You are now free to move about the cabin! Welcome to Unfasted - a podcast that's committed to empowering you with advice to move freely and live, love, work and play your best. This podcast brings together topics on health, wellness, mindfulness, and travel.
As an entrepreneur (and pilot-in-training), I've lived and worked an extraordinary life. From Philadelphia and New York City (where I was born and raised) and 13 years in the vibrant city of Montréal (French Canada) to living and working across Europe, I've unfastened myself from the typical life. I hope to empower you with simple hacks!
You’re now free to move about the cabin! Millenials are happier than Gen X and Baby Boomers and their secret seems to be travel! With convenience culture on the rise, think watching Netflix and ordering Uber eats, we need to get back to our Neanthradal nomadic roots and go explore! Here are my hacks: 1) Reframe travel as a true need, not a want. 2.) Just do it! Make the booking and don’t pysc yourself out of the investment or time to travel, you need it and the benefits far outweigh the costs. 3.) Don’t be overwhelmed by travel, it can be as simple as a weekend getaway. The point is to just get out of your little box.
You're now free to move about the cabin! Continuing our series to set the new year in motion, achieving that summer 2023 body is way easier if you can hack into the problem we ALL face. 52% of people actually make fitness a new year's resolution, but only 9% follow through on average. The problem then is accountability, and a few technological tools can be our solution to reach the finish line.
This is YOUR year so go and make it happen!

You're now free to move about the cabin! It's a brand new year, and there's so much to look forward to and enjoy this year such as new places, new friends, and of course new goals. But the one thing we can do to set ourselves up for success is to create a self-serving mind. After all your mind can be your best friend OR your worst enemy. Journaling is a great resource for release and reflection this year. On the very first page, however, I encourage you to kick off this year with a list of your favorite creature comforts.
Creature comforts are anything simple and blissful that helps you melt away stress. Examples include:
The next time anxiety or stress starts creeping up at the office, out with friends, or at home... turn to this laundry list and keep your focus on what really matters this year! Happy New Year!
You're now free to move about the cabin! In 1969 Mary Ainsworth constructed The Stange Situation Test to deduce three different attachment styles: Secure, Anxious, Avoidant. Understanding your archetype can help you better manage all aspects of your life and live a little more unfastened.
The Secure have been well attended to as children and thus are comfortable and open sharing their feelings with others. LEVERAGE your foundation of security to get out their to build an outcome your desire! However be wary of other archetypes when it comes to connections at work and romantically, and certainly be wary of your attachment to material things.
The Anxious tend to carry a lot of doubt and drama. This can be a good thing when sizing people up to trust, but do eventually some in. The anxious should work on setting and making progress towards goals, as well as recognizing that material comes simply come and go.
The Avoidant tends not to get too attached or open up too much. This is a win when it comes to attachment towards material things - for example, if you lose your phone just accept it and move on. However, Avoidants should realize there are others such as the Secure who are worth trusting and opening up to. Moreover, Avoidants should set clear goals to keep on track towards their realizing a future worth living!
You're now free to move about the cabin! Remember that movie with Ashton Kutcher?? Well, the Butterfly effect is a real phenomena that we can harness to create everlasting joy throughout our lives. Here's how:
1.) SMILE - because doing so triggers the release of neuropeptides that counteract stress
2.) PAY IT FORWARD - this really works! Buy someone a coffee and watch your joy exponenitate
3.) GRATITUDE journal - only write about amazingly awesome things!
4.) Connect w. POSITIVE PEOPLE - they've already got it going, so pull the benefits of their energy.
5.) Positive SELF-TALK - wake up each morning and say "I'm awesome"
6.) HUMOR - laughter really is the BEST medicine
7.) START each day with positivity - so it can build up throughout the day and your life.
