Hello and welcome back to the Coaching Series, where I strive to answer one question that often comes up during a person's journey to self-love and acceptance.

Today's question is in the title: "How do you find your happiness when life becomes either too mundane or too overwhelming?"

This is a really big one because, as we all know, life is full of responsibilities and we just "keep going" day after day, over and over. So how do you find that joy in everyday moments?

Tune in and find out!

And if you need that extra support, don't forget my free self-love master class is there to support you and help you go even deeper into finding that joy and feeling really good about life. (edited)

Welcome back dear listener to the Coaching Series.

Join me today as I talk about how to balance caring for others while still taking care of yourself. This is tricky, and I've had my own fair share of struggles with this, so my goal here to share what I learned in the hope and belief that it will help you on your own journey.

You probably already know the importance of taking care of yourself, because when we're not taking care of ourselves, we can't take care of others.

Taking care of yourself is more than just pampering; of course, you need to find something that fills you up and brings you joy.

And if you'd like to reclaim your joy, I've got a completely free gift to help you do just that!

Hello again dear listener and welcome back to Coaching Series.

Today we're talking about practical steps that can help you shift from negative self-talk to self-compassion. Because - here's the thing - we all have negative self-talk now and then. You're not alone.

Join me today as I walk you through the things you can do, right now, when that voice in your head - that sounds like you, but isn't really you - puts you down

Now, if you want to go even deeper into this, I actually have a course that's completely free on my website specifically about negative self-talk. If this episode has resonated with you I strongly encourage you to take action and click that link!

Welcome back to the Coaching Series where I tackle a new question each week to help you live more authentically.

And today's question is: How do you manage anxiety when you're making a big decision?

This decision could be a physical move (out of state or province, or even out of country), a career change, or even a relationship. What do you do when things feel so overwhelming?

Well, hang tight because I'm going to walk you through it and share a number of steps that you can take when faced with any of life's big decisions or events.

Remember that it is okay to feel anxious and overwhelmed and afraid of new beginnings. Just try not to let them dictate where you go next.

And if you'd like a little bit more support with reclaiming your joy like I mentioned in this podcast, you can start right now. Oh! And don't forget that I've opened up some space for 1-on-1 coaching! But if you'd rather be part of a group sharing your experiences with other women (besides me), then we'll all welcome you to our loving community too.

Welcome back dear listener to the Coaching Series where I take one common question related to self-love and self-care and really dive deep into exploring the answers to just that question.

Today's question is: How can I set and keep boundaries without guilt or fear of rejection?

I'm going to be honest, this is a big one, and it's something that took me forever to get. And figuring it out involved a bit of stumbling along the way. Join me today as I hope to provide some insights into how you can set these boundaries and hopefully avoid the stumbling part. :)

And if this is something that resonates with you and you realize that you want more, or know that you need to fine tune your boundaries, I talk more about boundaries in a Course in Self-Love.

It is a self-paced online course that walks you through the steps to create a deeper loving relationship with yourself, and empower you to set those boundaries with love and compassion, so you can speak up and tell others what you need.

Hello and welcome back to the Coaching Series, where you can think of me as a personal coach and I answer one of your burning questions.

Today's question is: How do I figure out what I truly want when I've been taking care of others for so long?

OK, so you've spent years placing the needs of others above your own, so this question can feel overwhelming or even frightening because your internal compass has been pointed outward for so long.

But here's the good news: It's never too late to turn that compass inward.

I've got several practices and exercises you can start right now to help you do just that. And for podcast members, you'll have direct access to them without having to listen to this whole podcast again.

And for an even deeper dive into self-love, you can follow this link and get access to a self-paced, on-demand course tailored to help you realize what self-love is all about.

Think of it as a series of micro-coaching sessions where we explore one question and today's question is: How do I stop comparing myself to others?

Hello dear listener, and thank you for joining me today for the final episode in this mini-series Finding Your Way Back Home.

If you haven't heard the previous 3 installments, I encourage you to do that because today we're going to briefly go over some of the things we've covered and then we're going to talk about how to make all of it sustainable.

I'll share details about a simple framework to make that possible called compass, map, and steps, then touch on some ways to stay connected to supportive people, including one of my own favorite areas - yep, you guessed it - the Be You! Community Room.

We want you to really get to know yourself again, and we want you to show up authentically true to yourself. It's all about love and we can still be truthful and honest coming from a place of love.

So if you're ready to find and be a part of a community, so you can really practice new habits and receive encouragement, please join the Be You! Community Room over on my website.

It is so much more fun when you walk this journey with others who can celebrate your attempts and normalize setbacks, because setbacks happen. And then having those same people saying, "I see you", "I hear you", and asking "How can I help?"

I look forward to seeing you there!

Hello and welcome back to the next episode of this mini-series Finding Your Way Back Home.

So far we've asked ourselves "Why?" Why do we not feel like our true selves? Then we talked about fear and how to move forward despite fear showing up.

Today, we're going to reclaim something quieter, but even more powerful: your needs.

Everybody has needs. And your needs are not selfish; they're essential.

So join me as we explore how to recognize, name, and begin to meet your emotional and practical needs with compassion, caring, and honesty. As well as learning how to communicate those needs to others.

And if you'd like to really get supported in this, setting boundaries, or even just sharing ideas and asking questions, then the Be You! Community Room is for you.

It's a safe space to practice just showing up authentically as yourself, to share your stories, to share your struggles, your challenges, your wins, and to receive support as you rediscover yourself. And it's 100% free to join and participate.

Hello dear listener! Thank you for tuning into the second episode of the miniseries Finding Your Way Back Home.

Today we're going to meet fear and learn how to act when it rises up within us. Fear wears many masks.

Procrastination, perfectionism, people pleasing, or self-doubt. It's that little voice holding us back. It's trying to keep us safe, but in doing so, it's keeping us small.

Join me today as I help you to feel the fear, understand why it's showing up, and then do the thing you were scared of doing anyways!

And if you'd like a little bit more guidance to really find your way home, to know who you are, then I have news for you!

I have created a free 7-Day Inner Compass Challenge to guide you through the process of identifying your values. I'll walk you through it and we'll create tiny practices you can perform so the fear becomes more manageable.

Hello and welcome to the very first episode of a 4-part miniseries called Finding Your Way Back Home.

Over the next 4 episodes, we're going to explore how to find yourself again, the real you, the one that knew who you were, and did what you wanted so that you can live authentically.

If you're tired of living on autopilot or feeling like you've lost touch with who you are, you're in the right place and I see you. I get you. Because I've been there myself.

In this first episode, we're going to ask a simple, but powerful question: "Where did you go?". We'll name the common ways we lose ourselves, notice what that feels like, and begin the first step back towards home.

It takes real courage to pull back the layers, and really look at where you're at and who you are. That's the first step and I'm here with you on this part of your journey. The next step involves small, consistent practices that tune you back to your inner voice.

And to help you with that I've created a free 7-day Inner Compass Challenge. It's 7 short daily practices designed to help you recognize your values, notice your emotions, and begin making choices that feel true to who you are. Come join us.

Hello dear listener and welcome back to Loving Me, Myself & Life! Today we're talking about trusting the unknown, letting go and letting life lead.

Now I understand that sounds so much easier than it can be. Trusting the unknown can be very scary, and it can be frightening at times. But, as I share some of the times in my own life where I let go of control, let go of my expectations, some really amazing things can happen.

I want those things to happen for you too, so in addition to the guided meditation you'll find in here, I talk about the three pillars of trust, what they are, and how you can learn to practice them and trust in them.

Remember if you feel called to do so, you can join the Be You! Community Room, or maybe subscribe to this podcast, or even both! Over the years, I really hope that I can see this community grow and expand and help women through all the seasons of life. I would love to see you there! (edited)

Hello again, dear listener, thank you for joining me for the next episode of "Life Loves You"- a series inspired by one of my mentors, Louise Hay. Today we're going to talk about "body wisdom", feeling life's love through sensation and presence.

There are days where you wake up intentionally, you feel the ground at your feet, and you set an intention for the day. Those are the days you are listening to your body and are in sync. But then there are other days (and for most of us, there's a lot more of them) where you ignore what your body is trying to tell you.

I'm going to share part of my story, where I was ignoring my body (for years), in the hope that if this sounds like you, you can stop trying to push through it and instead really listen to what your body has to tell you.

Keep listening as I've included a special guided meditation in this episode which you can come back to anytime you need to. If you happen to be a member of this podcast, you also get the meditation on it's own, so something to think about if you're coming back to hear it again and again.

Remember, life loves you.

Hello and welcome to the second episode of this wonderful miniseries "Life Loves You" - I'm so excited that you are joining me today!

We're going to talk about rewriting inner narratives, so life's love can really be seen. What's your inner narrative? Well it can be true, but it can also be something that you internalized that isn't true and it's now holding you back from being your authentic self.

I'll share what my narrative was for a long time before I learned that this story wasn't my story and that I should stop repeating it to myself.

What I want to do today is remind you that you are in control of your life. You are the driver of your life and you get to decide which way you go. You are amazing just as you are.

And remember if you're not a member yet, you can join the Be You! Community Room absolutely free to find the love and support you need right now from women like you and me.

Hello dear listeners and welcome back to a whole new mini-series I call "Life Loves You".

This series is dedicated to a woman that really supported me in spirit and in her teachings on my self-love journey: Louise Hay. If you don't know who that is, well I'll share about her and how she helped to shape who I am today.

My hope in life is that I touch even a fraction of the people that she did, because even to this day, with her physically gone, she's still helping people and that's just incredible.

So join me today as I share about those days where I just feel this trust and alignment and support around me and how life just flows. You can feel that way too!

Oh and don't forget that the affirmation I share in this episode is available as a stand-alone audio file for members and people that support this podcast!

Hello dear listeners! Welcome back to another episode of the "Be You!" podcast miniseries. This one is for anyone who's wrestling with regret, anxiety, or the pressure to fix everything right now.

Join me as I acknowledge something obvious but profound: Life keeps happening. And when we resist what's happening by clinging to how things "should be" or replaying how they "could have been", well, we waste a lot of our energy there.

So what can we do instead? Embrace what is. That doesn't mean being complacent, or giving up. It's radical acceptance that frees your energy, allowing you to respond, to grow, and to create.

If this episode resonated with you, please visit my website at www.jodymyciak.com, where you'll find the Be You! Hello and welcome back for the 2nd episode of the podcast miniseries Be You!.

This episode was inspired by a conversation I had a while back with someone about how life took them on a path that didn't seem good at the time, but then looking back, everything that happened has happened for a reason.

I'll also share my own story that fits this narrative - where I was lost, and in a really dark place, but that's because life was setting the stage for me to walk on to something even more amazing than what I'd left behind.

And near the end, before reminding you of the wonderful supportive community you can join here, we'll talk about some practices you can start right now to help you embrace this mindset: That Everything Happens for a Reason.

However, I have to break this up into two parts because there's just too much to share in one podcast!

So next week, I'm going to go into more rituals and practices that you can do. But for now, I'm going to leave you with some things you can do today.

Not the least of which is joining the Be You! Community Room to help you rekindle that spark within your soul!

There was once a time in my life where I didn't think I had time for rest. In fact, I was one of those people in my twenties that said, you know, life's too short, I'll sleep when I'm dead.

Well, today I know that mindset is just plain wrong. Seeking rest and honouring it is not being lazy. It's actually a productivity boost.

And if you want a place to really be you, to share what you're doing for rest, and where you'd never be judged for choosing rest over a crazy weekend out, I have a Be You! Community Room that is absolutely free, and it's all there to encourage you to be yourself.

Hello and welcome once again to Loving Me, Myself & Life!

This month, I want to do a theme that really will help remind you that you matter too, so over the course of a month or so I am going to share different things that can kind of just help reinforce the idea that you are amazing and that you do matter just as you are right now in this moment.

For this episode, let's talk about the things you don't owe anyone an explanation for, and there's a lot you might not think of, so let's get into it!

And if you want a safe place to be you, no fixing or changing yourself required, I invite you to join the Be You! Community Room. And the best part? It's absolutely free.

Hello and welcome back for the 4th (and last) episode of Finding Your Way Back to Happy!

Over the past 3 weeks, we've been talking about what to do when the sh!t really hits the fan, like letting go of expectations, but now we're going to talk about how to shift your perspective.

I felt so worn out from that month and a half of life just not going flowing lightly and like just not really going my way, y'know?

That's when I decided I really needed to shift my perspective. And how did I do that? Tune in, and find out!

And if you want a little bit more guidance, I have a free master class all about self-love that you can join right now, right here.

Hello and welcome! I am so happy that you are here!

Today, we're going to talk about letting go of expectations, as part of the continuation for my story from last week. (link episode).

I'm going to share how I had some big plans (or rather, expectations) for our Labour Day weekend and how that kind of backfired. Maybe you can relate?

We sometimes have this idea that everything is going to be perfect, or everything is going to work out like we planned it, but then it doesn't. And you look back on all that effort you put into the plan, or the feelings you invested in a future that didn't happen, and it just feels...exhausting.

But those feelings, that energy, does not have to continue to colour the rest of our week, month, or year. We can let it go, and return to the flow.

To help you with that, and really get to understand your true self, I have a master class just for you!

Wow...that last month flew by, and the worst part is that my beginning to the new school year was, well, you can guess from the title of today's podcast.

BUT I learned so much from everything that has happened that I've decided to switch gears from what I did over the summer to share it all with you!

I felt so miserable and lost that I had to dig really deep and find my way back to happiness.

As I mentioned at the end of the podcast, here's a link for the master class, and don't forget about our loving community!

Welcome back dear listener to the final episode of our mini-series "Embrace Your Inner Ally". You and I have covered a lot in service of transforming that inner critic into an ally, and today we're going to tie it all together on how to live your life with self-compassion.

Along the way, we'll build a toolkit of techniques to use when that critic speaks up - so slowly, over time, the negative self-talk is replaced with something beautiful instead.

We'll also explore the ripple effects of self-compassion and how it not only improves your own life, but the lives of those around you - from family and friends to complete strangers!

I'm always here for you. And others are too. Let's work together towards your best self!

Today's episode is especially close to my heart, and I think it'll resonate with many of you. We're diving into a topic that feels so relevant, especially during these tough times when it feels the hardest to love ourselves.

Like it says in the title, we're talking about how to love yourself when you don't feel like it. I feel this truth in my heart so much because I have days or even weeks sometimes when I don't really feel like loving myself.

I'll also be sharing a very personal story with you today. Something I haven't shared before on this podcast.

Remember that you're not alone. You reach out to me directly by email, or join the Be You! Community Room to find love and support from others on their own self-love journeys.

Hello and welcome back listeners! I am so excited that you are here today!

If you missed episode one, where I laid the groundwork for understanding self-compassion, I encourage you to check it out here as it sets the stage for everything else we'll explore together.

Today's episode is all about healing our inner critic - that negative voice that seems (to some of us at least) to have been with us forever. This voice, while it may sound like you, isn't you.

We're going to explore this voice together. Where it comes from, why it exists, and most importantly, how can we soothe it.

Today's episode is all about reflection, celebrating, and looking to the future.

This summer we've explored self-love, personal growth, and authentic living, week by week, step by step, and now it's time to pause, honor everything you've accomplished, and create a vision for the season ahead.

And if you're looking for the next step, I have got a course for you! We covered a wide range of topics in this miniseries and in A Course In Self-Love we'll be going even deeper and cover even more topics.

Hello dear listener! Thank you for once again joining me for another installment of the Summer Micro-Boost!

Today's episode is gonna be a big one because we're talking about something that so often gets overlooked in our hustle and bustle lives...

Rest.

Rest is not lazy and it's not indulgent. It's how we recharge, refocus, and show up as the best version of ourselves.

And after we've established why rest is so important, let's talk about how to actually make it happen!

Every Sunday we've gathered to explore self-love, personal growth, and really just embracing who we truly are, because you deserve to enjoy the most amazing version of yourself this summer and beyond.

So today we're diving into the art of saying yes to your heart.

This episode is all about tuning into your inner voice, recognizing what truly lights you up, and learning to trust your intuition to make heart-centered decisions.

And it all starts with a simple question: When was the last time you made a decision purely for yourself?

Hello and welcome to the 6th episode of a very special series - the Summer Micro-Boost! If you're just joining me for the first time, in this series I've been diving deep into bite-size reflections and actionable steps to help you embrace self-love and intentional living.

Today we're going to do a little check-in and redefine your priorities. August is here already, and it's the perfect time to pause and ask yourself, "How am I feeling about where I'm headed?"

Taking this time to check in with yourself is a really good practice to 1) make sure you still want to head in the direction you're heading, and 2) that you're actually heading in the direction you want to head.

The thing is, life moves fast and sometimes even without realizing it, we might be chasing goals that no longer align with who we are right now.

Let's reflect together.

Welcome back dear listener to another installment of the Summer Micro-Boost series!

If you've been following along, we've been diving into the fundamentals of self-love this summer, setting the stage for a season of growth, sunshine, and kindness to ourselves.

Summer is supposed to be carefree, full of fun and relaxation, right? But sometimes we find ourselves weighed down by guilt, for many reasons like missing a workout, eating that extra ice cream cone, or choosing a lazy day at the beach instead of doing something more productive.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Well, today, we're letting that go. Together, we'll learn how to embrace imperfection and release guilt through the lens of self-compassion.

Even in my own journey, a lot of what I learned about myself I discovered without spending a dime, so I know it's possible for you too!

Hello dear listeners! I'm back, and happy to be back! I have so many things to share in the upcoming weeks!

Join me today as we start this off with something that I came across and it struck a chord with me: Well-being Burnout.

I'll share about what this term means in the context of where I found it and what it means to me as well, as I have definitely experienced this even before the term existed.

I've been doing a lot of tapping lately to help me with my weight and that's how I had this emotional breakthrough that I want to share with you today.

It's not just about how I look - not really. It's about how I feel. More sluggish, more brain fog, less flexibility...the thing is, weight isn't just what we eat and how we move - you know, the old (and false) adage: Calories in, calories out?

If you're doing everything right, physically, but the weight is still there, then there's something else going on and I encourage you to explore that. To look deeper inside yourself to find that hidden emotional weight that has manifested physically and begin to heal those parts of you.

And remember, I'm here for you too, even as I explore my own pain, and you can contact me here.

Ok listeners, you might have picked up on the theme of my last few podcasts, but it's time to bring it all home with this one!

Join me today as I talk, in depth, how I neglected the tools in my self-love toolbox and had to re-learn how to use them again to help me the way they always have in the past.

I want you to know that I'm still very much in the thick of it - the muck, the icky, etc. But I felt called to share this with you now as I'm going through it myself as a reminder that you are not alone!

I also know that I'll get through this and be able to share with you all the awesome that I learned along the way, so stay tuned.

Hello dear listeners. I recently had a kind of epiphany, or maybe more of a self-realization... I'm not the person that I was a few years ago, and in a lot of ways, I really miss her...

But dwelling on the past is no way to step into your future, so join me today and listen to my story of how I moved from the initial self-realization, through the pain of loss and regret, and into self-acceptance and love.

Maybe you can relate? Maybe you've caught yourself looking back at your past self and saying "What happened to that person?". You're not alone, and you can reclaim all the things you loved about yourself back then, but only after you've accepted where you are right now.

I also understand that not everyone can just take a step back from all or even some of their responsibilities for a whole week, so I also talk about how you can still achieve your self-care goals within smaller amounts of time.

The important thing isn't how much time, but how much you are invested in your own personal well-being during that time.

Real talk today my dear listeners. Even though I'm an empowerment coach and put myself out here to help all of you, I still fall victim to what I like to call "the hamster wheel of negativity". What is that? You've probably been on it yourself in the past, so listen in as I describe my latest experience with it and how I plan to get myself off of it.

Part of the process is actually exploring those feelings so you can understand them and then let them go. You can't just wish them away.

Don't beat yourself up about it though - that will just keep you stuck. You've got the chance to go deeper here and uncover some truths; which will help you get off your own wheel, or stay off it entirely.

Today I was inspired by a walk for mental health and mental awareness that happened at my kid's school.

It got me to thinking about how I'd bottle up all my so-called "negative" emotions only to them have them explode out of me at a later time.

I can look back now and honour where I came from, so that I can honour where I'm at right now too.

Why are so many of us afraid of failure?

Were you born knowing how to walk or ride a bike or did you have to work at it and learn?

Today I am sharing some of the reasons why we're all so scared of failure and how to re-frame failure as a learning experience, the kind that helps us grow the most.

How many of us fear something that hasn't even happened yet? Or may never happen? Like having a conversation in our heads with an imagined person and imagining their reactions.

The thing is, once you are on the other side of fear, that's when you can look back and realize that however scared you were, this feeling you have now is so much greater and so much more awesome.

My challenge to you today: Find something that you are scared to do and think about how you might do it if you weren't scared...then go and take that first step!

Fear can be a good thing; it's a survival mechanism designed to keep us safe. But fear can also hold us back from trying new things; things that can really make our lives better and more fulfilling.

Join me today as I share some stories about trying new things. Even if the outcome wasn't what we were hoping for, we still came away from the experience with knowledge and sometimes even the desire to try it again.

Remember: All is well. Out of this situation, only good will come. I am safe.

Join me today as I share something that is a bit embarrassing now that I look back on it. Like, why was I resisting this change so much? A lot of the time we don't even realize how much we are resisting a change that, once we do change, leads to a much better place.

It's my hope that by sharing this with you, you take some time to reflect on areas of your own life where you are consciously or unconsciously resisting something and that next step, make that change, and really take control of your life.

Today I share about a recent experience that reminded me that I should "Take a break before you break." Everything was flowing really well...until it wasn't.

Consider this podcast a loving reminder to take some time for you because it is when we are "go go go" that we lose ourselves and have to spend that much more time and energy to find our way back.

You know that old adage "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"?

Well, join me today as I share about a little thing we did as a family so I could get some work done without taking a retreat on a deserted island (well, except for some personal waitstaff of course!)

This time "away" allowed me the space I needed not only to recharge my creative batteries, but to remember all the amazing things about my kids and my husband... things I sort of forgot over time.

And it gave them a chance to miss me too. It wasn't just a weekend for "me" as it turns out, but a weekend for all of us. So if you've been putting off something for you that takes you away from your family, maybe it's time you go and do it - for yourself and them.

I'm not perfect, but I'm better than I used to be.

People are complex; and I'm no exception. I always wanted to be a mom, and I've always wanted to help people. Help them live their best life - whether its through exercise, looking good in the clothes they wear, healthy eating, or improving their self-love, and self-care routines.

Those two things can be very much at odds - especially with my time - and this past year really highlighted that fact.

Join me today as I share about a revelation I had one night after everyone else had gone to bed.

It's so easy to get caught up in the daily routine, the daily tasks, that it's easy to lose yourself in that routine. But it's called the "daily grind" for a reason. It will grind you down, wear you out, and leave nothing of you behind if you're not careful.

The good news is, no matter how far off course you get, you can take steps to get back on track.

Living a life without any idea of what you want that life to look like means you don't know which direction you need to travel in to get to that life.

On the other hand, life rarely goes according to plan so when reality doesn't match your expectations, it's very easy to be disappointed, upset, or even depressed.

I'm sharing with you today about some of my summertime disappointment with the acknowledgement that I let myself feel disappointed for a time - because it's ok to feel that way!

Don't let one disappointment set the tone for the rest of your year, your month, or even your day.

Join me today listeners as I talk about fear and F.E.A.R. (or how you can Face Everything And Rise).

Fear is an extremely powerful emotion. And your fear of something may not be "curable", but you can't let it rule over your life either. So what do you do?

Well, I'll share some stories around my own fears and how I pushed through them. Do I still have those fears? Yes. However, every time I pushed through them, it was more than worth it to experience the beauty on the other side of that fear.

So when fear smacks you right in the face and may prevent you from something awesome, ask yourself instead "What will I miss if I don't push through this fear?"

So try and have some fun today - you'll be glad that you did.

I'm asking you this question today, dear listener: What is it that YOU really want?

That may seem like an easy question to some, but I'm challenging everyone today to dig a lot deeper than your surface thoughts. To connect with your heart, so you can find the "wow-ness" inside you.

Finding my own "wow-ness" was a long journey, some more of which I'll share very openly with you in this podcast. It wasn't an overnight thing - it was a process that I had to work through - a journey of self-discovery that forced me to be honest with myself and others.

My life isn't perfect, whatever that would even mean, but I'm very happy that I walked those steps, listened to my heart, and took that leap of faith. And I want more than anything else for YOU to feel that way too.

Remember, anything is possible when you stop telling yourself that it isn't.

Today I'd like to talk about something that's been a big revelation in my self-love journey - that it's ok not to feel ok.

There was a time in my life where I'd sugarcoat something bad in my life - strive to find some good in a bad situation - that's The Secret right? Well, I'm here to share my thoughts on feelings on this and the fact that you may actually be doing yourself a disservice.

There's nothing at all wrong with you if you are sad, or feeling depressed. Our feelings are there to let us know that something is wrong; that we are out of alignment. If you ignore those feelings - trying to stay positive -  then you won't be able to change your situation.

Our emotions, both "positive" and "negative" are there to tell us something. So if you really want to be happy, you need to listen to them.

P.S. If you need someone to talk to, openly and honestly, remember that I'm here for you!

Have you ever wanted something badly that you've tried everything you can think of to attain it, but it still remains out of your reach? Join me today as explain exactly how that has felt for me and the hard truth I learned while striving for the seemingly unobtainable.

The key is to not try so hard.

Sounds crazy right?

But when we do things or want things out of a feeling of desperation, we end up pushing those things away.

Today I have a few stories about how this has happened in my own life and how I turned it around. I stopped focusing on the outcome, and by extension, what I didn't want.

Then the things I did want manifested within my life with a lot less mental energy than I had been using before I learned to slow down and enjoy the journey, instead of being fixated on the destination.

Today I share a lot of about PMS - but not just the typical definition of PMS which is premenstrual syndrome, but what it has come to mean for me: putting myself second.

There was a time when I first began my self-love journey and focused more on my needs and filling my buckets, rather than everyone else's buckets, that I didn't have any of the textbook syndromes of PMS.

Now, after a crazy year, not sleeping as well as I could, and other factors adding to my overall stress, all those symptoms are back.

But PMS doesn't have the same meaning for me anymore - all these symptoms are a reminder that I'm putting myself second and if I want the symptoms to stop, I have to rebuild that loving relationship with myself. Won't you join me on a path to a symptom-free life?

Hello dear listeners.

Have you ever had that feeling of belonging? Of coming home and realizing that you can just be you? For the longest time, I had no idea what that felt like, but slowly as I chipped away the masks and personas I had built around myself, I was able to listen to be my heart and find a place that felt more like home than anywhere I had ever been.

Now it doesn't have to be a physical place. It all starts within YOU.

So if you're feeling a little lost, look within and start asking yourself some questions. If you are open and honest with yourself, you'll find the answers that will lead you back home.

Join me today as I talk about the importance of taking a mental break. Yes, even with all of my tools and self-love practices, I can still get overwhelmed and stressed out. When that happens, I have to just unplug from everything. Take a walk, focus on my breath, and just be for a time.

It can be challenging to slow down if you've been go-go-go for a long time, but like with everything else, with practice it gets easier.

If your mind is overwhelmed or stressed for too long, it starts to suffer. You won't be as good at remembering something, or absorbing new information - basically, you aren't you anymore.

So take that break. You mind, soul, and body, will thank you.

As a people-pleaser, I felt like I had to always be "on" - always trying to present myself as perfectly put together - and that was extremely draining... worse, I wasn't really "me". I was what other people wanted me to be.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be positive and meeting life head-on - but if you are forcing it - it's time to tell someone how you really feel.

When you are honest with yourself and realize that you don't have to be "on" all the time, you can give yourself time to reflect and grow.

Despite being an Empowerment Coach, developing and using a variety of self-love and self-care tools, and wanting nothing more than to help YOU be your best-self, sometimes I don't feel like my best-self either...

I'm getting better at noticing that though, taking a step back and examining my "tree" - which has branches for the Social, Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Mental, Pleasure, Sensory, and Support aspects of my life.

If so, I'm here to remind you that it's ok to feel this way.

It's so important to remember that if you don't feel good, or less empowered, you don't have to ignore or push down those emotions - share them, like I do today with you - in a place where there is no judgement, only love.

One of my favourite sayings related to control is "You can't control the wind, but you can adjust your sails".

I used to have a strong desire to have control over everything in my life, which, as you may have guessed, isn't possible. I can't control the weather, or what someone thinks of me, or how someone might react or behave.

It took a lot of time and self-improvement to realize that I always have control over my own thoughts and reactions. Once I did, things started to change for me and for those around me.

Join me today for a very honest and very real podcast where I share my thoughts and feelings about a very chaotic year.

I can get overwhelmed with parenting, work, etc. so I'm here today to say it's ok to feel that way. It's ok to just feel. And I want to remind you that you can feel happy too! You're allowed to feel happy! You deserve it!

Something I've learned though, is that part of feeling an emotion is to release that emotion.  Trying to bottle it up or ignore it just makes it worse when that emotion becomes too strong to contain anymore.

So ask yourself, "What can I do to feel better?"

Even the smallest thing you can do now will help you both today and down the road.

You can't pour from an empty cup, so take care of yourself first from a place of love, and the rest will flow.

I can get focused on the endgame, what comes next, or my ever-present to-do list, so I forget my own advice sometimes. Maybe you do too sometimes?

This podcast is a reminder to both you and me to take in those special moments and take some time for you. You'll be glad you did.

Today I'd like to share about what happened to me when my family and I were able to achieve our goal of moving to the West Coast.

Whatever your goal, once you reach it, what next?

Well, for me, I dropped a lot of the tools that I used to get me here! And so I slipped into old habits that do not serve me or the life I want to live here.

The good news is that I can pick them back up again, start practicing those good habits, and reconnect with myself. And if I can do it, then so can you! Slowly and with love, you'll be moving again within your self-love and self-care practices - and if you need a little boost, I'm here for you.

What could be a more perfect time than the New Year to pick up some of those habits and practices again?

How do you want feel? Who do you want to be? Let me help you realize your best self this year!

Hello dear listeners and welcome to 2021!

Today I would like to talk to you about manifesting your greatest life and how I can help you do that by sharing more of the story behind how my family and I picked up and moved across Canada to the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia (hint: vision boards are not part of it, but you do you!)

Many happy thoughts and well wishes to you and yours in the coming new year!

Today is the last podcast of 2020, and I wanted to share something with you that has carried me to this moment, something that I tried to live by and repeat to myself over the years. Something I had, in all honesty, forgotten from time to time.

"Dare To Live Your Dream" - well, I dared, and I'm here now, where so much of what I wanted is now before me. All because I dared, and I shared with people that could support me.

I want to be that person for you. To cheer you on, to believe in you and to help you in any way that I can.

Today I'd like to share with you the single most important lesson I learned to break the habits and mental patterns I had formed early in life that had me squarely in the "people pleaser" role for a very long time.

Once I learned this lesson, I gradually came into my own empowerment and really understood both who I was and what made me happy.

But it's not just about setting boundaries between yourself and others - sometimes it's about setting those same boundaries for yourself.

We're well into the Christmas season, and it's so very easy to get wrapped up (pun intended) in the hustle and bustle of gift giving, tree trimming, cookie baking, and all the other things that you do this time of year.

But do you recall, the most wonderful person of all? YOU!

I'd like to share today about how important it is to be checking in with yourself...about giving yourself the gift that is YOU. It can be hard to give to others if you haven't been keeping your own cup full or your battery charged.

So remember to give yourself some time, space, and love so you can continue to spread joy from within you to those around you, not just over the holidays, but all year round.

Today I wanted to share some advice about stress - advice that I should have taken myself - since I had gotten so stressed out over our move that the stress manifested in all kinds of different ways in my body.

It is my hope that by sharing this story with you, that you take the time to understand and heal the stress in your life before your body forces you to, before you have to see a doctor or worse.

Remember: You can't pour from an empty cup!

And as promised, a link to my YouTube Channel.

This time of year, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season. It's easy to get overwhelmed with to-dos and must-haves.

Today I share about what I do when I'm feeling overwhelmed. It may sound crazy, but trust me when I say that it has helped me so many times in the past that I go back to it again and again when it all feels like just too much.

So I hope it will help you too.

Join me to today as I share about different kinds of baggage, starting with the physical like old things you don't use anymore, then move to the emotional kind of baggage - stuff that can clutter up your mental space and that's not as obvious as the physical baggage lying around.

No matter what the baggage, it lingers around until you get rid of it. Physical baggage can be thrown away or you can pay someone to take it, but the mental baggage? You have to release that yourself.

Listen in as I share some self-love practices that I've used to clean my mental house.

So, is something weighing you down?

Today is the day to remove that clutter! You'll feel so much better when you do!

We've all felt this way at some point in our lives. That we are not worthy of that promotion, that new car, that person's love, etc., etc., etc.

Well, I'm here to let you know you ARE worthy enough - right now, as you are.

Join me today as share about some moments of weakness where I too felt unworthy and also moments of clarity where I understood that by releasing these thoughts I could go after the things I wanted and actually attain them - no "worthiness" required!

This week I'd like to share a bit about my own experiences in trying to make everyone happy. I'll be the first to admit that I would push my own happiness aside to make those around me happy, and the lesson I eventually learned was "if you try to make other people happy - if that's all you are focused on - you'll just wind up making yourself miserable".

Giving and giving and giving more of yourself to others can give you a sense of happiness, but it's temporary. If you can do something for you - and you alone - that makes you truly happy, then that happiness will spreads from you to those around you.

You can't really make everyone happy all the time, but you can shift your focus away from trying to please others and towards doing the things that make you happy. You'll be better able to give back to if you take care of yourself first.

Today I'd like to lovingly remind all of you listeners out there that you don't have to do everything yourself.

We live in a society with a lot of expectations on us as parents, partners, and individuals.

But we're not meant to do everything by ourselves. For me, it's been a journey of self-love and self-discovery to learn to ask for help, and even to accept it when it's offered. I need support too. I need a cheerleader sometimes too. And that's ok!

Asking for help can be the hardest thing you can do if you're not used to it. But you're not asking someone or something to "fix" everything for you, you're asking for a helping hand - that's not weakness. That's showing humility, humanity, and true strength.

Today I share some more lessons learned from our move to the Sunshine Coast of Canada. One of the biggest was discovering just how strong I really am. I wanted to call it quits so many times in those weeks leading up to our move, but I couldn't, so I had to dig deep to find the strength to push through it...

When things get tough, try to focus on the good things in your life right now, or simply look at how far you've come already! This may be hard to do in the midst of a stressful or painful time, so just remember to practice this reflection later - you'll realize that you are so much stronger than you think you are!

In this podcast, I open up and honestly talk about some of our personal "curve balls" we've experienced in the past month. I also go in to a lot of detail about our move to the West Coast of Canada - to highlight the middle part of my new favourite quote, "Change is hard is the beginning, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end".

Fair warning, I get a bit emotional, but that's not something I want to hide from you or anyone - a great way to process our emotions is to share them!

So thank you for listening this episode and every episode, and I'll talk to you again soon.

Today I talk about something that I still struggle with - and that is sometimes I'm just too serious and I forget to have fun. Does this sound like you?

If it does, don't beat yourself up about it, embrace that aspect of you, then allow yourself to let your hair down!

Or maybe you think you are too stubborn, or too much of a pushover, or ... whatever it is, you don't have to change that part of you before starting to love yourself today.

You don't have to hide. You don't have to stay small. Everything about you makes you uniquely you, so embrace who you are right now!

So last time I talked about "doing the unthinkable" but I didn't just wake up one morning and decide to do that - I had to change my thoughts and my inner dialogue first. That helped to change my life so that I could "do the unthinkable" - because it wasn't "unthinkable" anymore!

Join me today as I share how changing your thoughts can change your life - and if that sounds "unthinkable", keep listening as I guide you though some exercises that can help you change you thoughts right here and right now.

Hello dear listeners! Jody here and I apologize for missing last week and for the lateness of this week's podcast. Making one of the biggest life-changing decisions of our lives has taken more of our time and resources than we thought it would...
Join me today as I share my thoughts on "doing the unthinkable" - or what may seem to others (and even yourself!) as such at the time.

Doing the unthinkable may start out as just a dream but with a strong enough "why" you can make that dream a reality. If someone told me that we'd be moving across Canada, I'd have thought they were crazy, and now I probably seem like the crazy one!

But I'm not crazy and neither are you. When you are open to the possibilities, then even the most impossible-seeming thing can be yours!

Today I open up about how sometimes I forget to listen to my own advice - the tidbits and advice I love to share with all of you...

Last episode I talked about being comfortably uncomfortable and now I want to share about how we are moving through all the new uncomfortable bits that have come with the life changes that we've decided to make.

There's no escaping it. Change is uncomfortable...but it's in how we respond to those challenges and struggles that define who we really are...

So how do you stay focused on your goal when this new uncomfortable can at times feel even worse than the comfortably uncomfortable you're trying to move away from?

View Details

Today I talk about how I've been "comfortably uncomfortable" for a long time, and when I finally realized that I didn't have to live like that.

It's so easy to remain stuck in this state of comfortably uncomfortable - you know something needs to change, but you also know that change will be uncomfortable. So you convince yourself that you're not that uncomfortable and continue to live less than your best life.

Through my story I hope that you come to the same realization I did - that you can take charge, make the change, and move through that change to the life you want.

That's right. I admit it. I've been a people-pleaser for a long, long time and today I share how I started to shift away from that version of me.

If you're like me (or how I used to be), then being a people-pleaser means that you are trying to hide who you really are or you don't feel worthy of the things, experiences, and love that YOU deserve.

But you do deserve to be happy, to be loved as YOURSELF, not someone else you created for others. Just you. Because you are amazing.

Today I'll share a few stories where I chose progress over being perfect and how that led to some incredible, amazing things.

If you try for perfection or to get it right the first time, you won't move forward - you'll be stuck trying to achieve something that will not serve you. Focus instead on the progress
you are making, however small, in whatever you want to do, and you'll be able to look back and see how far you've come!

Hello listeners! Join me today as I reflect on the changes in our world and talk about how I felt both then and now. I'll be the first to admit that I let fear get the best of me for a time - I got caught up in the "how"s and forgot about my "why"s.

Sometimes fear can take over and manifest in our lives in so many different ways - even for me, an Empowerment Coach - fear can and will creep back into my life.

Often when we set goals for ourselves or figure out what we really want, the next step most of us take is asking "How?" - like "how do I get there from here?" or "how do I start?"
