Join us as we review, rate, and rank all of the Disney movies and find out which is belongs at the top of the castle
This week Charlie and I return to the 100 Acre woods for another adventure with Winnie the Pooh in "Cristopher Robin" While we both have differing opinions on how entertaining this movie was we can both agree that it was made incredibly well. This time Christopher Robin might be the villain instead of Owl.
So the Olympics are finally here and we decided stay on brand and watch Cool Runnings. It might have messed up our release schedule a little bit but we feel it was worth it. This is such a fun feel good movie that doesn't get as much love as it should. A fantastic cast of characters, lots of comedy, lots of drama and just an all around good time.
This week we're finally wrapping up the Mighty Ducks trilogy with... shocker, D3 The Mighty Ducks. They still haven't figured out how to come up with new names. We're back in the preppy school showdown genre again. This movie definitely has a more comedic tone to it than the other 2 but still manages to keep the same duck spirit. While we do have differing opinions which leads to more debates and tangents as usual.
This week we're continuing our journey through The Mighty Ducks saga with D2 where the storyline is just as original is the title. While it's not a bad movie per say, there's just alot of things that don't make sense. They're able to keep some of the fun characters and add some new ones but still don't know how to showcase them. Although it doesn't live up to the first movie it's still a fun watch.
This week were jumping into another blast from the past with The Mighty Ducks. This was a staple in most of us "old" folks childhood. And it was great to see that it still holds up. With a great mix of comedy and drama filled with an great group of characters this is a quintessential 90s classic that lives on.
This week we take another trip back to the digital world known as the grid in Tron Legacy. This time we follow Kevin's son Sam Flynn in an audio/visual visual journey that stimulates all of our senses. Tron Legacy is one of the best put together movies we've seen in a while.
We've got a blast from the past this week as Charlie and I take a trip into the digital world of Tron. A groundbreaking introduction to the world of CGI. This is one of the few times we have vastly different opinions on a movie.
We're right back to season 3 after our brief interruption and this week we're revisiting a childhood classic in Flubber. You would think that anything that has Robin Williams is destined to be great but sadly that is not the case. With a plot that's all over the place, or not even there in some points, a questionable group of characters, and special effects that seem like they are trying too hard, this movie is proof that even the most talented of actors cannot save some things.
We're back for our first Season One episode in almost a year and a half and this week Charlie and I go to the city of Rosas in Wish, a tribute and celebration to Disney's 100 year anniversary. First the first time in a while Charlie and I have mixed opinions which leads to a few debates and we accidentally get sent off on quite a few tangents.
This week Charlie and I are back with more conspiracy theories and convoluted plans from Ben Gates in National Treasure Book of Secrets. This time Ben's plan is just as crazy if not more... Kidnap the president. With another great blend of comedy and action this is another rare case where a sequel manages to hold up to the original.
This week we're gonna steal the Declaration of Independence in National Treasure. A fun action movie that still holds up. This movie has a good mix of everything you could ask for. Action, adventure, romance, comedy, drama. It all meshes perfectly together to create a great film.
This week Charlie and I dig into a childhood favorite of both of us in Holes. With essentially 3 movies in one Holes packs a major punch and with a great mix of comedy and drama it still holds up as an essential classic.
This week Charlie and I go back to 1950 as we visit Disney's first full live action movie "Treasure Island". Based of the Novel this is also the story used for Treasure Planet, and while the story is mostly the same it's still fun and unique in it's own ways that still manage to make it enjoyable. With twists and turns at every corner you never know what to expect next.
This week Charlie and I investigate the murder of Toon Town owner Marvin Acme in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" Another fun live action/animation blend which takes us back to the roots of cartoons. This is the one and only time where Warner Brothers and Disney paired up to give us a once in an a lifetime masterpiece.
This week Charlie and I learn that Happily Ever After may not always be a real thing as we continue the story of Robert and Giselle in Disenchanted. A movie filled with more references, more tropes, and and even more villains this movie feels like a giant homage to Disney's past while adding it's own new twists.
This week Charlie and I discuss a brand new fairytale of the modern era when Princess Giselle is sent from the magical world of Andalasia to the rough streets of New York City in Enchanted. It's a fun tale that has everything we want, Romance, Comedy, Drama, a bit of action, all while paying tribute to the stories of Disney's past.
This week we Continue the Goofy Saga in An Extremely Goofy Movie. Max has graduated high school and now he's off to college. His excitement of finally being away from his father is short lived after Goofy shows up and says he's returning to school. It's another one of this typical college competition type movies but somehow manages to keep some of the charm.
We're back with one of the core Disney characters again this week in A Goofy Movie. Full of laughs, an incredible soundtrack, and some fun family bonding moments this movie is a blast from the past that still manages to deliver joy.
We're closing out out Lindsay Lohan Series with with yet another remake/reboot. They really liked having Lindsay retell their classics huh? This week we cover Herbie Fully Loaded. Which unfortunately is the weakest of the three. Sadly this movie just doesn't have much going on for it and there's just not alot to get in to. It's not bad, but also not good either.
We're back with week two of our Lindsay Lohan extravaganza and this week we're watching Freaky Friday, Another Disney original film which is remade with Lindsay Lohan. Although this story is a fun concept we still struggle with alot of issues in this one. This unfortunately does not hold up as well as The Parent Trap
This week Charlie and I head back to the 90s again for some serious nostalgic vibes in Lindsay Lohan's film debut The Parent Trap. This movie actually holds up really well and gives you everything you could ask for, comedy, drama, romance, a bit of action. With a fun original story and likeable characters it's no wonder this film is considered essential.
This week Charlie and I continue to follow the story of Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause 2. Although this is definitely disney's take on a Hallmark movie they still manage to have some fun with it.
We're back again after a bit of delay. Sorry Things have been a bit hectic lately and it's just hard to get an episode out. This Week Charlie and I take a visit to North Pole in The Santa Clause. A holiday classic that still holds up. Tim Allen Captures us with a wonderfully hilarious portrayal of the Jolly Saint Nick.
I know were getting a super late start to this but there was all kinds of issues and delays that prevented this episode from coming out on time, but this week Charlie and I take a look at 3 tales of Christmas in Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas. The whole gang is back (apparently for the first time together) And we learn alot about the true meaning of Christmas
This week we take another fantastic journey through the world of stop motion with James and the Giant Peach. We got tricked yet again into thinking this was another Tim Burton movie but yet again it's Henry Selleck. However we get a fun group of characters and some catchy songs to make up for that.
This week Charlie and I travel back in time with an homage to classic horror films in Frankenweenie. With more great stop motion and plenty of fun references this movie gives much more than a retro blast from the past.
This week Charlie and I visit one of the most essential of Essentials and take a trip to Halloween town in The Nightmare before Christmas. With an iconic soundtrack and a classic story and characters we know and love it's hard for us to not get swept away by the nostalgia.
This week Charlie and I get a behind the scenes look at how the Mary Poppins movie came to be in Saving Mr. Banks. This hidden gem of a movie showcases the two eccentric personalities of Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers and Walt Disney in their attempts to work together while offering great insight into the true story of Mary Poppins.
This week Charlie and I go back to the Banks family in Mary Poppins Returns, A sequel 54 years in the making!!!. And for a movie that took so long to get here it does not fail to deliver.
We're finally back for Season 3!!!! It's been a bit of a wait but we are finally here. This season we'll be covering all the essential hits that make you think of Disney. Starting off this week with Mary Poppins. A fantastic imaginative journey where although there is alot of stuff happening that has nothing to do with anything, it's still a lot of fun.
We're finally back with a new episode, and yep we're keeping it with season 2. Just as we were about to start recording for season 3 Disney Plus dropped Elemental, So this week Charlie and I head to Element City to meet Ember and Wade, A couple of elements who prove that sometimes elements do mix
We've finally made it through all the Pixar movies that we can get to so far and we're here to discuss the all of the best's and highlights!! We've got alot to talk about here as there were so many good things to come out of Pixar. Of course it wouldn't be an episode of this podcast without some friendly debating going on and there's plenty of that here. We still have so many more movies to get to and look forward to continuing this journey with you all.
This week Charlie and I travel out to the vast reaches of outerspace to learn the origins of Andy's favorite Space Ranger action figure in Lightyear. This movie has a good mix of everything, action, comedy, drama, and it does it all really well. This movie seems to get alot of flack and we can't understand why.
This week Charlie and I take a visit to our neighbors in the north of Canada in Turning Red. We tackle the troubles of being a teen, and going through changes. The movie has a lot of good messages in it but they make it really tough to get on board in the jumbled mess they give us.
This week Charlie and I head out to the shores of Italy to learn about Luca, a friendly sea monster who is curious about the land above. We were both slightly underwhelmed with this movie after the amount of hype it was getting. While it definitely is not a bad movie, it also leaves alot to be desired, Especially after coming off off Soul.
This week Charlie and I take a trip to the Great Before to find out how a person comes to life in Soul. An underrated movie that is an absolute masterpiece. We still don't understand how this movie gets so much hate. It has so many fun ideas and concepts and teaches so many great lessons.
This week Charlie and I go on an epic quest to learn about family, magic, and life in Onward. A movie that neither one of us were really looking forward to revisiting turned out to be one of the most shocking turnarounds in the history of this podcast. While this movie is still lacking some of the fantasy aspects we were looking for it still has alot of great things that really make this movie work.
We're back in the world of toys yet again and probably the only fourth movie in a series that we'll probably be covering for quite a while with Toy Story 4. As always when it comes to this franchise we're back to the age old question, What determines a toy? and for as many questions that we have we are still pretty impressed by this movie.
It's time for yet another sequel and this week Charlie and I get another glimpse into the lives of super heroes again in Incredibles 2. A movie that just feels somewhat underwhelming, especially for the fact that it was 14 years in the making. It's the longest movie we've covered so far and it definitely felt like it, We get so bogged down in some of the logistics of the story we barely even talk about anything else.
This week Charlie and I take a trip to The Land of the Dead and learn the truth about Miguel's family history in Coco. In a very Disney like production from Pixar we get quite a few hit songs here. Lots of discussion about how being dead works, and of course lots of friendly debates as always.
This week Charlie and I reunite with Lightning Mcqueen in Cars 3. There's alot of potential in this movie but it just kinda misses the mark a little bit. As usual we question the biology of Cars in this universe and debate other random things.
This week Charlie and I return under the sea to check back in with Nemo, Marlin, and Dory in Finding Dory. A sequel that turned out a bit better than either of were expecting but still wasn't really enough to blow us away. There's some convoluted hijinks, some dramatic moments, and some more comedy but just doesn't really hit the same mark as Finding Nemo
This week Charlie and I are potentially in a different universe where Dinosaurs and Humans are living together?? Where not really sure because they don't actually show very much as to that aspect of the movie. This week it is The Good Dinosuar, not to be confused with the bad dinosaur movie just known as Dinosaur, although in reality they could've just called this one The Mediocre Dinosaur.
This week Charlie and I travel into our minds and learn all about how emotions work in Inside Out. Possibly the most accurate Disney/Pixar movie to date. Alot of stuff in this movie really just makes alot of sense. And it's a movie about the human experience so finally something we can actually relate to as well. It wouldn't be an episode without us questioning or debating stuff and there's plenty of that too.
This week Charlie and I take a trip to college in Monsters University. This may be our most divisive movie yet in terms of our opinions on it. One of us isn't really a big fan and the other really likes it. Which obviously sparks debates for us as usual. Yet again we find ourselves confused by how monsters work and live.
This week Charlie and I head on over to Scotland to catch a glimpse into the life of Merida, our one and only Princess from Pixar in Brave. Besides the fact that we have a princess there are many other ways this movie has alot more of a Disney feel to it as compared to the other movies we've seen so far. Between some of the music choices, character development and even just storytelling in general this movie offers alot more than what we've come to expect from Pixar
It's time for yet another sequel and this time Charlie and I get another glimpse into the Cars universe in Cars 2. Although we both agree this movie doesn't belong in the canonical story of the universe. We spend lots of time complaining about things that don't make sense, discussing the many ways this movie could've been improved, but there were a couple of things we did enjoy so it wasn't a complete disaster.
This week Charlie and I head back into the world of toys again in Toy Story 3. We learn the horrible truth about toys at daycare, get carried away talking about Mr Tortillaheads antics, and discuss one of the greatest disney villians and one of the darkest scenes.
This week Charlie and I take a wild balloon ride that defies all the laws of physics with Up. Join us as we discuss one of the saddest movie openings in cinema history, discuss logistics of a flying house, and continue our constant trivial debates.

This week Charlie and I take a trip from a deserted Earth in the future and head into outer space with Wall-E. This is honestly pure cinematic bliss and it's no wonder this is the only Disney movie chosen for the Criterion Collection. We laugh, We cry, we're caught on the edge of our seats. It's a perfect blend of everything you could ask for in a film.

This week Charlie and I head town to the old town of Radiator Springs on Route 66 and see the tale of Lightning Mcqueen in Cars. As usual we have many questions about how the world works and what it's like to be a car. There's also multiple discussions of how this movie could've just not happened at all if simple steps were taken.

This week we're already at our first sequel. Pixar is dishing them out alot faster than Disney. This week Charlie and I have alot more questions about the world of toys in Toy Story 2. There might be alot of stuff we don't understand but at least we still have a great time watching this movie.

This week Charlie and I learn a bit about the world of Bugs in "A Bugs life" Where the Ant Colony would rather just give up and let themselves get killed instead of listening to the one person whos coming up with ideas on how to save them.

Welcome to Season 2!!!! We are now gonna make our way through all of the Pixar movies. Starting off this week Charlie and I explore the secret lives of Toy's and what happens when we leave the room in Toy Story. While we do find ourselves asking alot of questions as to how the universe of Toy's work this movie takes in a nostalgic trip back to our childhood and actually looks alot better than we were expecting.

Surprise!!! We're back with the last possible season 1 Episode for now. Strange World was released on Disney Plus alot sooner than we expected so this week Charlie and I are diving into this Strange World to meet the Clades, an adventuring family who aren't really adventurers. We have a really rough journey with the Clades and unfortunately it seems like some of the Disney magic went missing.

We've finally reached the last of the unseen movies of this season that have been released so far and we may have potentially been saving the best for last. This week Charlie and I learn the story of Kumandra and the nation that fell apart. We both waited to watch this movie for the podcast and while it did provide excellent benefits of going into this episode fresh we also wish we would've been watching this movie alot more. Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, this movie has everything and takes you on a wild ride.

Were back with another sequel. Charlie and I go back to Arrendale to deal with more problems caused by Elsa. This movie may be proof that sometimes a sequel isn't always necessary. Alright maybe its's not that bad and I'm exaggerating a bit but the sequels are supposed to improve upon the mistakes made in the first but this just took a bunch of steps backwards.

This week Charlie and I head to the place where we first met... The Internet. Ralph Breaks the Internet is one of the very few sequels we get to cover in this season and we're not mad about that. The story between this and the first movie is very similar but we get tons of new references and jokes.

This week Charlie and I take a trip to one of our favorite places... The arcade, as we journey into the word of Wreck-It Ralph. When you merge Disney and video games together you're bound to have a great time. Unless you're playing the Lion King, then you're in for a bad time. But luckily this movie is nothing like that. Packed to the brim with references, easter eggs, and jokes this movie definitely has potential to get the high score on our podcast.
