'I'm 12. I've been forced out of school. This is my story on how the education system failed me and thousands of kids just like me. All I wanted was my headteacher to support me, instead, I was excluded 7 times' - That's my son and I'm so proud of his bravery to tell his truth, as he puts it 'the side of the story that no one hears'
My name is Veena V and we hope by sharing our journey, it can help change the school system.
We talk about; school exclusions, alternative provision, what makes a great headteacher, special schools, how SENCO's can support SEN children better, EHCP, homeschooling
Assistant headteacher of a special school in Dorset, Jules Daulby - we love her! Not only has she shown support for Bubs current situation of not being in education, but she also has some fantastic ways to deal with school exclusions. Bubs interviews Jules about what it is like at a special school, what is the difference between mainstream schools and special schools and her take on if excluding children really works.

Headteachers before you off-roll, permanently exclude or direct off-site education please listen to this. Your decisions have a significant impact on the child's confidence, understanding of authority, and many other detrimental effects. It also severely affects parents' psychology. mental health and ability to pay their bills. If any form of permanent school exclusion is necessary, PLEASE put in an appropriate plan to HELP SUPPORT the child AND their parents. Every child deserves an education. This is day 8 of me having no school or no support my with needs. Today is the first day of school for my friends and lots of children around the country but not for me. I was supposed to have a tutor today in the afternoon but she didn't show up. I was left in a building. The school failed me again. They should be providing me with an education but are not, I am still a pupil of the school but I don't feel like it.
My wish is that all the kids shall be happy and get support in school. I am looking for teachers and students who have been through a similar situation to contact my mum, I would like to interview you on this podcast 'The School Scandal'.

Whilst other children go back to school today, I don't. My secondary school said I can't come back but they haven't permanently excluded me. They are getting money for my EHCP which is the support I should be getting, but they are not helping me whilst I'm at home. I'm 12 years old and I do not have a full-time education. This is day 8 of being out of school, they did this to me at the end of Year 7, I could not say goodbye to my teachers or the teaching assistants that were nice to me and helped me. My headteacher and SENCO do not understand children that need help, it's very sad. Before this happened, I was excluded 7 times, my mum said it was unlawful because I didn't get support. I will talk about school exclusions in another episode.
