My friend Jasmine Anessa! The first guest to come into the studio, and what a joy it was to speak with her!! I admire how Jasmine always try’s to have a positive mindset approach to life. Instead of being upset or down, she looks at the positives and moves on. For example, after going through bullying in school, Jas, kept moving forward, keeping herself busy, and not letting the experience hold her back. This is episode #13 with Jasmine Anessa. Enjoy! As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Gravitated Arts Presents:

Nyaduoth Lok (Official Interview)

Host: Aleer Kurt

Nyaduoth Lok, who I discovered on Instagram late last year, is a College basketball player — for George Washington University. From Ethiopia, to Melbourne Australia, to Washington America. Basketball has been quite good to her. Giving her the ability to play and study in the States, as well as an opportunity — two years ago to Captain and play for her national team, South Sudan. A strong characteristic I noticed from Nya, is her ability to not let setbacks or negativity put her down. For example, a few years ago when she told an Aunty her dreams for basketball, she was told, “wow, that is not a dream. You should just get married.” Instead of letting the comment defeat her. She kept playing, and following her dreams. If you don’t know Nyaduoth, this is her story, and if you know her, I hope you may learn something new. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Gravitated Arts Presents:

JayZoo (Official Interview)

Host: Aleer Kurt

To help start Season 2, welcome my first guest, JayZoo. From South Korea, Jay grew up an only child. Much of his early life, was lonely and dark. But as a child, JayZoo developed a confidence within himself, that has pushed him throughout life. I don't think the new season could've started any better. There is so much to learn from this mans story. For example, the advice his father gave him, about "being first to do the dirty work." Or his "knocking on doors," technique, when starting out. To hear these and more, hit play, and enjoy. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Everybody needs love. The three greatest forms of love. 1 Gods love. 2 Self love. 3 The love you give to others. In this episode, I touched on the importance of love. The difficulty of not receiving love. And how to respond to the difficulty. I hope these Journaley episodes are of an interest to you guys, as much as the interviews are. As always, stay safe, love Ga.

For this episode, I got someone from Fiverr to help out. And so would love to hear feedback afterwards. There were a few spots where voices overlapped. But outside of that, I feel they did a better job than I could've done on my own.

Now about Terry. I'm fortunate to have someone like Terry in my life. Even though we only met at the end of last year, I feel I've known him forever. Such a kind, humble, people first type of person.

He is a son, a brother, a friend, and a volunteer/club president - whose sacrifice and efforts for those around him, can easily be seen a few moments into meeting him.

I thank Terry for his honesty within this episode; in opening up about the parts in his journey that weren't always the easiest, for him and his family.

I hope you enjoy listening to Terry. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

I wish I didn't have to write this message, but technology has let me down:(

When trying to upload episode 9 with Terry, I received a few failed schedule emails.

I tested scheduling a sample post, and that worked. But episode 9, what I needed, wouldn't upload.

I haven't resolved the issue yet. However, when the program gives me the green light, the new release date will be posted on the social media pages.

I'm really sorry for those who wanted this one. Will keep you updated.

As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

One of the best things to have in your life is a mentor. Someone you can go to when the world overwhelms you. Or when you might feel lost. And just need a bit of guidance. Stress and a whole lot of other things will always interrupt your day. But with a mentor, they can help you work your way out of your mind, and back into reality. Wherever you are, thank you for stopping by. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Mutaz El Nour! Is a promising footballer out of Melbourne. A defender with exceptional intercepting abilities. Who recently intercepted my attention. Literally. A week before the interview I was on instagram, when a video captured my attention. It was a short piece, covering the young talents footballing dreams. I was intercepted. I was inspired! I wanted to hear more! So I reached out to the guy. The rest... well, your about to find out. Without spoiling anything, I really enjoyed Mutaz answer when I asked, if he has travelling aspirations for the future. I wasn't expecting that answer. But it says a lot about who he is. And what's important to him. You can find the answer, around the 17:50 mark. I hope you enjoy this episode. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Basketball. Faith. Lessons. I was 16, when I first watched Jeremy Kendle play ball. At the time we were strangers. A supporter, watching an athlete. 7 years later and we have an interview together. Unreal how God works. I hope you enjoy this episode. And that you are able to take something away from it. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Focused. Persistent. Inspirational. Humble. These are just some of the words that come to mind, when thinking about Leek. A major discussion point within this interview; was his persistence to follow his dream of becoming a professional AFL player, despite all the setbacks he endured along the way. After draft night, what stood out to him,  wasn't the success in being drafted, rather, the process it took to get there. If your an athlete, who may struggle with injuries, I hope you push through. Don't give up because of setbacks. Leek in his draft year (2019) went down with a 14 month injury. But two years later, got drafted in round 1 at pick 15, to the Greater Western Sydney, Giants. Don't give up on your dreams. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Gravitated Arts has a lot to do with younger people. In the sense that, the content is made with them in mind. It was a blessing speaking to Abiba. With her countless years working beside youths, she shared so much knowledge around difficult situations many may face every day. Like building connection between youth and adults. How to assist youths. Abiba, also openly shared about her own walk in life. Moments she was at her lowest. The time she faced racism from her own people. And drifting in life around year 10. I myself learnt a lot in this episode. I hope you enjoy! As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Over the past few weeks, stress has been my worst enemy. But thankfully, two things have kept me moving forward. Gratitude and Disconnecting. Wherever you may be at in life, I feel these two things can help in your everyday life as well. As good as they are for stress relief, they can help in general. Take the time to give thanks. And take the time to disconnect from the world around you. I hope you enjoy. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

One Sunday night I came across a picture of Hadeel and Zimra, in that moment I thought; it be cool one day to have a conversation with Zim, around her life and AFL. Funny enough, a day or two later I get a message, “waiting for my invite on the pod.” It was Zimra. I thought she was playing though haha. Once I knew she was being serious, we made it happen! I’ve always respected, and been greatly inspired by this young lady, and after sitting down and hearing her speak, I left even more inspired. If you’ve ever wondered about Zimra's story, here you are:) the inspiring girl from Pakistan 🇵🇰 Remember, as always, stay safe. Love Ga.

Some Gems. Purpose and Action. I tried reflecting on two messages I heard in the past. The first from the book Legacy, by James Kerr. The second, from a Denzel Washington speech. I don't know if I captured the meanings accurately, but I hope my explanations were enough, for you to spend sometime reflecting on the messages. Reflecting how maybe, you could implement them into your life. Wherever you are, I hope you have a wonderful day/night. Stay safe. Love Ga.

I think this episode will always be special, not just for it being the first female featured episode; but because of the lessons I learnt from Emma. I wanted to do what I'm doing now (podcasting), mainly because of my love for stories. But Emma reminded me of the importance of listening. Being able to listen to what others have to say, and I guess, being someone people can talk to. How important listening is, is what I learnt. And I hope in the future I can practise and get better at listening. That was my lesson. If you have a listen to this episode, I bet you will walk away with something new, from Emma's story. She's an awesome lady! Throughout the episode, we spoke about her many visits to Africa. Her early days, in Brisbane. And her list she wrote in year 11, envisioning her future husband, just to name a few things. Enjoy! As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

I spoke a little about this topic, in the very first episode, "Gravitated Arts: Not About I." However, I wanted to go into detail about an important point brought up in the episode. My G.O.A.T, my Hall of Famer. The goat of my life. Jesus Christ. This episode is dedicated to the man upstairs. Beliefs and things like that can be confusing at times. But I hope, my reason for believing could help someone who may not understand, why someone may believe. In the end, everyone has a belief, and I hope you may respect those around you. Regardless of their belief, respect others, and treat people how you would like to be treated. As always, stay safe. Love Ga.

The first time I met Reuben William's, was back in 2013. We both competed in a one day football competition in Brisbane. Less than four years later, Reuben went from playing Div 3/2 football, to being picked up by the Brisbane Lions. His favourite childhood AFL team. Somehow, almost 10 years later, chances would have it that here we are on a podcast together. It's fascinating how life works. I must admit, leading up to the occasion I was quite nervous aye! But nonetheless, I greatly enjoyed this episode. We covered what it was like in his early days. Going from South Sudan to Darwin. We touched on some hardships. Like being d-listed early in his career. We spoke about the future, what he will like to be known for one day. And so much more. His current favourite Rapper, Rod Wave. Favourite food, sushi. Favourite... Press play and tune in for more!

As always, stay safe, love Ga.

A bit of a new project idea. Journaley episodes. Coming from a writing background, there was nothing like letting out words on a particular topic. Fortunately now, with the podcast, I can speak my mind. I hope you's enjoy this new approach to the podcast. In this opening episode, I go back to a time I used to struggle with a bad habit. Whoever you are, I hope that you never go through this habit. And if your going through it, I hope you overcome it. Stay safe. Love Ga.

The Debut interview! The first ever interview I ever did was earlier in the year, with my little brother over the kitchen table. A few months later, and the first podcast interview premiers. Mr Rex Finedon, has such a great story. From his difficult childhood, to stumbling into faith. To his marriage, to his time in the army. This man has had an interesting journey. Before I let you listen, big thank you to Margaret Agoth, who wrote an article some years ago, that I used for research ahead of my interview.
