If you’ve been serving others for years and what you feel most often is a sense of duty instead of joy, obligation instead of overflow, we're speaking to you. Not to shame you, and not to tell you to do less, but to offer an invitation to come home to Agape, the unconditional love of God that doesn’t have to be earned.
We unpack how church leadership and ministry volunteering can quietly reward protective self-doing, even when it costs our health, families, and inner peace. We name the difference between doing the right things from the wrong place and serving from a grounded identity as the beloved. When Agape becomes the source, ministry stops being a mask and starts becoming a natural movement of grace through a formed life.
You’ll also get a short guided practice you can return to anytime: a pause with hand over heart, slow breathing, and simple prayers like “Father, I return to your love” and “Let your love be the source of mine.” We close with reflection questions that help you identify which protective self-pattern is most active, what triggers it, and where the gap between protective self-doing and beloved self-doing is costing you the most.
If you’re ready for a healthier, more sustainable Christian life and a deeper experience of Agape, press play. Subscribe, share this with a ministry friend, send us a message with your thoughts, and leave a review with the line that hit you hardest.

Faith can look strong on the outside while feeling heavy on the inside. We pick up where last week left off and name what’s really happening when your spirituality starts to feel like constant effort: the protective self takes the lead, and love turns into performance.
We walk through the cost of protective self-doing with honesty and compassion. When we manage how we’re perceived, intimacy shrinks because we can’t be fully known. When we try to sustain ourselves through sheer output, vitality fades, and burnout becomes normal. We also talk about the “uniforms” we wear at work, at church, and in family roles, and how those survival strategies can quietly replace authenticity with armor. Most of all, we confront how performance sneaks into prayer, worship, and serving as if God’s love must be secured, even though agape is unconditional and freely given.
Then we shift to what beloved self-doing actually looks like: not passivity, not laziness, but active love flowing from beloved identity. We look at Jesus washing feet as a picture of costly love that doesn’t cost identity, share a simple contemplative practice called the prayer of consent (“Father, I consent to your presence and action within”), and describe a sustainable rhythm of return that displaces striving over time.
If you’re craving deeper intimacy with God, spiritual formation that heals, and a way out of performance-based faith, press play, share this with a friend, subscribe, send us a message with your thoughts, and leave a review so more people can find the journey home.

Love can look holy on the outside while it quietly runs on fear underneath. We pick up the thread from the protective self versus the beloved self and get painfully specific about how “human love” turns conditional without us noticing. I share the personal moment that cracked this open for me, how faith can become a way to keep people at arm’s length, and the line that changed everything: "we were created by Agape to be Agaped and to Agape others."
From there, we map out what that actually means in real relationships. We talk about spiritual formation as a lifelong process of being formed and shaped so divine love can flow through us, and we use a simple, practical path of recognition, ownership, naming, and letting go. Along the way, we name the barnacles that attach over time: resentment, unforgiveness, scarcity thinking, and how they weigh down your “vessel” until you’re operating from the protective self without realizing it. If you’ve been feeling tired, irritable, or secretly bitter, you’ll hear why.
Then we walk through four patterns that show up everywhere: loving to be needed, loving to be seen, loving to manage discomfort (people pleasing and avoidance), and loving to keep a record. We anchor it in 1 Corinthians 13, where Agape does not boast, is not proud, and keeps no record of wrong, and we close with a short stillness practice and a declaration you can repeat when your protective self kicks in: “Agape is now my safety. I can rest.”
If this helps you name what’s been happening in your heart, share it with someone who needs it, subscribe for more, send us a message with your thoughts, and leave a review so more people can find this work.

The version of you that overthinks, overworks, people-pleases, or clamps down on control is not “bad” or “evil”; it may be exhausted love trying to stay safe. We name that identity the protective self, and we contrast it with the beloved self: the true identity God gives and sustains, not earned through performance, not constructed through survival, but received through Agape. If you’ve been stuck in spiritual striving or quiet anxiety, this conversation offers language that makes the pattern visible without condemnation.
We unpack how the protective self forms from the womb through unmet needs and wounding, then keeps running on autopilot even when the danger has passed. We connect this to the Isaac Principle, showing how the protective self can treat surrender like a completed transaction and replace trust with vigilance: “I’ve already trusted enough. Now I must manage what’s left.” We also draw a sharp line between doing a work for God versus co-laboring with God, and why that “with” changes everything about motivation, peace, and presence.
To make it practical, we map the protective self to Positive Intelligence saboteurs like the Judge, Controller, Achiever, Restless, Pleaser, Avoider, and Victim. Then we move to the beloved self, rooted in the heart and the imago Dei, echoing God’s declaration of delight. Stillness and the inner room of Matthew 6:6 do not create belovedness; they uncover what has been true all along, helping your soul finally hear, “You are my beloved.”

You can look like love on the outside and still be running on fear underneath. That’s the heart of what we’re unpacking as we step into the fourth part of Loved To Love, a series on the sacred rhythm of Agape and the Four Movements of Divine Love. I take my time here because the stakes are real: a lot of “good” serving, giving, and helping can be driven by a protective self that learned early that love must be earned. If you’ve ever felt empty after ministry, guilty for resting, or anxious when you’re not needed, you’re not a bad person. You’re carrying a wound that deserves healing, not shame.
We draw a clear line between Protective Self-doing and Beloved Self-doing. Protective Self-doing performs, manages, and strives to stay safe. Beloved self-doing flows from a received identity as the beloved, rooted and grounded in God’s unconditional love. We talk about how conditional love forms these patterns, how they migrate into adult relationships and vocational identity, and why even big achievements, titles, or relationships cannot heal what only Agape can reach. I also name the “sacred convergence” where spiritual formation, psychology, and neuroscience point in the same direction: renewal happens as we become attentive, practice the pause, and return to presence.
Then we go straight to Genesis 3, where fig leaves become the first act of human self-protection, and God’s first question is not “What did you do?” but “Where are you?” That question is still an invitation today: come out from hiding; you are still beloved. We close with a short contemplative breath practice to help you identify your own fig leaves with honesty and gentleness. Peter writes 2 Peter with a clock ticking in the background, and that urgency changes what he chooses to emphasize. Instead of leaving a fear-based warning, we hear him offer a path of formation, a ladder of virtues that culminates in one unmistakable destination: Agape. We walk slowly through 2 Peter 1:3–7, treating it as a map for spiritual growth and real transformation that holds up under stress.
Along the way, we talk about why faith is the foundation, and why trust grows best when people first know they are beloved. We name what gets out of order in church culture when we pressure people to “believe” before they have any lived sense of belonging, safety, and grace. Peter’s language about “participating in the divine nature” gives us a grounded, practical vision of Christlikeness through the Holy Spirit, not through willpower or performance.
We also linger on one of the most human moments in the letter: Peter calling Paul “beloved” after their public conflict. If agape is real, it shows up in relationships, not just ideas. The episode includes a short, contemplative breathing practice to help you find your place on the ladder and let go of the need to rush the process. If you’ve ever wondered where perseverance ends and love begins, this conversation is for you.

Peter isn’t writing as a distant theologian. He’s writing as a man who cracked under pressure, heard the rooster crow, and still got restored. That’s why his words hit differently when he speaks to believers who are scattered, displaced, and facing hostility. We slow down in 1 Peter and listen for the heartbeat behind the text: Agape received, Agapetos accepted, Agapeton formed in the crucible, then Agapoa returned to God, self, and others.
We walk through Peter’s “living hope” language and why an inheritance that cannot perish, spoil, or fade matters most when life feels unstable. We talk about grief and trials without sugarcoating them, then trace Peter’s surprising claim that faith can be refined like gold and come out more genuine on the other side. If you’re carrying pressure at work, in your family, or in your church community, this is a grounded way to read suffering through resurrection.
Then we sit with one of the most arresting lines in the letter: “Though you have not seen him, you love him.” Peter describes a joy beyond words, saturated with glory, and we connect this to what it means to live from belovedness rather than performance. From there, we move into Peter’s command to “love one another deeply,” where “deeply” means strained at full stretch, and finally to the statement that can only be truly personal for Peter: “Love covers a multitude of sins.”

A “Yes” to God rarely starts as a lightning bolt. More often, it shows up as a quiet invitation, a repeated nudge, a desire you did not manufacture but cannot ignore. We start with a simple question: How do you recognize an invitation from God? How do you tell the difference between your own impulse and the Holy Spirit drawing you into something deeper?
From there, we dig into Agapao and why it matters for real life, not just theology. We walk through the four movements of divine love: Agape gives first, pursues without quitting, Agapetos names us as God’s beloved, Agapeton forms us into a usable vessel, and then Agapao flows outward through us to others. If you feel stuck in performance, burnout, or constantly trying to “get it right,” this framework reframes spiritual growth as an encounter rather than achievement.
Then we stand with Peter in John 21, on the shore at dawn, where Jesus restores the disciple who denied him. The details matter: Jesus calls him “Simon,” asks hard questions with surprising gentleness, and even meets Peter at the level of love (phileo) he can honestly offer. The moment becomes a blueprint for Christian restoration, identity, and calling, ending with a commissioning that does not wait for Peter to feel flawless. We close with a guided reflective pause and a simple breath prayer: Agape meets me where I am, not where I should be.

Love is everywhere in Christian talk, but John forces a harder question: what if real love is not something we produce, but something that proves where we’re living? We lean into John’s intense focus on Agape, the divine love that starts in God, forms us as the beloved, and then moves outward as a natural overflow rather than a strained performance.
We read slowly through 1 John 4:7-12, 19, and sit with the line that reorders everything: “We love because he first loved us.” From there, we trace how John frames love as communal and concrete, especially for a church under stress. The call is not private self-improvement; it is “let us love one another,” a shared practice that becomes visible evidence that God dwells within a people.
Then we move to John 13:34-35, where Jesus sets a breathtaking standard: "love one another as I have loved you." John insists the world recognizes discipleship through love, not through doctrine debates, church programs, or moral scorekeeping. We also look at the early church pattern of generosity, unity, and endurance, and ask the better question: how do we abide in the love that produces that kind of life?
We close with a simple contemplative practice focused on one difficult relationship, naming the difference between the Protective Self and the Beloved Self.

If you’ve ever wondered whether God’s love changes when your life gets messy, Paul has an answer that doesn’t flinch. We walk through a powerful thread running across Romans, Ephesians, and 1 Corinthians: God doesn’t start with “try harder.” He starts with identity. You are already beloved, and that “already” becomes the ground for how you live, how you endure suffering, and how you love people when it costs you something.
We spend time in Romans 8:35-39 to name the fear so many of us carry that trouble, loss, spiritual warfare, or our own failures might separate us from God’s Agape. Then we talk about the Protective Self, the part of us shaped by wounds, culture, and our environment that whispers we have to prove our worth, earn rescue, or keep control. Paul’s logic cuts through all of it: nothing can sever the connection between the Beloved and the Love that holds them.
From there, we move into Ephesians 3:17-19, where Paul prays that we may be rooted and grounded in love and able to grasp the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love, even when it surpasses knowledge. We connect that to stillness, the secret place, and a simple way to stop living from constant doing. Finally, we revisit 1 Corinthians 13 as more than a wedding reading: it becomes a diagnostic for scorekeeping, envy, pride, and self-seeking, and a vision of what Agape looks like when it flows from our Agapetos identity in Christ.

A lot of people say they want an “Acts church,” but Acts doesn’t describe a brand or a building. It describes a community where Agape becomes visible, where God’s grace works so deeply in us that Agapao starts to move through us. We start with Pentecost and then slow down in Acts 4:32–35, listening for the clues Luke gives: one heart and mind, shared resources, powerful witness to the resurrection, and a shocking result there are no needy persons among them.
From there, we get practical about what that kind of Christian community means today. I talk about why this isn’t just “tithes and offerings,” and why generosity collapses when our identity is fragile. When we’re rooted in belovedness, possessions lose their grip. When we live from the protective self, we accumulate, store, and build hedges because we’re trying to feel secure. This is also where we name the difference between conviction and condemnation, and why guilt and shame are not God’s voice.
Then we move to Acts 11 and Antioch, where Agape crosses comfort zones. Scattered believers speak to Greeks, Barnabas recognizes the grace of God at work, Saul is brought back into the story, and disciples are first called Christians in a diverse community. A famine prophecy becomes a test of love in action (Agapao), and the church responds with concrete help for brothers and sisters in Judea.

If you’ve ever tried to “be loving” by sheer effort and ended up tired, frustrated, or quietly ashamed, we get it, and we’re naming the real issue. Love isn’t sustained by willpower. We’re exploring willingness, a steady rhythm of returning to the Father, and what happens when our identity as the beloved (Agapetos) becomes the true starting point instead of something we try to earn.
From there, we turn to the book of Acts and the early church to answer the question a lot of us carry: What does Agape look like for ordinary people living in community? We walk through Pentecost and Acts 2:42-47 to see a community shaped not by religious programming but by visible love in action (Agapao). People share life, meet needs, break bread, pray, and live with a joy that doesn’t smell like performance. The thread running through it all is that Agape can’t be contained or controlled, and when we try to put God in a box, frustration always follows.
We also connect the ancient story to the present, touching on growing revival language and a hunger for meaning, especially among younger generations facing anxiety and disruption. Then we bring it home with a simple practice of watchfulness and a breath prayer that helps love received become love shared in every room you enter.

Jesus loves with a steadiness most of us crave, especially when we’re tired, overextended, or tempted to protect ourselves. The question we sit with today is the one hiding in plain sight in the Gospels: How does Jesus keep loving with consistency and depth without burning out, growing cynical, or retreating into self-protection?
We walk through a clear biblical pattern of spiritual formation that shows up again and again: Jesus withdraws to solitary places, returns to the Father, and lets that place of presence root and ground him in beloved identity. Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16, Matthew 14:23, and the repeated language of lonely places and mountains are not random travel notes. They reveal a practice, “as was his custom,” that sustains agape love. We also connect this to the inner-room teaching on prayer, where closing the door becomes a picture of turning inward to commune with God in secret.
Then we slow down at the Transfiguration and notice the uncomfortable details we usually skip: the disciples get sleepy, fear shows up under the cloud, and striving tries to take over. We name the “protective self” and the subtle ways it questions whether it’s good to be in God’s presence, then pushes us back into earning. The invitation is simple and demanding: abiding is not passive. It’s an intentional returning to the source, so our love doesn’t become depleted performance.

If your faith feels like constant output, this conversation offers a different starting point: belovedness. We talk about the difference between being and doing, and why so much “good” activity can still come from a wound, a need, or an identity that doesn’t feel secure. The question that keeps surfacing is painfully practical: Is my doing coming from my being, or from my protective self trying to stay safe?
We walk through a clear Gospel pattern in three movements: baptism, where identity is established before any public work; wilderness, where that identity is tested under pressure; and ministry, where agape becomes a daily expression. Along the way, we unpack relationship, identity, and delight as the order that makes intimacy with God possible, and we name how temptation often targets identity more than behavior.
Then we slow down and watch agape in action through four scenes from Jesus’ life: touching the leper when everyone expected distance; washing feet from a place of secure origin and destination; weeping at Lazarus’ tomb without shame or emotional armor; and restoring Peter after failure without keeping score. Each scene exposes the limits of the protective self and invites a better way of living, serving, and loving.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing all the “right” Christian things but still feel tired, anxious, or secretly driven, we name the question that gets to the root: Is my doing coming from my being or from my wound? I walk through the heart of the Loved To Love series and the difference between Agape as God’s source and Agapao as love in action. The New Testament uses love as a verb again and again for a reason, and it’s not to make us hustle harder. It’s to teach us how love was always meant to live: flowing out of a secure identity, not chasing one.
Then we move from Greek words to the living embodiment, Jesus of Nazareth. The Gospels show miracles, teaching, service, compassion, and the road to Good Friday, but I want us to ask the question we usually skip: "Where did that love come from?" Jesus doesn’t love out of duty, moral pressure, or fear. He loves from a settled, unshakable belovedness, and that changes how we read every healing, every touch, every act of mercy.
We slow down at the baptism of Jesus in Matthew 3:17, where the Father speaks about relationship, identity, and delight before Jesus does a single work of ministry. From there, the wilderness temptation in Matthew 4 exposes the strategy that still works in modern times: “If you are…” The goal isn’t just to get us to fail. The goal is to make us prove.

Love can look holy on the outside while quietly running on fear underneath. That tension is where we start: not with more effort, but with the deeper question of what is powering your “yes” in relationships, serving, and daily Christian living.
I walk through the sacred rhythm of agape using the New Testament’s language of love and why the verb form matters so much. We unpack four movements that show up again and again in Scripture: agape as God’s divine source, agapitos as beloved identity received, identity expressed as a formed vessel, and agapao as love in action. Along the way, I name the difference between protective self doing (loving to feel worthy, needed, safe, or approved) and beloved self doing (loving because we’re already secure). The goal is freedom, not shame.
Then we get very practical. I answer the question “what does it mean to remain empty?” using Jesus’ first miracle at Cana (John 2) as a template for spiritual formation: empty jars, filled to the brim, drawn from overflow, and carried to where it’s needed. We connect this to kenosis (Philippians 2), stillness and solitude, and the quiet power of serving without recognition. I also give you a simple diagnostic question to carry into your week: is my doing coming from my being, or from a wound or a need?

Something changes when you stop treating love like a religious performance and start treating it like an overflow of identity. We’re building on the beloved journey and taking the next step into what Daily Living for Christ actually looks like when you know you’re already loved, chosen, blessed, and seen by God, even in your wounds. Abiding in Christ isn’t a spiritual finish line here. It’s the launching point where fruit can grow because you’re living from presence rather than pressure.
We also open up a lens that can reshape how you read the New Testament: the Greek words around Agape. We talk through Agape as God’s divine love, Agapetos as belovedness and identity, and Agapao as love in motion. That last piece matters because the writers of the New Testament choose the verb form of love again and again, pushing us past definition into action. Love becomes something you participate in, expressed in relationships, rooted in God’s delight rather than your need to prove anything.
Along the way, we name the hidden drivers that can sit underneath “good” behavior, including woundedness, fear, and the subtle hunger to earn belonging. This sets up the next crucial conversation on being versus doing, and why God cares so much about what’s happening inside the heart that gives.

The spiritual journey is not about proving our value, earning God’s approval, or achieving a higher state of holiness. It is about learning to remain in the Agape that is already ours. In this final episode of the Beloved series, Donald E. Colemanexplores the sixth movement of beloved identity: Abiding.
Drawing from John 15:4-9 and Jesus’ rhythm of withdrawing into quiet prayer, this episode invites listeners to discover abiding as a daily returning—a gentle, life-giving reorientation toward God’s presence. Instead of striving for spiritual experiences, we learn to rest in the Agape that never leaves us.
This episode will help you:
· Understand abiding as a posture of the heart, not a task to accomplish.
· Develop ways to return to God’s love throughout the day.
· Recognize and release the patterns that draw you away from peace.
· Live from a grounded, stable, love-rooted identity in Christ.
If you desire to live from peace, presence, and a deeper awareness of God’s love, this episode offers a simple, beautiful invitation:

Many believers want to serve God and others well—but serving from effort, pressure, or identity-striving leads to exhaustion. In this episode, Donald E. Coleman continues the Beloved series by revealing the fifth movement of beloved identity: Given. When we know we are Beloved, Chosen, Blessed, and Agapetón (Loved) in our Brokenness, we naturally become a gift to the world, not because we try harder, but because Agape begins to overflow.
Drawing from Luke 22:19, John 13:3–5, and the compassionate example of Jesus, this episode shows how the spiritual life moves from identity to expression. We explore how Jesus served others with humility and tenderness—not to earn approval, but because He was already secure in the Father’s love.
This episode will help you:
· Understand the difference between giving from fullness and giving from depletion.
· Recognize the quiet ways God is already pouring Agape through your life.
· Release the pressure to prove yourself through spiritual service.
· Learn to let your life become a gift naturally, gently, and authentically.
If you have ever felt worn out from trying to “do enough” for God or others, this episode invites you to return to a simpler truth:
You are loved — and love flows from you.

Your worst day doesn’t cancel your belovedness. We sit with a message many of us spend years resisting: God’s Agape is not waiting on the other side of healing, success, or a cleaned-up story. We’re loved exactly where our heart aches, and that love is meant to be received deeply enough that it overflows into the world around us.
We walk through the “fourth movement” of beloved identity by reframing brokenness through Scripture. Psalm 34 anchors the promise that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and attentive to our cry, while John 20 shows Jesus stepping into a locked room full of fear and speaking peace. Even Thomas is invited closer through wounds, not pushed away for doubting. That’s the turning point: Jesus doesn’t prove resurrection with strength; He reveals scars to open intimacy.
We also challenge the way modern culture can make trauma a currency and a label. Your wound is real, but it doesn’t get to be your name. Drawing from Henry Nouwen and Isaiah 53, we explore how spiritual brokenness can become the doorway into communion, where grace becomes experienced and healing becomes personal. You’ll leave with a simple breath prayer, honest reflection questions, and a grounded reminder that hiding shrinks relationship while honesty grows it.
If this speaks to you, subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next, share it with someone who feels disqualified by their pain, and leave a review so more listeners can find it. Where have you been afraid to be seen in your brokenness?

God’s gaze can undo years of striving in a single moment, but only if we let ourselves be seen. We jump into a core claim that runs through the whole “Beloved” series: you are not trying to become beloved. Your identity is already settled, and the healthiest spiritual growth starts when you stop treating love like something you earn. From there, we name the theme of this message clearly: you are blessed, which means you are seen with Agape, God’s divine love, not evaluated, measured, or compared.
We slow down and redefine “blessed” using Scripture and lived experience, including the priestly blessing from Numbers 6 and its surprising emotional center: peace. We talk about what changes when you believe God’s face is turned toward you with joy, and why the real question isn’t “Am I loved?” but “Have I accepted the love God already gives?” If you’ve ever felt like church language became a scoreboard, this brings you back to the gospel as divine favor, protection, and presence.
Then we watch Jesus bless people up close. Children are welcomed and held in Mark 10, showing that receiving is childlike openness, not spiritual negotiation. We connect Henri Nouwen’s insight that blessing is spoken belovedness, and we walk through three vivid moments where Jesus restores identity: “I saw you” to Nathanael, “daughter” to the woman labeled unclean, and a loving look toward Peter in failure. The episode closes with a short contemplative breath practice and reflection questions you can carry into your week.
If this helped you breathe again, subscribe, share it with a friend who feels measured, and leave a review so more people can find this message of Agape love, Christian identity, and peace.

Chosen isn’t a spiritual trophy, and it isn’t proof you’re better than anyone else. It’s the steady, unsettlingly good news that you are wanted and held in God’s heart right now. We pick back up in the belovedness series and move one step deeper into a believers identity, starting where everything begins: Agape. Not human love you try to generate, but God’s divine love you learn to receive, remain in, and then pour out.
We walk through key scriptures like John 3:16 and John 15, listening closely to what Jesus actually says about being chosen, appointed, and commanded to agape one another. Along the way, we name how a protective self forms when we think God is distant, and how striving, control, and hyper-achieving can become a substitute identity. When chosenness lands in the heart, it changes how we pray, how we respond to rejection, and how we stop asking the world’s systems to tell us who we are.
We also draw on Henry Nouwen’s “movements” of belovedness, starting with chosen and pointing ahead to blessed, broken, and given. To make it practical, we end with reflective questions and a simple breath practice: inhale “I am wanted,” exhale “I do not have to earn belonging.” If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s tired of performing, and leave a review so more people can find this message of agape and identity in Christ.

What if 2026 isn’t just another year—but a divine invitation? In this prophetic and contemplative episode, our host, Donald E. Coleman, shares how the Holy Spirit revealed 2026 as a Kairos moment—a threshold of transformation and alignment with God’s sacred rhythm.
Donald explores how the Holy Spirit is inviting individuals, communities, and nations into a deeper awareness of sacred timing, where ordinary time is interrupted by divine intention—what the Greeks called Kairos.

In the fourth episode in the series, Beloved: The Journey of Leaving Egypt, Entering Wilderness, and Awakening as New Creation, our host, Donald E Coleman, uncovers a groundbreaking truth: before Israel existed, before the covenant was formed, before the Law was given—God made a new creation in Abraham.
Donald walks listeners through the profound reality that God did not find a people; He formed a people. Abram becomes Abraham. Sarai becomes Sarah. And through them God reveals the pattern He still uses today: identity before performance, calling before destiny, belovedness before mission.
This episode will awaken your understanding of what it means to be reborn into Christ and how Abraham’s transformation foreshadows your own spiritual journey as a son or daughter of God.

Many believers know that God loves them, yet few have learned to live from the deep truth of being Beloved. Our host, Donald E Coleman, begins a new series that he believes the Holy Spirit has placed before us with tenderness and purpose.
This series is titled ' Beloved: Becoming Who You Already Are.
In this first episode, Donald invites you into a sacred reorientation of identity—one rooted not in performance, success, maturity, or spiritual progress, but in the eternal love of God expressed through Christ.
Drawing from Matthew 3:17 and the insight of Henri Nouwen in Spiritual Direction, we explore how Jesus began His ministry only after hearing the Father speak:
“You are my Beloved; with You I am well pleased.” Before Jesus did anything, He was named. Identity came before action. Belovedness came before calling.
This episode will help you:
· Recognize where you may be trying to earn what God has already given
· Understand the difference between the False Self and the True Self in Christ
· See how Jesus lived every moment from the foundation of belovedness
· Begin to rest, breathe, and live from your identity as God’s beloved son or daughter
This is not simply a teaching—it is an invitation into metanoia, a transformation of how you see God, how you see yourself, and how you live your daily life.
If you’ve ever felt pressure to prove yourself, to be enough, or to earn God’s approval—this episode is your reminder of the love that has always been yours.
Come and hear the voice that has been speaking over you since the beginning:

You've turned. You've entered the room. You've been renewed. Now comes the breathtaking conclusion: Before the Throne—where sacred surrender transforms into sacred confidence.

Coleman reveals the divine mystery woven through Hebrews 4 and Hebrews 10: God showed us the destination first (access to the Most Holy Place), then walked us back through the pathway that gets us there. This isn't just about finding rest—it's about discovering bold, grace-based access to the throne of God.
Drawing from Hebrews 4:12-16, Donald unpacks how the Living Word that pierces us is the same High Priest who welcomes us. The secret place that exposed your heart becomes the launching point for a life lived in divine presence.

In this episode, host Donald E. Colemanunpacks the transformative power of "The Turn"—exploring how true spiritual change begins not with behavioral modification, but with a sacred return to your identity in Christ.

In this deeply reflective episode of Daily Living for Christ, Donald E. Coleman continues the journey toward spiritual wholeness by exploring what it truly means to “Let Go to Enter In.” Building upon February’s pivotal teaching on humility (Episode 180: Understanding Humility as the Path to Wholeness), Donald invites listeners to examine the thin line tension between the False Self and the True Self, especially as it relates to expectation, surrender, and the posture of the heart.
Through rich biblical reflection on Hebrews 10 and Hebrews 4, he unpacks the hidden wisdom behind trusting God fully—opening every door of the heart to His presence. Donald weaves together insights on Agape, Centering Prayer, and the Sabbath rest promised in Christ, offering listeners a Spirit-led path to intimacy with God.
Drawing from his own spiritual journey, Donald shares how humility, solitude, and letting go of performance-based faith unlock deeper communion with God. He contrasts the striving of self-optimization with the peaceful surrender of divine transformation—reminding us that faith is not striving, but resting in God’s presence.
Whether you’ve followed the recent 12-episode series on Hebrews or are joining for the first time, this episode invites you to pause, reflect, and open your heart.

In this final episode of the Four Great Opportunities of the Opened Sanctuaryseries, Donald E. Coleman turns our attention to the fourth and culminating invitation in Hebrews 10:25:
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
With clarity, depth, and spiritual warmth, Donald explores how this “Let us” statement isn’t just a call to church attendance, but a divine invitation into intentional presence, compassionate community, and agape-infused fellowship. Drawing on both the NIV and Passion Translation, this episode reclaims the purpose behind gathering: not performance, but presence with God and one another.
In this teaching, you’ll hear Donald:
✅ Unpack the tabernacle progression—outer court, inner court, and the holy of holies—as a symbol of access into deeper intimacy with God
✅ Reflect on the modern spiritual hunger among the unaffiliated (“nones”) as a global cry for agape
✅ Explain how unmet human needs—esteem, safety, affection—can distort community if not surrendered to God
✅ Offer insights on divine therapy, drawing from John of the Cross and the practice of communing with God in solitude
✅ Call believers into spiritual maturity, where time in God’s presence naturally overflows into mutual encouragement and sacred assembly
This episode is both a conclusion and a commissioning—urging us not only to draw near to God, but also to draw near to one another in a world that desperately needs the love, unity, and hope that only a Christ-centered community can provide.

✅ Contrast external religion with internal transformation through Christ
✅ Illustrate the tabernacle as a symbol of moving from separation to sacred intimacy
✅ Call us into a rhythm of receiving God’s love and releasing it to others
✅ Highlight that encouragement is not optional—it’s vital as we see the Day approaching

In this final series of our three-part study of Hebrews 10:19-25, we shift our focus to The Four Great Opportunities of the Opened Sanctuary (Hebrews 10:22), where we are invited to:
“Draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings.”
Donald E. Coleman unpacks this sacred invitation by contrasting a life of striving with a life of spiritual surrender. Drawing on imagery from the Old Testament tabernacle and spiritual insights from Practicing the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence, he explores what it means to be emptied of self so that we may be filled with the presence and agape love of God.

Welcome to the Daily Living for Christ podcast. In this powerful episode, we introduce the ancient yet deeply relevant practice of Centering Prayer—a silent, contemplative form of prayer that opens the soul to God’s presence and action within.
Rooted in the early Christian contemplative tradition and reintroduced to the Western Church in the late 20th century, Centering Prayer is not a technique to achieve something from God, but a sacred way of consenting to His love, transformation, and divine will. Donald guides us through the biblical foundation of this practice, drawing from Matthew 6:6 and John 15:1-5, showing how Jesus invited us to a secret, abiding relationship with the Father through stillness and surrender.
In this episode, you’ll explore:
✅ The origins and purpose of Centering Prayer in Christian tradition
✅ The four core elements of the practice:Intention, Sacred word, Consent, and Humility
✅ How silent prayer aligns with the call to “be still and know” God
✅ The connection between kenosis (self-emptying) and spiritual growth
✅ Practical guidance for starting Centering Prayer—including choosing a sacred word and managing distractions

Welcome to the Daily Living for Christ podcast. In this episode, we begin a transformative journey into an ancient Christian practice—Lectio Divina, or “sacred reading.” This timeless spiritual discipline invites us to slow down, be present, and engage with the Word of God in a deeply personal and reverent way.
Donald shares the powerful impact Lectio Divina has had in his life, including a visit to the Prince of Peace Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in California, where silence, stillness, and Scripture created a tangible experience of God’s peace. Rooted in monastic tradition but now accessible to all believers, Lectio Divina offers more than Bible reading—it is a sacred encounter, a living dialogue with the Holy Spirit.
In this episode, we explore:
✅ The four movements of Lectio Divina: Read, Reflect, Respond, and Rest
✅ Why the Word of God is living and active, transforming not just the mind, but the heart
✅ How reverence, silence, and presence create space for the Holy Spirit to work within us
✅ The connection between Lectio Divina, Centering Prayer, and spiritual formation
✅ Biblical encouragement to engage God’s Word as a source of life, healing, and deep communion

Welcome to another powerful episode of the Daily Living for Christ podcast! Today, we uncover a hidden struggle that many believers face but rarely address—repression. Repressed emotions often shape our reactions, decisions, and relationships in ways we don’t fully realize, keeping us from experiencing true healing and wholeness in Christ.
Have you ever buried emotions—hurt, anger, or rejection—just to keep moving forward? Have you found yourself reacting to situations in ways that don’t align with your faith? In this episode, we explore:
✅ What repression is and how it impacts our spiritual and emotional well-being
✅ Biblical examples of repression, including Sarai and Hagar’s story in Genesis 16
✅ How unaddressed wounds can manifest in harmful patterns of control, insecurity, and self-justification
✅ The importance of welcoming emotions before God rather than suppressing them
✅ How recognizing and navigating internal saboteurs leads to freedom and deeper trust in God
Through personal reflection and biblical insights, we’ll see that God doesn’t want us to run from our pain—He wants to meet us in it. Just as He saw Hagar in the wilderness and met her in her suffering, He sees you and invites you into healing.
Are you ready to break free from repression and embrace the fullness of God’s presence? Download this episode now, and be sure to subscribe for more life-changing conversations on wholeness, transformation, and living fully in Christ!

Before the fall, Adam and Eve lived in perfect union with God—fully known, fully loved, and free from fear. But with the serpent’s temptation came a shift—the introduction of power, control, and self-rule that led humanity away from divine trust and into self-protection. This moment gave birth to the false self, a survival mechanism rooted in insecurity, fear, and the pursuit of identity outside of God.
In this episode, we’ll uncover:
✅ How Genesis 3 reveals the roots of the false self and humanity’s struggle with control and independence from God.
✅ Why the false self isn’t inherently evil but is a byproduct of living outside God’s will.
✅ The deep connection between fear, rejection, and the need for approval in shaping our false identities.
✅ How material possessions, achievements, and self-sufficiency deceive us into feeling secure.
✅ Practical steps to recognize the false self and shift toward wholeness and trust in God.
Donald also introduces the Saboteur Assessment, (click the link to take the free assessment) a powerful tool to help uncover where the false self is operating in your life and how to begin the journey back to living in wholeness with God.

Welcome to another enlightening episode of the Daily Living for Christ podcast! Today, we take a deep dive into a foundational truth of the spiritual journey—understanding the True Self and False Self. This episode explores how these two identities shape our thoughts, actions, and connection with God, ultimately influencing our ability to live in wholeness in Christ.
Who are you, truly? How does your False Self hold you back, and how can you uncover the True Self that reflects God’s image? These are the questions we’ll unpack as we explore:
✅ The True Self—our identity in Christ, created in righteousness and holiness, aligned with God’s love and purpose.
✅ The False Self—a persona shaped by ego, fear, and external validation, distancing us from God’s presence.
✅ How the fall of Adam and Eve led humanity to seek security, esteem, and control outside of God.
✅ The biblical foundation of the New Self and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in renewing us.
✅ Practical steps to embrace your True Self, live in wholeness, and walk in spiritual freedom.
Many believers struggle silently, unaware of how the False Self influences their emotions, relationships, and faith journey. But the good news is that transformation is possible! Through surrender, spiritual disciplines, and God’s grace, we can shed the False Self and embrace the person we were always meant to be in Christ.

Welcome to another transformative episode of the Daily Living for Christ podcast! Today, we take a deep dive into one of the most challenging yet essential aspects of spiritual growth—surrendering control.
What does it mean to truly let go and trust God? How does surrender lead us to deeper discipleship, wholeness, and spiritual transformation? In this episode, we explore the biblical foundation of surrender, from Jesus’ call to deny ourselves (Matthew 16:24-26) to His example of complete obedience to the Father.
We’ll discuss:
✅ Kenosis—the self-emptying of control for the sake of divine love
✅ How surrender is the key to true discipleship and union with God
✅ The difference between surrender and spiritual death—letting go willingly vs. being freed from what no longer has power over us
✅ How the false self clings to control, while the true self rests in God’s love
✅ Why surrendering the need to control outcomes leads to deeper peace and spiritual growth
Through powerful metaphors—like the seed that must fall to the ground and die to produce new life—this conversation will challenge you to examine where control is hindering your growth in Christ.

Welcome to another transformative episode of the Daily Living for Christ podcast! Today, we take a deeper look at The Four Consents—a powerful framework for embracing humility, surrender, and divine union with God. These four consents—Life and Creation, Growth and Development, Limitation and Diminishment, and Transformation and Union—offer us a path to living freely in God’s love, apart from striving or self-reliance.
What does it mean to truly say yes to God? How does humility free us from both pride and despair? Through biblical insights, the wisdom of The Cloud of Unknowing, and Jesus’ example of self-emptying (kenosis), we uncover how consenting to God’s presence and action in our lives is the very definition of true humility.
In this episode, we’ll explore:
✅ Consent to Life and Creation—Accepting that we are loved and redeemed by grace, not by effort
✅ Consent to Growth and Development—Trusting God’s work within us rather than striving for self-perfection
✅ Consent to Limitation and Diminishment—Releasing control and embracing the freedom of surrender
✅ Consent to Transformation and Union with God—Letting go of all that separates us from divine love
Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:29). The Four Consents reveal that His yoke is light because it is not about our effort, but our surrender.

What does it mean to truly embrace humility? How does humility open the door to God’s presence and transform our spiritual journey? Drawing from Scripture, Christian tradition, and the teachings of great spiritual thinkers like Thomas Aquinas, we uncover the essence of humility—not as self-abasement, but as joyful submission to God and a willingness to live within His divine limits.
In this episode, you’ll gain insights on:
✅ How humility leads to divine union and a deeper awareness of God's presence
✅ The difference between self-deprecation and true humility
✅ Why humility is about focusing on God rather than excessive self-reflection

Welcome to another captivating episode! As we journey through the book of Acts, we find ourselves accompanying Paul on his solo venture from Athens to Corinth, eagerly awaiting the reunion with Silas and Timothy. Upon his arrival, Paul seeks refuge with Aquila and Priscilla, fellow believers and tentmakers like himself, who've recently resettled from Rome due to Claudius' decree expelling Jews.
In true Pauline fashion, our intrepid apostle wastes no time in spreading the gospel, first in the synagogue, where he fervently persuades both Jews and Greeks of the truth of Jesus as the Messiah. However, when Silas and Timothy join him, Paul shifts his focus exclusively to preaching to the Jews, encountering unexpected opposition that shakes him to his core.
But why does Luke choose to spotlight Aquila, Priscilla, and the growing opposition Paul faces? The answer to this intriguing question awaits you in this episode.
Join us as we dive deep into Acts and unravel the significance of these encounters. I'm confident that as you listen, you'll discover profound insights that will enrich your understanding and faith journey. Let's embark on this exploration together!

Welcome to today’s episode, where we delve into the profound question: What does it mean to be led by the Spirit? It's a common misconception that a life guided by the Spirit is free from challenges such as persecution, job loss, or health issues. However, drawing inspiration from the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul enlightens us that “All things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Today, we're going to explore some of the various trials Paul, Timothy, and Silas encountered, how they navigated these moments with grace, and understand how God orchestrates these experiences for a greater purpose. If you're currently facing a tough situation, this episode might just hold the key to finding your way through it. There are two main themes occuring in the beginning of chapter sixteen. First, Paul and Silas arrive at Lystra, and they meet a disciple named Timothy. Luke made it a point to share with us the ethnicity of his parents up front. Timothy mother was a Jewish believer, and his father was a Greek. Why was this so important? The second theme occurringis that Paul, Silas and Timothy were prevented by the Holy Spirit to visit two locations. Why is this important? I find both of these situation are prevalent to the day in time we live in. To learn more down this episode now.

God's intention or act of love for all people, as revealed to Abraham, was that all should be saved, and this has not changed. In chapter 15 of the Book of Acts, the tension among the brethren reaches the point where the situation must be addressed, and I believe we are at this same place today in the church. In this episode, we see how the underlying issues of race, tradition, and misinformation had begun to cause division, and that was not the will of God.
In this episode, I passionately speak about the issue at hand and allow the Holy Spirit to use me to share how this same issue is prevalent today. Turn in now to hear what was shared by the leading of the Holy Spirit. I pray that every listener will be changed by the words shared and that we will all begin to "Love God and our neighbors..."

Before recording this episode, I was experiencing a heavy heart all day. It was not until I began to record that the reason behind the heaviness was revealed. This incident reveals a truth about our experiences in life and our walk with Christ. I then noticed this pattern throughout Jesus' life; the gospels, the book of Acts, and the rest of the New Testament.
You are about to listen to the revelation being revealed live while recording the episode. Please create space within your heart, soul, and mind to receive from it what you need. This illumination created a fire in me that caused a new sense of intentionality in what I do. In November of 2022, during one of the episodes, the Holy Spirit pressed upon me to lead an in-depth study of the Book of Acts, so here we are, obedient and ready to see a move of God. The Book of Acts is the genesis of the church, and it is the second installment in Luke’s history of the ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ resurrection and ascension inaugurated a new era of God at work from within His people and through His people.
Kris Vallotton’s book Spiritual Intelligence mentions a concept called "the principle of the first mention.” “This principle states that the first time you hear information about any subject, it becomes the way in which you view that topic from that point on. In other words, the information you receive first about something creates a lens by which you view that subject. Everything you hear or experience after the first exposure to that topic will be processed through the information you receive first. This creates several concerns, the primary concern being the unhealthy dynamic that occurs when "first mention" information is wrong or inaccurate."
I believe this is the reason I was led to study the Book of Acts in November. The Holy Spirit desires to renew our minds (Rom 12:2) to the church’s beginning so that He can create a new lens through which believers view the church. Are you ready to see the church as it was in the beginning? The Holy Spirit is inviting us to join him on this journey.

In this episode, we dive deep into the fascinating story of Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus. Luke, the author of the book of Acts, beautifully illustrates how Christ can transform a person's life in an instant, and how this transformation can have a profound impact on an encounter with the world around us. Saul, who later becomes Paul, is a prime example of this transformation. He was a zealous persecutor of the early church, but one encounter with Christ on that fateful road to Damascus completely changed the trajectory of his life.
As we explore this story, we also delve into the spiritual truths that Luke wanted to impart to the early church. He wanted to emphasize the power of Christ's Lordship and the fact that persecuting the church is actually persecuting Jesus himself. These truths remain just as relevant and powerful today as they did in the early days of the church.
Through this episode, you will gain fresh insights that will help you deepen your walk with Christ. You will be reminded of the transformative power of Christ and the importance of living out your faith in a world that so desperately needs it.

In this episode, I recap the previous verses we covered in Acts 8, and I explore these two questions: why did Luke include Phillip's story in the scripture, and what are we to learn from them? The answer to these questions could be the key that opens the door to your next move in God.

In this episode, we continue to see the impact of Phillip's ministry. The word got back to the apostles that Samaria had accepted the word of God, so they sent Peter and John to meet up with Phillip. In this episode, we see how God used the persecution of the church to initiate the plans and purpose he had for Phillip to advance God's Kingdom Agenda. Jesus taught us in John 12:24 that unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone. If it dies, it produces much grain. Stephen was the first martyr in the church, and his life was not sown in vain. In this episode, I break down the history lesson provided by Stephen and how his actions reveal the fruits of a life "full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom" and how this applies to you and me.

Kris Vallotton’s book Spiritual Intelligence mentions a concept called "the principle of the first mention.” “This principle states that the first time you hear information about any subject, it becomes the way in which you view that topic from that point on. This creates several concerns, the primary concern being the unhealthy dynamic that occurs when "first mention" information is wrong or inaccurate."

The answer was standing by, waiting for the appointed time to be recognized. What does all this mean for you?

In this episode, I discuss the importance of giving yourself permission to take action. Recently in my own life, I have noticed that I failed to move forward into action because I was looking for permission to do so. 2 Tim 1:7 states that God has not given us the spirit of fear but has given us a spirit of power, love, and sound mind.

I often find it interesting to see how people respond to how God's power is working in and through others. In this episode, we see that many signs and wonders were taking place through the hands of the apostles, and while this was occurring, other people were afraid to join them, and others spoke highly of them. Why did Luke add this brief description of how the Holy Spirit was working in the Apostle? Was it to show us how others will perceive it, or was it to prepare us for what comes after the move of the Holy Spirit?
Either way, I want you to be encouraged and to know that the Holy Spirit knows exactly what you need so that you remain in Him. Download the episode now to discover the answer for yourself.

In November of 2022, during one of the episodes, the Holy Spirit was pressed upon me to lead an in-depth study of the Book of Acts, so here we are obedient and ready to see a move of God. The Book of Acts is the genesis of the church, and it is the second installment in Luke's history of the ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus' resurrection and ascension inaugurated a new era of God at work from within His people and through His people.
Kris Vallotton's book Spiritual Intelligence, mentions a concept called "the principle of the first mention". "This principle states that the first time you hear information about any subject, it becomes the way in which you view that topic from that point on. In other words, the information you receive first about something creates a lens by which you view that subject. Everything you hear or experience after the first exposure to that topic will be processed through the information you received first. This of course creates a number of concerns, the primary concern being the unhealthy dynamic that takes place when "first mention" information is wrong or inaccurate."
I believe this is the reason I was led to study the Book of Acts in November. The Holy Spirit desires the renewing of our minds (Rom 12:2) to the church beginning so that He can create a new lens for believers to view the church. As we approach the end of 2022, I was led to Paul’s prayer for the believers at the church of Ephesus, in Ephesians1:17-23, in anticipation of what will occur in 2023.
Have you ever thought about what caused Paul to pray this prayer for the saints? They were already believers, and the testimony of their faith in the Lord Jesus and their love for all the saints was good. However, Paul felt the need to pray for them, not just a typical prayer, but a prayer of power and focus. I believe Paul’s pray identifies a critical need in our lives today. His prayer focuses on three key areas:

I begin the episode; by continuing the conversation on Hope, and I will explore verses 14-18. Merrian-Webster defines Hope as: to cherish a desire with anticipation; to want something to happen or to be true. In the New Testament, Hope is defined as: the fulfillment of, a confident expectation, put one's trust in. Prior to Jesus showing up on the scene, every person living outside the Promise was without hope. Take a moment to think about the thousands of years billions of people endured living without hope. I think of my own life, and the years I lived in false hope or with the illusion of hope I painted in my mind, and I can only weep in my spirit. Now you have a better understanding of the Hope Paul is talking about and how this Hope changed the game for all of humanity. Download now
