Comedian: So...The other day, I was at a party, I start hooking up with a girl.
She is looking fine and all, and suddenly we start making out, I see where this is going.
Then she asks me if I am cool with it. I am like "cool with what?".
And then he tells me "I am a trans".

(crowd dead silent)

Comedian: You know what's a tranny? It's a woman with a dick. I was making out with a woman with a dick...

(Silence intensifies)

Comedian: Why you guys are dead silent? Jeez this audience is as dead as on the 13th of November (makes reference to the Paris attacks at the Bataclan where armed terrorist opened fire on the crowd).

Crowd: Fuck you! Get out.

(Comedian walks off stage)

So, this was the atmosphere at 11pm on a Friday night, just before I get on stage. I could hear how bad he was doing from the "artist room" backstage, which constists of a tiny mirror, and jam packed props, bags, curtains.

I brought my own bottle of water. I smoked a spliff at least an hour ago and it starts wearing off, but now I don't have the time to roll another one because this bum of a comedian is going to be crucified on stage, so I am getting ready to go.

This is when that small internal voice sink in, asking "why in hell did I decide to do a gig in Paris anyway?".

I just drove 800km (400 miles roughly) the day before, and I am leaving tomorrow. The crowd is a mix of a few friends, and family I haven't seen for ages, roughly 9 people.
The rest if the crowd isn't mine. They're here to watch acts before me, and after. I am just a mere transition from one act to the next. I have 45 minutes to convince myself that I am a great singer, If I can convince myself, I can convince them. I am still focused though, I made sure I was ready for this gig, I know my set, I didn't touch a beer for the last 2 weeks, just to make sure that my voice would be on point.
The day before my sister asked "Are you a part of a cult or something?", as if not wanting to drink is something almost unnatural.

(Feedback sound)

I start the song, but I thank the 9 people that came to see me, thank them for being patient wih me, I also sound apologetic for having witnessed this dreadful comedian with his shitty tranny joke.

L'Etage, the place I am playing, have survived the last 15 years. Which is more than most establishments can say in Paris. They survived the pandemic, they survived a change in ownership, and now they'll survive the next horror coming their way.

It's true that appart from the sojamsession organized every Friday nights, the rest of the week, it's a lot of trannies and drag queen shows. That's something I am not familiar with anymore, I was used to it 15 years ago when performing in Paris, because this is the capital of those sort of things, so I became desensetized,

I am being told by the event organizer that "it's everywhere now, and that's what the audience wants. Drag Queen shows."

I shrug.

"You see, they don't have kids, so they just party all week, normally we can fill up 300 people in here, this is madness."

I can imagine the madness. Anyway, during the intro of my song, all I can think about is the tranny joke, the fact that nobody announced me on stage, that I haven't peformed at this place for 15 years, and that after spending gazillion in promotion, only 9 of my people came for me, and that music cannot fill up places anymore.

Lucky for me that night, a Nigerian singer called Chidi EP and his crew started really getting my songs, and reversed the mood by motivating the crowd. I am thankful to him, I am probably lucky that he was playing after me, he was probably so hyped up to go on stage.

He also did great, we both did. We were probably the best acts that night, I am of course not being humble, but I guess, just let me have this one.

I tell the event organizer that he can keep the change, and refused the money he wanted to give me. The deal was for me to bring 20 people at least, which I didn't.

I still had a good time though. It was great to go back to Paris, and I am glad I wasn't that comedian.

Have you ever seen someone bombing on stage before?

Sorry for the wait, I had to lower a bit the resolution and pixels, it was taking forever to load when above 1G.

The joy of being back in the countryside in France :D back to the stone age!

For now since we're back home, it's been constant handywork, I forgot that living on a farm means dealing with the farm, and everything around the farm like the elements, animals, rodents, aaaaaaaaah...

It's currently -6c and I know it's going to be much colder in the next few days, the only ones rejoycing it are the kids.

So I spent a lot of time finding wood, I might make a post about it because it took me on some adventures, I met people, dogs, and found wood.

Back to the video, you'll see some jellyfish, some scubas people, a turtoise, penguins, and the famous beluga whale that was just having so much fun in the aquarium flexing his glutes.

The music is by this person and all edited by myself

HI everyone!

This is a video from the gig last week in Orgiva, Spain!

It was the second part of the concert, as I didn't record the first part, I was so focused on setting up the equipment, that I

forgot about the camera.

There was a little bit less people on the second part of the concert, but there were still a good atmosphere.

It was fun to see my kids running around during my performance and maybe a little bit stressful too.

I kept on wanting to shout "stop running you gonna hurt yourself" hahah, but I refrained myself to do so.

The song that I picked, is Rifle Of Chords from my first album "Neo" released in 2013.

I normally like to play around with a loopstation and beatbox, which is something that allow me to record a loop then improvise over it, I might get a brand new loopstation to be able to do that again.

As you can hear, it wasn't the best idea not to face the camera in front of the speaker, somehow we can hear the audience chatting more than the music, but it will give you the feeling of the concert.

Also the fact that we don't see me, could be a problem for some hahah, but I can ensure you that it's me playing, next time I'll make sure I am in the frame.

Rifle Of Chords

They're coming, coming to set you free

Finally as they "say long time no see"

Their music, is their weapon of choice

If you doubt it, just listen to the rifle of chords

They're moving, moving too fast for you

I bet you see a little bit of them in you

I bet you've heard all their latest reviews

If you doubt it, just listen to the rifle of chords, to the rifle of chords

Don't be sad, when they're gone, keeping close to you a broken plectrum

They'll be back with brand new tunes, and keys from another world, which kicks you to the moon

They're riding, riding words like no one else

They're reaching, reaching the top of every mountains without fear

And something special in their hands they must succeed

I've never seen such a cool band

Don't be sad, when they're gone, keeping close to you a broken plectrum

They'll be back with brand new tunes, and keys from another world

Don't be sad, when they're gone, keeping close to you a broken plectrum

They'll be back with brand new tunes, and keys from another world

Which kicks you to the moon

I am really thankful that @trucklife-family invited me to play at the association Huella Meraki, I really loved the atmosphere, and it felt good to play again.

I made a few mistakes there and there, but all in all, it was great to feed of people energy, playing at home or releasing music online, you rarely get an instant feedback and forget that we make music so other can enjoy it.

I hope that you will enjoy it, and onto the next one ^^

Hey fam!

I hope you're all doing well, this is what we were doing this weekend, a little bit of exploring & scouting for a music video, my brother from another mother @rubido accepted to show us where he lives ahahaha I am kidding, but at the same time, it would probably be the best place to have a super hero lair, or that could totally be the badass underworld where the insurgents would organize the resistence against the machines, watchout Elon & Neuralink!

You can check Rubido's post about it here.

The military facility is situated in our area, and is just gigantic, probably a little bit dangerous, not kid friendly, I repeat, this is not a "bring-your-kid-at-work-day", we bumped into a dog, of the size of a horse, with an overgrown fur over his harness.

Imagine the family looking for that dog (his name is probably Grover), little do they know that Grover started his own gang in a military facility, that somewhat reminds me of a famous wasteland where people trade Nuka Cola caps as a currency, if you don't understand this reference, you are probably over 50 and have a job.

That dog was nasty, and while I was finishing to shoot additional shots, I could hear Rubido calmly talking to the dog "it's alright buddy, you don't have to growl at me. Ed! When you're coming out, don't rush ok? There is a Pyrenees dog, with possible rabbies."

Lucky for us the dog heard a crackhead's footstep, and decided to change target last minute, and charge him instead. Your loss, we taste amazing!

There are countless amount of manholes, by the way @rubido kept on saying the word "manhole" with his Southern accent and watching my reaction like he said something very profound, and indeed, I started talking about manholes too because the place is full of it, manholes this, manholes that.

Look out for manholes!! The place is a little bit filthy of course, don't expect a welcoming party with flower necklaces singing "Aloha", however the hangars have a mind blowing acoustic, of course as a singer, that loves to constantly hear the sound of his own voice, it was the utmost pleasant thing in the world. It's like living in a reverb world.

That filth, is what however looks interesting on camera, for a music video, so I got plenty of footage to play with, but it's for another time, as I will release the music video (yes!! it's a music video for a cover!) and also a making of 😁!

There are 9 gigantic buildings to explore, and we barely scractched the surface. Each building has its own texture, quality, and is just the perfect place to shoot things, and probably people too.

From time to time, you can hear footsteps, but you never catch these ewoks, like they disappear into the wall cracks. You might even hear a car or two driving by, it's always reassuring to remember that the world hasn't turned to shit, and it's just an abandonned building with potential "crackheads of the year".

Oh and also a dad playing with his "son", I mean, who in the world would take their kid to play ball at the abandonned military facility in this part of town 🤣?

Well, they would probably survive the apocalypse, barely noticing a difference...

This looks sick right?

You can imagine that I've let my imagination run crazy with travellings, pan shots, beautiful 3/4 shots and a wide angle, @rubido was really easy to work with, as he as a friend doesn't feel like we're work at all, really cool with me being bat shit crazy, he pretends I didn't say something outrageous, or he adds a line as outrageous as mine, you can imagine our wives just rolling eyes for hours when we are together hahah.

But again, I'll talk more about the music video when I'll release it, and with the bonus!! (woohoo, I have to sell it a little haha)

I don't know why, I loved the fact that you could be stepping on something dangerous and sharp every meters, it would be great for a movie too, very cinematic.

That's it for today, I hope that you enjoyed watching our little adventure, and don't hesitate to tell me how you feel, but only if you are in a safe space my little snowflakes.

Let me know if you need a different link for the vid!

Omg people, it's been a while!

In all honesty, I was trying to see how long I could do without it, and I guess that's the sweet spot, 2 weeks.

The idea was to force myself, try to just stop even thinking about hive and work on my album, not even on the recording process, but just the writing. Song by song, it's going somewhere I guess.

I surely won't give myself any deadlines.

In the meantime, today I wanted to work on something different, and decided to record it, just to forget about the album for one day.

This song by Nina Simone, I posted it once in 2018, recording it at the parc in Joburg, but this version here is very different, I like playing the bass & the chords at the same time, also adding a few solo notes here and there. I actually sound good haha, me just saying it is a miracle, I am learning how to stop criticizing everything I do.

I was a little tense at first but then I chilled, and everything was fine, again I think it's because I didn't record with a purpose of showing it to anyone, and I think that's when it's better.

I was discussing with a friend on how difficult it is to change your mindset, of not thinking "Oh that would be perfect for a post" and instead, just trying to be in the moment, not thinking of the rewards, the outcome, and doing things because we genuinely want to do them and not because we excpect something in return.

It's actually great to just witness the moment, not taking any pictures, just enjoying things for what they are.

I kinda forgot how to take my mind off the rat race.

Am I coming back? Well I wasn't really gone, but for now I have to finish what I am doing, I realize that there is a limited amount of hours in each day, and I really have to make the best of it, all the spare time I can find is going to write, fix a chorus, a verse, and also some farming a bit...Ah and also taking care of a family.

So short answer, I'll be watching you :) (in a non creepy way)

Oh, also, I got dreadlocks now, not surprising when you know the man hahaha.

My baby don't care for shows

My baby don't care for clothes

My baby just cares for me

My baby don't care for cars and races

My baby don't care for high-tone places

Liz Taylor is not his style

And even Lana Turner's smile

Is somethin' he can't see

My baby don't care who knows

My baby just cares for me

Baby, my baby don't care for shows

And he don't even care for clothes

He cares for me

My baby don't care

For cars and races

Baby don't care for

He don't care for high-tone places

Liz Taylor is not his style

And even Liberace's smile

Is something he can't see

Is something he can't see

I wonder what's wrong with baby

My baby just cares for

My baby just cares for

My baby just cares for me

This is a very impromptu video! I was minding my own business, playing around with my new phone, installing my guitar tuner & metronome, and I thought "wouldn't it be nice to record while you're singing?" and indeed, I had fun.

The name of the song is really cool, I've always looooved that song and always played it with bands.

You'll find version with Marvin Gaye, versions with Credence Clearwater, and many more, classic soul song.

That's really the first song that came to mind, while I was playing around.

As you can see spring is coming back, I wasn't ready at all, I am still buying stacks of wood as it's cold until April.

We're also planning on travelling a bit, if they don't close the borders, so I haven't planned any gardening yet, maybe I could think of plants that don't require too much attention.

As you notice I am posting a little less often, I am busy with dad & homeschooling stuffs, and also cleaning. I don't think I should post about cleaning, you should see what I just pulled out the sink, nasty shit.

This is when I now realize that even on paper, it's not an interesting subject, so I am out!

I Heard It Through the Grapevine

Marvin Gaye

Ooh, I bet you're wonderin' how I knew

'Bout your plans to make me blue

With some other guy you knew before

Between the two of us guys you know I love you more

It took me by surprise I must say

When I found out yesterday

Don'tcha know that I

Heard it through the grapevine

Not much longer would you be mine

Oh I heard it through the grapevine

Oh I'm just about to lose my mind

Honey, honey yeah

(Heard it through the grapevine)

(Not much longer would you be my baby, ooh, ooh, ooh)

I know a man ain't supposed to cry

But these tears I can't hold inside

Losin' you would end my life you see

'Cause you mean that much to me

You could have told me yourself

That you love someone else

Instead I

Heard it through the grapevine

Not much longer would you be mine

Oh I heard it through the grapevine

And I'm just about to lose my mind

Honey, honey yeah

(Heard it through the grapevine)

(Not much longer would you be my baby, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)

People say believe half of what you see, son

And none of what you hear

But I can't help bein' confused

If it's true please tell me dear

Do you plan to let me go

For the other guy you loved before?

Don'tcha know I

Heard it through the grapevine

Not much longer would you be mine

Baby I heard it through the grapevine

Ooh I'm just about to lose my mind

Honey, honey yeah

(Heard it through the grapevine)

(Not much longer would you be my baby, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Honey, honey, I know

That you're lettin' me go

Said, I heard it through the grapevine

Heard it through the grapevine

20 days ago I was showing the lyrics of a new song and I thought that it was time for you to hear the song.

As I haven't recorded the song yet, I prefer to keep it for the blockchain fam, and release only on 3speak, a kind of an exclusive goodie!

You

I leave you the sun is low

Every day like the day before

But you know where I belong

We gotta bring the bread

We gotta bring the dough

No angel to right our wrongs

Living day by day

Riding waves by waves

Your love is what keeping me sane

A child is on the way

No trip, no need to sway

If it's heaven bring the sunlight in my day

For You, I will take a hit

For you, and right before I do

I will look into stars, stare into your eyes

Darling you're the love I waited

You, I will take a bullet for you

And right before I do, look into your eyes

Painting all the stars

And dream it for another day

As above so below

There's nothing down below

A sadness I'll never know

We don't need anything but the love to keep our hopes

As high as life will go

Where have you been hiding?

All this time I've been wondering

That maybe we were supposed to fall

To fall and learn what is

True love, its true meaning

And the reason that we're on the plane together.

For You, I will take a hit

For you, and right before I do

I will look into stars, stare into your eyes

Darling you're the love I waited

You, I will take a bullet for you

And right before I do, look into your eyes

Painting all the stars

And dream it for another day

As I've already talked about what the song is about in the post about the lyrics, maybe I can focus on how I want the song to sound like.

It's a slow Rnb Soul song, it will probably have a Motown sound to it, with bass drum piano, I think I want to keep it simple.

The guitar will be the main instrument, I haven't thought too much about when and where I am going to record it,maybe in a studio, maybe on my pc!

If the song doesn't play...Well there's no Youtube link this time around, so if it doesn't work, just take my word for it, it sounds good!

I am currently playing around win the chorus, replacing "I will take a hit " by "I will take a bullet", or "I will keep the beat", or "I will do the trip", just to see if they are interchangeable.

Thanks to @lionmom for being the camerawoman during her break!

Peace ^^

That's a cool track by Gnarls Barkley; a band that had few very cool songs.

I like the 2 steps rhythm, it reminds me of Love Don't Come Easy.

"Smiley Faces"

[Verse]

What did you do? What did you say?

Did you walk - or did you run away?

Where are you now? Where have you been?

Did you go alone - or did you bring a friend?

[Hook #1]

I need to know this - cause I notice when you're smilin'

Out in the sun havin' fun and you're feelin' free

And I can tell you know how hard this life can be

But you keep on smilin' for me

[Verse]

What went right? What went wrong?

Was it the story - or was it the song?

Was it overnight - or did it take you long?

Was knowing your weakness what made you strong?

[Hook #2]

Or all the above - oh how I love to see you smilin'

And oh yeah - take a little pain just in case

You need something warm to embrace

To help you put on a smilin' face

Hey, put on a smilin' face

[Bridge]

Don't you go off into the new day with any doubt

Here's a summary of somethin' that you could smile about:

Say for instance, my girlfriend she bugs me all the time

But the irony of it all is that she loves me all the time

[Hook #3]

I want to be you - whenever I see you smilin'

Cause it's easily one of the hardest things to do

Your worries and fears become your friends

And they end up smilin' at you

Put on a smilin' face

The lyrics are quite smart, it's about how you deal with adversity, and put on a smiling face.

I recorded 2 versions, this was the second one, there is a moment when I speed up a little too much, but it's the type of song that needs that drive.

It's almost the end of the week, remember not to look too much at the drop, and remember during that time when you're posting you're accumulatin gmore HIVE, which is also cool!

Alright, I am quite quiet today haha, if you have anything interesting organized this weekend, don't hesitate to share it with us in the comment section!

Hey, you wanna see pretty pictures while I am telling you a story?

Cool!

"What's the band name?"

A dude with blond hair is staring at me, and give me a pen.

Band...Are we a band? Yes, we play in a garage every Saturday morning, the only day when there is no class, yes there is 2 guitar players, a drummer, and a bass player, yes we play covers, and the year is 1998.

Every wanna be band is playing Wonderwall by Oasis, Jamiroquai is the hottest shit, people still smoke Marlboro and CD players are spinning with Alanis Morissette.

Of course, it was obvious that we would play No Woman No Cry, because it's fucking easy.

C G Am F

That's it. That's it?

Wow that's so easy then...So why we aren't sounding like the CD?

I guess we should just play louder and louder, eventually we will get it!

We never really did, you don't learn Reggae in a year, or even a lifetime.

Every Saturday, we would gather, play a bunch of C G Am F, and then call it a day after 2 hours of screaming and exhausted. 😄

No technique, no understanding of intensities, or silence, but just the pure joy of being able to do like our idols.

I remember recording our first rehearsals, with a mixing desk, that I borrowed from my father.

Hearing ourselves for the first time was incredible to me. I then started recording all our rehearsals, then play them at home.

I guess that's how we got better, by listening ourselves, and being a critic.

Anyway we weren't really a band, just a bunch of kids playing instruments, I was just the singer, and one night we go to see a real Reggae concert.

Seeing these pros on stage, was a revelation to me. 13 years old Ed that day decided that it was the coolest shit he had ever seen.

We were so fucking excited after the band playing, there were an open mic and I entered our name.

"What's the name of the band?"

"I don't Know"

""I don't know" is the name of the band?"

"Just hold on a sec"

I turn to my fellow musicians, "how should we call ourselves?"

Quite frankly, I kinda forgot what was the name of our band, I think something shitty from the 90s, like KAAZE with two As of course.

"Ladies and Gents, welcome on stage KAAZE"

The stage, was a big stage for a small band like us. I had no idea that the stage would feel so big.

Man, my heart is racing like crazy, we are all looking at each other like "are we really doing this?"

"Hey Ed, we have to do No Woman No Cry, that's our best!"

By this, Tom the guitar player meant, that you can't fuck up C G Am F.

I didn't know how to play the guitar at the time, my mission was to sing, hold the mic stand, and sing.

I step forward into the light, my heart is even faster now.

In the audience I see people I've been knowing for my whole childhood, other school kids from the area, some of them recognize me, start laughing, one of them told me afterward that they thought I was about to do some standup, I am the funny guy, not the singing type, that's for sure.

The bass starts, then the drummer, who was my long time friend at the time, the only one that pursued a pro career as a musician like I did.

He was a good drummer! Still is.

Anyway I am drifting, back to what's happening on that stage one day in 1998.

The 2 guitarists of the band, start strumming with precisions. Tom and Nicolas are twins, and they sound very complimentary, I always thought it was a cracking concept to have twins musicians.

They didn't make it as musos, one is a pharmacist, the other probably got into a very lucrative political job.

But on that day in 1998 on that stage, they are musicians. We all are, I hold onto the mic stand like it's the only thing that keeps me from collapsing out of pure fear.

I counted correctly the intro, it's my time to sing, I close my eyes, and start the first verse.

And...It was magical. It was so quick, I felt like it lasted forever at the same time.

I open my eyes at the end of the song, the people are cheering, our buddies are buying us drinks, we celebrate :)

I was hooked.

We continued gathering every Saturday, we learnt more songs. Eventually I moved to Nancy, and did a music school, with the same drummer from that band.

We had more bands, we split. All band eventually split, it's just a part of life.

I don't speak the the drummer anymore, but he was a good friend.

I offered him to perform with me at the Olympia many years later, after I did that TV show in France, but he wasn't interested, different stroke I guess.

"I am a jazz musician now" he told me on the phone. "I can't do commercial stuffs".

Alright then. No hard feelings. I did the Olympia with another percussionist, and it was great.

No Woman No Cry is the first song I've ever played on a stage, and I've kept it with me, right in my pocket, all along my musical career.

I haven't played it for years, and when I mean years, AT LEAST 20 years, because when I got really serious about music, I wasn't interested in just C G Am F anymore, that's noob stuff haha.

But this year, I am introspective, and I like to revisit my past, just for the sake of it, and see how can make sound these 4 simple, simple chords, and see what I can feel when I do so.

A long time has passed, and the words don't have the same meaning 24 years later.

But I still remember how I felt on that stage, because it's still here today when I play the song.

I don't think it will ever go away

[Chorus]

No woman, no cry

No woman, no cry

No woman, no cry

No woman, no cry

[Verse 1]

'Cause, 'cause, 'cause I remember when we used to sit

In the government yard in Trenchtown

Oba, observing the hypocrites, yeah

Mingle with the good people we meet, yeah

Good friends we have had, oh good friends we've lost along the way, yeah

In this bright future you can't forget your past

So dry your tears I say, yeah

[Chorus]

No woman, no cry

No woman, no cry, eh, yeah

Little darling don't shed no tears

No woman, no cry

[Verse 2]

Eh, Said, said, said I remember when we used to sit

In the government yard in Trenchtown, yeah

And then Georgie would make the fire light, I say

A log wood burning through the night

Then we would cook corn meal porridge, I say

Of which I'll share with you, yeah

My feet is my only carriage

And so I've got to push on through

But while I'm gone

[Bridge]

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

Everything's going to be alright

So No woman, no cry

No woman, no cry, I say

Oh little, oh little darling, don't shed no tears

No woman, no cry, eh

[Chorus]

No woman, no woman, no woman, no cry

No woman, no cry

One more time I've got to say

Oh little, little darling, please don't shed no tears

No woman, no cry

Yes!!! Let's do this! I am trying to upload with a different laptop that has a good old LAN cable and see if it's more stable for 3speak!

Finally, I am doing it!

It's been a week since I have been trying to have a good version of this woman's work, a song by Kate Bush and covered by Maxwell that is surpisingly difficult for a dude, it's always been a challenge of mine, and I've spent the whole week refusing drinks left and right, just to keep the voice pristine, I even avoided my sick children dodging a massive bullet haha, and went on a location scouting 2 days ago, where I bumped into gigantic sentient tree beings, and got rained on (what?).

I was set on my filming location, when this morning I woke up at 6am, and after drinking another ginger and lemon concoction, I opened the door, loaded the equipment in the car at 730 on the dot, and 5 minutes later, I realize that there is something incredible going on in my yard.

Crazy fog making everything look completely different! I should already be gone, driving to the location I picked, but for some reason, without even thinking, I unload everything and set it up right here, where I normally do my videos.

I am still out of breath when I started recording the take haha, you can hear it in the silences.

It's alright, I will have plenty of other opportunities to shoot in the forest, this was worth it! Up until now, I never really managed to time the sunrise perfectly in my other videos, but this time around, it turned out so nice!

That's why I am so happy that it's posted on 3speak (finger crossed, I had to restart the upload 3 times, I am just going to leave it all night and hope for the best)!

I will add a YT link if you want to watch it in 4k :)

I really enjoy so much seeing the fog moving like this, it feels like I am in the cloud, it reminds me of @yidneth music video she did at the top of the mountain!

It's always a challenge to film with limited light, but the colors are really popping out, I am happy it happened for this song in particular. There is some post prod work of course, increased saturation, sharpness, contrast, broghtness etc... The usual haha...

I only recorded one version this time around, just because the sun would look completely different 5 minutes later, in some way it's just a snapshot of the moment.

At first, I added a reverb on the audio track, but after a long discussion with my dear wife, we both decided that it was working better without the reverb, though the original has a reverb on the voice.

I am supposed to think of the next song on Monday, but I just want to appreciate this one a little bit longer, the song is really a beautifully crafted song, not mine of course haha, I can't believe Kate Bush wrote it when she was 16 years old.

After 13 years of trying, I am finally posting this one hahaha.

Of course, it isn't perfect at all, and right after finishing editing I was already pointing out what wasn't working, but this time, I am going to let it go, it's done. I can't even listen to it anymore, that's weird right?

Ok it seems to still be uploading, note to oneself, always save what you wrote on a notepad.

I've listened to it again it's terrible...I am going to delete it...

I changed my mind again I am closing my eyes and pressing publish!

This Woman's Work

Maxwell

Pray God you can cope

I'll stand outside

This woman's worth

This woman's world

Oh it's hard on a man

Now his part is over

Now starts the craft of the father

I know you've got a little life in you left

I know you've got a lotta strength left

I know you've got a little life in you left

I know you've got a lotta strength left

I should be cryin' but I just can't let it show

I should be hopin' but I can't stop thinkin'

All the things we should've said that are never said

All the things we should've done that we never did

All the things we should've given, but I didn't

Oh darlin', make it go

Make it go away

Give me these moments

Give them back to me

Give me your little kiss

Give me your...

Give me your hand baby

(I know you've got a lotta strength)

Give me your pretty hand

(I know you've got a little life in you left)

Ooo show me you understand

(I know you've got a lotta strength left)

Your lovechild

(I know you've got a little life in you left)

Whatever you need baby

(I know you've got a lotta strength left)

Give me your hand

(I know you've got a little life in you left)

Give me your love

(I know you've got a lotta strength left)

I should be cryin' but I just can't let it show baby

I should be hopin' but I can't stop thinkin

All the things we should've said that we never said

All the things we should've done that we never did

All the things that you wanted from me

All the things that you needed from me

All the things we should've given, but I didn't

Oh darlin', make it go away now,

Just make it go away.

The weather kept on being foolish and such, so the decision to record in the house was becoming a certainty ^^

It's a song by H.E.R with a really cool chord progression!

Focus

H.E.R.

Me

Can you focus on me?

Baby, can you focus on me?

Babe

Hands in the soap

Have the faucet's running

And I keep looking at you

Stuck on your phone

And you're stuck in your zone

You don't have a clue

But I don't wanna give up

Baby, I just want you to get up

Lately I've been a little fed up

Wish you would just focus on

Me

Can you focus on me?

Baby, can you focus on me?

Me

Me

Can you focus on me?

Baby, can you focus on me?

Lazy and broke?

No, he get this money

So I guess I can't complain

But I feel alone even when we're alone

And that don't cost a thing

But I don't wanna give up

Baby, I just want you to get up

Lately I've been a little fed up

Wish you would just focus on

Me

Can you focus on me?

Baby, can you focus on me?

Baby

Me

Can you focus on me?

Baby, can you focus on me?

Me

Baby, focus

Can't you see?

I just wanna love you, baby

Look me in my eyes

I hope you are all having a delightful week! I don't have much to say today, I guess it isn't always a bad thing to be silent. Let's Focus on the song (see what I did here?)

It's my song, but I don't know it doesn't feel like it's my song.

It feels that someone else wrote it. Is it because I haven't played it for a long time? Why do I always have to be so hypercritical about my own work?

Why cover always sound better than my own songs?

This song, called 777 was written in 2012, and didn't make it to my first album. You will notice that the lyrics are very fitting in today's world.

I don't look like I am having a good time, it's just because I spent the whole day trying to find a moment to record, I had an idea about setting up my studio out there, but life got the best of me, and I had to improvise.

I hope you don't mind seeing the same backdrops from different angles, I always try to make it look different.

Right now, we're next to the apple trees, next time who knows!

The lyrics, well you'll have to guess them :)

When did we start, when did we stop acting like we care?

When did we change, we change the game acting like care?

We got it all wrong

For the anecdote, if you're interested, it was once of the first song i recorded and posted almost 4 years ago at the beginning of my crypto journey.

It's been a long road haha, a lot of content completely forgotten, lot of video posted with few bucks made, and now, only now after all that work it starts paying off.

Does it sound familiar? Haha, a lot of us here, gave it all, even thought we could make a living with it, and perhaps had to readjust our expectations along the way, however I have a feeling that this time around, things are different.

I had the idea of playing this song again, just to see where I am at, to bring new eyes, I waited for a clear sky, for at least a week now, raining every day!

Finally, the sky cleared for a little while, but what was the hardest to beat, was the cold! Oh god, my hands were freezing!

For that matter, it was quite difficult to play the pentatonic, the first take wasn't that great lol.

Before recording the second take, the birds stopped singing, so I knew it was my cue! After the that clouds covered the sky once more, I knew there won't be another take :/ I am happy with this one though!

I changed the Lyrics a little :D to fit my narrative!

Cheers!

Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder

Isn't she lovely

Isn't she wonderful

Isn't she precious

Less than one minute old

I never thought through love we'd be

Making one as lovely as she

But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she pretty

Truly the angel's best

Boy, I'm so happy

We have been heaven blessed

I can't believe what God has done

Through us he's given life to one

But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she lovely

Life and love are the same

Life is a MIscha

The meaning of her name

Lerato, it could have not been done

Without you who conceived the one

That's so very lovely made from love

Majestuous is a real word

I am pretty sure that being an artist, is doing unexpected things, and I am pretty sure I am subverting all expectations with this incredible short film about cranes!

I felt that it was time to talk about cranes, they are here every year anyway, so I might just film them, and then one leads to another, as I just like being over the top, I made a short movie about cranes.

You won't really learn much, you might not even understand my thick accent, but one thing for sure, you are going to see some cranes from a relative distance.

I have trouble saying "particularly" The music is played by a young musician called Ed Privat, and in case you're asking "who's the actor narrating", I found him on fiver, a dude called Ed Privat.

This might just become the new thing everyone will do on hive soon, narrating about hedgehogs, goats, and perhaps pigeons.

Cranes...

Back on dry land!

Hey there!

I hope you had a great weekend! After our excurscion to the seaside last week, something with a more controlled environment today.

Have you seen how well Hive is doing lately? I am so excited about it, I see many people finally making money, and I can't help but be reminded of the bull run on 2017 and the possibility it brought for many of us!

I cannot wait to see more people onboarding, and discovering new amazing content. Everyone has a different to profit of this great opportunity, some will just sell high and buy low, me I think my prefered way of taking advantage of the moment, is to make more amazing content.

Today I play it safe with an all time favourite, I still have a goal in mind to bring as many people on Hive as possible, and sometimes it requires very famous songs!

Let me know in the comment section, if there's a song that you would like to see me playing, if your song get picked, you earn 1 HIVE! Deal?

Cheers!

Ed

I’m Not the Only One

Sam Smith

You and me we made a vow

For better or for worse

I can't believe you let me down

But the proof is in the way it hurts

For months on end I've had my doubts

Denying every tear

I wish this would be over now

But I know that I still need you here

You say I'm crazy

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done

But when you call me baby

I know I'm not the only one

You've been so unavailable

Now sadly I know why

Your heart is unobtainable

Even though Lord knows you kept mine

You say I'm crazy

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done

But when you call me baby

I know I'm not the only one

I have loved you for many years

Maybe I am just not enough

You've made me realize my deepest fear

By lying and tearing us up

You say I'm crazy

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done

But when you call me baby

I know I'm not the only one

You say I'm crazy

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done

But when you call me baby

I know I'm not the only one

I know I'm not the only one

I know I'm not the only one

And I know, and I know, and I know

And I know, and I know, and I know, know

Here is a piece of realness for you, we had a beautiful moment on the beach even with the cold, of course I had my guitar ready to play :D

It's recorded at the Cap de L'Homy where we took the kids for a road trip! I already knew that I would play "Ain't No Sunshine", because of the cloudy weather, I am a smart ass!

Bill Withers, is one of my favourite artist of all time, he had such a peculiar career, decided to stop being a singer in the later part of his life, there is a documentary about it, where he rekindle his love for music with musician/ artist Raul Midon, who also is specialized in handpicking guitar like I am.

I think Bill would like my version, even with the wind.

Ain't No Sunshine

Bill Withers

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

It's not warm when she's away

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And she's always gone too long

Anytime she's goes away

Wonder this time where she's gone

Wonder if she's gone to stay

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And this house just ain't no home

Anytime she goes away

And I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

I know, I know

Hey I oughta leave young thing alone

But ain't no sunshine when she's gone, woh woh

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Only darkness every day

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And this house just ain't no home

Anytime she goes away

Anytime she goes away

Anytime she goes away

Anytime she goes away
