Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Mark S. Lewis has a very diverse background. After earning his BS degree in Finance from Boston College and an MBA in Marketing from Tulane University, he worked for IBM for 13 years before forming a New Orleans based Internet Service Provider (ISP). A true entrepreneur, he has started, supported and sold several successful business ventures and is the current owner of Communiqué LLC, a business coaching and consulting firm based in New Orleans.
During his ten year tenure as President of the Louisiana Technology Council (LTC), Mark assisted with the technology development of Louisiana. The goal of Give a Damn is to help people develop a greater awareness of the thoughts and actions that currently and/or eventually lead people to selfish and irresponsible behaviors. It cuts across all industries, all organizations, all nationalities—everyone. My goal is for this book to guide people toward a better mindset. We can make a difference, one person at a time. A bit more about Lieutenant Michael Ferrari...
Michael Ferrari is a New York native who enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1975 and following a series of assignments as an enlisted man was commissioned an Ensign in May of 1988. He completed a twenty-one year career retiring as a Lieutenant after serving as an Aviation Maintenance Limited Duty Officer and officer technical manager which included support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1991.
After retiring, Michael worked with Boeing Commercial Airplanes and currently works for a Federal Agency in the Aviation Industry. Michael has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Who am I? What caused me to have such a passion for my work? I’ve spent much of my life navigating relationships and the conflict that necessarily arises in them.
As part of a blended family as a child and now as an adult, I experienced divorce as a two-year-old child and now as a mother of four.
My study of conflict resolution started during my undergraduate years and continued as a practicing lawyer. My additional training in mediation and coaching is always about the possibility for agreements and how to achieve what people want and need.
My own experience makes clear that those with the most contentment in their lives usually find balance between extremes. This necessarily requires compromise and cooperation with others. However, shifting our own necessarily limited perspective can be difficult.
My current full-time work and training in transformational mediation and coaching help all of us to show up as our best selves, when we are most receptive to absorbing both the energy and ideas of others. This takes time and a willingness to embrace many modalities: coaching, mindfulness, maybe legal help, and therapy, too. I’m here to help you connect you with what you need to achieve a resolution of your conflict that works for you.

Colleen O'Neil is founder of Mediation and Beyond and speaks of ways to avoid coparenting conflicts during and after divorce. Listen as Colleen speaks to the most common post divorce conflict which is effective communication.
Colleen says learning to connect on the conflict and leaving emotions on the side provides space for solutions to be created. Living out your agreement with an effective communication plan is what really matters. Colleen addresses being a "right fighter" in divorce instead of a team player and the problems that creates. Understanding parenting styles, the ones experienced growing up and the ones we use as parents is necessary for the continued success of the family.
As a former educator she addresses the impact of divorce upon children and their education. Colleen addresses the ability to choose our response with your ex and conflict how conflict is a choice. Colleen states, "I don't think that parents are aware of their own impact and power in the home."
Lastly, she talks about the significance of self control and self regulation during and after divorce. Parents need help understanding their own parental genealogy and how that plays out in the marriage and in the parenting."Children get one childhood and it's the parents responsibility to make it a happy one."
