🔥 One of the hardest things to do as a leader is to drive sustainable change in any organisation. Because if it goes wrong, you're screwed up. It needs to be a mix of Top-Down and Bottom-Up approach to handle change.✨ According to Melanie Smith, any long-term positive change will require leadership and sponsorship from the top. But, you can't be sitting behind closed rooms and coming up with a strategy without consulting your staff. That's not going to work and it will fall off sooner rather than later. ❓ One of the biggest reasons why change doesn't stick in organisations is when organisations fail to answer this question: "What are the behaviours we have currently that we need to shift/ change?"It is not difficult to just put a new strategy, a new structure and new ways of working in place. What is harder is to address the transition of:👉 Where we are Vs Where we need to be👉 How do the new ways of working look like?👉 How do the new behaviours look like? 👉 Which parts of our culture do we need to shift and change intentionally? What do you think? How are you addressing change in your organisations?Listen to the complete episode with Melanie Smith, who joined us as the 125th speaker on the Podcast.#everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment
🤔 What sort of opportunities exist for individuals and organisations in the ever growing sustainability space? A lot of the opportunities in the sustainability space are being driven by smart consumers and investors who are actually looking at organisations taking proactive measures on sustainability. 🍀 What sort of steps are you taking to build sustainable practices in your organisation?🍀 How are you encouraging your employees and consumers to become more sustainable friendly?🍀 How are you measuring the carbon footprint?🍀 Smart consumers now want to know how much of their waste is getting recycled. They are looking for sustainability reports.🍀 Investors want to see actions you are/ will be taking over the next 2 years to enhance sustainable practices. So the question also comes in here as to how we can better prepare a future workforce so they are skilled enough to take those jobs in sustainability? My take:✅ Universities have already started picking up those key degrees on sustainability and students want to enter into this space as they are witnessing a tremendous opportunity for themselves here.✅ There is a huge demand for people to up-skill themselves in this space. The different communities run by Greenhouse, Greenfluence and NetNada in Australia are playing a big role to drive that. ✅ Since some of those job roles can be new and upcoming, I also feel that there needs to be some sort of knowledge awareness in the community so they feel empowered and confident of what sort of stuff they are expected to do in those jobs. We had a chance to dive deeper on this with Simon Lunn, a sustainability analyst based in Sydney. 🤝 We were recently joined by Debbie Ireland as the 123rd speaker on the Podcast to discuss about the different workplace practices driving high productivity. Not only did we talk about the top software tools, but we also talked about some other factors driving productivity at workplace: be it flexibility at work, a motivated leadership team and also the work environment.✅ Flexibility at work is one of the most important parameters that employees are looking at these days. If any workplace doesn't offer that, people often start looking at alternative options.✅ A motivated and engaged leadership team is an essential ingredient to happier and satisfied employees. ✅ Work Environment: Your work environment drives your productivity significantly. The concept of shared workspaces such as Work Club Global has gained momentum over the years as people want to work in an environment with other strongly driven individuals who are working on different projects. The concept is very similar to that of a gym. You get motivated by others in the gym.✅ Remote Work: Someone has got kids to look after. Someone feels that daily commute time will waste their time. Someone prefers to work from the beach because that's what drives their productivity. Any company who truly understand their employees well will prefer to give them these benefits and focus on getting better results. And all of this have been massively driven in the post-COVID world as companies and employees were able to test it out during that time. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment
🤔 What are the top benefits of having fractional experts and fractional marketers?✨ Cuts down on costs significantly.✨ Time to onboarding people is much faster. ✨ They can bring in expertise from different industries and domains. These fractional experts can add so much of value to startups and smaller companies. ➡️ As per David from Red Basket, COVID gave a boost to the idea of fractional experts when job market became more volatile and people weren't even sure about their jobs with a specific brand. That's the time when the idea of having fractional CMOs and fractional product experts came into existence.

We recently ended up recording a super-interesting Podcast episode with Amie Weizer from Zensai and discussing about Growth Mindset!! How often do we come across this word now? Quite often. But do we really understand what that really means? That's what Amie has tried to do during this episode. Don't forget to listen to the complete episode once its out. But here's a short snippet for you.Having a growth mindset means related to any of the following:🌱 Having a curious mindset🌱 Willing to ask questions and learn new things🌱 Driven through sheer passion and commitment towards anything you do🌱 Willing to come out of your comfort zone at all times🌱 Investing time and energy towards your personal growth and development🤔 Do you relate with any of those? Or how many of those are you following? We were joined by Amie Weizer as the 120th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #personaldevelopment
There has been an epic transformation - Human Resources ➡️ People & Culture ➡️ Human Success. So let’s define what Human Success actually is.🤝 We were recently joined by Robin Daniels (Chief Business Officer of Zensai) to define Human Success - a concept that makes humans around you more successful. Human Resources has transformed quite a bit: 👉 Human Resources: Admin, Payroll, Vacation tracking, Compliance training👉 People & Culture: Free snacks & food, social activities, office as a playground👉 Human Success: Personalised career pathways, continuous learning, coaching & mentoring💡 If the newest generations to the workforce including millennials and GenZ don’t see a purpose at their workplace and can’t see them learning something new, they would highly likely quit their jobs. It is about a complete different perception that you are motivated towards the success of people around you. 🤔 These are interesting stats which organisations should definitely feel alarmed about:✅ 2 out of 3 people want to quit their jobs due to lack of career and skills development (Forbes 2023)✅ Organisations with highly engaged employees see a 21% increase in profitability. Let's continue to discussion on Human Success. Let me know what you think. 🗣️ Had a great convo on the Pod recently with Alexander Horton from econome. It is always so exciting to talk about the different opportunities that we can explore in the climate space now.🍀 Having green skills is becoming so important and filling in the skill gap in the market is of utmost importance. As we prepare ourselves for a future ready economy for climate change, we all should figure out how we can contribute to that as a community and society.🤔 If we want to enter into renewable future where we feel ready, we need people in the market with those skills. Think about what kind of skills would align with where and how you want your career to move forward in, if you are in the climate space?🌎 Building a better Australia and a better world can't be done without taking concrete steps in the climate space. If our planet is not the same after 50 or 100 years, we are in definite danger. Action needs to driven from the community level. And that's why I always love covering the special series of episodes on "Climate Change & Sustainability" on the Ultimate Global Podcast.

💡 What an interesting transition from being a rugby coach to a sales leader!! Tune into this thought provoking discussion that we had with David Wilkins around his transition into sales and some other sales onboarding, training and management tips he shared with us.💙 As per David, the success of an SDR starts right at the interview process and flows all the way into the onboarding process.💙 Some of the skills that can definitely be tested would include stress management, critical thinking, ability to take feedback and self-reflection.💙 A lot of companies would end up creating a 30, 60 and 90 day onboarding plan for all the sales people. And that kind of sets clear targets for what they want their new SDRs to achieve during the induction process.💙 It's always great to give feedback to people that you have rejected in the onboarding process so that they can improve and apply it in other interviews. Sometimes, the companies interview and reject the people without giving them quality feedback.Companies are focusing a lot on recruiting and onboarding. There's little to no focus on up-skilling, emphasising on job satisfaction and developing personalised career pathways for people once they are onboard. And that's something which we are strongly working to achieve through LMS365.

🤔 How does maximising a company culture drives greater individual and team results?Barratt defines it as follows:✅ Working at a place where no one feels that they are coming to work. So focus on making a lively and stressless environment where everyone feels fulfilled and satisfied with what they are doing.✅ Coming to work at a place where they are coming to make money with their mates/ friends✅ A culture that allows every individual to develop their skills and learn new things.✅ A company that can allow to grow progressively in their careers where they can eventually think of having management/ partnership positions.✅ Mapping skills to different job roles and define a career pathway for everyone in the organisation.✅ Making it feel like an amazing experience for everyone on the team✅ People are having fun, making money and growing themselves every day🎧 We interviewed Barratt Kennett from EFCOMM Sales and Marketing Solutions Pty Ltd on the Ultimate Global Podcast. 💡 What are some of the strategies/ tips of building successful startups and scale-ups? ✅ As soon as you can get out of the theory and into the practicality of doing the real stuff, the better it is for you and your startup.✅ Focus on getting profitability asap which also provides you with some leverage to spend money on fancy websites, logos and designs.✅ Filling up your day with the right activities which actually lead to building your startup and getting some revenue.✅ The focus should be less on yourself and more on the customers. The more you do that, the better you become in terms of fitting yourself in the customer's shoes. There needs to be exchange of business value in return to what the customer is paying.Listen to this fun convo with Ben Lucas (the founder of Adroitly), who joined us as the 114th speaker on the Podcast.#everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #networking #personaldevelopment
🌀 Navigating yourself as an immigrant in Australia can be tough for several reasons. But there are different ways of handling that. 🏢 And one of the ways that I am a big fan of is networking. Striking up a conversation with strangers in a networking event can be hard but fruitful at the same time. 💚 Preparing yourself for an elevator pitch or small talk will definitely take you a long way and you will come out as a completely different personality in front of people.💚 Once you do it a couple of times, you get a hang of it and you start getting better in that process. 🗣️ People always underestimate the power of networking but I can assure you that networking can sometimes land you up with meeting some exceptional people. Some of them might be of help to you directly or indirectly. 💚 If you can learn the art of networking, it can be of tremendous help to you in so many different ways that you can't even think of. 🎧 Listen to one of the recent Podcast episodes that we covered with Shimark Ghaffoor, who joined us as the 113th speaker on the Podcast. 🤝 When George and I thought of organising our first ever in-person event around “Building a Better Australia”, it was focused on creating a forum where people can actually learn something new around: ✅ How can you ensure gender equality across industries?✅ How can Universities build budding entrepreneurs and future leaders who can think differently, and justify their rationale?✅ How can the society empower immigrants, refugees and international students?✅ How can all of us work together to build a clean environment by adopting sustainable practices and tracking our carbon emissions? When we discussed about Purpose few weeks ago with Jason Hardie and the Digital Village team, it was around identifying a reason behind your actions. The reason why we do what we do with the Ultimate Global Podcast is to give people voice around topics that they care to talk about. If you can’t find any platform, we are here for you. 😊🥳 An exceptional turnout for the event yesterday. 👉 What kind of steps we as a community can start taking to ensure gender equality in business & society? As a well-informed society of 2023, we should start asking questions:❌ If we don't see enough women on a leadership board.❌ If we come to know that there's a definite pay gap based on gender.❌ If a company doesn't showcase or practice gender diversity. A surprising fact shared by Sandra was that around 30% of men in Australia do not believe that gender inequality exists. A possible reason for that is that men are mostly not aware of the invisible barriers or challenges for women. Sandra also touched upon that during the face-2-face event last week. You need to get in touch with her FW (Future Women) team, if you haven't done yet. 🎧 Listen to the complete episode that George and I recently recorded with Sandra D'Souza (CEO & Founder of Ellect), who joined us as the 110th speaker on the Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #genderequality
🤔 Did COVID-19 play a major role in boosting digital initiatives in the Government sector?👉 Absolutely. This is something we also covered with Victor Dominello earlier this year where he talked about how the adoption rate of public using any digital services launched by the Government rose from 20% to almost 80%.🏛️ James Diekman from Accelerate Tech also works with a lot of Government sector organizations and shared the same notion of how everything boomed up during the COVID phase. 💡 What are some of the creative ways of exploring jobs and connecting with job recruiters in 2023? This episode is going to be extremely relevant for new job seekers, immigrants and hopefully international students as well.
☑️ Don’t just rely on online applications. Get our there and talk to people. That helps you to build a connection, understand what’s currently relevant in the market and whether you need to up-skill yourself.
☑️ Show some curiosity with recruiters and ask a few questions about the role & responsibilities.
☑️ Connect with potential recruiters/ hiring managers on LinkedIn and send them a personalised message introducing yourself.
☑️ Have a positive frame of mindset while looking out for jobs.
☑️ Pivot when things are not working. Try out different ways while exploring jobs. If one way doesn't work, keep on trying other ways.

👉 One of the reasons why we love doing what we do with the Ultimate Global Podcast is because we are able to empower and give voice to women like Maryam Popal Zahid. She has got a really inspirational story of how she came from Afghanistan to Australia around 20 years ago.
🔁 We generally don't have repeat guests but some always love to come back and we always love to help them out in whatever way we can.
🗣️ After our recent interactions with Hannah Browne and David Keegan from HOST International Ltd, we also came to know the key role organisations such as Host International can play in empowering such refugees and immigrants, who literally have to run away from their countries due to lack of security, homelessness and inequalities based on gender.

🎙️ How can employees be empowered to understand business emissions? They need be provided with the right tools and knowledge by the organisations. We discussed about this and a lot more with Afonso from NetNada recently.🤝 NetNada was built on the mission that companies, no matter their size, have a vital role to play in the future of our planet. By giving organizations like Dexus, Merivale, URM and M.J. Bale the tools to measure, report, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, we can change the trajectory of climate change.❗ Rightly pointed out by George, a lot of companies out there don't really understand Porter's 5 forces and the real impact of business emissions, unless it gets linked to their profits and financial statements. And that's why the real action begins when the key stakeholders of any organisation such as the shareholders, the employees, customers and the Govt all put emphasis on the environmental front.🎧 Listen to the complete episode with Afonso Firmo, who joined us as the 102nd speaker on the Podcast.#everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #climatechange

💡 A good leader and a good mentor can completely transform your life. They are both different but you can learn a lot from each one of them if you can really get a good leader/ mentor.
When Robin Daniels from LMS365 joined us recently, there was a lot to learn: ✅ Understand your “Why”: Focus on the story and clarity around the story ✅ Understand how you will achieve that “Why” ✅ Always have a mentor in your personal/ professional who can guide you, give you the right feedback and believe in your ability to do well, no matter what you are going through. A mentor will eventually help you to become a better version of yourself. ✅ Show up every single day and give your best in what you deliver. You should always have a positive attitude and “Can do” mindset. People are always attracted to that.

⏭️ There are a lot of stages that you often go through in a sales cycle before selling a product/ service to your potential customer.
💲 According to David, salespeople are getting more informed now than ever before. Those who eventually want to learn will do. The same applies for the customers as well because they can gather information on your product very easily. With well informed customers also comes detailed research.
🔄 The sales cycle can be wide in range, depending upon what time of the buying cycle the customer is coming in to purchasing your product. As a salesperson, you need to identify whether they have started exploring about that product or whether they have already explored a lot, depending upon what kind of research they have already done.
Some of the key stages in any sales cycle are: ➡ Initial Meeting/ Discovery Call: An important stage to gather as much information as you can in a conversational way. Look at how much informed they are about your product/ similar products. ➡ Setting a demonstration on the product with the right stakeholders: Bring the right stakeholders as early as possible in the sales cycle. ➡ Clarifying on legal and/or your SaaS agreement. ➡ Setting up follow-ups to move the deal in the right direction so that you can try closing it as soon as possible and cut down on the length of the sales cycle.
🎧 Listen to an insightful discussion with David Clelland from LMS365, who joined us as the 99th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
⏭️ With increasing cost of living and uncertainty around the environment, it’s now getting more important to take steps towards attaining financial freedom. But what steps can you start taking for that from today onwards?
🌿 Find your “Why”: If there is no reason of why and what you want to do, you will never take the right actions. You will lose motivation in a couple of weeks’ time.
🌿 Write down everything that you are likely to spend on. And you can look at the last 2-3 months’ of your credit cards and bank statements to give you a better idea on that.
🌿 Now map out “What Am I Spending Today” versus “What Will I Be Spending in the future to give you a better direction on building good saving habits.
🤔 One of the interesting points shared by Michael here was that we need to have “Handling Personal Finances” as a separate subject for all the students in schools currently so that they understand how to handle taxes, insurance and other finance stuff. It can be so useful for them after their school and college life.
🎧 Listen to an exciting discussion with Michael E.Pyle, who joined us as the 98th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
🌎 The future of global relations looks pretty complex and interesting at this stage. Other than countries playing their individual role towards building a better world, there is a big role to be played by bodies such as the United Nations, IMF, European Union, World Bank, BRICS, G20 and Quad in the near future.
🕤 It is thus important to go back in time and understand the importance of these bodies and why they were formed. What was the purpose behind forming these bodies? Take the United Nations as an example. It was formed after the World War 2 to ensure peace between countries while maintaining the new world order. What is it doing now on the Russia Ukraine war? Nothing.
🏢 These institutions have always been run by the rich Western countries. And rightly so, the countries have been demanding that these bodies such as the United Nations, the World Bank and the IMF are not representative of what they feel. Some important and emerging nations such as India, Brazil, South Africa and Germany have got very less say on what’s happening in these bodies.
👉 If these bodies are unrepresented and dominated primarily by the US, they will never reveal the true picture of the new world. Unless we start revamping these key institutions, there is going to be very little hope for humankind.
🎧 Listen to an insightful and an informed discussion with the former Indian diplomat, Amit Dasgupta, who joined us for the 2nd time on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
🌍 The reality is that we are definitely in a climate crisis. But the bigger question to ask here is: "Are we ready to upgrade to an alternative clean energy economy?" If not, what is needed to make us completely ready within a specific timeline? That's one of the most critical issues that we discussed recently on the Ultimate Global Podcast with ⚡️Oscar Omegna.
👉 With unprecedented bushfires and flood around the world, this is definitely not the time to politicise climate change and decide whether you are a part of "Team Fossil" or "Team Clean Energy". Rather it's the time to focus on taking the right steps towards an alternative infrastructure for clean energy without causing much of a disruption to the current generation.
There is a disconnect between achievable goals and what organisations/ Govts are promising. ❌ Lack of confidence on the progress or the implementation plan ❌ Lack of funding to create a transition to the new clean energy economy
VoltaRocks allows you to track your energy consumption habits: 🌿 Track your energy consumption 🌿 Find a cheaper plan by comparing with what energy companies are offering. 🌿 Qualify for rewards or grants based on your energy consumption
🎧 We were recently joined by ⚡️Oscar Omegna, CEO of VoltaRocks along with my co-host George to have an engaging discussion on environmental and reducing carbon footprint by 2030. Oscar is now the 97th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
🤝 We were recently joined by Sarah Raad to discuss on the experiences of being a business owner vis-a-vis an employee.
💼 When she started working for herself, she encountered the following results:
⬇️ Her income dropped all of a sudden. That's something which every entrepreneur might encounter initially.
⬆️ Working Hours increased: You will need to work tirelessly to get the results.
🌿 Started capitalising on different opportunities to grow the business forward
🌿 Achieved results because of a lot of support offered by her partner. This can be a critical factor for couples who want to start something of their own.
🌿 There is always a breakeven point that you need to achieve to keep your business up and running. And that's the time you will always need to be either self-motivated or someone motivating you to take you beyond that breakeven.
💕 We also discussed about the fact that you need to fall in love with your product and consider your business as your child. That's what we also discussed with Bjarne a few episodes before.
🎧 Listen to the complete episode with Sarah Raad, who joined us as the 96th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast along with my co-host George.
🤝 Last evening, I was joined by the former NSW Labor Party Opposition Leader Jodi McKay on our podcast. She is also the former Shadow Minister of Multiculturalism and currently the National Chair of Australia’s leading business chamber dedicated to promoting bilateral trade and investment between India and Australia.
🇮🇳 🇦🇺 We discussed about a need to further strengthening the relationship between India & Australia, especially after the Prime Ministers of the 2 countries have met each other recently. They have taken steps in the right direction. But its going to be that people-to-people interaction that eventually build a transformational relationship between the 2 countries.
🗣️ Jodi very rightly pointed out that there is a strong need of cultural appreciation, understanding and awareness; rather than just looking at the cultural differences. She suggested at some of the ways of overcoming these challenges: ✅ Find a trusted partner in India/ Australia who can help you get the local knowledge of that region ✅ Demystifying the other culture by understanding more about each other and building a relationship of trust.
🤔 This reminds me of my International Business classes at UNSW Sydney led by Josh Keller where we uncovered a lot about understanding the cultural differences while talking about global relations.
🙏 We also want to thank Amit Dasgupta, (our former speaker on the Podcast) who recommended us to Jodi and made this Podcast recording possible for us. We are absolutely grateful to him for the constant love he has shown towards the Podcast.

You will have to practise it every day and possibly learn something new from other entrepreneurs as well. But, you have to build your own framework of what works well with your idea.
🤔 Jonathan points at a major problem which he has witnessed with a lot of entrepreneurs. They need to be a spoon-fed a lot on different stages of their journey as an entrepreneur. A lot of entrepreneurs look for a proven methodology and try to replicate that, which is the biggest mistake to do.
💁♂️ Are you afraid of whether your idea will be good enough or not? Or are you afraid with what happens if you go wrong with executing your strategy? What if you end up losing money? Jonathan has got an answer for you: ✅ Start with what you know. ✅ Be prepared to look like an idiot. ✅ Lose money and get scammed. ✅ Get crushed by your competitors and experience that failure. ✅ That's how you will overcome the fear of failure.
❓ The real test of you as an entrepreneur is how you react to a situation when things start going wrong.

👉 "It's high time for organisations to focus on being both For Profit & For Purpose", says Brianna MacDonald. Is this the best opportunity for Tech Startups to focus on doing good along with just earning profits and possibly look at the Corporate Social Responsibility/ ESG portfolios and responsibilities?
🤔 It's not something which organisations have still been doing with full transparency. Focusing on sustainability should not be a choice to exercise. Instead, it should become a moral responsibility for people sitting in the top leadership positions to focus on.
🗣️ We also discussed about the importance of empathy and a human centric approach while handling customers. No matter how much technology tries to replace the human skill, there is always going to be a need of a human element while interacting with the customer to keep it real. That's why there is a difference between Artificial Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence.
💁♂️ Brianna also stressed upon the importance of networking with like-minded individuals where you can try to do good and grow your startups together with others who might be in a similar situation to what you currently are in and who might be facing similar sort of challenges as you.
💯 Some of the best networking groups for startups in Australia I can think of on the top of my mind include Startmate led by Michael Batko, Fishburners community led by Martin Karafilis, Greenfluence led by Visakhan and also the excellent community created by Sachin & Adam Show led by Sachin Shah and Adam Miller. 🤝 We were recently joined by Margaret Wright from UniSuper. She has had experience across a diverse range of industries including organisations such as KPMG, Macquarie Bank and UniSuper.
👉 The discussion revolved around several aspects of her career and then linking it back to how the business leaders and citizens can contribute towards making a better Australia.
🇦🇺 When we talk about building a better Australia, we look into the 3 key stakeholders of that: Government, Universities and industry. It becomes important for every citizen to kind of take the right steps towards building a better country and a better globe.
Margaret discussed about the 3 lessons that she learnt and would love to share with other business leaders out there: 🌿 Connect with different people, understand and value their perspectives 🌿 Looking at risks differently: What can go wrong in any situation? How many people is that impacting? 🌿 Having this ability to ask more questions and developing a notion of mutual trust towards other people

🤔 What do angel investors look for in startups? If you are a new CEO/ founder, thinking of launching your idea and raising capital, this episode can be a good listen for you. 👉 To test whether your startup would be successful or not, it is not only about a strong idea but it is also about other factors such as:✅ Timing: Is it too early or too late to market your product?✅ People: How strong is your team? Do they have the relevant skills to build that idea to the next level?✅ Ability to ask difficult questions: Success to startups comes by bringing truth to life when you ask people some tough questions. That will ultimately help you to course correct and get back on track in case you are doing something wrong. 💡Alan was previously a tech journalist, then switched to the tech startup space and finally into the angel investing domain. He has got some interesting set of experiences that can be a good learning experience for you. 😃 This episode is one of the fascinating ones that we have done recently at the Ultimate Global Podcast with a founder who was initially a dentist and later decided to launch his own tech company, previously known as Elearningforce International and now called LMS365. It was a complete 180 degree turn for Bjarne when he decided to do that. Some of the lessons that Bjarne shared during this episode for other founders were:✅ Every new organisation begins a with a lot of hard work, dedication and endless number of sacrifices. So be ready and never be afraid of that. ✅ Stay focused and consistent with the efforts towards your idea.✅ Have a strong self-belief and passion towards your product. ✅ Consider your product as your baby. As Bjarne also pointed out during the episode, having that attachment with your product will always keep the passion alive to make it bigger and better every day. 🎧 Listen to the complete episode with Bjarne Mortensen who joined us from Denmark as the 90th speaker on the Podcast. ℹ️ What are some of the dos/ don'ts with fundraising for startups and small companies?👋 Recently, we were joined by Mike Dias who is the CEO of the ScaleUp Valley. He shared his experiences of helping several founders and CEOs of what really is required to navigate through that the tough phase of raising funds for your company. Typically the 2️⃣ problems listed down by Mike regarding fund-raising are:❓ Not having the right timing: Ask yourself if this is the right time to talk to an investor and that is very well aligned with the 2nd point below. ❓ Not having the right metrics/ narrative in place: If you have a clear narrative of how are you going to grow and have got a bold vision/ metrics to support your narrative, then all investors would love to book in a meeting with you. 👉 Hence there needs to be a thought process by the CEOs and founders to focus on generating an inbound interest from investors. There should be a fear of missing out in investing in your company. You will then become a rockstar for them and they will do whatever is required to talk to you through any introduction or referral. ✅ Start building a good relationship with your potential investors and make sure they are aligned with your vision. 🎧 Listen to the complete episode with Mike Dias, who joined us as the 89th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast. #learnwithsaurabh #everystorymatters #startups #venturecapitalpodcast
🏏 ⚽ 🎾 Sports can teach you a hell lot of things that can also be applied in other professions. We were joined by Baxter Holt this week to share what he learnt while playing cricket. Baxter plays cricket for Cricket NSW and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. 💡 Work Ethic: You need to have the right work ethic and put in a lot of hard work to get the right results. 💡 Patience & Resilience: You will always have highs and lows in your career. And you will also face failure at some stage of your career. That's the time when patience and resilience can play a key role in navigating through that phase of life. 💡 Having a self-belief in your abilities and skills to achieve what you want to achieve.💡 Setting up short-term goals and long-term goals: It's a great way to keep track of what you want to achieve in your profession in 1-year's time/ 5-year's time. 💡 Fail fast and learn quickly: Don't attach yourself to the outcome. Keep on putting efforts in the right direction. ❤️ My love for Ryde has grown even more now, first after interviewing Victor Dominello and now his successor Jordan Lane. 2️⃣ great individuals: one has already proven himself as a Minister of Customer Service & Digital Govt, and other on the verge of making a historical first tenure in the Parliament of New South Wales. 😃 It's so refreshing to see millenials like Jordan Lane enter into politics and bringing in their fresh ideas to the table. This episode can be an inspiration for many youngsters to kind of start thinking of politics as an alternative career to create a meaningful impact in the lives of other people. 👉 Politics is often seen as a dirty game played by some grey-haired people. It's time for us to change that narrative now and bring in more diversity. There needs to be a good mix of experienced people and youngsters moving the countries in the right direction with the right intention. We have got some excellent examples in the form of Sanna Marin from Finland and Jacinda Ardern from New Zealand.✨ In this episode, we not only talked about why and how Jordan decided to transition from industry to politics at a young age but also discussed on what he thinks on the future of Australia as well as the challenges this wonderful country faces. 🎧 Listen to the complete episode with Jordan Lane (Member for Ryde), who joined us as the 87th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast. #australia #newsouthwales #nsw #sydney #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh
🇮🇳 🇦🇺 Is this the best time for India-Australia relationship to strengthen even further from here onwards?🤝 We also need to change the vocabulary of this bilateral relationship and possibly think of changing it from the 3 C’s (Cricket, Curry & the Commonwealth) to the 3 E’s (Economy, Energy & Education). 🏏 Cricket still plays a major role in acting as a tool for diplomacy and friendship between the 2 countries. That’s why the theme of the meeting between the 2 Prime Ministers recently was also kept as “Friendship Through Cricket”.✨ According to Amit ji, soft power alone doesn’t form the basis of any relationship. And that’s where Governments play a major part in building those critical partnerships on defence & security, Economic Cooperation & Trade Agreement, and education. The relationship needs to be multi-faceted and not just rely on those 3 words. 🎧 Listen to the complete episode with Amit Dasgupta (Former Indian Diplomat), who joined us as the 86th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #india #australia #anthonyalbanese #narendramodi
🏡 Hybrid work has now become the new normal where employees are preferring flexible ways of working. Workplace attitudes have changed a lot after the COVID-19 pandemic in the way they recruit people and want their employees to work.
🤝 We were recently joined by Joseph Essey, where we uncovered a lot about the challenges faced by small businesses and people on how they can effectively handle their financials in challenging times.
📈 There has been a rising spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the young generation. And that’s why creativity and innovation is being valued more at workplaces.
🚀 One of the things that the established businesses can also think of doing is to offer with certain shares on profit or stock options to the right employees. This is very similar to what the startups are doing these days and can be a great strategy to retain your best employees.

👉 One of the defining characteristics of a courageous business leader is having self-belief in yourself and your idea. Showcasing courage by overcoming different fears can play a pivotal role to succeed in whatever you want to achieve. No matter how good we are at doing certain things, it always takes courage to do that. Are there any specific traits of a courageous leader?🙌 We can only achieve success if we successfully overcome fear and start taking some courageous decisions in life. 💫 It always takes courage to come out of your comfort zone. You will only be growing yourself when you start doing things which make you feel more uncomfortable. Even the risk aversive people can be the most courageous leader because they are the ones who have already thought about all possible steps that could go wrong and then taken the right actions. 👂Listen to the complete episode with Rebecca Raad, who joined us as the 84th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast. #everystorymatters #learnwithsaurabh #ultimateglobalpodcast #growthmindset #learningeveryday #startups
💯 What a wonderful statement by Startmate: “We believe in people before they believe in themselves. And they we believe in them forever.” ⬆There has been a significant boom in startups across Australia and New Zealand. And Michael and his team at Startmate have definitely played a major role in helping and grooming a lot of those startup founders. 🤝 Startmate is helping anyone and everyone to get into the startup space. They have got different programs such as Women Fellowship, Student Fellowship. They also help people level up their own craft by providing Product Fellowship, Customer Success Fellowship and much more. 💁 Startmate was started back in 2010 with a belief to help new founders to develop their ideas further. 25 founders invested 10,000 $ each into a fund towards that purpose. That’s how they started to invest in the first 5 companies at Startmate.👉 Michael’s personal journey at Startmate started 5 years ago when the company just had 2 people. 💡 Another exciting story of a new founder and there’s always something new to learn from each of those stories on the Ultimate Global Podcast. 🤝 In this episode, we were joined by Ryan Nindra who is the Founder of Starlite. Starlite was envisioned with one goal in mind - to help individuals gain the soft-skills required to create a meaningful change in our world. 💬 Ryan shared some of the challenges that early-stage founders face quite frequently:① Staying Consistent: Sticking to your goals, putting in continuous efforts and feeling confident about your idea, and not getting distracted from external factors. ② Tackling Competition: How well can you differentiate your idea from what others are already offering in the market? What’s the USP of your product/ service?③ Getting comfortable being uncomfortable: You might have to learn new things all the time in making your idea successful. Ryan had to gain new things on the legal side of setting up his business, which was definitely not a strong point of Ryan.👂Listen to the complete episode with Ryan, who joined us as then 82nd speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast. #learnwithsaurabh #everystorymatters #personalgrowth #growthmindset #australia #startups
🤔 What’s more valuable: Career or CV? This can be different for different people, depending upon what stage of the career you are at and the industry you are working at. Some of the things that we learnt here from the conversation with Wolfgang are: ✅ CVs are definitely critical in judging the fundamentals of any individual. ✅ Don’t be afraid even if you have gaps in your career, unless you have a valid reason to justify those gaps. ✅ If you are doing something in your free time as a hobby, think of how you can create a story out of it and possibly link it with the job you are applying for.✅ Your first impression can be your last impression. And that’s why your etiquettes and way of communicating with your interviewers during a job interview (be it virtual or face-2-face) can matter a lot.🎧 Listen to an interesting conversation we had with Wolfgang Hampbell from Evidence Scientific, who joined us as the 81st speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast. #ultimateglobalpodcast #learnwithsaurabh #everystorymatters #careerdevelopment #australia #personalgrowth
🤔 Have you thought of going beyond Agile? Or are you still stuck in figuring out what's Agile? If yes, this episode is a must listen for you. We were recently joined by the co-authors of the book "Beyond Agile" on the Ultimate Global Podcast: Paul Scott and Andrew Walker.
📚 This book is the story of a company called 3 wks, but it is also the story of a few people who are trying to effect change in the way we create products, without reinventing the wheel.
3 wks methodology consists of the following:
✅ Define our “contract” or “charter” in terms of business outcomes or benefits, not functional scope
✅ Implement the solution gradually, right from the beginning of the project
✅ Work with users to understand their needs, not the “businesses”.

👩 On this Women’s Day, let’s spread this beautiful message to all the women out there to feel confident about themselves. Your gender, size or anything else shouldn’t let you down by any chance.
And as Sharon pointed out in this episode, we need to empower women and make them feel OKAY about who they are.
Be it Angela Merkel or Jacinda Ardern, women around the globe have show their leadership qualities while leading businesses and countries.

Are you taking a step further towards becoming a conscious leader? What are the traits of a conscious leader?
Tom Griffin feels that conscious leadership is as much about leading your own life as it is about being a point of inspiration that leads others. It’s also about having a perspective that doesn’t get lost in the specifics of the content.
Conscious leadership is also encouraging you to look into the broader context, putting things into the right size & shape, and making you more consciously aware of being aware.
If we look at any of the shining young entrepreneurs, they don’t have any special genes or any unique ingredients in themselves. They just know what resources they have in hand and how to optimally utilise those resources.

🤝🏼 I am always impressed by how the entire team of UNSW Founders keeps on nurturing and guiding such wonderful individuals and ideas.
🚀 Ismat’s journey from being in research to becoming the co-founder of Synbiote is absolutely inspirational. It was also a great learning curve for him to understand the business side of things and understand the challenges while commercialising your idea.
🧑🔬 While he was doing his research at the University level, he could still try out all parameters and permutations of his potential idea. On the other hand, there was very less time for him to try out once you his in the startup community. Otherwise, one of your competitors will grab the same idea before you.
📜 He was exposed to new things after his research, which made him learn about financial statements and business laws. And that’s what I would describe as a great way for him to move out of his comfort zone.

🏡 Leading remote teams effectively was one of the biggest challenges for companies during the COVID-19 pandemic. But this was also a great opportunity for them to test out a new remote model of working in a team.
Some of the challenges included:
① How to set accountability for team members while working remotely
② No face-2-face interactions with team members, which I always find as a great way to build strong social connections
💬 Timm shared some of the ways he led remote teams effectively:
➊ Having constant communication with the team members and understanding if they need any help on a daily basis.
➋ Meetup at least once or twice in a quarter for a face-2-face gathering so that team members can get to know about each other.
➌ Using a CRM as an effective tool to track the sales’ team progress
➍ Having other social communication tools in place such as Zoom or Teams

😄 This has been one of the most interesting Podcast recordings that we have ever had with the New South Wales Minister of Customer Service and Minister of Digital Govt, Hon Victor Dominello MP. He is definitely a breath of fresh air to politics and it’s indeed sad to see him leaving politics in March this year.
🤝 Both George and I were absolutely honoured to have him on the Ultimate Global Podcast, which can very well be his last interview before he retires.

Ⓑ Challenges in rolling out major initiatives such as Service NSW App, Dine & Discover vouchers, Digital Driver’s license and now the Digital Birth Certificate coming this year.

ℹ️ What are some of the leadership traits one can learn from Jacinda Ardern’s leadership style?
✅ She challenged the traditional stereotypes of leadership solely driven by strength and masculinity. She showed how leadership can also be effectively driven by empathy and compassion.
✅ When the time comes, a leader shouldn’t refrain from taking tough decisions which is for the betterment of the country.
✅ Jacinda Ardern inspired an entire generation of young women that they can also occupy leadership positions and deliver a significant impact through their roles.
✅ She did prove that you can still have ethics and honesty at a leadership position.
✅ And as Jacinda also said: “She will be remembered for taking the right side on most of the occasions.” That’s the kind of legacy she has left behind which inspires everyone around her.
🧠 Having a positive and optimistic mindset absolutely matters in sales.
⚡ And that should be also combined with bringing in more energy and enthusiasm to your day-2-day activities: be it cold calling, talking to prospects or following up with them on LinkedIn.
🤔 Keenan talked about finding your “Why” while doing sales. Ask yourself these questions:
✓ What really drives you towards achieving your sales objectives?
✓ How passionate are you towards your sales role?
👉 One of the interesting things that he discussed about was related to not bringing mundane things happening outside work to your sales role. That directly affects how you talk to the prospective customers.

🤩 Meeting 100 strangers for 100 different lunches can be a completely crazy idea but can be definitely worth trying out, especially if you like meeting new people.
🤝 Kaley Chu has already done that and she has also inspired Nick Bendel to do so. He is also on a mission to organise 500 lunches with 500 strangers, out of which he has already met 300 of them.
✈️ Kaley came to Australia as an immigrant few years ago. Unlike others who would love to stay in their own communities, Kaley considered this as a great opportunity to meet new people from different nationalities and become friends with them.
😶 She wasn't comfortable at all in doing that. But she took it as a challenge and came out of her comfort zone. And now Kaley is a confident woman having a large network in Australia. She has also organised a couple of events in Melbourne and Sydney to build a strong brand for her 100 lunches.
🃏I met her in one of those events in Sydney around a month ago, where I also got a card game from her on "Deep Conversations with Strangers". We ended up playing this game when our LMS365 ANZ team recently met face-2-face for the first team to better know about each other beyond our work life.

💼 What really defines a successful business strategy?
🤝 We were recently joined by Lars Vestergaard (CCO, LMS365) as the 68th speaker at the Ultimate Global Podcast. He broke it down into 3 components:
🅐 Long-Term: A successful business strategy must be aligned with the long term vision and goals of the company.
🅑 Customer-Centric: Take the customer feedback from time-to-time. Listen to and clearly understand what the customers are expecting out of your product and company.
🅒 Having a passion for innovation: Be creative with your strategy and come up with a unique application of your product that no one has even thought of.
➡ At the end of the day, it’s all about putting these elements together and executing it to perfection.
Along with gaining profits, it’s also important for businesses to deliver purpose and impact in the lives of people through their initiatives.

Creativity and curiosity is definitely driving innovation at workplaces.
One needs to be creative enough to catch the attention of their customers. And this is even more important in sales and marketing. People are always curious listening to something different at all times.
What can the employers do make enhance the critical thinking and problem solving skills of their employees? Listen to what Simon Banks has to say on that. He joined us recently as the 63rd speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
You need to ask yourself how confident you are with your creativity
As an employer, you need to set an environment where your employees can share your ideas. Employees will stay longer and feel satisfied when they are heard. - Employers should be open to getting challenged and must be open towards diversity of different thoughts and ideas.
Employers need the employees to bring their real self to work on a daily basis.

He joined us recently as the 62nd speaker at the Ultimate Global Podcast, where we discussed about Aerologix and his journey as a CEO.
❓If you are a startup founder, get ready to fail.
❓Working closely with your potential customers is important and get real-time feedback to check if your product is going to be commercially viable and whether they will pay for the product or not.
❓Raising capital in Australia can be difficult. So, get ready for that as well. Tom and his co-founder started raising capital from the Silicon Valley in the US.
Taking tangible action towards implementing sustainable environmental practices is now becoming a part of those critical board member room discussions as well.
Vis and I had an insightful discussion on that. Listen to a snippet from the episode that we recorded recently. He joined us as the 61st speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
We discussed about a couple of interesting things in this episode:
The role of youngsters, entrepreneurs and industry experts towards building and encouraging sustainable practices
Greenfluence: A podcast and community empowering you to create a positive impact through education on sustainability
Role of governments and political leaders in taking some decisive measures towards addressing climate change
Building a strong personal brand is becoming important for everyone.
A strong personal brand comes with a high degree of trust and credibility that one has upon you. It will also depend on how you lead your life, what kind of stuff you like and what kind of content you love posting about.
You should try becoming an expert in a particular field and keep on posting or talking about that continuously. Once you do that consistently, you will be on the top of the people's mind whenever they think about a specific problem or issue. They will want to chat with you as you have gained expertise in a certain field and your personal brand reflects that to them.

Customers will go through different stages before they decide to purchase your product or service.
Mapping out that customer journey can be extremely critical in determining how well we can enhance the customer communication and influence those leads/ prospects in different ways, depending upon the stage of the buying cycle they are currently at.
Once that customer journey is correctly mapped out, marketing and sales teams can invest their time and budget in the right direction accordingly.
Listen to Ryan Paul Gibson (Founder of Content Lift), who joined us as the 59th speaker at the Ultimate Global Podcast.
Marketing for early-stage startups is mostly pretty complex and unstructured. You need to test out different methods to identify the best one for your product or service.
And the marketing team will generally be going through several stages of re-strategising, as described by Jacob in this particular episode. Jacob first started marketing PicUp with family and friends. PicUp then went on to hiring a Business Development Representative without any marketing & sales qualified leads. Then they realised it over a period of time to first strengthen up their marketing strategies before trying to sell their product.
As an early stage startup, you will have to optimally utilise your resources in hand to get the best result for your business. It is quite common for 1 person to wear multiple hats while working at a startup, which also provides you with an opportunity to learn multiple things at once.
Listen to the complete episode with the founder of PicUp, Jacob Olsen who was also the 58th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
The b kinder Foundation has got such an inspirational and heart-touching story, founded by Danny Mayson - Kinder who lost her beautiful daughter in a tragic horse accident.
Danny joined us in first of our special series of episodes on Charities & Not-4-Profits. For George and me, Ultimate Global Podcast is not just a podcast. It is also a way of giving back to the society through the impactful discussions that we can spread across our network globally.
The b kinder Foundation is trying to empower children to make a difference through human kindness.
We also discussed about how important it is becoming for us to take care of our mental health in these critical times. It is not something which everyone feels comfortable on talking about but it is something which we shouldn’t run away from, as our mental health and well-being directly impacts our day-2-day life.
Step up and Step out for a kinder world!!
Danny joined us as the 57th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
In this episode, we were joined by a very special guest from Sydney as the 56th speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast: Arnab Maity (Founder of Buyerby). Bueryby is helping everyday Australians find their dream home or generate passive income using property investment, backed by tech.
What’s the most important trait that successful real estate investors might possess? Undoubtedly, its saving as much as you can which will allow you to start your investment sooner rather than later.
Due to rising prices and inflation, this hasn’t been a great year for first home buyers.
Arnab described a popular trend among young Australians called “rent-vesting”. For example: They are renting out in Brisbane CBD but they are buying a property in Adelaide. So, they are waiting for their dream home to come in 5 years rather than jumping in now.
Listen to this exciting conversation with our 55th speaker at the Ultimate Global Podcast, Jane Oja. Jane is currently the Director of Growth at Fishburners. Their community, events and tools support teams in the early stages of building a successful tech startup.
In this episode, we discussed about how the startup landscape has evolved in Australia in the last couple of years. Since Jane interacts with a lot of CEOs and Founders on a daily basis, there couldn't have been a better person to talk on this topic.
We discussed about several things such as work flexibility, understanding what's more important for them (idea/ team/ strategy), and how simple ideas are able to capture the attention of investors during the pitch nights.
Today marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who was an inspiration for mankind globally. And we look back at a very special episode that we organised in collaboration with UNSW Sydney last year on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti last year.
We discussed on the topic of "Relevance of Gandhian Values in the 21st Century". Some of his values are more important and relevant to be inculcated now more than ever before.

👉 He joined us as the 53rd speaker at this Podcast for a special series of episodes for CEOs, Founders and Co-Founders.
Some of the key lessons shared by him:
✅ Everyone is not the best at everything. So do what you are good at and continue doing that for a long period of time.
✅ Always rely and believe in a team of highly motivated and passionate individuals to deliver on the results.
✅ Push beyond your limits and try to deliver more than what is expected out of you.
✅ Accept criticism in a positive way. You will only get better after any constructive feedback from your team.
✅ Give more freedom and flexibility to your team members in how they want to do things.
✅ Help people in your company to grow and become better in what they do
ℹ️ How can B2B companies generate quality leads through website and SEO? We were recently joined by Sam Dunning (Co-Owner @ Web Choice) as our 52nd speaker on the Ultimate Global Podcast.
💡 Sam emphasised on the importance of having thorough customer research as the first step to clearly understand what your ideal customer persona looks like and what kind of activities they are engaging in.
💁 One should always research about your ideal customers through LinkedIn, Google Search, review sites and by directly interacting with them. Your customers might be posting certain things on LinkedIn or listening to podcasts or sharing some content.
So you can ideally look at the following:
✅ Understand where your target customers are hanging out
✅ Look at the channels where people are going to search for your product or service.
✅ Invest your marketing budget in the top 2 performing channels that can help you engage with those warm prospects

We were joined by Dovydas Radavicius (BDR at Linkedist), who provided some key insights on how LinkedIn cannot be treated as any other platform. It has got its own significance in today's era.
He also stressed upon the importance of creating high quality content on LinkedIn. It can be something related to your job, your hobbies or anything that interests you a lot. Listen to this interesting discussion that we had on "Building Atomic Habits in Daily Life" with Shayan Yar (Head of Investment at National Incubation Centre) and George Mavros (Co-Host of Ultimate Global Podcast). The topic of this Podcast is in fact inspired by the book called "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. We would recommend everyone to give this episode a listen where we have tried to summarise this book for you in our own words and put forward our analysis on it.
The atomic habits are built over a period of time. You will always take some time and consistency to build good habits. And so it's quite important to stay patient and keep on doing certain things on a daily basis to get to where you want to be.
As a new founder of a startup, its always a challenge to raise funds from the right investors who are aligned with your company's vision and mission. What do investors exactly look for in startups?
Listen to the complete discussion with Max Marchione (Founder of Ultraviolet Ventures).
Tune into an interesting discussion that we had with George and Faizan on the differences between the developed and the developing countries. The recent COVID-19 pandemic broke down even the best healthcare systems in the world and raised important questions as to what else can be done from healthcare management point of view to better handle such situations in the future. There needs to be a collaboration between different stakeholders such as the Governments, entrepreneurs and community in order to support each other during such difficult times. And this was witnessed in various developing countries with high population density as they didn't have enough oxygen cylinders and hospital beds to support the rising COVID-19 cases.
🤔 A lot has been said about tackling plastic waste. We are somewhere between thought and action but now is the time to pace up and take that action if we need to witness some results. But, what can be some of the tangible measures that we can potentially take to control that?
Our guests simplified it for you:
✅ Being conscious & responsible for your actions as an individual.
✅ Own up your action and take it forward. Don't always rely on the Govt to take the first step to do everything.
✅ Different stakeholders including Universities, Govt and startups need to collaborate with each other.
✅ Education and marketing needs to be done at the grass-root level and in a simplified manner, which the people can understand.
✅ Having incentives for the industries for being the most proactive ones to tackle this challenge.
✅ Let's make the messaging as clear and easy as possible, which even a child can understand.
Listen to the complete conversation that we had at Ultimate Global Podcast with George Mavros, Dr Sreerupa Sengupta and Dr Sameer Joshi phd.
Social Media has become a very important tool in today’s world, from communication to businesses, everyone needs social media. But how to use this and what are the recent trends in social media?
Join us in our discussion to know more about, 'Recent Trends in Social Media Marketing,' with Darren Saul and George Mavros.
As a startup, how can you effectively communicate your position through messaging? In the recent episode of Ultimate Global Podcast, we were joined by David Miller (Co-Founder of Red Basket) to discuss on this.
He is working with co-founders to build a message house; encompassing their Vision, Mission, their messages, proof to support the key messages, their key claim and customer testimonials. David highlighted on the importance of Objection Handling using “Proof to support”.
🎓🏫A University can play a key role in laying down a strong foundation for entrepreneurs. What an entrepreneur needs at an early stage even before building their LEAN Canvas are 2 critical elements: confidence in building their idea and mentorship from someone who has already gone through a similar journey.
🇦🇺🌉 Universities in Sydney like UNSW have been playing a major role in doing that with programs such as UNSW Founders, UNSW Heroes, and Interchange Program. I discussed this as well as the role of the Governments in nurturing those entrepreneurs beyond their University life with David Burt who is the Director of Entrepreneurship at UNSW Sydney.
🏛️ Not only does any Government can play a major role in funding new ventures but also providing them with a subsidized shared workspace or even playing a part in procurement and becoming a customer of those startups. Sydney itself is home to so many such fantastic shared workspaces like Fishburners, Work Club Global, WeWork, Stone & Chalk, and Tank Stream Labs.
Focusing on different ways of personal development and continuously building on your soft skills is becoming more important than ever before. I discussed about this with Mattia Basile, an Account Executive from Speechify, who shared some of his wonderful insights on personal growth.
There can so many different ways of doing that:
✅ Become an effective communicator and articulate your thoughts clearly to people.
✅ Stay updated on the global affairs
✅ Be open to meeting new people through platforms such as LinkedIn, Meetups and other socials.
✅ Focus on creating a strong personal brand.
✅ Read books on technology, entrepreneurship and leadership to build a growth mindset

He has already organised 246 lunches till now with 246 different people coming from different ages and backgrounds. I am quite lucky be one of them.

🤝 Here, I was joined by Christopher Tabet who shared some of his wonderful insights on “Role Played by Political Psychology in Today’s Times”.
ℹ️ In this episode, we discussed on the differences between liberalism and conservatism. There were also a couple of interesting questions which we tried to touch upon.
❓ How different are the left-winged and right-winged people? What makes them left-winged or right-winged? What can be the right minimum age of voting for youngsters? How have topics such as Climate Change been merged with politics in the recent times?
🤔 What are the different ways used by you in generating demand in B2B Sales & Marketing? Which one of the following ways are you mostly using?
✅ Cold Calling
✅ Direct Email Campaigns
✅ Referrals/ Word of Mouth Marketing
❗What is working well for your business might not work for others because every product and industry is very different. But, its important for you to conduct in-depth customer research and test out all possible ways.
🎧 Listen into this interesting discussion that we had with George Coudounaris, who is the Co-Host of the The B2B Playbook.

Listen to an interesting discussion on strong leadership and effective teams with Piyush Wason (Head of Technical Consultancy at Condeco Software).
One of the most important qualities of a leader is to be empathetic towards their employees. Making your employees happy is even more important than making your clients happy. If you can take care of your staff, they will automatically take care of your clients.
A strong and visionary leadership is also necessary to create new leaders and running effective teams. Being a servant leader and putting people first can help you become an influential leader and create a significant impact on the society.
Clearly communication your company's vision is extremely critical to create result-driven teams. Giving your team some free space and flexibility to achieve their daily and weekly goals can in fact bring unexpected results.
Why are Scandinavian countries always leading the Happiness Index? Listen to this interesting discussion with Karan Khosla who is currently a Sales Specialist at Leadfeeder, Denmark.
Is Corruption Perceptions Index directly impacting the Happiness Index?
There seems to be a potential logic to this argument that if taxpayers' money isn't wasted, then it can be invested in social welfare, education, health, scientific research and entrepreneurship.
Better quality of life and social equality can be some of the key reasons for Scandinavian countries in the world. Nordic countries emphasise on building a less competitive environment and thus improving on work life balance.
Can a similar kind of model be implemented in other countries? This can be a challenge but a definite possibility if done with the right intention.
Clear Communication and effective feedback are definitely 2 key pillars of a strong and result-driven team. But there are some other important factors which were touched upon by Prof Bradley Hastings from UNSW Sydney when he joined us at Ultimate Global Podcast.
Some of the elements discussed by him include:
(1) Diversity: It is an essential component in any team. You can learn a lot when you work with people coming from different backgrounds and possessing varied skill-sets. Diversity may also give rise to debate and conflict but that expands your thinking horizon as well.
(2) Purpose: A team should clearly know what they are set to achieve and how they are going to do that.
(3) Learning: No team can progress and do better without adding skills and learning new things every day. You need to have a growth mindset by exploring something new every day.
In this episode, we were joined by Joe Ambridge & Mark Fielding, who are the Co-Hosts of Never Alone.
Let’s take some time this Sunday to talk about your Mental Health and how we can cope up with anxiety & depression.
This can be caused by several issues going on in our personal life because of bad relationships with someone or if something bad has happened with us recently or even due to social media.
Getting started with Mindfulness can definitely be a key strategy along with performing regular yoga sessions.
Sharing your problem with your peers will make you feel lighter and reduce any unwanted anxiety.
You can go out on a walk in the nature, listen to your favourite songs, read a book or do any such thing which helps you to relax your mind.
If you are still not able to come out of it, consult a professional psychiatrist/ counsellor, who can understand your problem and provide a step-by-step guide to your concerns.
In this episode, we were joined by Patrick Seibt (Account Executive at GoCardless). We discussed about different sales strategies to boost your company growth in 2022.
The top 3 strategies suggested by him, which the companies could look at are: Cold Calling, Social Selling & making use of the latest technologies to boost their sales in 2022.
He discussed about how important it is for the sales people to first be fully convinced about the product they are selling even before they start convincing other people. Ask as many questions as you can to your hiring managers about the product so that you can get all the information on the product.
People coming from different industries and roles can definitely become good salespeople. While recruiting new sales people, one of the key parameters for the hiring managers to look at could be how ambitious the individual is, what kind of overall impact they can create in the organisation and how well they can sell their personal brand.
In this episode, we discussed about the recent invasion of Russia into Ukraine, what it's possible implications can be in the short run and the long run.
In the last few days, we have been hearing a lot about what's happening in Ukraine, what made Russia invade Ukraine, what else the NATO countries can do and the bravery of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In this episode, we have tried to bring all that together and share some of our key insights on this issue.
With the advancement of technology, marketers can track and analyze what users are interested in. This then allows content strategists to generate news, articles, blogs and other forms of content that users are more likely to interact and engage with.
Listen into what Tony Simmons has to say on that. Tony is the CEO & Co-Founder of Sonnant AI. Their company is growing audiences, engagement and monetisation through voice discovery of your spoken word content. He also runs a podcast for business leaders and entrepreneurs podcast Disciplinn. 🙋♂️ With almost everyone on LinkedIn these days, building your personal brand on LinkedIn has now become really important for everyone to differentiate themselves from others.
🤝 I was joined by 👨🏻💻 Dipak Vadera Vadera (Director of Inbound Sales at Leadfeeder) who touch based upon some key points:
😃 Be authentic with who you are while posting content on LinkedIn.
🕒 Be regular in posting relevant content on LinkedIn. Keep aside some time for it everyday. Guess what, less than 1% of people on LinkedIn post content regularly. Its your time to shine out now.
🔗 Build quality connections with people from around the world by sending them a personalised invite and nurture that relationship by following up with them regularly.

🎧 Listen to this interesting discussion with the Co-Founder of the Equity Gals Podcast, Giulia Colaci. She has created this Podcast with an aim of bridging the gender investment gap.
🤩 It was fascinating to know from her that 18% of women in Australia are actively investing now. And this number can definitely be improved if they know how to tailor those resources available in the market with the help of fantastic mentors such as Giuilia.

In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. But how does one work towards building this sense of growth mindset and why is it so important?
In order to achieve more than those with a fixed mindset, one has to worry less about looking smart and instead put more energy into learning. When entire companies embrace a growth mindset, their employees report feeling far more empowered and committed; they also receive far greater organizational support for collaboration and innovation.
Saurabh Kaura discusses growth mindset with Josh Farr, founder of Campus Consultancy.
The Panama Papers scandal involved a leak of 11.5 million confidential documents from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca. The files show how Mossack Fonseca clients were able to launder money, dodge sanctions and avoid tax.
It is the biggest leak in history, dwarfing the data released by the WikiLeaks organization in 2010. But what is the outcome of it? Have the corrupt paid the price or are still walking guilt-free?
George Mavros and Saurabh Kaura find out.
Start-ups play a key role in terms of job creation, innovation, and long-run growth, but the COVID-19 crisis is playing spoilsport. A lot of young and aspiring entrepreneurs are scared and skeptical. Is this a good time to take off?
It's no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic is posing unprecedented challenges to businesses of all shapes and sizes. To survive the pandemic and the new digital-first world it is creating, businesses—and especially startups—need future-proof business management and communication tools.
Saurabh Kaura, co-founder of Ultimate Global Podcast, and Shayan Yar, founder of Startup with Shayan, will tell you how it’s done.
What caused the unprecedented Facebook outage last week? In this podcast episode, we discuss Facebook’s disappearing act.
Inexplicably, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services were gone. And it was no joke. In a blog post, Downdetector.com, a major monitoring service for online outages, called it the largest global outage it had ever recorded—with 10.6 million reports from around the world.
Families couldn’t connect with their loved ones across continents. But the outage especially had a massive effect on businesses around the globe that rely on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram for payments and to communicate with customers.
While global outages are rare, but they do happen. Facebook has now issued “sincere apologies”.
The protests following the horrific Delhi bus case in December 2012, led to new anti-rape laws in India in 2013. These laws criminalized a range of sexual assaults and allowed for death penalty of the perpetrators. This incident made everyone examine between South Asia and other countries of the world why girls and women receive fewer resources and are often victim to violent crimes. Are women safe in South Asian countries?
According to the 2004 Oxfam International paper, there are 50 million fewer women in South Asia than there should be—girl babies are killed before birth through sex-selective abortions, or die prematurely through violence and neglect. Millions more girls and women face discrimination—they have less to eat than boys and men, are denied an education, are forced into dowry marriages, have little or no access to health services, and suffer violence. It further adds that this situation will not just be changed by state laws and international agreements.
Until men’s and women’s belief that violence against women is a ‘private’ matter and culturally acceptable is challenged and changed, the violence and discrimination will continue. Here is to making women in South Asia feel safe and secure!
When delivered accurately, team development can create an innovative atmosphere that encourages cooperation, teamwork, hard work and trust among its members. But what takes to be a great leader while working in a team?
Successful leaders are only able to positively influence others by using their innate qualities. Good leadership is significant in a business context for means of analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of a team and team players.
Without effective leadership, an organization is likely to crumble.
So, remember: A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.
Dominic Perrottet, 39, has become the state's youngest premier in history after winning a party room ballot against Planning Minister Rob Stokes. But what went after his successor Gladys Berejiklian's resignation has created much bigger a stir in the state.
The election of a new NSW Liberal leader comes after Berejiklian's shock resignation last Friday following an announcement by NSW's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) it was investigating her.
Will Perrottet be able to become a crisis leader just like his successor? Only time will tell.
Content marketing is really important for all kinds of business across different platforms. Understanding why you are producing some content and for whom is extremely important for your brand to engage with the right customers. It’s extremely critical for you to understand what your target market wants to read and react to. Undoubtedly, this might take some time as you will have to first build trust and credibility with your customers in order to convince them to buy your product or service. Thus, the firms can start with defining their customer profiles, demographics and interests before they create content for them.
What an interesting Indian Premier League we are witnessing this year with Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore already confirming their spots in the playoffs. It’s going to watch out for who qualifies for that 4th spot. Kolkata Knight Riders seem to be leading that race at this moment with their high net run rate and a strong momentum with a victory in the last match. Teams like DC and RCB seem to have a good chance of winning their first ever IPL because of a strong team combination they have. For teams like Rajasthan Royals, it's critical to win both the games against the MI and KKR if they want to qualify for the playoffs. And for that, their middle order has to support the top order which might need another stellar performance from players like Shivam Dube.
Acting fast on the UN Sustainable Development Goals is extremely important for the world. There has been too much talking and less action in the recent past. We need to stop doing that and instead start taking those small baby steps which can help us achieve our 2030 targets collectively. As pointed out by Prof Sreerupa, what we might have to clearly look at is to make these SDGs a part of our policy framework combined with a strong leadership to implement that policy. All the countries need to come together on taking those measurable steps, which are actually creating an impact on the society. It’s so important to take an action, ask for feedback on that action and keep this entire process transparent to the world. Once this is done correctly, it will definitely help us come close to our sustainability targets in the coming years.
Listen to our Daily Dose Podcast as we discuss the relevance of the Gandhian values in the 21st century. The world celebrates Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October every year which marks the birth anniversary of this great soul, who was able to impart key lessons to his future generations. He proposed ideas like Sarvodaya (welfare of all) which can be achieved through truth and non-violence. Gandhiji also brought about various ideologies focusing on empowering and making villages self-sufficient, women empowerment, sanitation etc. Mahatma Gandhi’s five pillars of nonviolence are still so relevant in the current environment, consisting of respect, understanding, acceptance, appreciation and compassion are basic to our existence.
The 76th session of the UN General Assembly was dominated by speeches of some of the world’s most influential political leaders. Countries have made commitments to take strong action on key issues such as Climate Change, COVID-19 and conflict. A lot was talked about Climate Change and Terrorism but the bigger question here is what’s the action the world leaders are ready to take. Or is it just going to remain as a political speech at a global forum? That's what they have to decide so that we can actually witness a change. Otherwise, it might sound more like a “blah-blah-blah”, as pointed out by Greta Thunberg a few days back.
The independence of the media has been under the radar for a couple of years now. It’s a matter of great shame that even most of the media houses have solely lost their independence in some of the most powerful democracies in the world currently. As consumers, we definitely have a choice to make as to what we want to watch and what we don’t want to watch. The World Press Freedom Index gives us a clear indication of how some of the Scandinavian countries are leading the chart in giving press more independence as compared to a lot of developed countries. There seems to be dedicated efforts put forth by popular global leaders to target certain media houses which don’t follow a particular ideology or thought process.
The state of New South Wales in Australia has declared their path to freedom from the current COVID-19 Lockdown once the state reaches 70% vaccination rate on 11th October and 80% vaccination rate on 25th October. Pubs, restaurants, hairdressers and retail stores are expected to open up on 11th October. And that’s what most of the people might be waiting for. But, there is still a lack of clarity on what happens to those who are fully vaccinated close contacts of COVID-19 cases. It is highly possible that there might be a resurgence in these cases but we need to be prepared for that and get ready to open up different businesses in the coming days.
The 16-year long tenure of the first female German Chancellor and one of the most popular leaders globally, Angela Merkel is now coming to an end. She has been successfully able to transform Germany into a modern country that is less defined by its history and more by its power to rule in the world of new technologies. Merkel was indeed a pragmatic individual and a problem solver. Not only this, but she was also considered to be a crisis manager who helped Germany successfully transition through major crisis situations such as the financial crisis of 2008, the migrant crisis of 2015, and the COVID 19 pandemic.
In Friday’s Daily Dose on International students, we shared some really key tips on how international students can network while studying abroad. It’s so important for you to become a part of different activities and interact with a lot of new people. However, being open and authentic about yourself is equally critical while entering into different conversations. It’s about learning the art of what to talk about, when to talk, where to talk and how to talk about a specific thing. Learning the art of an elevator pitch and a small talk can play a vital role while you attend various network events.
The new strategic alliance between USA, UK and Australia is definitely going to have a significant impact on the world. It is also going to upset some of the countries such as China and France. Australia has officially broken the contract which they signed previously with France in 2016 where they were getting 12 diesel electric-powered submarines on a $ 90 billion contract. The new nuclear submarines have an ability to remain in sea for as long as 5 months and can work quietly, thus allowing them to better evade their enemy detection. This alliance has also re-affirmed the fact that the US still wants the UK and not the European Union, even after Brexit.
Travel industry has been one of the most badly hit industries during the coronavirus pandemic. And that’s why one of the top priorities for the CEO of WTTC (World Travel & Tourism Council) Julia Simpson has been to focus on the revival of this sector and get the lost tourism jobs back. 62 million jobs have been lost just in this particular sector along with the contribution to the global GDP getting halved.
One of the most difficult job during the COVID-19 pandemic has been for the contact tracers who have been working day and night to identify the chains of transmission of COVID-19 virus. With the highly transmissible Delta strain, their job has become even more difficult. However, contact tracing is still playing a key role in keeping the transmission rates under check. Moving forward, the best way for the societies will be to eventually open up once a certain level of vaccination rates are achieved. There will be a strong requirement for different stakeholders such as the bureaucracy, health officials and people to come together and act responsibly.
The ongoing extreme climate activities including devastating hurricanes, dangerous bushfires, torrential rains and deadly heat waves are sending strong signals to take immediate & collective action by all the countries. A recent report recommends countries to work towards 5 policy levers including increasing their investment towards greener technologies, regulating carbon emissions, imposing taxes and subsidies, leading by example as global leaders as well as informing and educating society at different levels. So, let’s come together and take strong actions in the coming years. It’s time for us not only to set big milestones but also to convert them into concrete actions.
Studying abroad can involve a lot of challenges in terms of understanding the right ways of networking with others, absorbing the cultural shock as well as home-sickness. It is extremely critical in those scenarios for the students to take an extra mile and come out of their comfort zones. Approaching as many new people in a new country and understanding how to get into meaningful conversations can benefit you as an international student. Preparing an effective elevator pitch and small talk is definitely going to take you a long way ahead. Tune into this interesting conversation between Saurabh, who is currently an international student in Australia and George, who has been mentoring a lot of international students coming to Australia.
It’s time to discuss about how the situation in Afghanistan looks like after a month of Taliban taking control of it. There have been several key developments happening recently including the formation of their Govt which apparently doesn’t include any women. UN’s political head, Pramila Patten has in fact pointed out at the importance of women’s participation in the decision making of the Govt which will also provide inclusiveness and legitimacy to the functioning of this regime. A recent report by UNICEF points out several key problems which need to be urgently addressed in Afghanistan including the devastating hunger situation and drought problems faced there. Listen into more insights shared here by George Mavros and Maryam Popal Zahid (Founder of Afghan Women on the Move).
The alliance of BRICS consisting of emerging economies such as Brazil, Russia, India, China & South Africa is definitely able to have a strong influence on the global business environment due to their low labour costs, abundance of natural resources and favourable demographics in these nations. The primary agenda of 13th Annual BRICS Summit organized last week revolved around 2 primary issues. One is the current COVID-19 situation for which the leaders of these countries felt that there is a strong need to completely vaccinate their countries by coming together in the same fashion as they have already been doing. Another major issue discussed was related to the ongoing Afghanistan crisis. The future of this union will strongly depend on how effectively these leaders are able to implement their vision in the next couple of years.
With an extremely high transmissibility rate of the Delta variant, having a zero-COVID target seems to be a really unrealistic situation. Even countries such as Singapore with 80% double vaccination rate are reimposing restrictions back after recording the maximum daily cases since August 2020. The countries need to unite together to encourage people to get vaccinated soon before more variants of this virus get identified such as “Mu” in America. The health experts as well as the national leaders should also try to find a solution for vaccinating children below 16 years of age so that they can feel safe in sending their children to schools in the coming times. UK's chief medical officers have approved the first dose of Pfizer for kids aged 12-15.
Providing mentorship can be a brilliant way of contributing towards meeting some of the key UN Sustainable Development Goals such as reduced inequalities, zero hunger and no poverty. One of the biggest downfalls during COVID-19 has been witnessed in the International Education sector. Since a lot of students cannot travel abroad in a safe environment during a pandemic, they have been left completely confused as to whether they should be delaying their plans of studying abroad now. This is the time for all the countries to create a safe & secure ecosystem where they are in a situation to resume the International education sector once they attain a certain level of vaccination rate. Some of the countries such as Canada and the UK have been doing incredibly well in this regard but others such as Australia need to have a clear strategy to bring back international students.
We will be marking 20 years of completion of the devastating 9/11 attack in the US this Saturday on 11th September, in which around 3,000 people died due to numerous airline hijackings and suicide attacks by 19 terrorists associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda. It also led to the beginning of the longest war, which recently ended abruptly. Or shall we say that the war has now entered into its next phase? The instability caused in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the US military forces is completely visible.
Being adaptable and flexible is the need of the hour in today's business environment. COVID-19 has shown us the importance of being agile in the way we work and structure our businesses in the near future. Both the employers and employees need to understand that this is the new normal that will now remain for a long time. And that's why the organizations might have to think of adopting quickly to the new technologies and transitioning from a hierarchical to a network structure. Learning and adapting with the upcoming trends is going to be crucial to stay ahead of the competitors.
In today’s Tuesday Daily Dose on COVID-19 Updates/Sports, we discuss about the impact of COVID-19 on your mental health. What we might require to do here is to look at this problem both from the community angle as well as an administrative angle. An integrated whole-of-society response will play a key role in determining how well the society gets access to the mental health services and what kind of financial support the governments, and other institutions can provide to people during such life-threatening pandemics. Listen to more interesting insights shared in this episode.
