I first heard of homeschooling when I was in college. I was intrigued and began dreaming of all the future possibilities for my future family. From that time forward it was a journey of finding my homeschool style and what real education is.

The Charlotte Mason Method is what guided me in my early homeschooling years, and it bore beautiful fruit as the children grew into happy, articulate teenagers. Education is a life style that best begins when children are young. The goal is that they will love learning for the rest of their life I did not learn that way as a child myself, but part of my homeschool dream was to learn again with my children and love it alongside them. There is much in daily life that children absorb without our realizing it, this is part of their education that happens naturally. Teach them how to make connections between what they observe and what they know.

There are many good resources available to help you in your homeschooling venture. Find the ones that fit your family’s needs and your style of teaching. For me and my family, we use the Charlotte Mason Method where “education is an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life.”
