In this episode, we discuss all kinds of helpful information about Pelvic Floor Health for pregnant and new moms (and bonus: perimenoupause). We talk about how to prepare for childbirth and labor, what types of pelvic floor "issues" may need professional therapy or consultation, changes you may see in your body during perimenopause, normalizing and talking about pelvic floor health, and issues after birth to be aware of! We also talk about Dr. Aimee Bailey's background, and how she got into pelvic floor work!
Dr. Aimee Bailey's Bio:
I have been in the field for almost 20 years and not only have been treating patients but have created continuing education content for my peers. My passion is pelvic pain....but have treated all sorts of pelvic floor disorders including pregnancy and postpartum and have delivered 3 children with very different birth stories and postpartum recoveries.
My goal is just to get the word out on what pelvic health PTs can help with and when to seek one out. Education on the benefits of seeing a PT vs just winging it.
Also I do virtual pelvic health coaching for anyone who is not in the Nashville area.
I also host a podcast The Nashville Women's Health Podcast!
