There's Trauma in The Pews
The greatest lesson I learned while pastoring during this pandemic is trauma in the pews, and most pastors (including me) aren't prepared to deal with it.
Too many churches are focused on just getting folks back in the building and ignoring the trauma all have faced, to various degrees, during the pandemic.
Unless that changes, the church will be weaker and unable to fulfill its mission of creating disciples. The good news is that the people outside the walls face the same trauma and need what only the Christian church offers.
Meet Rev. Dr. Ebony Only
The Rev. Dr. Ebony D. Only serves as Executive Pastor at First Baptist Church of University Park in University Park, Illinois, and is the Inaugural Community Chaplain Fellow for Bishop Anderson House on Chicago's Near West Side.
Answering the call to assist in the practical development of pastors, para-church leaders, and members, Ebony founded Only One Consulting, an organization devoted to nurturing church and not-for-profit leaders to operate at their maximum capacity.
Rev. Dr. Ebony Only received her Doctorate of Ministry Degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Her dissertation titled: Self-Care – A Practical Intervention for the Solo Pastor is the basis for much of her ministry.

This accomplished ministry leader, purpose pioneer, author, mainstream coach, and marketplace master inspires thousands of people worldwide. Meshing the Marketplace, Ministry, and the Mainstream, Kervance burst onto the national scene over a decade ago with his initial bestselling book, How to Change the Mind of the Mediocre Man…Five Keys to Move From Good to Amazing. This book serves as an in-depth journey into the mind and actions of the "curse called average" in 21st-century men.
In January 2020, he was prophetically named the Pastor of Internet & Innovation at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Ga. This situated Kervance as a global leader in online church and futurism, spaces in which his enormous influence is only sure to grow. Honestly, I do not understand why most pastors and church leaders do not leverage technology for the Glory of God. Pastors, church leaders, and faithful church attendees who see social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tock, Twitter, and LinkedIn as evil miss an excellent opportunity to reach people far from God.
Are you sitting?
Here's something that'll blow your mind.
Christianity was, in an authentic sense, the first technologically driven religion.
Are you Intrigued? Angry? Frustrated?
Galilee, Bethlehem, and the rest of Palestine were part of a Roman world whose technological underpinnings had reached a level by Jesus' day that was not to be surpassed until the 19th Century.
Those roads that The Apostle Paul and his associates traveled to spread the faith were unprecedented engineering marvels.
Without the ingeniously constructed roads that led from the streets where Jesus had walked to the cities of Syria and Greece, Christianity might have remained another obscure Judean sect-like those that fill the pages in accounts by the Jewish historian Josephus.
The roads were technological marvels – the ORIGINAL information super-highway!
What's The Point?
If Jesus, His Disciples, or The Apostle Paul were here today, they'd all use Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tock, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media sites to reach people for God!

5 Questions to Ask When Making Decisions
- Is the decision you're about to make help you develop your future or expand your life's possibilities? If it's a yes, then no matter how terrible it seems, the decision is a yes.
- Will this decision restrict, inhibit, or silence you? If so, the answer is no. No matter how easy the decision is, no matter how safe that decision is. The answer is no.
- Will this decision expand or limit my voice?
- Will this decision open the door to new possibilities or build a wall that prevents progress?
- Does it raise my voice, or does it silence me?
Remember, there's always a short-term and a long-term impact of the decision.
When making a decision, it's essential to think about its short-term and long-term impacts. The short-term consequences are the things that happen immediately after the decision. The long-term effects are the things that happen down the road, sometimes many years after the decision is made.
It's essential to think about both of these impacts when deciding because they can be very different. The short-term effect might be exciting or seem like a good idea at the time, but the long-term implications might be very different. It's crucial to weigh all of the pros and cons of a decision before making it, so you can be sure that you're making the right choice.

Today's Guest - Bishop Thomas Arthur Clark, IV
Bishop Clark was born on August 9, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Bishop Dr. Thomas A. Clark, Jr. and Elder Patricia O. Clark. In 1985, he graduated from Mars Hill School in Chicago as valedictorian of his eighth-grade class.
Thomas then attended and graduated from Chicago's prestigious Albert G. Lane Technical High School. He accepted the call of God to preach the Gospel in August of 1988 while a member of Faith Deliverance Christian Center in Chicago under his father's pastorate.
Thomas is currently the proud pastor of World Deliverance Christian Center of Bellwood, IL. God led him and his father to organize in January of 2011, upon the merger of the churches they were respectively pastoring. In 2012, The Fellowship of Kingdom Builders became part of Faith Tabernacle Outreach Ministries (FTOM) under Bishop Dr. Herbert Bright of Plainfield, NJ.
In May of 2017, Thomas was appointed as First-Vice Presiding Bishop of FTOM. In 2019, Thomas was conferred and hooded with an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from St. Thomas Christian University of Jacksonville, FL. He is currently studying to obtain a Master's in Missional Church Movements from the esteemed Wheaton College of Wheaton, IL.

Today's Guest - Bishop Thomas Arthur Clark, IV

Born and raised in Chicago, Rev. Dr. Christopher E. Dodd is the son of Doshia and E.C. Dodd. After choosing to walk away from corporate America and follow God's calling, he attended Northern Theological Seminary to receive his Masters of Divinity Degree and later his Doctorate. In 2006, Dr. Dodd organized Christ Victory Assembly Church in Lansing, IL, and seven years later, he began his journey at New Community Church. He now sits on the boards of Converge MidAmerica, School District 215, and the Victory Association.
Pastor Chris has been happily married to his college sweetheart Schlonda Dodd for 22 years. Together, they have three beautiful daughters: Kennedi, Raygan, and Madison.

Leadership is more than just one person taking charge and telling everyone else what to do. Leadership is when someone stands up for themselves and stands up for others who cannot speak out against injustices that have been done to them.
To his older siblings, David was a nuisance. To his father, Jesse, he was simply the youngest son. He was just a shepherd kid to everyone else. But to God, David was the one destined to be king. And not just any king; he was from the bloodline that would produce Jesus.
Overlooked by everyone else. But God picked him.
Even how David was anointed as king is significant. God informs Samuel that He has discarded Saul as king and chosen one of Jesse's descendants to be the new ruler in 1 Samuel 16.
