Exploring the relationship between entrepreneurship and human behaviour from a marketing standpoint.
π Don't make the mistake thinking that because you are an artist, you do not have to move like a businesswoman/businessman...

π When talking about positioning, the main opposition that I receive is: βI do not want to specialise because I will lose opportunities.β
This is not true. Au contraire, applying constraints will nurture the creativity, productivity, and efficiency of your business.
You do not believe me? Letβs talk about it then!

π Last I said in the last episode, today I continue the conversation about positioning for independent creative professionals in the music industry.
In this episode, I will focus on creator who share their craft online through platforms like Soundcloud, Bandcamp, etc.
I talk about my discovery of Cat Burns to give you an explicit example of a clear mission statement that drastically level up an artist positioning.
The idea is to show you how and why you should leverage those platforms to connect with people and nurture your fan base.

π§ Positioning is answer this fundamental question: "How do I become less interchangeable in the mind of my clients, costumers or fans?"
Positioning is one of the most powerful marketing concepts. However, I notice that not a lot of creative professionals in the music industry (and other industries tbh) understand that concept nor how to use it to their own advantage.
It's highly possible that this is your case. You have nothing to lose by listening to this. I actually believe that this is going to help you.

We all have 24 hours in our days. Nothing less, nothing more. However, it's easy to get caught up by our art/content/product creation process and use that as an excuse to not do important things for our business: connect with prospects, manage costumers/fans relationship, send emails, etc.
With this new year, I would like to start this journey with a couple of recommendations.

Since its inception, I've always been busy thinking about the ideal format for my podcast in French "Fallait Y Penser". Undecided, I asked my girlfriend to interview me on a specific topic. The subject was Confidence. After a few minutes of thought, she asked me the question I hadn't expected at all: "You often talk about trust, but what is trust for you?" π€―
AGAPE! π€ I stood in front of my microphone for five minutes trying to come up with something coherent, unfortunately without result. After a few days of reflection and research, I was able to find the words I was missing to express my idea and my understanding of the word "Confidence".

The mistake that many professionals, creatives and entrepreneurs make is to think that anyone can be their costumers. By making that statement, none of your perspective client or fan will feel that your brand, solution or product is tailored to them and their specific needs. That's where positioning plays a huge role.
Positioning is fundamental business strategy.
Position is an act of relativity.
Positioning is answering the question: βHow do I become less interchangeable in the mind of my audience/customers?β
