We've learned that in Ephesians 1:15-23, Paul did not only pray for the Church but also showed the Church HOW to pray. In today's teaching, we take a step back to review what really inspired the Apostle Paul to make those prayers for the Church. Since Jesus is seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us, we also ventured to find out what kind of intercession Jesus may be making for us - the Church - today.
When Jesus said "I will build my church" what was the method he was going to use? Well, as his name is, so is he. If Jesus says he is going build his church, watch his Name; you will find his method, watch his Words; you will find his approach.
God wants his church to pray. God also wants to know and hear the request of his church. However, many often forget that he is also as much interested in WHY we are making that request known unto him. Paul prays for the church and thereby shows HOW the church should pray. The request he makes on behalf of the church gives us insights into some of the divine resources available to the church. These resources the church needs to deploy in order to BE the church she was built to be. As we move into Ephesians 1:15-23, all these among others come to light.
The Church Series continues. In today's episode, we explore the idea of the church from Ephesians 1:1-14. We discuss that the Church is THAT which is in Christ.
Today, we go back to examine the statement of Jesus: I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. What does it mean? What did Jesus have in mind when he said that? We shall discover that it was a Mission and Vision statement of the Lord Jesus; which has serious implications for the Church.
