The Omnigamers' Club: Recent Episodes

Daniel Wynter and Mark Yuasa

The Omnigamers' Club is a book club style podcast for those whose love of games eclipses the divide between analog and digital. Alternating between board games, video games and everything in between, each episode will take a deep dive into one specific game, our thoughts and the conversation around it.

With everyone excited to play Halo Infinite, we’re making a slipspace jump back to 343 Industries’ first release Halo 4, to see how it holds up. We also discuss Halo 5: Guardians and the broader Halo Universe, all while resisting the urge to recite Gregorian chant. The safety’s are off on spoilers across both games.

We’re celebrating both the end of the year and double digit episodes so taking a break from the single game format for something a little different. This episode we’re discussing our personal games of the year, not necessarily 2021 releases or even our favourites but games that meant something special to us in what continues to be a difficult time to cover a wide variety of games.

We travel back in time to a period of paranoia, and religious inquisitions. No, not the witch hunts but the rarely explored Carolingian Empire, circa 850 AD. Can a morality system work in a board game? Can we give up our life of crime and redeem ourselves? Or will we give in to suspicion of our fellow townsmeeple?

Join Mark and Daniel as they talk about the worker-placement board game Architects of the West Kingdom.

This week we’re travelling back to the board game table, shattering the limits of what tech tree progression can offer with Beyond the Sun.

This science-fiction worker-placement game takes your quintessential 4X tech tree and zeroes in with laser focus. But is there enough mass to pull its weight alone or does this tech tree wither without the traditional elements of its genre.

Join Mark and Daniel as they discuss the boundaries of space, technological advancement and beyond!

Welcome to the Omnigamers' Club, a book club style podcast for those whose love of games eclipses the divide between analog and digital. Alternating between board games, video games and everything in between, each episode will take a deep dive into one specific game, our thoughts and the conversation around it.

For our debut episode we’re excavating the board game 'The Lost Ruins of Arnak.' Does researching these temples reveal hidden depth or is in it an artefact best left in a museum?
