Both of these student-athletes will share their thoughts and perspective coming from two different sports to bring more awareness for body acceptance in student-athletes.

Mikah shares how we are better together and ways in which we can continue supporting men to feel safe expressing when they need help. As Sophia mentioned, National Coming Out Day was inspired by a single march. 500,000 people participated in the March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights on October 11, 1987. On this October 11, National Coming Out Day will continue to raise awareness for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, and champion the idea that homophobia thrives in silence.

Christina joins Tim to discuss her experience in the InTERPship Academy last summer. The InTERPship Academy is a 8-week paid internship program for Maryland student-athletes to earn meaningful work experience.
Last summer, Christina completed her internship at First Touch, a digital media marketing company. She is currently majoring in Digital and Media Communications and minoring in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

On this episode, we continue our "More Than an Athlete" series with Hope Lewandoski of the Maryland Terps Women's Soccer program. Hope reflects on her time as a student-athlete at UMD and she discusses how Maryland MAde has prepared her for success beyond the field.
Hope completed her final soccer season at Maryland this Fall. She graduated from the School of Public Health with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a General Business Minor, and she is currently completing her masters in Business and Management.
Hope recently started a role as an Administrative Assistant in the George Washington University Athletic Department.
