I set the intention this season to have deeper, more challenging conversations where we had the opportunity to sit in the comfort of some potential disagreement - so how did I do?
In today's episode, I reflect on my experiences during this last season and share some of the things I learned!

It can be so hard to be in a relationship with someone who is completely different than you - or that you strongly disagree with!
And we tend to respond in interesting ways when we find ourselves in this situation - if we are feeling generous we might just choose to focus on what we agree on, or we put the relationship in the agree-to-disagree category, both potentially keeping the relationship shallow, or we leave the relationship making the other person a pariah and someone we label as toxic.
But what if there was another way of doing it? Of making our differences the reason why we are in relationship?

But what happens when it doesn't?

It's so easy to feel stuck - or hopeless. But what if...it's actually what is supposed to happen?

What's the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear the word feminism?
For some it's a battle cry, for some, it's home, for some, it's a dirty word.
Whatever thoughts come to mind it can be hard at times to believe that in 2024 we still have to fight for equality between the sexes - and at times it can be easy to become disheartened.
But there is so much reason to hope!! Yes, there is so much more to do - but the battle looks different than it used and the future is bright!

In our society we can often be hyper-focused on the individual - we tend to think in terms of I and not so much in terms of We. Even in some of our spiritual communities, the tendency is more I than We.

Joining me for the conversation are two amazing human beings:

Our relationships need care and nurturing - including the relationship we have with ourselves! So how do you care for yourself and others, while dealing with the demands and needs of life?
Joining me for that conversation is Janessa Finley!
Janessa is a healer and coach whose mission is to bring love and connection to those who have all but given up on having fulfilling and nurturing relationships. At the core of every single human is a need for connection, yet we inadvertently create patterns to push others away and protect ourselves. Sadly, this leads to never cultivating the loving relationships our hearts desire. The secret lies in the relationship you have with yourself as it creates the relationships you have with others. Janessa teaches, through a path of self-discovery, how to love and embrace yourself so you can extend this same love and connection to others.

Have you ever been at a party - walked up to the food counter, and immediately been filled with dread? You want to eat...but you want to stay on your 'diet.' You want to eat...but you don't want to beat yourself up about what you ate. You want to eat...but none of what's offered is 'healthy' enough, and you don't want to set off a health issue.
I know I have been there - and the anxiety around food can suck all the joy out of the experience.

As human beings we seem to view the world through the lens of problems - we see problems, we create problems, we solve problems. And times it can feel like we are addicted to problems.
But is that the only way to see thing things going on in our lives?
Can we look at problems in a new way - and what happens if we do?
That is the question that today's guest wrestled with!
Tricia Becker is a Master of Alchemy! She has spent 15 years studying and obsessing over many modalities. Many of us have been taught that our bodies and the sensual feelings that can come from them are 'wrong' 'bad' or 'dangerous.
Unfortunately having that belief system cuts us off from our powerful and life-changing (and enhancing) life force!
Joining me for today's vulnerable and amazing conversation is Naomi Harris.
Naomi is 'The Pleasure Naturopath', a Naturopath and Somatic Sexuality Coach with a passion for pleasure in all of its forms. She works with women with pelvic and sexual pain and discomfort, and shows them how to get rid of that pain so that they can enjoy the best sex they’ve ever had.

At some point in time, most of us will go on a healing journey - we experience some life, run into some pain and will find the need to stop and process it all.
That is an honourable and important journey! But at some point in the healing process, we need to shift our focus from ME to WE. At some point, we need to look not only at our own healing but at the healing of those we share this wonderful earth with.
Diving into that with me on today's episode is Amanda Thomas! Amanda has her own amazing healing journey that she shares and then we dive into what it looks like to serve in the healing of others!
Amanda is the founder of Power Through Healing, and is trained in hypnotherapy, Rapid Transformational Therapy, and NLP.

Sometimes it can feel like there are so many things that are out of our control - that we are simply a cog in the wheel that can't actually have any real impact or influence.
But who we are and how we show up matters - it matters not only in a personal way but in a global way. What we value will influence what the world values, and who we become influences what our culture becomes.
In today's discussion, we talk about everything from identity, to the stories we tell ourselves, to how we impact and are impacted by colonialism, advertising and patriarchy. Joining me for this conversation is the incredible Najite Phoenix!

All of us will experience trauma at some point in our lives - whether that fall under big-t trauma or small-ttrauma - it's inevitable. And yet how many of us take the time to pause and care for ourselves through our experiences?

Most of us would prefer not to think about dying. The uncertainty of it, the uncomfortability, it's almost too much.
In fact, we end up spending a lot of our time trying to deny the fact that someday we will die. We glorify youth, we obsess about antiaging, and we saturate our culture with sex (something that is life-creating).

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word Christian? For so many of us Christianity can bring up a slew of mixed emotions, old hurts, and even a bit of anger.
So we have to ask ourselves why is that our reaction to something that started out as a beautiful story of hope, love, and grace? What went wrong?
Having grown up in a Christian home and then left the traditional faith to find something that worked better for me the conversation around religions is endlessly fascinating!

Like so many of us, my family of origin gave me a religion to use as a guide for my life. And I was one of those people that took it extremely seriously. I wanted to be a good person in this world and I was promised that this way of being would ensure that I would be a good person.
And it worked for me
Until all of a sudden, it just didn't work anymore - and I was left floundering.
This led me down a path of tearing down everything I thought I believed and trying to figure out what to do with the mess I was making!

So much of what we struggle with as human beings is wrapped up in how we feel about ourselves - we tend to think of ourselves as fundamentally flawed in some way and then we treat ourselves with a lack of compassion, kindness and love.
Being trapped in a life like this can feel unbearable and yet it is the reality for so many!
But what happens if we decide enough is enough? What happens if we decide to rebel against the messages that tell us we need to be more than we are?

How would life be different?
Joining me for this conversation today is Jill McClennen -Jill is a Certified Death Doula who offers support, preparation, and soul-level healing to her clients as they prepare for their own death or the death of a loved one. Jill is also a trauma-sensitive yoga instructor, and she also uses reiki and shamanic healing techniques to help her clients heal their fears around death and dying as well as work with their grief.

How do you find your voice when you feel like you are invisible?
So many of us have that feeling like we don't know where we belong - but this can be especially true for the Transgender community.
In today's episode, I chat with advocacy coach and author Jack Ori about his transition journey and the ways that he supports and walks beside those that are trying to find their authentic self!
It was such a beautiful conversation that I am grateful to have been able to be part of!

We all have a story to tell - but sometimes it can be so difficult to share because it causes us to be vulnerable and to put ourselves at risk of the judgment and critique of others.
But if we can gather our courage and be open and honest with the world - we give the world an enormous gift!!
And it is the gift that Jessica Belle the host of UnMute Your Mic is giving to so many people!
Jessica is passionate about giving people the opportunity to speak up, to share their stories, and to normalize the human experience so that our stories can benefit the rest of humanity!

There is a reason why when you go to a therapist the first question that they ask is "Tell me about your childhood?"
It's in our childhoods that our identities are formed when our personalities are created and that sets the foundation for the rest of our lives - and no one understands this better than today's guest Rosemary Clark!
Rosemary is a Language of Listening Parenting ® Coach who specializes in working with moms who had difficult childhoods and whether you are a mom, going to become a mom or have a mom the wisdom she drops in this episode is for you!!
