Danielle
I am an LGBTQ+ game designer located in Springfield, MA. Currently, I work for Underdog Games as their Head of Kids Game Design & Development where I help inspire curiosity designing family games. Beyond my day job, I am the host of a podcast called “Game Design Unboxed: Inspiration to Publication” hosted on the Know Direction Network. In the podcast I talk with tabletop game designers on specific games or series of games they have created. Listeners will learn where the initial idea for the game came from, how the game developed over time and where the game is now after being published. I am also an Officer with Tabletop Gaymers promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion by championing the visibility and recognition of the LGBTQIA+ community through tabletop gaming. I also volunteer as an admin for Board Game Broads+ which is a space for women, gender non-conforming, non-binary and trans folks in the tabletop game industry on Facebook. Plus, I am on the board of Unpub helping plan/run playtesting spaces and panels at conventions. I’m also a mentor for the Tabletop Mentorship Program and volunteer for Women in Games International and the Young Inventor Challenge hosted by the People of Play Conference. I kinda live and breathe gaming!

Bruce Brown is the President of Tabletop Alliance, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) gaming nonprofit that furthers the use of games in education and community programs. Tabletop Alliance does this by cultivating local leaders from coast to coast by providing free game kits as well as connecting them within a support network of other educators and community leaders. Bruce is an avid hobby gamer who besides working/teaching at a large university he is also in the final stages of completing a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development with his dissertation research focused on nonprofit management.

Usually, I am smiling while keeping busy. I am easyily to excited and always happy to start new projects. Lately, I am working as an outdoor and climbing trainer outside of my work for Gaia Games. Gaia Games is an idealistic and sustainable game publisher from Germany, And we mean it! For example, a few days ago we packed 2000 bags of organic beans to use as tokens in our newest game, cause producing extra game tokens didn´t seem reasonable to us. We are also developing most of our games on our own. Our main goal is to create "edutaining" games on topics which are important to us.

Tom De La Garza is a YouTuber with a channel specializing in board game tutorials and reviews. Tom was introduced to the board game community and hobby in 2015 by stumbling onto the Tabletop series on Geek & Sundry's YouTube channel. Since that day of binge watching, he was hooked! He originally was hoping to open a local board game cafe, but the pandemic pushed that dream more into the future. In the meantime, Tom still wanted to spread his love of games and bring more people into the hobby, so the A Bored Gamer channel was born. “A Bored Gamer” is a play on words for people that love to play games to escape the monotony of boredom. The channel focuses on how to play and review videos utilizing cinematic introduction sequences to help pull viewers into the world of the game. His content speaks to both seasoned board gamers and casual players just starting their gaming journeys.

Stephen Machuga
Stephen “Shanghai Six” Machuga is a 1998 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Russian linguistics on an ROTC scholarship. Captain Machuga is a former Army Infantry/Military Intelligence officer and Airborne Ranger, having spent the majority of his service at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Division. In 2003, he deployed to Iraq with 2nd Infantry Division and whittled through the seemingly endless 13-month deployment with the help of video games.
Machuga left the service in 2006, where he spent 10 years in Washington DC as a government counter-terrorism analyst across a variety of agencies, doing charity work on the weekends. Over time, the weekend charity work was where he realized that he had found his true calling, and has since picked up and moved the entire organization to Los Angeles, where the opportunities in the games and entertainment industry are everywhere.

Which is why we decided to name the company, B.A. Games. B.A. stands for Brothers Awesome. I was young, it was the 90s, and I really loved to listen to MC Hammer. I made a rap about how we were the Brothers Awesome and I have been mocked and ridiculed since. However, it morphed into a term of endearment and we made our company , Brothers Awesome Games.
