In todays episode we open up scripture to Luke chapter 10 📖 and enter the home of Martha where we find her distracted and anxious. Looking around my home it appears I took am distracted and anxious about many things and yet if my worth is not in what I do, how do I make sense of the call God has given me? And how do I find balance in intentionally living out that call?

" For you are my lamp, O Lord and my God lightens my darkness" 2 Samuel 22:29
Here we are...in the quiet, in the stillness, with our Lord. In forgotten rooms and dusty bookshelves He finds us, and welcomes us in. You are not lost, alone, or forgotten sister. He will forever lighten the darkness, bring warmth to the coolness, and search for you though you often hide yourself in the shadows.

"And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and it's lamp is the lamb of God."
I dislike overhead lights. So this season, our home offers an escape from the bright and blaring light we have to turn on some nights. As the tree lights splash our home it offers a unique perspective on our nightly and early morning experience. As the lights and candles flicker, we feel God in a unique way. . . .
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4
God is good. In the darkness we may struggle to believe that, but do not be afraid. As the busyness of the season wears you down, lean on His rod and staff, find comfort and choose to say no to some good things this season to make room for great things He has in store for you.

Advent is a time of light in the darkness. Not only does God bring light to the physical darkness; turning night into day, but He also brings to light the darkest places within us.
