expensive upfront
There doesn’t need to be any major changes for a long time
Most of the work is does up front, and then small bits over time
This is in addition to the website not replacing it
Simple to analyze and optimize
Each page will have it’s own analytics, so you can easily see which page is not performing well
When whichever page isn’t doing well, you can split test copy, buttons, images, etc
It is very profitable when working properly
Like I said, it can take a little while, and be slightly costly, when it is working, it can sell so much for you

5 Biggest mistakes while making videos
Many businesses know that video is the most powerful medium to convey their marketing and promotions, but many businesses don’t have a team to create videos.
So the biggest mistakes while making videos in house are:
Prioritizing the quality of the gear
Many businesses think they need to spend a lot of money to get good quality videos
Cinema equipment is unnecessary
Thinking that good looking video is a good video
There is a big difference between a good looking video and a great video
$10,000 videos is not equal to great videos
Overthinking the content and not creating
Many professionals think: ‘I don’t think it’s good enough’ or ‘it’s been done before’
As for the ‘not good enough’ is subjective, put it out there and test.
Just creating and not optimizing
The original content needs to be good and when optimized it can actually go viral, most of the time it won’t happen, but there’s a chance. Optimize by improving the thumbnail, headline, and description.
Not focusing on the story enough
Now every creation I keep in mind what the story is, what is the goal, what are the obstacles, what is the climax/end
If more professionals would add a story structure they would likely improve their retention, humans are lovers of stories.
Just think cinema, novels, shows, people are enthralled with the story, the worlds, the characters. They want to see the transformation of the character, and see the resolution of the tension set up in the story
Not having clear and relevant brand story
When it is not clear what your brand represents, it is going to be hard for others to promote the brand for you and refer other relevant clients to you.

This Tuesday we are discussing the importance of a funnel in your marketing strategy. We will go over the main things that websites do and what they don’t do. We will also cover incredible benefits of what funnels do.
P22: 5 Reasons that Funnels can be better for business than your website
We believe that websites are very valuable but so many businesses when they’re starting out put all of the effort for a website but don’t think or know about funnels
Today we will be discussing 5 reasons Funnels can be more profitable than a website
It has a clear call to action and flow
It has various actions that they can take and many different avenues they can go down
Description: On the 1st page of the funnel, (aka landing page) it will have the headline of what the person will learn. Then after the pitch there will be a clear action step for the visitor.
You can drive targeted traffic and they will likely stay and consume the message
There can be so much information that the prospect might lose focus and not move forward with anything
When the visitor is understanding what is coming they are more likely to stay for the message and willing to hear it out
The people you’re engaging with will be much more likely to take the next step
They mainly just visit out of curiosity, and are most of them are not going to do anything else
Because the visitors know why they’re there, they are much more likely to make the purchase, sign up or contact the professional
There are up-sell, down-sell and cross-sell capabilities easily doable
When it comes to websites you can disclose the pricing range but it’s usually static
For funnels you can create a message to pitch the core offer, and if they purchase that, you can offer them the premium offer.
You can easily track, measure, and see where in the funnel things broke down
Have a great amount of ability to see what visitors are looking at on your website and what they’re viewing. But you’re unsure on what headline, image or pitch turned the person off
There is a place for a website, it will be a hub of communication with prospects. BUT a funnel can work with you to educate and sell your services.

P21 How to Automate Your Video Marketing
A lot of the time people say marketing they are not talking about full automation
Systematized content creation: put in some work in the beginning and then the systems take care of the rest.
Videos are one of the best and most consumed types of media
Automation is something that is useful and that can put you far ahead of your competition
First thing that would help automating is knowing your audience
If you know the audience well then you likely know what message that would work and where to put it
Then create content for that group of people (aka your tribe)
Then you can get their feedback and then create more of what they’re asking for
Once you have the raw content then have editors edit the big chunk into a lot of valuable little pieces of content.
For optimization:
Distribute the pieces of content on RELEVANT channels
On Twitter some people might be interested on what you had for lunch, but LinkedIn that would be unprofessional.
1 minute videos for Instagram reels could be good | But 10 minutes on Instagram Stories might not be optimal
Optimize the thumbnails and description as time goes on
Have a CTA (Call to Action)

Main things to be aware of when hiring your next Video Professional
There are various things to consider when hiring a person to do your video
I. Know as much as you can about the result when conversing with a video professional
II. Shop around, the most professional looking, doesn’t mean they’re the best for you
leads to my next point
III. Not all video professionals do the editing and/or the scripting
IV. It is more costly when adding talent (aka models)
Most business videos could be done in a few hours, so the model is not that bad
It’s not necessary all the time, but it adds professionalism
V. Most video professionals know good questions, but will not know your industry exactly
We have valuable questions we can ask that work for many B2B clients
VI. The wait for Video editing is notoriously long, but it doesn’t have to be
I say this because video editing usually takes a long time
VII. Many video professionals have different styles

This Tuesday we are discussing 7 great ways to reduce cost for your ads. There are many professionals that start their marketing campaigns and then let it run with few adjustments and it costs them a lot of money that they don’t need to be wasting, we wanted to go over good ways to minimize excessive spend.
We release new podcasts every Tuesday and Friday.
7 Practical Ways to Reduce Ad Spend
I. Numbers only
A sad truth is that once they work to get your business, there are many ad managers that let it coast and don’t try that hard to maximize for much better results
II. Split Test
III. States / Region
IV. Create content catering to specific audiences
EXAMPLE: you record a specific intro saying “Hello Miami!” Then you get the keynote speech, then say “thanks for watching Miami!” and you run an ad for just Miami. And you can do the same with other big cities
V. TEST Small at first
VI. The Right KPI
VII. Cut off the Advertisement NOT the Ad group
Ad group is like the umbrella holding 5 different ad creatives
Ad group is taught and built more over time
just change the ad

This Friday we are going over the important things to consider when you're hiring your next marketing agency. We will go over industry specific concerns, and crucial points to think about to save money, time and effort working with the right vendor.
We release new podcasts every Tuesday and Friday.
7 things to be aware of when hiring your next marketing agency
Results > Looks
Some businesses spend a lot of money to look good, but give mediocre results
Detailed testimonials are much more helpful than what they say about themselves
Good communication is key
If you’re talking to them and the communication seems off, it usually doesn’t get a lot better
Bad communication in the presale >> then probably bad communication during the work process.
Their Brand is not the most important thing
If you go and try to work with a big agency, they will likely charge higher cost because they have a lot of overhead
Focus on previous experience + previous reviews
Not all agencies are the same
Data driven vs super creative vs guerilla marketing
They will likely only make decisions based on numbers. It is usually a lot more efficient
But they need data to work, and so this might hold them back or slow them down
Very abstract way to stand out and differentiate
Direct mailers, posters on the side of the road, door knocking, fliers
Usually buying from the first vendor you talk to: is a bad idea
They got to you, because they either paid a lot to be there, or they gamed the system
You will likely be able to get a better deal if you ask for inquiries amongst different companies and mention the others’ prices
Be weary of the relationship of staff with the vendor
They can be blinded by the relationship and then overspend for OK services
There are times the relationship can reduce the cost, but many times they will charge a market price, but will give you more tailored services, taking more care for you
When working with a marketing agency be mindful of their ad spend and fee percentage
Management is important, but some agencies are excessive with ad spend because they charge a % fee for ad spend
Somewhat normal, but they’re incentivized to spend more of your money, not less
But if done right, very much worth it

What Consultants do that cost them dozens of clients
And how to fix those common mistakes
I. No Follow up structure
The simple truth is that most busin- esses are unable/unwilling to buy the exact moment you approach them then they say: “Now is not the right time"
That’s why it’s crucial to have follow up sequences.
Example: You find a valuable article for their industry, you forward it to them, saying we thought this would be interesting for you
Example 2: You create a valuable video on their industry with common issues, saying this could help get past a few issues
II. Marketing system is not working with well with the sales team
As talked about in the: Business Made Simple Podcast LINK
Marketing is one Engine and the other crucial one is the other Engine Sales >> If you want to go far and fast
customer’s birthday from the sales person then send them a bottle of good wine (less than $25) for their birthday
Do you think they’ll remember you more than a faceless competitor you have?
III. Confusing Marketing Message and Bad Web Presence
Many businesses have a confusing marketing message.
Example: “We do business consulting” >> the potential customer is wondering if you have logistic solutions and they don’t want to click 5 different links to find out if you can help them or not.
Example 2: “We help companies with all their business needs” and then when they get to the website they only have 1 poor example for one of the 20 things they say they do with no testimonials.
IV. Thinking Everyone is a Competitor
Just because you can do the extra services doesn’t mean you should
If you do this consistently you could have loyal clients and good vendor relationships that are referring to you
No Follow up structure
I. No Follow up structure
II. Marketing system is not working with well with the sales team

Maximize Your Harvest: 10% Growth to 3-5x ROI
1A. There is an Inter-disciplinary rule. Which is very strange, but it is super powerful
• It spans from economics, to sociology, to agriculture and so many other topics
• There was an Italian economist: Vilfredo Pareto in 1896
• He observed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by only 20% of the population
• He also witnessed this happening with plants in his garden—20% of his plants were bearing 80% of the fruit.
1B. This is the very powerful principle I wanted to point out: Pareto Principle >> 80% of results are because of 20% of the inputs
• This means out of 10 tasks you do in a day >> 2 of them create most of the results
• After finding this out might be bittersweet for you as it was for me >> firstly, we have wasted so much time on ineffective actions
• But now moving forward I can be a lot more effective!
Most things will not work great
• Your goal is to find something that is working very well.
• After all this is saying that out of 2 dozen actions, 1 of them is responsible for most of the results
SECRET: The way you can keep it up is slight variations
• If you realize that if you find a tactic/strategy that is really good, double down on that
USE IT until it stops working.
Please remember:
Put yourself out of business before another company puts you out of business.
Quick anecdote to support the previous point:
In the early 70’s Kodak was the king of photography
• At the time they were 85 percent of camera business
• They were smart and were investing in R&D
• Because they cornered the market, they were focusing selling film paper and other of their primary products

Cut your losses
If you just take this away, then you will likely be much better off.
Even worse, that it was good for the first week >> then loses you money for 6 weeks after
it can happen, don’t be afraid to cut something that seemed good at first, but is doing bad
RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH
This might get annoying but it is crucial to give REAL value, know your people
Figure out as much as you can about your ideal customer
TEST TEST TEST
If your whole team thinks idea 1 is good and you think it’s bad, TRY IT for a limited time for a limited budget it might turn out great
Start small with your budget on unique ideas, you can always scale it up if it goes great
Creative is the variable
the ad creative is the thing that will resonate or not with the viewer, especially when direct to consumer
If you have the budget do leverage micro-influencers, hire them for creative and get them to promote it on their channels of influence
Great tagging and follow up
Tagging is the concept of having your Google tags, Facebook pixel and other social media tracking details done correctly
If you keep these key points in mind, your next campaign will improve in it’s effectiveness and will very likely save you money, time and effort.

Episode 8: How to know if a Marketing Campaign Worked, 3 Ways to Improve Results
Various things to analyze
Marketing campaigns are a marketing strategy that is time bound within certain parameters to get a specified desired result.
It is important to have a who you’re targeting, where you’re targeting, cut-off time, a budget range, and a very specific desired result.
When it comes to campaigns:
• changing any of the variable >> Changes results in a BIG or small way
We recommend: spend the most time researching your people.
The people will determine a few crucial things:
Some of the most important metrics are based on desired results.
So here are different campaign desires, and what metrics to watch for.
If you’re saying we want brand recognition:
Then follows/shares/likes would be relevant
If you’re aiming for more email sign ups:
Then CPC (cost per click, how many $’s to get one click), downloads, emails on list
If you’re aiming for sales some important metrics are:
Then CPC, conversion rate (how many viewers are turning to become customers), Customer Acquisition Cost (how much it takes to get one customer)
Ways to Boost Marketing Campaign Effectiveness:
Know your customer’s very well so you can give them a deal/special offer that will get them more likely to convert.
you wouldn’t try to sell someone tires to someone without a car
Try to find out what excites them and causes them fear, and show how your service helps with that in your ad creative
Split Test>> this is a special term meaning keep testing to the get the highest winning campaign
Create new campaign and test against old winning campaign
If you think you’re done, have someone still try to beat the old creative
Build an email list with ethical ‘bribes’ to find out who’s interested.
Hone your FB target audience based on that
We know these strategies sound great, but they take some time and expertise putting together.

Return on Investment (ROI):
Technical people: aka Return on costs is a ratio between net income and investment. A high ROI means the investment's gains compare favorably to its cost. As a performance measure, ROI is used to evaluate the efficiency of an investment or to compare the efficiencies of several different investments.
Upsell: a sales technique that encourages customers to spend more money by buying an upgraded or premium version of a product being purchased.
Down-sell: is when a seller offers a lesser and more affordable product or service when a customer is hesitant to purchase.
- example: Offering an alternative product that is more affordable to the customer but equally valuable.
Cross-sell: A sales technique involving the selling of an additional product or service to an existing customer. After purchasing one product there is another offer for a similarly priced product.
Lead Magnet: compels your site visitors to exchange information, such as their email address for access. Essentially content that drives awareness but also provides information that helps a potential customer engage and find interest in your product or service.
Conversions: The point at which a recipient of a marketing message performs a desired action. Basically, getting the viewer/visitor to respond to a call-to-action.
- Example: Paying for ads on facebook to get customers, then getting them sales.
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): is the cost of winning a customer to purchase a product or service. A company's CAC is the total sales and marketing cost required to earn a new customer over a specific time period.
Lifetime-Value (LTV): It is showing how much the customer is worth over the lifespan of the customer purchasing from them.
Unique Selling Proposition (USP): A specific and unique reason why your customers will/should be choosing to work with you rather than your competitors.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI): These are quantifiable measures of performance over time for a specific objective.
- Example: revenue, LTV, CAC, etc
Lag Indicators: A lagging indicator is a measurable factor that changes sometime after the business variable with which it is correlated changes.
Lead Indicators: define what actions are necessary to achieve your goals with measurable outcomes. They “lead” to successfully meeting overall business objectives, which is why they are called “leading”

Episode 6: How to Create Your First Very Profitable Sales Funnel
What is a sales funnel:
It’s the key to everything. Just kidding, it’s a powerful sales and marketing tool to get your prospects to become clients on Auto-Pilot. An automation tool to help get more leads and more sales.
The basic breakdown is:
• Informed them that you know their problem
• then about the solution
• then about how much value they would get from your offer
• Call to action
So let’s get started on your first Very Profitable Funnel:
It’s first Awareness getting them aware that you get their pain and you have a solution.
Create a quick digital giveaway
They click to go on Landing page saying, your PDF is coming shortly, but it has a video that starts showing them 3 core things:
Example:
Go to the purchase page and have them fill it out.
Then you have a follow landing page saying:
Then they say yes, or no.
After that you send them a thank you email saying how appreciative you were.
• For all who said no on the second offer, send them an offer in 10 days for cheaper but not as cheap as the original offer.
There you have it, there is the first funnel you can create. If you have a funnel that has a good deliverable/relevant offer/upsell offer. We can almost guarantee you will increase your profit margin on almost every sale!
We know these strategies sound great, but they take some time and expertise putting together.

Episode 5: Crucial Methods to Use to Close More High Ticket Clients
Focus on the Paint Points
For High-Ticket Sales they want something somewhat premium. If the person wanted any shirt to wear they would go to walmart and get $5-$10shirts, there is a reason they’re shopping at Nordstrom.
They’re looking for status and the job done right
Now you’re going to focus and paint a picture on what it’s like to not work with you or work with a competitor.
The types of Pain Points you want to consider are:
People will do far more to stop someone from taking their $1,000 than they will to get it initially.
Principle of Social Proof
If you can show that there are people like who you’re talking to that got the results you’re telling them, it will greatly add to the likelihood of closing business.
Things that help with social proof are if you have certifications from reputable brands
Closed mouth won’t be fed.
There are actually a lot of companies out there trying to give so much away, which is not the worst strategy.
Law of reciprocity:
Because we are social creatures we feel like giving back to those who helped us. So if you were to give a lot of relevant value then it will likely entice someone to like you more than if you did not.
It’s not “give to take”.It’s spreading seed and then reaping your harvest later. Because you eventually reap what you sow
Now set it up and wait.
A large majority of people that can buy from you are not in the market to buy right when you first meet them
We know these strategies sound great, but they take some time and expertise putting together.

Episode 3: 5 Ways Your Marketing Can 3x Your Sales
Social Media: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right hook
The first would be somewhat obvious: post on social media 3x a week with as much value you can give in a social media post on whichever platform where your clientele is
Then for the 4th post of the week let them know your services/product + who it is good for and why they should get it.
Broadcast on the popular media channels:
Go to a blog and/or podcast that you know your clientele listens to
Do this for 5-10 blogs/podcasts. If your clientele is there, it would likely be fruitful.
Affiliate Method:
Create a digital product that greatly benefits your customer
** Prep work Needed: Have: a core offer + a small cross-sell offer + a big upsell offer
Webinar Method:
Have a webinar with a lot of great content
Then let them know that you have a Core offer and also tell about Upsell offer
Email Previous Clients:
Send your existing good clients an email explaining a small cross-sell offer that has HIGH value service/product for them but it is low effort for you.
(This is my favorite strategy for easy sales!)
Put a time limit on it (actually stick to it)
If you have any other comments or questions please email us at: info@vocarstudios.com
Have a good day.
