I'm often told that, as a Pastor, I shouldn't be speaking out about political issues or publicly backing a particular candidate...but is that true? Are there any Biblical examples of what happened when ministry leaders did so? In 1944 Nazi Germany, a train full of Jews being transported to a concentration camp stopped just outside a Christian church. The pastor and congregation heard their cries and the pastor got the choir & congregation singing a hymn. When it wasn't loud enough to drown out the pleading voices, he said "sing a little louder!" Not me. I will not go quietly into the night.
