Biblical prophecy can be difficult and confusing to understand. But in 1 Thess 4:13-18, we gain confidence in the future hope of our resurrection and reunion in Christ.
When we pray Psalm 90, God reminds us of his constancy and our frailty, enabling us to live with wisdom, satisfaction, and purpose.
What should our response be toward persecuted Christians around the world? The apostle Paul reminds us to care, feel, and act because we are spiritual family.
The gospel is for all people, but sometimes we live like it is for “just us:” only people who look like me and live like me. In Amos 5-6, God’s Word challenges us to turn our “just us” lives into justice: living for the good of all people across any distinction.
Christians must count the cost for following Jesus. It’s not just about believing in our Savior, but also about following our Lord
How can we please God in our daily lives? The apostle Paul pinpoints three specific ways.
How does our faith grow strong during afflictions? In 1 Thessalonians 3, Paul provides three strategies for building beleaguered believers.
What ultimately matters in this life and the life to come? The apostle Paul reminds us that God's Word and people are the only eternal pursuits.
How can we have a model ministry? Paul explains how he and his coworkers lived out the gospel with their lives. He then encourages us to follow their example.
How can CBC be a church that encourages believers and astounds unbelievers? Paul impresses upon us the example of the Thessalonian church to take us to a new level of gospel impact.
Why should we be motivated to come back to church? What role can we play in the lives of other believers. The book of Hebrews challenges us to recognize how much we need one another.
What is the central truth of all human existence? In Amos 5:1-17, we find the answer, and this truth is a name, and this name means life.
Zack breaks down the passage of the Jerusalem council in Acts 15 and reminds us that we should not add anything to impede the progress of people discovering the Good News of Jesus.
The most important question anyone can answer is “Who is Jesus?” It’s so important that we get the truth about who God is. This morning’s message takes us through a wild story in the book of Acts and reminds us that we are made in God’s image, not the other way around.
What is God’s solution to your problems? The answer from Amos 4 might not feel good but it is exactly what we need to hear today.
