I was sitting in a meeting yesterday here in Tuscan, Arizona, and one of the board members asked the question, ‘When did the penny drop for you?’ So, simply meaning, when did you know you were working in your purpose, using your talent, your gift to impact humanity. What a powerful question.”

View Details

“Job seeker, if you ever have a moment where you are not confident about who you are, and what’s happening, here’s what I want you to know…Everything you need to succeed is inside of you. The moment you recognize that, you will understand that you should never lose your confidence because you are absolutely, positively brilliant. Why? Because Simon says so.”

View Details

“Guess what? Do what you love. I have taken risks, and 20 years later I am so happy that I am in love with what I do because it still feels like day one. When you take that risk to do what you love, you live from the inside out, and when you live from the inside out, you move from joy to love to ecstasy in making a difference every single day in what you do.”

View Details

“Peace. I speak peace over your life today. In fact, I’m going to pray for you.”

View Details

“There’s a difference between being a human being and a human doing. Right now, on the planet, there is an entire shift to really move towards becoming human centric and human centered. A human centered organization recognizes the whole person, the entire individual, and creates a psychologically safe environment for people to show up with all the vicissitudes of life, death, financial hardship, and they come into this professional environment with personal things that’s weighing on them. How do we humanize that experience?”

View Details

“Here is your next crush 2024 tip! Be you. That’s right. Be your authentic self. Do it the way that you would do it. Do it better than you have ever done it before. When you understand how to be you, you decide that you are not going to copy anyone else because you are an original.”

View Details

“So, this whole thing of kindness, letting go of ego, moving to eco, engaging, caring only is really understanding that every moment matters. Every moment counts. So, how do I practice self-love? How do I practice gratitude? How do I practice surrender? When you do, you are literally setting the tone to create an environment of kindness because everyone is going to feed off of how you’re showing up.”

View Details

“At the end of today, I want to invite you to write down what is right about you. When you do, you will be able to zoom back and say, ‘What?!?!’ That’s right!”

Guest Appearance presented by Emily Haruko Leeb: “This is Emily Haruko Leeb, one of your brilliant coaches and your Brilliant Coaching™ concierge here to tell you a little bit about one of the ingredients you need to crush 2024, and that is commitment! Really the opportunity for you to redefine what the word commitment means to you, to establish and reignite what commitment means in your life. What I mean by that is taking a couple excerpts from Shearson Lehman American Express’ definition that a commitment is the thing that transforms a promise into a reality. It is the actions that speak boldly of your intentions. It is the stuff character is made of. It is the ability to show up time after time after time, year after year after year. Remember that a commitment is the thing that you follow through with long after the mood that you’ve set the commitment in has fleeted. So, we’re really encouraging you to reestablish what it means to be committed.”

View Details

“I want to invite you to practice gratitude. What are you thankful for? For me, I’m thankful for my health. I’m thankful for my family. I’m thankful for work that I love, and it’s starting with that attitude of gratitude that creates fortitude. So, when I start with a grateful heart, a grateful disposition, I am literally setting the tone for how I want to show up that day.

View Details

“15 minutes a day. The first 5 minutes, I want to invite you to meditate, relax, take a deep breath, get centered. Inhale for 3 seconds, exhale for 7 seconds. Second five minutes, I want to invite you to read something that inspires you, that lifts you up. Then the third five minutes, stretch or get aligned with the day because what 15 minutes a day does, that routine, that ritual, you discover how you start the day determines the day.”

View Details

“How do you manage burnout? It simply starts with a decision where you say here’s what I have discovered about where I am in my journey right now, and no matter what happened yesterday, I am going to find the silver lining by asking myself what went well, instead of focusing on what’s wrong and didn’t go well. The reframing allows you to begin to discover how you can control where you are, and not worry about things that are out of your control. So, managing burnout is just this decision that you know what, I am going to focus on what is right in front of me. I am going to do it so that I become better tomorrow.”

Simon: “I am flawed beyond belief. I am perfectly imperfect. I am just a human being trying to figure it out one day at a time. That’s my story.”

Interviewer: “All of us, right? We’re going on this journey together, trying to navigate life and all of its up and downs. What’s worked? What hasn’t worked? Being really authentic and vulnerable in sharing so.

Simon: “Well, I think for so long, I had a mask on. I had a need to be needed. Nobody really got to know the real me. Let’s just like be real and put all the cards on the table.”

Interviewer: “And how is that working out for you?”

Simon: “You know what? I can actually say I feel alive, and I feel free because what I’ve discovered is when you find your spark, you find your joy. When you find your joy, you find your voice. When you find your voice, you find your freedom and it is so liberating to live from the inside out.”

“Hello O’ Brilliant Thriver, or what I like to say, O’ Brilliant One! I am Simon T. Bailey, and I am here to share with you your first tip for crushing 2024. Here it is: Write down what is right about you. Then, step back and decide what you can do to have a 5-star day. The first thing to consider in creating a 5-star day is to have breakfast with a friend. What would it be like the second day to write a handwritten note or send an email or make a video about yourself that you send to yourself? That’s right! Whenever you have days and things are going on, you go back to what is right instead of what is wrong because you have the ability, as you crush 2024, to really think about how do I make this a 5-star day?”

View Details

“Here’s what I know to be true. When you find your purpose, people will begin to show up and aid you and help you, almost as if they have been summoned to you. When we see an understanding of ourselves, we’re better able to take control in forging our career path. Uncover your DNA. Look for those clues and get ready to release your brilliance on the world.”

View Details

“Hello O’ Brilliant Thriver! I have a life hack for you, and this is something that I practice every single day, every other day. I don’t miss a week of doing this, and that is to find an inspirational quote that just breathes life into you. So, one of the quotes that is in my journal that I read is, ‘Value will never be established by how many one serves, but by how well one serves many.’ That is from Mother Teresa. When I read a quote like this or similar quotes, it allows me to just keep the main thing the main thing, and to think about how do I make this quote come alive today?

View Details

“Did you know that in the dictionary failure comes before success? That’s right! So, no matter what failure you have experienced, you will eventually move towards success. Just embrace the failure.”

“I found out a long time ago that when you find your spark, you find your joy. When you find your joy, you find your voice. When you find your voice, you find your freedom. Prior to me finding my freedom or my voice, I was, at best, an annoying echo instead of a person with an original voice. I was comparing myself with everyone else, and when you compare yourself, you end up having the disease called comparison inferiority complex. John Mason in the book called ‘An Enemy Called Average’ said, ‘Most people are born originals, but they die copies.’ When I read this quote, I said to myself, ‘You know what? Average does not live here anymore. I’m done.’ That is when I took off the layers and decided to just be my authentic self.”

View Details

“Brilliance is your insight, your potential, your genius, and your it factors. When you find your brilliance, you find the thing that sparks you to live from the inside out. So, brilliance is finding the combination to the vault of you. You open the vault from the inside out and when you open it from the inside out, you wake up every single day to give joy, not to take. To ask, not to tell. To listen, not to hear. You are in your brilliance. Here’s the other thing. You are not threatened by anyone else who might outshine you because you are on your journey at the pace you’re going.”

“This is the age of the woman. Any business that’s going to be worth its salt must have women leading or co-leading the discussion. Why? Women have this ability to look at a problem with a 360-degree view, whereas, in some things, men are very linear in their approach. That’s number one. Number two, all the rage is AI, ChatGPT, which is nice, but it will never replace WI, women’s intelligence. Women have a sixth sense of knowing about something that the data doesn’t reveal. Number three is according to all the research when women are leading or co-leading, or at least involved in moving something forward, there is a positive net net bottom-line impact because women are going to make sure that everybody benefits from the outcome of whatever is being done.”

“AI is so wonderful. I have used ChatGPT, it is wonderful, and we are just at the very beginning. If we remember the Internet when it first launched in the 90s, this is kind of like the beginning of AI, it is only going to get better. But here’s the thing; it also forces us as human beings to tap into our own creativity because something that AI will never have is that spontaneity, that creative spark, that idea that only humans have the ability to bring to the earth. So, what I am so excited about is there are five skills that LinkedIn, which has almost 900 million people on its platform, has identified that are critically important. The five skills are creativity, adaptability, collaboration, storytelling, and emotional or social intelligence.”

“Business tip for you: Always Be Connecting (ABC). I’m in Toronto and I just reconnected with a friend of mine that I used to work with at Disney, and we got together the last time about 10 years ago for a quick bite to eat. Today, we reconnected, and I specifically shared with her the new business project that I am working on and I said, ‘I need your help.’ She said, ‘Absolutely.’ So, when I talk about ABC, always be connecting, who’s the one person that you can reach out to and connect with? I didn’t ask for something, but I also had something to give and share. So, today’s business tip is who can you serve today as you ask for help, and when you do it, make sure you say thank you for that follow-up because you never know what it might lead to. That’s your business tip for today.”

“Elevating how you do what you do every single day comes down to ‘How do we win the moment?’ Roger mentioned yesterday about playing to win, and when he said it, I made a little mental note and I said, ‘If you’re playing to win before you can truly win the game as you elevate your game, you have to win the moment.’ Once you win the moment you, can win the minute. When you win the minute, you can win the hour. When you win the hour, you can win the day. When you win the day, you can win the week. When you win the week, you can win the month. When you win the month, you can win the quarter. When you win the quarter, you can win the year. How many are tracking with me so far?”

“Self-improvement starts with a daily decision: How do I choose to be better today than the day before? Recently, I learned to swim and I had not swum for a really long time because I almost drowned when I was 8 and I had the trauma of ‘I’m going to drown again.’ But I pushed that out of my way and signed up for swimming classes at the YMCA. In the first class, I didn’t do so well, but I showed up for the second class, the third class, and the fourth class, and then when I wasn’t going to class, I was still doing laps every single day. I was improving from one lap to three laps to five laps. Now I am up to 10! It all started with the decision to improve one day at a time. What can you do today to improve yourself because that’s where the brilliance happens?”

“Being productive is understanding the difference between being effective and being busy. So, today what do you need to accomplish? I want to invite you to create a list. Not a list of 20 things you need to accomplish because you’re not going to accomplish them. The fire drill will happen, you’ll get a phone call, you’ll get a text, and it’ll totally throw your entire day out of whack. So, what would it be like to create a list of three to five high-value things that you need to do as you begin to go through the day? Check those off and guess what! You’ll probably surprise yourself that you’ll get through all five. When you do, then start a new list, but make the list the night before for what you’re going to do the next day. That’s how you take control of your day instead of letting others take control of the day for you. So, being productive is how you ensure that you’re doing what you need to be done in order to get the results you want to have.”

“When I practice kindness by starting with myself the first 15 minutes of the day, 15 minutes a day impacts seven days a week. Seven days a week then creates 30 days, and 30 days creates 90 days. So, how did I get to the quarter? Reverse engineer. What have I been doing for the last 90 days? How have I been practicing self-love, practicing gratitude, and practicing surrender? That created 30-60-90. How did I get there? What have I been doing for the last seven days? How did I get there? What have I been doing with 15 minutes a day? So, how you start the day determines the day. Before you even leave your residence, I want you to start with yourself because when you show up, you set the tone for the environment.”

“One life hack for me is I’m a list person. I make a list of what I need to accomplish for the day. I do my best to keep a list of no more than five to seven things because if I write down too many things than I intend to do, I’m not going to get through the list in the day’s time, and then some of them would be pushed to the next day, eventually being put on the back burner, and then falling off the list. So, the whole ability to make a list and hold myself accountable to ensuring that whatever I don’t get through that day, I put it on the next day, and I build that list. Five to seven things that are critically important that I need to accomplish, that have the greatest impact on what I do in business, that is a life hack for me that works really well. Then, you have this psychological achievement of crossing off the list to say ‘Yes! You did it!’”

“Protecting your energy is borrowing a line from Star Trek, ‘Shields up!’ So, whenever you are around negativity, it’s intuitively saying within yourself, ‘Shields up. I’m not going to allow the negativity of this situation to rub off on me.’ Number 2: The moment you send that you are about to create verbal judo on yourself and beat yourself up, you stop because you have to protect your energy with your words. Language is the software of the mind, so when I am protecting my energy, I have to be mindful of the words that I am saying to myself about myself. I think the third thing to consider when you protect your energy is starting with how I can ensure that everyone that comes across my path, that I am projecting positive energy towards them because you get what you put out.”

Perhaps, it’s even writing a handwritten note to someone that means the world to you. Thriving is taking a daily step in a forward direction, and it’s being present in the moment. When you are in the moment, you are taking control of the future, not waiting for something to happen to you. What that does for me every single day is it allows me to take control of the steering wheel of the day. So, no matter what comes my way, things that I didn’t see coming, things that I was not expecting because I’ve established who I am and whose I am. Asking every person what they want, creating an inclusive environment. I think the second thing, is equal pay. Champion women to be paid on the same level as men. I think the third thing is to give feedback early and often about their contribution. Research says 1 minute spent on recognition creates 100 minutes of initiative.
