I have deeply enjoyed creating bi-weekly podcast episodes and newsletters with you; exploring themes and practices together to discover what it truly means to live a life of connection to who and what we really are. This will be my last episode for LYP. I will no longer be sending out my bi-weekly newsletter and I will keep my website accessible for 2 more weeks before taking it down. The LYP Podcast is hosted by Spotify AB which is a free platform and therefore all of my past episodes will still be available for listening to as often as you’d like.
The next step for me on my journey has been to create The Living Legacy Project. Which aims to capture individual’s stories in their own voices. We help families create audio recordings of their loved ones to have for themselves and for future generations. If you are interested in learning more about The Living Legacy Project or sitting down with us for a Life Story Session for yourself or a family member, please reach out.

In this week's episode we explore the mind layer and what it means to assume the role of "loving leader," both on and off our mats. Our mind loves to bounce all over the place, to collect information, to get lost in our sensory experiences. The mind becomes useful when we take on the role of “loving leader,” when we decide that to experience moments of calm, stillness, and clarity, we must guide our active minds back to our side again and again.

In this week's episode we explore the practice of acceptance. To accept who we are, what we are, where we are, what we have, isn’t about giving up, it’s choosing the path forward with a little less resistance, a little less judgement, and a little more allowing, a little more understanding, compassion, and grace for ourselves, for where we are in the process of growth. This episode is a reading from my bi-weekly publication of The Edge | Journal. The Edge is an exploration of a concept that I apply both on and off my yoga mat, and then share my insights and practices with you.
This week we explore the concept we hear so often in yoga classes of allowing ourselves permission. Allowing ourselves permission becomes it's own practice in shifting the way we think and approach life. As we recognize our own authority and power to choose, we cultivate deeper acceptance, awareness, and trust in ourselves. We can reinforce this mindset shift both on and off our mats with the statement "I Am Allowed to..."

This week I invite you to make an intention to daily practice a self care activity. Yoga is wonderful but it doesn’t always have to be yoga, you can choose to mediate, go for a walk, or a swim, or do something creative. Just like the dishes, your body and emotions won’t go away, they need continual moments of release to keep things flowing. Self care activities allow the same exhale and sigh of satisfaction that comes from a beautiful and clean kitchen, ready for our next delightful meal.

This episode is a reading from my bi-weekly publication of The Edge | Journal. The Edge is an exploration of a concept that I apply both on and off my yoga mat, and then share my insights and practices with you. With Valentine's Day right around the corner this week I explore the subject of "Love."
Love is a feeling to cultivate, generate, hold within ourselves, and practice. It is an emotion often trigged by people places and things but it is not dependent upon them in order for us to feel it. It is an emotion that we don’t need to wait for the world to give to us, but a state of being that we can decide to enter and bring with us into each experience, or relationship.

In this week's episode I explore what it means to "Find Your Center." It's a phrase we hear often in yoga, meditation, and in conversation about self regulation. We do a lot of talking, maybe we understand the concept in our mind, maybe we know what it should feel like based on someone else’s experience or description of it. So this week I invite you to fully participate in an experiment with yourself of what it means and feels like for you personally to “Find Your Center.”

This episode is a reading from my bi-weekly publication of The Edge | Journal. The Edge is an exploration of a concept that I apply both on and off my yoga mat, and then share my insights and practices with you. In this week's episode I explore the question of "Why?"
As we make peace with this question it begins to lose it’s scary qualities. As we courageously ask and allow it to grow with us, to become our friend, teacher, guide, and pointer, we notice its ability to bring us to a broader perspective. This question can help us to more clearly see the beautiful desires, possibilities, and dreams alive within us when we give them the opportunity to bubble up, when we have the courage to ask, to look, and to see.

In this week's episode I explore the concept to "Take Care." The things we avoid taking care of have messages for us. They want to be seen and heard by us. They are wanting to teach us something about our fear. Wanting to remind us of the things we truly value in life. Wanting to reach past the mind layer and to our soul layer.

In this week's episode I explore the concept of a Drishti, which is a Sanskrit word in Yoga meaning a "point of focus." A Drishti is a way to "Set Your Gaze" within each pose or during meditation, improving our focus, concentration, and balance. The North Star during the holiday season is a symbol of hope. As we look for ways to live our yoga practice, the stars we see scattered all around us this time of year can serve as a Drishti off the mat, to rest and concentrate our eyes and our focus upon.
