Larry Sharpe - Libertarian Candidate For NYC Governor
The Libertarian Party is gaining ballot access in New York, and Larry Sharpe been busy campaigning across the state. Sharpe, a business consultant, wants to overhaul the education system and privatize the pension fund.
The libertarian candidate for NYC has a big challenge ahead of him. The LPNY state convention held in Albany is the first step toward inclusion on the ballot. Sharpe's campaign team is looking for volunteers to circulate petitions in all 62 counties in New York State. In addition, the Forward Party, a coalition of left, right, and Libertarian political parties, is pledging to support Sharpe.
If you're looking for an alternative to the Democratic Party and have been thinking about running for NYC Governor, you've come to the right place. Larry Sharpe is an entrepreneur, a veteran of the Marines, and a native New Yorker. He is a former vice-president of the Libertarian Party and is an active member of the Libertarian Party. In 2018, Sharpe ran as Libertarian candidate for NYC Governor, and garnered 95,033 votes, enough to win automatic ballot access for the next four years.
On Feb. 16, Larry Sharpe announced his candidacy for governor of New York. He has been endorsed by former Westchester County executive Rob Astorino, who will face Democratic Senator Letitia James for the position.
In a hypothetical gubernatorial race, Cuomo has a commanding lead with 23 percent of the vote. A recent Quinnipiac poll found that New Yorkers are happy with Cuomo's performance in the past two terms, but they'd like someone else to take his place. Those two candidates should run against Cuomo and be considered an alternative.
Unite NY, a group of New Yorkers, is circulating a petition to make New York's state election system more democratic and open. Unite NY is advocating for open primaries, a change in the structure of the state ethics commission, and allowing governors to serve two terms. In addition to Larry Sharpe, Unite NY is also supporting Green Party stalwart Howie Hawkins. They support candidates who believe in a more democratic society and more representative government.
As far as public transportation is concerned, the MTA is a major problem. The subway system is deteriorating, and money is tight. It is time for a change and someone who believes in a more independent approach to public transportation. With this in mind, Larry Sharpe Libertarian Candidate for NYC Governor is an excellent candidate to represent the libertarian side. If elected, Sharpe would be able to take on the Democratic Party's incumbents in a free and fair manner.

Federal government figures show that student loan tax relief benefits the poor the least. According to the Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances, borrowers in the bottom 40 percent of the income distribution earn less than $42,000 annually and save $5 per month on their monthly payments. In contrast, borrowers in the top 20 percent of the income distribution receive 46 percent of the benefits. However, student loan tax relief is regressive and dependent on the borrower's income, employer generosity, and tax bracket.
Students with high-interest loans
Historically, federal student loan interest rates have ranged from 3.4% to 7.90%, but have been steadily increasing since 2016. Some advocates of higher taxes on the rich argue that the current rates are unreasonably high. Opponents point out that the borrowers themselves agreed to pay the high interest rates, so taxing them will only hurt the economy. And it would be unfair to penalize the poor by punishing the rich, who benefit most from higher interest rates.
Students with COVID loans
Considering that the federal government required that half of the COVID-19 stimulus funding be allocated to students, this is a situation that is even worse. While these emergency financial aid grants were meant to help students weather the economic downturn, more students are now suffering from increased financial hardship and, as a result, higher borrowing rates. The COVID loans are taxed the poor - and students with COVID loans are disproportionately people of color.
It is not surprising that the Department of Education is intercepting the cash of struggling student loan borrowers. The amount of money spent on SSI and housing assistance programs since 2000 is comparable to the cumulative amount of forgiveness for COVID loans. This money is vital to the economy, as it provides cash assistance to 8 million people. In order to qualify, applicants must have less than $2,000 in assets, and nearly half of these people have no other source of income other than their federal student loan.
Students with 401(k) or pension plans
The Higher Education Loan Payment and Enhanced Retirement Act of 2010 (HELP) would allow students with 401(k) or pension plans to withdraw up to $5,250 per year from their retirement accounts tax-free, and to deduct the amount for education expenses of dependents. The measure also would phase out the current cap on the amount of student loan interest that can be deducted from modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) after a borrower reaches $57,000.
Those with 401(k) or pension plans are often at a disadvantage because their contributions to these accounts are not tax-deductible. Despite the benefits, however, students with 401(k) or pension plans often find it difficult to make a decision about how much money they should contribute to their retirement plans. In addition, students with 401(k) or pension plans aren't eligible to make contributions to these accounts while their student loan balances remain outstanding.

This drop in trust has nothing to do with President Trump's "war on fake news" campaign. Media organizations have faced a crisis in recent years, as their business model has changed. Instead of targeting specific demographic groups, they now target only the most loyal audiences. According to the Pew Research Center, 73 percent of Republicans and forty percent of Democrats said they don't trust the mainstream media.

Recent Quinnipiac University poll posed that same question to Americans: Would you stay and fight?
Polled Americans said they likely wouldn't die or fight to defend America, but whether or not they said they would, it's an important question to be asked. When asked in a recent national survey if they would be willing to defend America from external or internal enemies, half of the people surveyed said they would fight and die for the country while the other 50% said they'd run away!

For the first time since the issue was included in 2014, half of Americans support the use of US troops in the event of a Russian invasion of the rest of Ukraine (50% for, 48% against). While half of Americans are ready to send American troops to defend Ukraine from further Russian invasion, only a minority (41%) believes that the US should sell weapons and military equipment to Ukraine.
