Another episode to delight your ears
This episode out travels take us to the deep south of Aotearoa New Zealand. To a distant city inhabited by a hardy bunch of Blood Bowlers. In this isolated and mystical place -- while the horizontal sleet flies by -- Mr Trickey plies his trade and rallies the Blood Bowl coaches to his clarion call! "Sleeping Giants awaken!!"
And awaken they have with the first ever Otepoti Bowl our newest additions to the Blood Bowl tournament scene here in our beautiful motu. Dunedin finally gets a full 11s tournament and its fair to say it has got Trickey a little over excited. So to calm him down we have given him this episode to tell us all about it. He is joined by Toffer and guest presenters Claymore and Morag (two of the tournament's attendees). So sit back and listen to tales of clashing Giants, sneaky Gnomes and the tales of our well known heroes. Of Gil the Great, Deep Thinking Arlo, Mushoomy the Mind Breaker, Claymore the Ball Loser and Morag the Crowd Surfer.
As always,

Kia Ora Coaches and welcome to episode 30!! of Powtearoa
This episode your usual professional crew are ably assisted by Jesse and (a little late) Mushoomy.
We have had a good rummage in our respective vegetable patches and managed to rustle up gnome teams. We have had a bit of a play and here we discuss our findings.
Mushy is also able to fill us in on the upcoming 10th annual Capital Shield tournament in sunny Paraparaumu (Get along people, its a blast!)
So is Big Rod the new Puggy? And will we all be ditching our sheep riding Halflings for a new fangled Gnome on a Stag? Or is this the arrival of some potential massed Star Player cavalry?
Keep rolling Pow!

Another Powtearoa episode for you. This time your usual crew are joined by Bobsol and griffonz to tell us about the groundbreaking Bay of Plenty tournament. A massive number turned up for this event with a huge 12 coaches for whom this was their first tabletop tournament. Bobsol joins us to discuss this as he was among that group. Though he has been a part of our online scene for ages he is new to the tabletop tournament scene and we wanted his take on things. We also go back over some of the Gnome information we have recently received.
Aroha Mai for the lateness of this one. Took me longer to edit than intended.
Thanks for listening everyone. Loving the continued feedback. Keep it coming.

or something like that
This episode we are joined by oldhammeraotearoa Jesse from ChriBBL who is here with the rulespack for this years Powtearoa Provincial Champs. We have a good deep dive in to the pack and the tiers in particular.
We also take a quick tour of what is happening around some of the bigger centres in their leagues as we move into the 2nd quarter of 2024. Also, nice to see a new Jordell model!

This episode we are joined by another big name in our hobby, Babs!
Babs will be a name known to many after his work with Aussie BB and several stints working with NAF on various projects. These days he resides in Queensland but in the early days of Oceanic Blood Bowl he was part of a group who ran the first Trans Tasman BB tournament in Wellington in 1997! Take note those of you organising the Pav data. There is information to be mined here.
Babs joins us to discuss the new Gnome team and also to provide us with tales from the 90s, noughties and today. There are a lot of big name drops and some interesting historical musings. Thnks again for your continued listening! Keep playing Blood Bowl.

Kia Ora NZ Blood Bowl fans!
This episode we are joined by Owen/NZ Demon who recently attended his first NAF tournament. He brings us his rundown of the recent STUBBL 11s tournament. Brought to us by the boys from Palmerston North. This tournament has gone from strength to strength and is now a major part of the NZ Blood Bowl scene. Owen tells us about the highs and highs of his awesome weekend.
Meanwhile in the deep south The Dunedinites managed a small but perfectly formed tournament based on the FUMBBL Secret League teams and our own Trickey is able to give us the run down on how Ninjas and Sharks find their way onto a Blood Bowl pitch occasionally.

Kia Ora Powtearoaeans!
Back again for another episode of NZ's favourite Blood Bowl related Podcast!
Another first for us this week as we are joined by one of our comrades from across the Tasman. GeorgieChristo beams in via the interwebs from the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia.
Georgie and Ramchop have been concocting something to bring our nations a little closer together while also allowing us to beat each other to a bloody pulp on the astrogranite!! Our amazing NAF rep Claymore has crunched the numbers and joins us to so they can both announce this new addition to our Blood Bowl lives.
Speaking of ideas, Trickey has decided we should all be playing with 2500TV rosters so we can see what happens when we get heaps as gold to spend. Have a great rest of February everyone.

Happy 20224 Blood Bolwers! Welcome back to Powtearoa!
This episode we are jointed by ChriBBL's Jesse and the ever elusive and often commented on Ramchop is here with us in our special Powtearoa recording studio (definitely not just a Discord chat we recorded).
We look at whats happening in NZ Blood Bowl this coming year and Jesse and Ramchop bring us some super secret and massively exciting news about the year ahead! Will Trickey, Toff and Welshy be able to handle it?!
Have a great 2024 everyone. See you on the pitch.

Meri Kirihimete!
The Powtearoa Provincial Chaps have happened and Toffer and Welshy were there. We are also joined by friend of the show Mushoomy to get feedback on what went on in Wellington this month. Trickey is here too feeling suitably left out.
We continue to ask the bog questions. Are Re-Rolls really needed? Who is Dadchop? Do we really need music at the start and end of the episode?
Have a great end of the year everyone and we will see you all at our various leagues and tournaments in 2024!

The Powtearoa Provincial Chaps are nearly upon us and following a massive amount of work from players, organisers and roster checkers we can now see everyone's teams!
So lets have a look at who is doing what with who in the first ever PPC!
Massive thanks to Mushy, Ramchop and their roster checking team in Aussie for getting this job rushed through in record time.
Has Welshy been sneaky and got everyone thinking Halflings are the way to go? Has Sandune got us all thinking Underworld is the way forward or will a no re-roll Khorne team take the cake? We shall see.......

This episode we hear about the recent Mainland Bowl tournament in the Garden City. We are joined by Josh, Trickey and Welshy all of whom participated.
We go through their team builds and games at the event. All under the watchful gaze of a sneaky interloper in the form of a hidden Tim.
So how did they do? Can a Minotaur Leap? How did Welshy reach the dizzy heights of mid table? Lets find out together.

We're back!
Aroha mai if the wait has been a bit long but we have not been able to connect with each other for a month or so due to Toffer being overseas. But we are back!
This episode, Arlo kindly takes time out of his busy life to tell us about the 2023 Orcs Bay Horn tournament that took place recently. With some cool special rules and players this was an opportunity to try a few new things.
So what happened? Well listen to the episode and you will find out.
We also take the time to quickly plug the upcoming Mainland Bowl and talk about the long awaited Vampire team and Roster.
Keep rolling Pow's!

This episode Trickey and Toffer have pulled off a coup and managed to corner Sandune in a villa in Portugal to tell us all about his World Cup V exploits last week. Our first ever international episode! And its harder to get further from Aotearoa than Lisbon!
So how did he do? Who did he meet? Were jandels de rigueur?
A storied episode with minimal requirements for Toffer and Trickey to be involved. We were kind of hanging on every word really. :)
So who's up for TEAM KIWI 2027!

Right! Back to the admin. None of this fun and interesting stories from Tim stuff this time. Just long winded procedural discussions. Just like we like them!
So our intrepid commentators Trickey, Welshy and Toffer get back to looking a the World Cup rule set unencumbered by BigBullies this time (we promise we will let him come back again someday). So sit back as we let you know what to expect in Alicante.
Best of luck to our own Team Kiwi, Nick and James. Have fun fellas. We wish we were there.
A lot of this episodes data comes from this webpage here https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/mike.sann0638.davies/viz/NAFWorldCupVRosters/Introduction?publish=yes delivered to us by NAFs own Sann0368.

Honestly we tried. We really did!
All we wanted was a nice simple episode about the World Cup in Alicante next month. It was all going so well as well.
But we invited Tim.
And as you will hear, things sort of fell apart from the moment he arrived. We love him. But he derailed us. As you will hear we start on task but....
So sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labours, as we are joined by BigBullies himself. Hear all about 5 cans and the Lucca World Cup of 2015. We will continue our breakdown of the actual rule set etc in episode 18. Thanks for listening and a bit thank you to our most recent guest Tim.

Kia Ora Blood Bowling Kiwis!
Welshy is back in our very own land of the long white cloud and has details of an upcoming one-dayer in Christchurch later this month. The rules pack is similar to Greenstone this year so we are able to put together some team rosters for your delectation. Tricky has also been playing games in the busy world of Board Gaming in The South.
Are Toffer or Trickey correct about Wood Elves? Do Halfings really need re-rolls? Are games just more fun if you only roll 1's? Who knows? We do!

Kia Ora Blood Bowlers of Aotearoa!
We are back! took a little longer to get the edits done this time but we are here! This episode we are joined by DM who gives us the full story on where Blood Bowl is at in the City of Sails. Some major historical name drops can be heard as we take a stroll through the league and look ahead to Greenstone. We also hear what has been happening in Dunedin and on our various FUMBBL leagues from our very own Trickey! Stay tuned to the end where we learn that Trickey is a cultured and edumacated gentlemen rather than what we all thought he was (don't lie you were thinking it too!).

Powtearoa is back again to bring you all that is awesome in our corner of the world.
This episode we look at the recent outcome of the Eucalyptus Bowl just accross the Tasman Sea in Sydney.
We also have not one but two very special guests in the form of Arlo and Josh from the Hawkes Bay who are able to give us a run down of what is happening in HawBBL.
Then we have a quick look at the recent arrival of Gutter Bowl!

Kia Ora everyone
This episode we discuss how Mike and Toffer got on at the 9th Capital Shield Tournament recently held at the Paraparaumu Boating Club on the amazing Kapiti Coast.
We ask the questions... Is it possible to cause most Casualties and still win Best Sport? What shouldn't you do with a Block Mino? Is it possible to be too loud in a Paraparaumu restaurant? and, how can we disappoint Ramchop?

This month we take a nice look into Welshy's extensive social life and find out what is happening in Christchurch (ChrBBL) our largest NZ Blood Bowl League. 26 coaches you know!!
We also hear from Trickey about the state of play in our various FUMBBL leagues.
Apologies for the sound issues last episode. We think we have things ironed out now though.
Good Luck to everyone at CAS this weekend in Paraparaumu!

Sadly no Welshy this episode but we have been joined by two fantastic friends of the show. From Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington we have Mushoomy and from Te Matau-a-Māui Hawkes Bay we have Arlo. Both are here to offer their thoughts on the recent announcement of the Powtearoa Provincial Championship coming up this December!
We also have a chance to look at the upcoming Capital Shield in Paraparaumu and a bit of league chat based on the tables that have been recently uploaded to the Discord Channel.
Will Mushoomy stay sober long enough to finish a game? Will Tricky make a decision on which roster to use? Is Arlo in charge? and can Toffer just stop banging on about Plymoutrh Argyle?
Beware, Mushy uses rude words in this episode! We would have cut them out but it was too funny to remove. Also for some reason a few sound issues in this episode. Hmm...
Who knows...
Have fun and don't roll skulls!

A quick turn around this time. 2 episodes in a single month. We must be getting better at this stuff. No Welshy or Happy_Amateur sadly so you will need to accept the dulcet tones of Toffer, Tricky and Arlo.Phoenix who has once again agreed at short notice t help us out. He also has several apologies to make apparently.
This episode is dedicated to our leagues her in Aotearoa/NZ. We look at the current standings in HawBBL, ABBL, WBBL, MarBBL, DBBL and BLITZ (the BoP League) we also hear from Trickster regarding the long awaited Dunedin tournament in June.
Hope you hear yourselves mentioned. if not give us a shout and we can always talk about what you are up to in your own corner of BBNZ next time.
Thanks for listening.

Kia Ora. A messy Podcast to end the year (sorry, tech issues). Please excuse some of the editing misteps. This month we have a discussion about some of the upcoming Christmas goodies from GW and we also do a deep dive into last November's Mainland Bowl NAF tournament in Christchurch that Toffer attended and Welshy helped to organise.
We hope to return to you sometime in Feb or March as we all have a busy holiday period ahead visiting whanau etc. Have a great Christmas everyone and give us a shout if you have any ideas for 2023.

Kia Ora Powtearoa fans. We have reached episode 5! Sadly, we are down two of our regular reporters this week. Welshy and Happy couldn't make it. However, this gives us the great opportunity to bring in our very first guest presenter. Wellington's own Mushoomy!
Mushoomy will be telling us all about how he came third at Orcs Bay Bowl with Goblins. That amazing result is in stark contrast to Trickey's latest tabletop exploits.
We also discuss the up-coming Hard Knocks one day tournament in Wellington and, while we have one of their players in the chat, we have a bit of a look at what's happening in the Wellington league.
Hoping to host many more guests in the future. Thanks for joining us Mushoomy.
Episode 4 is the sum of its parts. First we look at our own gaming and painting in our regular 'On the Table' segment. Then we look at the results from this years NZ Major NAF tournament, The Greenstone Cup. We take a look at what is happening in a few of NZ's Blood Bowl leagues before finally looking forward to next month's Mainland Bowl in Christchurch with our proposed team builds. Sadly no Happy this episode but Toffer, Trickey and Welshy are on hand to brighten your BB day!

In episode 3 the fearsome foursome catch up to discuss the role of Star players in the 2020 rule-set. Good or bad? You be the judge. But...well...we can be the judge too. Also, what is the tournament set up for Da Orcs Bay 3 and what teams would we take if we could get there?

We made a second one. Aren't we clever. In this episode we chat about how to start and manage a tabletop league and we find out if Trickey can create the perfect Greenstone Cup winning team for next month's Auckland major tournament..
Why is Happy_Amateur hiding in Trickey's closet? Is Welshy the king of Puns? Can Toffer actually complete a sentence? All will be revealed.
Please note we recorded this a couple of weeks ago and since then Ramchop has totally got WBBL back up and running because he is awesome.

Our intrepid NZBB'ers try their hand at Podcasting for the very very first time. Will it be any good? You be the judge.
