Scripture: ‭

Isaiah 26: 3-7‬

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; he levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust. Feet trample it down— the feet of the oppressed, the footsteps of the poor. The path of the righteous is level; you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth."

Scripture: Ephesians 1:3-8

"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding."

No more boring broccoli. Try this easy, flavorful recipe!

What You'll Need:

  • 2 T light olive oil

  • 2 cups chopped broccoli (I've always used frozen, but fresh will work!)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

What You'll Do:

In a medium skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.

Add the broccoli, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

Give it a stir, to get the seasoning all over the broccoli. Spread the broccoli out, in the pan, so that it's all getting contact with the hot pan.

After a couple minutes, give it a stir. Wait a couple more minutes, and give it another stir. Continue until the broccoli is fork-tender (meaning you can easily stab it with a fork). This should only take 5-7 minutes.

Turn the heat off.

Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese all over the broccoli, and place a lid on your pan.

After only a minute or two, the cheese will have melted, and the broccoli is ready to serve.

Enjoy!

Making your own dishwasher detergent is an excellent choice, whether you're going for a non-toxic/clean alternative, a plastic-free option, or a budget-friendly swap.

My Recipe:

  • 1 cup washing soda

  • 1 cup baking soda

  • 3/4 cup citric acid* (other recipes range from 3 T - 1 cup)

  • 3/4 cup coarse salt (other recipes range from 1/4 cup - 1 cup)

*one source said, as a rule of thumb, to only use 1/4 cup of citric acid, to every one cup of washing soda, because they may counteract each other

Scripture (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/MAT.6.NLT):

Matthew 6:19-23

“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Scripture (Ecclesiastes 12:1-7):

https://www.bible.com/bible/116/ECC.12.NLT

"Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” Remember him before the light of the sun, moon, and stars is dim to your old eyes, and rain clouds continually darken your sky. Remember him before your legs—the guards of your house—start to tremble; and before your shoulders—the strong men—stoop. Remember him before your teeth—your few remaining servants—stop grinding; and before your eyes—the women looking through the windows—see dimly. Remember him before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint. Remember him before you become fearful of falling and worry about danger in the streets; before your hair turns white like an almond tree in bloom, and you drag along without energy like a dying grasshopper, and the caperberry no longer inspires sexual desire. Remember him before you near the grave, your everlasting home, when the mourners will weep at your funeral. Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well. For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it."Stock Music provided by JK_Production, from Pond5 ("Happy Acoustic Swing")

“He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”

Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ NLT

“Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature.

But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”

Scripture:

Isaiah 53: 10-12 (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/ISA.53.NLT)

But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.

When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.

I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

Scripture:

Isaiah 53: 3-6

"He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all."

Scripture: (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/ISA.26.NLT)

Isaiah 26: 1b - 11

We are surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation. Open the gates to all who are righteous; allow the faithful to enter. You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. He humbles the proud and brings down the arrogant city. He brings it down to the dust. The poor and oppressed trample it underfoot, and the needy walk all over it.

But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them. Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right. Your kindness to the wicked does not make them do good. Although others do right, the wicked keep doing wrong and take no notice of the Lord’s majesty. O Lord, they pay no attention to your upraised fist. Show them your eagerness to defend your people. Then they will be ashamed. Let your fire consume your enemies.

“The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does.

Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.

What's the difference between all the different types of chicken eggs, at the store. It's in the chicken. Let me tell you about it!   Socials: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_recipeswithrae/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/_recipeswithrae-104413935508894/ TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdb2PwF6/   Scripture: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.   "We have an altar from which the priests in the Tabernacle have no right to eat. Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, and the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp. So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of his own blood. So let us go out to him, outside the camp, and bear the disgrace he bore. For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.   "Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name. And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God."   Hebrews 13:8-16     Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kitchen-with-rae-the-recipes-with-rae-podcast/id1621207580 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1vE6lKppMCr1lekJ7ngNgW?si=nmuqeLdQSPmkLTVKn_7MTw   Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com

Have you ever heard of tahini? Have you ever used tahini? Let me tell you about it!   Creamy Cilantro Dressing: https://youtu.be/jUXL9Kc7jz4 Homemade Hummus: https://youtu.be/D5AGPG3MGGI Sources: https://www.foodnetwork.com/how-to/packages/food-network-essentials/what-is-tahini https://www.seriouseats.com/ways-to-use-tahini Socials: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_recipeswithrae/       Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/_recipeswithrae-104413935508894/ TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdb2PwF6/                  John 8: 31-47 (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/JHN.8.NLT) Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” “But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said. “We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, ‘You will be set free’?” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. Yes, I realize that you are descendants of Abraham. And yet some of you are trying to kill me because there’s no room in your hearts for my message. I am telling you what I saw when I was with my Father. But you are following the advice of your father.” “Our father is Abraham!” they declared. “No,” Jesus replied, “for if you were really the children of Abraham, you would follow his example. Instead, you are trying to kill me because I told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing. No, you are imitating your real father.” They replied, “We aren’t illegitimate children! God himself is our true Father.” Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me!Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me? Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”   Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kitchen-with-rae-the-recipes-with-rae-podcast/id1621207580       Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/1vE6lKppMCr1lekJ7ngNgW?si=nmuqeLdQSPmkLTVKn_7MTw            Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com      #podcast #recipeswithrae #thekitchenwithrae

He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.   So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’”   From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.     Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kitchen-with-rae-the-recipes-with-rae-podcast/id1621207580        Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/1vE6lKppMCr1lekJ7ngNgW?si=nmuqeLdQSPmkLTVKn_7MTw          Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com      #podcast #recipeswithrae #thekitchenwithrae

For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.     Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kitchen-with-rae-the-recipes-with-rae-podcast/id1621207580       Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/1vE6lKppMCr1lekJ7ngNgW?si=nmuqeLdQSPmkLTVKn_7MTw       Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com   #podcast #recipeswithrae #thekitchenwithrae

In episode 3, we talked about what ingredients I keep in my kitchen, and ideas of delicious meals you could make out of them. In this episode, we're talking about baking, the pantry staples I keep on hand, and the variety of tasty treats that can be easily made from the same basic set of pantry staples. If I missed anything that you'd consider essential, or you'd like to share any recipes with me, please don't hesitate to contact me through one of my social media accounts (all linked below!).   I apologize for static that you may hear! Newbie mistake when it came to my choice of clothing, on the day I recorded.   Recipes with Rae YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwrB7wMdDywBQEMHpQboAig Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_recipeswithrae/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/_recipeswithrae-104413935508894/ TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdb2PwF6/   Matthew 12:15-21 (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/MAT.12.NLT)   "But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them, but he warned them not to reveal who he was. This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him:   'Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, who pleases me. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not fight or shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious. And his name will be the hope of all the world.'"     Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kitchen-with-rae-the-recipes-with-rae-podcast/id1621207580       Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1vE6lKppMCr1lekJ7ngNgW?si=nmuqeLdQSPmkLTVKn_7MTw       Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com

This week's episode gets into what I keep stocked in MY kitchen for meals (and some snacks), and what sorts of meals you can easily make. Think canned goods, dried goods, condiments, fresh/frozen fruits/vegetables, starches, spices, and meats. DM me (socials are linked below), and let me know what groceries you like to keep in your kitchen, and what meals you like to make!    I did forget some items I wanted to mention! Canned soups - ready to eat or cream soups Tomato paste Ginger (dried, ground) Corn meal (for corn bread or if you make homemade pizza, cornmeal can be put on the pizza stone, so as not to let the dough stick)   Meals: Quesadillas (cheese, meat, veg, beans) Rice bowls Fried rice    0:00 - Intro 28:09 - gets into the meal ideas portion     Recipes with Rae YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwrB7wMdDywBQEMHpQboAig        Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_recipeswithrae/      Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/_recipeswithrae-104413935508894/       TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdb2PwF6/         Psalms‬ ‭62:5-8‬, NLT (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/PSA.62.5-8.NLT)    “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Cocoa vs Cacao. What's the difference? Is there a difference? Let's find out!   Recipes with Rae YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwrB7wMdDywBQEMHpQboAig     Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_recipeswithrae/   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/_recipeswithrae-104413935508894/   TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdb2PwF6/     Romans 6: 19 - 23, NLT (https://www.bible.com/bible/116/ROM.6.NLT)   "Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.   When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."     Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kitchen-with-rae-the-recipes-with-rae-podcast/id1621207580   Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1vE6lKppMCr1lekJ7ngNgW?si=nmuqeLdQSPmkLTVKn_7MTw   Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com

If you're going to cook, you're going to need a knife eventually! If you're just starting out in the kitchen - or don't know where to start, when it comes to knives for cooking and food prep - this episode will help point you in the right direction.    Recipes with Rae YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwrB7wMdDywBQEMHpQboAig  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_recipeswithrae/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/_recipeswithrae-104413935508894/  TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdb2PwF6/    John 3:16-21, NLT (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+3&version=NLT) “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”   Music: Jobii / Duck in a Box / courtesy of www.epidemicsound.com
