Welcome to the Criswell College Chapel podcast. Through each semester, the entire campus gathers for worship through song and a biblical, challenging, and encouraging message. Speakers include pastors, professors, and local business and non-profit leaders. Benji Paredes serves as Executive Pastor at Templo Betania (Bethany Temple) in Dallas, TX, where he helps lead the church by overseeing preaching, administration, and Christian Education. He is passionate about developing leaders and providing biblically grounded teaching that connects with people from all walks of life.
Benji holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a minor in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Criswell College.
Dr. Barry Creamer has served as president of Criswell College since 2014, after spending a combined 10 years as both a member of the faculty and as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. A trained philosopher and historian, Dr. Creamer holds a B.A. in English from Baylor University, an M.Div. from Criswell College, and a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington.
For more than 20 years Dr. Creamer pastored churches across Texas, and he continues to preach conferences, teach lay audiences, and serve as interim pastor for churches in transition. Dr. Creamer has spent over a decade hosting his own podcast, Coffee with Creamer, a program covering relevant issues in ethics, ministry, and worldview, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. His writing has been featured on numerous print and electronic platforms.
David Foster serves as the leader of The Pastor’s Common, a Millennial & GenZ network for Texas Baptists. He is a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in East Dallas and has a B.A. in Christian Ministry from Wayland Baptist University.
Dr. Bruno Molina is the Executive Director of the Hispanic Baptist Network, and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Theology, Apologetics, and World Religions at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS). He is a former Pastor, Church Planter, Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Evangelism Associate, and worked professionally as a Human Resources Manager. He earned his bachelor’s degree from New York University in International Relations & Spanish, and both his Master of Arts in Theology and Ph.D. in World Christian Studies from SWBTS.
Chad Leutwyler is a student of Master of Arts in Theological and Biblical Studies from Criswell College and the recipient of the Criswell College Preaching Award.
Joe is the Area Director with Young Life and Area Coordinator with InFaith. He has a B.A. from Criswell Bible College, an M.A. in Clinical Christian Counseling from Cornerstone University, and an M.A. in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. Joe thoroughly enjoys serving Landon and Luke's Scout Troop on adventures and local service projects in his InFaith ministry.
Dr. Terrance A. Ford is the President of Foster College (formerly Southern Bible Institute & College) in Dallas, TX—a biblical higher education institution that has been training ministry & Christian leaders since 1927.
Prior to his presidency, Dr. Ford served as a senior pastor for 27 years, leading congregations in both Florida & Texas.
In addition to the responsibilities of president & CEO, he also teaches and produces scholarship in the areas of Digital Religious Rhetoric, Bible Exposition, and African-American Literature.
President Ford holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida A&M University—a Master's of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary—and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Dr. Ford is considered a thought-leader and authoritative voice amongst leaders in the church and academia. He’s well known for delivering both biblical and scholarly content in a way that is relevant and accessible to all.
Alex has been on SBTC staff since 2013. He brings over 20 years of pastoral experience and coaching. As of January 2025, he will be serving churches, pastors, and associations as the DFW Regional Catalyst.
He is passionate about mentoring, encouraging, and coaching those called to serve the local church.
He holds a bachelors degree from Criswell College.
He can also be found announcing high school football games for Frisco ISD.
Jared Wellman is the pastor of Tate Springs in Arlington, Texas. Jared also serves as an Executive Committee Member of the Southern Baptist Convention. Jared has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (2007) and a Master of Arts in Philosophy (2010) from the Criswell College, as well as a Ph.D. in Theology from South Africa Theological Seminary (2018). He is currently working on a Ph.D. in Apologetics at Southwestern Seminary, where he also serves as an Adjunct Professor.
Mark planted and pastored churches for almost 30 years before leading pastoral initiatives at Lifeway and Guidestone for the last ten years. He is the co-founding leader of the Care4Pastors Network and the author of Start To Finish. Dr. Dance earned degrees from Howard Payne University (BBA), SWBTS (MDiv), and SBTS (DMin).
A 4th generation African, Nathan Lino founded Northeast Houston Baptist Church in 2002 and served as their Senior Pastor until June 1, 2022 when he began his tenure as First Baptist Church Forney's Senior Pastor. His ministry opportunities have taken him to more than 25 countries around the world. Nathan has served as President of the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention 2015-2017, First Vice President of the Southern Baptist Convention and on the board of the International Mission Board. Nathan became a Christian while attending Pinetown Baptist Church, in Pinetown, South Africa, and was baptized and ordained at Forest Cove Baptist Church in Kingwood, TX. He graduated from Texas A&M University, and graduate school at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC (M.Div.).
Dr. Josh King has served as Lead Pastor at First Baptist Church Lewisville since January 2024. With 23 years in full-time ministry, his passion lies in guiding established churches towards growth and renewal. This passion extends beyond the pulpit, as evidenced by his co-hosting the podcast "EST" alongside Sam Rainer, focused on equipping church leaders.
Josh resides in Argyle with his wife Jacki C. King, both proud graduates of Criswell College in Dallas. He holds a Master of Arts in Religion and a Doctor of Ministry in Executive Leadership, reflecting his commitment to theological grounding and leadership excellence. When not leading the church, you might find him spending time with his three sons, exploring the Texas Hill Country, cheering on the Longhorns, or stocking up on essentials at HEB – his (obnoxiously) Texan spirit shining brightly in all he does.

Israel Mendez serves as the Pastor and Church Planter at ACC Downtown, where he leads with a heart for discipleship and community transformation. His ministry journey began with roles as an Associate Pastor and Director of the Baptist Student Ministry at UTSA, where he mentored and developed young leaders. Currently, Israel also serves with The Pastors Common, a network focused on encouraging Millennial and Gen-Z ministers, and he teaches theology at the Zbinden Center for Biblical Leadership, equipping students without formal ministry backgrounds to serve effectively in the local church. A graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Israel combines his academic training with his deep connection to San Antonio—a city known for its rich culture, including the Spurs and Tejano music. He is married to his wonderful wife, Sarah, and is a proud new father to Murphy Mesa Mendez, embracing both family and ministry with passion.
John-Travis Smith grew up in Royal Ambassadors, where he earned the Legion of Honor Award and has served Texans on Mission in a variety of capacities, including as vice president for finance and a member of the Texans on Mission Forever Foundation board.
He also was pastor to young adults at First Baptist Church in Bryan since June 2013. Previously, he served 11 years at First Baptist Church in Hempstead, first as youth minister, later as associate pastor and eventually as interim pastor.
Texans on Mission Associate Executive Director/CFOO Smith manages overall financial operations, oversees the office staff and updates policies and procedures in areas ranging from accounting to human resources.
Smith earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Texas A&M University and his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Kevin Norvell is an accomplished educator and administrator with over two decades of experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, and student mentorship. He holds a Doctorate in Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce, along with multiple Bachelor's degrees in Basic Bible, Biblical Counseling, and Organizational Management, and a Master’s degree in Training and Development.
Currently, Dr. Norvell serves as the Director of Educational Programs for Voice of Hope Ministries (VOH), where he is dedicated to creating impactful educational experiences for diverse learners. In addition to his role at VOH, he has contributed to the field of pastoral care as the senior Pastor of Redeemer MBC-Lancaster, where he provided spiritual support and leadership.
While in his current roles, Dr. Norvell serves as the moderator of the Dallas Regional Missionary Baptist District Association, offering leadership to a number of pastors and their congregations. His earlier career included significant teaching experience across various educational levels, including community colleges, junior high, high school, and seminary, where he has inspired countless students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Pastor Caleb M. Turner graduated from John D. Horn High School in Mesquite, TX. He received a track and field scholarship and attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Ok. Prior to graduating, Pastor Caleb enlisted in the U.S Air Force where he served in the Air Force Special Operations Command while stationed at Hurlburt Field, Fl. He also had the opportunity to serve his country while stationed at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.
He served in the Youth/Children’s ministry at various churches during his stay in Florida. Upon completing his active duty commitment, he attended Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL, and earned a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies.
Upon graduation he returned to Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church where he served in the roles of Equipping/Teaching Pastor, Assistant Pastor and Co-Pastor. In 2023, he became the Senior Pastor of Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church.Pastor Caleb has served in various roles within the Southern Baptist Convention. He is currently a trustee for the North American Mission Board and chairman of the executive board for the SBTC, becoming both the youngest to ever serve as chairmen as well as the first African-American. He has also established several initiatives within his ministry to reach and assist others. preached numerous revivals, spoken at FCA meetings, and is called to mentor young men.
Samuel Hagos [pronounced HAH-gogh-s] serves on the Pastoral staff of Progressive Baptist Church of Chicago. He is a 2019 graduate of Criswell College, where he earned a BA in Biblical Studies. In 2022, he earned a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham, AL, where he was also selected by the faculty as the Fall 2022 recipient of the James Earl Massey Preaching Award. Samuel is native of Dallas, TX, and has been preaching since 2016.

Dr. Rolando D. Aguirre is the Associate Pastor of Teaching and Spanish Language Ministries at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where his life and work are devoted to Christ and the advancement of His kingdom. Known for his deep passion for discipleship, teaching, preaching, leadership development, missions, and community service, Dr. Aguirre brings a rich ministerial background to his role. Originally from Colombia, he has served in church planting, youth ministry, social work, missions coordination, outreach, and leadership development across Texas and Latin America. He is the visionary founder of Calvary en Español at Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, Texas, a ministry making a profound impact along the Texas-Mexico border.
A respected leader, Dr. Aguirre served as First Vice President of the Convención Bautista Hispana de Texas (CBHT) from 2014 to 2016 and as President from 2017 to 2019, representing and guiding over 1,100 Hispanic churches across Texas. He is the creator and host of Descifrando Enigmas ("Decoding Enigmas") on Televisa and Un Tiempo de Esperanza ("A Time of Hope") on Channel 5.2, two impactful television programs that reached audiences along the Rio Grande Valley and the Mexican border. Currently, his weekly sermons are featured on Telemundo 39 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, furthering his reach in the Spanish-speaking community. Dr. Aguirre also founded and authored Un Minuto con Dios ("A Minute with God"), a daily devotional podcast and book that is widely cherished among Spanish speakers for its inspiring, accessible messages. He frequently writes and speaks for magazines, church networks, and nonprofit organizations and serves on various boards, where he dedicates his time to cultivating leaders, individuals, and organizations.
Since joining Park Cities, Dr. Aguirre has overseen the launch of two Spanish-language satellite services in Dallas. These include one in the multicultural Vickery Meadow area and another in partnership with the Buckner Family Hope Center in the Bachman Lake community.
Dr. Aguirre is a lifelong learner with a commitment to theological and pastoral education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Baptist University of the Américas in San Antonio, Texas, a dual Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and Human Relations from Liberty University in Virginia, and a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University in Dallas. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Applied Theology at Midwestern Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.

Stephen Barton is a Master of Divinity graduate of Criswell College who is the recipient of the Criswell College Preaching Award for the class of 2024.
Julio Guarneri was born in Mexico City and grew up in Monterrey, Mexico as his
parents did evangelism and discipleship work among university students in both cities.
Guarneri obtained a B.S. in Secondary Education from Texas A&I University, Kingsville;
an M.A. in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort
Worth; and a Ph. D. in Leadership Studies with a concentration in ministry from Dallas
Baptist University, Dallas. His dissertation, “COMIBAM 1984-2000: A Historical
Analysis of a Majority World Missionary Sending Network” was recognized by the DBU
faculty as the most distinguished dissertation in 2014. The dissertation has also been
published by the Evangelical Missiological Society.
Dr. Guarneri was licensed to the ministry and pastored his first church shortly
after High School graduation in 1984 in Freer, Texas. During his 39 years of pastoral
ministry he has served churches in the Corpus Christi area, Fort Worth and McAllen.
Guarneri is the current Executive Director for Texas Baptists, a role which he will began
on November 30 of this year.
He most recently served as the Lead Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, McAllen
where he served for 13 years. Before going to McAllen he served as the Pastor of Iglesia
Bautista Getsemani in Fort Worth where he served for 17 years.
Julio Guarneri served on the board of Buckner International for nine years,
including serving as vice-chair for two years and as the chair during 2023. He was
elected twice as president and as first vice-president of Texas Baptists. In the past he
also served as chair of the Stark College and Seminary board and as moderator of the
Tarrant Baptist Association. Dr. Guarneri has spoken in seminary and university chapel
services as well as for graduations, and pastors/leadership conferences around the
state. One of his greatest joys has been speaking to gatherings of pastors in the
Philippines for multiple years about making disciples.
Guarneri’s passion is to make disciples who make disciples, living out a holistic
mission that brings the gospel to bear on the whole person and the whole community
for the whole world. He has had the privilege of sharing this passion in Texas, Mexico,
Colombia, Argentina, Spain and the Philippines.
Dr. Steven Sanders has been an adjunct professor of New Testament and Greek at Criswell since 2020. He now serves as the full-time Assistant Professor of New Testament and Greek, as well as the Program Director of B.A. in Christian Ministry. Additionally, he holds the position of adjunct professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. Dr. Sanders earned his master's degree in Pastoral Leadership and his doctorate in New Testament Studies from DTS. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, he relocated to Atlanta to attend college at Georgia Tech.
Todd Kaunitz is the Lead Pastor of New Beginnings Baptist Church, located in East Texas. Since his arrival in 2010, God has moved in a gracious way, allowing New Beginnings to baptize more than 2,200 people. The church has grown from an average of 450 in weekly worship attendance to three campuses and more than 2,750 people. Todd is a Pastor, conference speaker, and consultant who is passionate about leading people and churches to pursue God's presence through prayer. A graduate of East Texas Baptist University, Todd and his wife, Adrian, have been married for twenty-two years and have three children.
Reverend Cokiesha Bailey Robinson is the Founder of Cross Spring Ministries, an itinerant ministry of preaching & publishing and she is the first African American Dean at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. She serves as Associate Dean of Diversity.
Becoming & belonging, justice & Inclusion are her passions as she strives to help all students feel loved, seen, prepared & affirmed. She also is passionate about racial reconciliation & advocating for students of color to have a voice, a place, belonging, equality & equity.
She is the wife of Rev. Timothy Robinson, her seminary sweetheart. Both are 2007 Master of Divinity graduates of Beeson and enjoy serving God’s people uniquely.
Cokiesha serves as an advisory member at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, AL, is a graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, TN, and is currently a doctoral student at Truett Seminary at Baylor University In Waco, TX.
Cokiesha is a national Bible teacher, conference speaker, and minister of the gospel but being a godmother, aunt, and mentor are her favorite jobs.
She worked in the field of radio and newspaper and also enjoyed a rewarding career supporting church staffs. She is a daughter of Concord Church where she served in ministry with her parents, founding Pastor, Dr. E.K. Bailey, and Dr. Sheila Bailey for more than 25 years.
She was licensed to preach the gospel at Concord Church by her late father, Dr. E.K. Bailey, and Pastor Bryan Carter in 2003 and she was ordained by Dr. J.M. Green at Mt. Neboh Church in Harlem, NY in 2010 where she served as Assistant Pastor.
Cokiesha served in ministry under the leadership of Dr. A.B. Sutton at 6th Ave Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL, and feels like a surrogate member & spiritual daughter of Living Stones Temple in Birmingham. She served on the pastoral staff of Concord Church as Director of Growth after seminary with Pastor Bryan Carter, one of her fathers in the ministry, and attributes her professional growth to pastors who have invested in her life. In 2015 she launched Cross Spring Ministries. In recent years she has traveled full-time as an evangelist and gospel minister serving churches, conferences, publishing houses, and seminaries. She has also found great pleasure in teaching students in middle school and high school as well as being a mentor to college students and seminarians.
Known by some as Rev. Robinson and by others as Mrs. Robinson and now as Dean Robinson, Cokiesha has contributed to nearly 10 books and co-authored 2 books. She is also a contributing writer for Our Daily Bread and still enjoys traveling to share the gospel despite a new role on her professional journey.
She was named 2020 alumnus’ of the year for Beeson Divinity School and attributes Beeson to helping her to find her footing and focus in her life calling as an adult in ministry.

Cokiesha has served as a missionary in Africa, Turkey and Jamaica, and throughout the United States. She has a heart for evangelizing, preaching, leading leaders, encouraging students, equipping disenfranchised communities with fresh water, and building racial bridges for people with dignity. Seeing people come to know Christ, and discovering their purpose and voice in Him are her greatest passions, as well as helping others to value the diverse heritage & perspectives of all people made in the image of God.
Family, friends, ministry, mentorship, writing & higher education are her great loves & gifts of grace.
In her free time, Rev. Robinson enjoys traveling, concerts, cooking, meeting people & cheering for the next generation of leaders & preachers.
Dr. Bart Barber has served as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas, since 1999. At the SBC Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California, June 14-15, 2022, Bart was elected President of the Southern Baptist Convention. A native of Lake City, Arkansas, Bart has served churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. He has earned degrees from Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, culminating in a PhD in Church History.
Dr. David S. Ritsema has served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Waxahachie since 2012. He has taught on the faculty in the Graduate School of Ministry at Dallas Baptist University, the Doctoral of Ministry at Truett Seminary at Baylor University, and as a Resident Fellow at B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary, where he also serves on the Board of Governors. He holds a B.A. in Christian Ministry from East Texas Baptist University, an M.Div. in Theology from Truett Seminary, and a Ph.D. in New Testament from B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary. He has been serving in church ministry since 1997, including five pastorates in Texas. He regularly writes for GC2 and has authored a book titled Fear
Dr. Kevin Warstler received his Th.M. in New Testament Studies and Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament at Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, where he is also the Program Director for the B.A. in Biblical Studies.

Winston Hottman has been a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church since 2015 and has been blessed to serve as Associate Pastor since October 2022. Prior to that, he served as Chief of Staff at Criswell College in Dallas. Winston's passion is to minister the word of God through preaching, teaching, and personal discipleship. In addition to his general pastoral responsibilities, he oversees a small group and children’s ministries, as well as the discipleship of new believers. Winston is currently working on a doctoral dissertation in the field of early Christian studies and hopes to graduate in May 2024.
Kennedy Young, Jr. assumes the role of Lead Pastor at East Gate Missionary Baptist Church, situated in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. He serves as a source of inspiration and support for the people of God's congregation and the Oak Cliff community. He possesses a bachelor's degree in pastoral ministry from The Criswell College, located in Dallas, Texas. Furthermore, he holds a master's degree in Ministry from Clamp Divinity School, situated in Anderson, South Carolina. Dr. Katie McCoy serves as the Director of Women's Ministry at Texas Baptists. She holds a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Southwestern Seminary (TX), where she was a faculty member for five years. Katie's research focuses on the patterns of justice for women in Old Testament laws, as well as the intersection of theology, gender, and women's studies. She is the author of "To Be a Woman: The Confusion Over Female Identity and How Christians Can Respond" and co-author of "Humanity," part of the Theology for the People of God series. Katie is a political news enthusiast and frequently contributes to WORLD Radio’s Culture Friday.
Dr. Christopher Graham is Vice President of Academic Affairs and professor of theology. His academic research is focused on early Christian theology and biblical interpretation as well as evangelical and Southern Baptist theology. He and his family have been residents of southeast Dallas for over 20 years. He and his wife have been married for twenty-six years and have three adult children.
Pastor Jason Paredes came to Fielder in 2005. In August of 2016, he humbly assumed the role of Lead Pastor of the church, a role he hopes to fill for the next 30 years! He's from Oak Cliff, married since 2001 to his wife, Virginia, and the father of five daughters and one son.
For Dr. Jeffery Campbell, preaching is the passion that drives all aspects of his ministry, and he is humbled and blessed that the Lord would allow him to preach the Word and teach other preachers to do the same.
Dr. Campbell is a two-time Criswell grad with a B.A. in Biblical Studies and an M.A. in Ministry. He also earned his Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he majored in Preaching and Pastoral Studies.

A trained philosopher and historian, Dr. Creamer holds a B.A. in English from Baylor University, an M.Div. from Criswell College, and a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington.
For more than 20 years Dr. Creamer pastored churches across Texas, and he continues to preach conferences, teach lay audiences, and serve as interim pastor for churches in transition. Dr. Creamer has spent over a decade hosting his own podcast, Coffee with Creamer, a program covering relevant issues in ethics, ministry, and worldview, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. His writing has been featured on numerous print and electronic platforms.

Dr. Ty Kieser is the Assistant Professor of Theology and Program Director of M.A. in Theological Studies at Criswell College Dr. Kieser earned his Ph.D. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College in 2020. Prior to that, he earned an MDiv. and an M.A. in Systematic Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has served as Guest Assistant Professor at Wheaton College since 2020. Dr. Kieser has already published and presented extensively within his areas of research: Christology, trinitarian theology, post-Reformation theology, and theology of the atonement.
Dr. Timothy Fuller is the Evangelism Lead - African American Evangelism for Texas Baptists. Dr. Fuller earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In the spring of 2018, he earned a Ph.D. in Homiletics from Southwestern Baptist Seminary; the first African-American to graduate from the School of Preaching.Dr. Fuller has been an adjunct professor at Southern Bible Institute and College in Dallas Texas and at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has conducted numerous workshops and seminars, locally, nationally, and internationally in Hermeneutics, Expository Teaching and Preaching, and Apologetics. He has taught Bible classes in the Philippines, Dominican Republic, and in India. He served as interim pastor at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Euless Texas and has served on several Texas Baptists church staffs. We are excited to welcome Dr. Fuller to our team.
Dr. Rolando Rodriguez's heart’s desire is to Love God with all his heart. To love, take care, and provide for his family, and to help individuals, churches, and organizations reach their God-given potential for the ongoing Kingdom Work. Dr. Rodriguez holds dual Master's degrees, one in Global Leadership and the other in Christian Education, both earned at Dallas Baptist University. He also holds an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Baptist University of the Americas and is currently in pursuit of a Doctorate in Ministry at Midwestern Theological Seminary.Currently, Dr. Rodriguez serves as the Senior Director of Texas Baptist en Español and has served there since 2007.
Criswell College hosted a Hispanic Heritage Month Panel where Hispanic pastors had the opportunity to discuss the significance of education and its close relationship with the church. Jeff grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is the Senior Pastor at the Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. He studied illustration and graphic design as an undergrad and has a Master’s degree in Theology and a Doctorate, with a focus on Christian apologetics. He’s a pastor, speaker, author, and artist, who has a singular message of God’s amazing grace. He is a champion for biblical justice and seeks to unite the Church across racial, economic, and cultural lines, in order to see a Gospel Movement across DFW, our nation, and the world. He passionately explores the intersection of faith and culture as he helps raise up the next generation of Christian leaders. He loves helping guide PCBC to lead all generations to love Jesus.
Dr. Warstler received his Th.M. in New Testament Studies and Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament at Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, where he also serves as the Program Director for the B.A. in Biblical Studies. Dr. Scott Camp has a unique blend of life experiences that give him a powerful relevant ministry to reach the unreachable with the message of Christ. He was the product of a teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, and a broken home. His own drug and alcohol abuse led to a felony charge and he was arrested while in high school. It was there that Scott committed his life to following Christ and shortly thereafter was called to preach. Dr. Camp has served in a variety of capacities since entering vocational ministry in 1982, including student pastor, evangelist, church planter, college professor, and Dean of Students. He has been the Sr. Pastor of four growing congregations which include First Baptist Church of Sachse, TX; Metro Church of Garland, TX; First Baptist Church of Mansfield, TX; and most recently, Fellowship of Joy in Grand Prairie, TX. Dr. Camp now travels extensively throughout the United States, Eastern Europe, Mexico, South America, Pakistan and the continent of Africa preaching at churches, city-wide crusades, and conferences. He has been featured as a program guest with the Billy Graham Crusade. Dr. Camp currently serves as the Faculty Chair of Evangelism at SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary in Oakland, CA.Dr. Camp holds a Masters of Arts in Theology from Criswell College, graduating Summa Cum Laude. In addition, he holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and a Master of Theology Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2007, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, FL. In addition, Scott has done doctoral studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Baylor University and Southern Evangelical Seminary.
Tamiko Jones has been the executive director and treasurer for the Woman’s Missionary Union of Texas since November 2017. She is the first African-American to hold the top administrative position at Texas WMU in its 137-year history. Jones earned an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C., a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dallas, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education degree from Dallas Baptist University. She is a doctoral candidate in DBU’s Gary Cook School of Leadership.
Dr. Steven Sanders has been a professor of New Testament and Greek at Criswell since 2020. He is also an adjunct professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He earned his master's degree in Pastoral Leadership and his doctorate in New Testament Studies from DTS. He grew up in Jackson, Mississippi but moved to Atlanta to go to college at Georgia Tech.
Dr. Matt Henslee serves as the associational missionary of the Collin Baptist Association and as one of the pastors of First Baptist Church Farmersville. Matt earned his undergraduate degree at Dallas Baptist University and pursued graduate work at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received an M.Div. and D.Min. in Church Revitalization. In addition to over two decades of ministry experience, Henslee has served Southern Baptists in several capacities. He previously led Mountain Valley Baptist Association’s church planting efforts and served the Baptist Convention of New Mexico as the 1st vice president from 2020–2021. More recently, Dr. Henslee served as the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Pastors’ Conference in 2022 and on the Leadership Council of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. Dr. Henslee aims to encourage pastors in the trenches of gospel ministry and serve well as a pastor, associational missionary, professor, church revitalization consultant, author, recording artist, and podcast co-host of "Not Another Baptist Podcast". He has eaten a waffle every day since February 28, 2013.
Ralph Emerson is a pastor, speaker, and author. With a dynamic voice and captivating delivery, he has been able to reach thousands of people with the message of the gospel of the Kingdom. Ralph’s ability to be biblical, practical, as well as culturally and generationally relevant has opened doors for him to speak across different platforms nationally.He graduated from Florida A&M University with a BS in Business Administration and is currently pursuing theological studies at George W. Truett Theological Seminary.He announced his call to preach on July 15, 2001, and began his preaching ministry on October 21, 2001, under the leadership of his father, Pastor Ralph W. Emerson Jr. of The Rising Star Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. There he served as youth and young adult pastor, Executive Pastor of Next Generation Ministries, and church Executive Pastor.In addition to serving at Rising Star Baptist Church, Ralph served at CityGate Church in Burlington, North Carolina as the Executive Pastor for 5 years and as the Senior Pastor of Impact City Church in Odessa, TX, for almost 2 years.He spearheaded the Community Relations Committee alongside the Burlington, NC, chief of police, implementing a new training module for the police department, and developed a youth violence task force.He is currently the Associate Director of the Cooperative Program for Texas Baptists and the Senior Pastor Elect at Rising Star Baptist Church.

This year’s recipient of the Criswell Preaching Award is Jeremy Williams. Jeremy will be graduating with his B.A. in Christian Ministry this spring. He is the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care at Concord Church in Dallas, TX. Jeremy is an extreme foodie and enjoys playing racquetball, hunting, and just being with his family.One of his greatest passions is seeing God’s people reach their potential in Christ. He delights in taking an active part in God’s work in his life and others through leading, teaching, and preaching. He and his wife Marquie are the proud parents of three children, Kari, Niah, and Herman.

Dr. Kirk Spencer currently serves as the Senior Associate Professor of Science and History at Criswell College. He holds two degrees in the geological sciences as well as postgraduate work in science, history, the humanities, and theology. He has taught in various disciplines at Criswell College for over 36 years and at many other educational institutions, including Dallas Christian College, Arlington Baptist University, and SMU. Dr. Spencer has presented seminars in the areas of science and theology, biblical archeology, and modern culture.
Pastor Brad Patterson is the lead pastor at FBC Lavon. He has been married to Carissa for 12 years, and they have three sons: Judah, Knox, and Ezra. He graduated from Criswell College in 2012 with a BA in Biblical Studies.
Dr. David Lowrie, Jr. is the senior pastor at FBC Decatur. With more than forty-one years of pastoral experience, he hasserved churches in the Dallas area, Wisconsin, Canyon, and most recently, El Paso. Dr. Lowrie is the past president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas and is serving his third term on the Board of Trustees at Howard Payne University. He holds a B.A. from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Divinity from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN.
Dr. Jared Wellman serves as the senior pastor of Tate Springs Baptist Church. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from Criswell College in Dallas, Texas, and a Ph.D. on the subject of Heaven at the South African Theological Seminary. He is also a Ph.D. student at Southwestern Theological Seminary in the field of apologetics. In 2012, he published his first book, The Church Member. In his free time, Dr. Wellman enjoys writing, following the NBA, and spending time with family.
Sergio Ramos is the Church Engagement, Institution, and Denomination Initiatives Leader for Buckner International, developing and implementing engagement strategies for assigned churches, organizations, and institutions. He has worked for Buckner since 2008, and prior to his current position, he served as the Regional Director for International Operations in Russia, Albania, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras.
Mr. Ramos holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from East Texas Baptist University and has obtained his Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a second Master’s in Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.
Dr. Danny Akin is the sixth president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been serving in the role since 2004. He is an advocate for international missions and expository preaching, as well as the author of numerous books. Dr. Akin received a BA in Biblical Studies at Criswell College, an MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Akin served as a Professor of New Testament and Church History and Dean of Students at Criswell College. He also served as the Academic Dean at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Andrew Hébert is the lead pastor of Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. He is the author of Shepherding Like Jesus: Returning to the Wild Idea That Character Matters in Ministry. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Criswell College and a Th.M. and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Hébert has served as a leader in Southern Baptist life in various roles, most recently as a member of the SBC Sex Abuse Task Force. Dr. Hébert and his wife, Amy, have four children: Jenna, Austin, Mackenzie, and Brooklyn. Among other interests, Dr. Hébert is an avid reader and enjoys hunting, traveling, SCUBA diving, and developing young men as a baseball coach.
Dr. Terri Moore holds a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi College as well as a Masters of Theology and Ph.D. in New Testament from Dallas Theological Seminary. She serves as Assistant Professor of Greek and New Testament at Criswell College, and her book, The Mysteries, Resurrection, and 1 Corinthians 15 is available from Lexington Press. In her free time, Dr. Moore enjoys traveling and other adventures with her family, spoiling her dogs, and reminding her students to read their syllabus and check their Canvas page.
Dr. Mark Jones is the State Director for Texas Baptist Student Ministry (BSM). He has served with BSM for 27 years, including 21 years in Tyler, working with Tyler Junior College and UT Tyler.
Mark grew up in San Antonio and came to Christ through a campus-based high school ministry (Youth for Christ / Campus Life). He attended Baylor University (BA in English & Religion) and sensed a call to full-time ministry. Mark continued his education at both Southwestern Seminary (M.Div.) and Samford University/Beeson Divinity School (D.Min.).
Dr. Ellis Orozco joined First Baptist Church of Richardson in 2009. Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Orozco graduated from Texas A&M in engineering, holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate from Truett Theological Seminary. In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Orozco has preached at events across the country and served on mission trips around the world.
Dr. Everett Berry is a native Texan born and raised in Fort Worth. He did his undergrad at Arlington Baptist College. He received his MDiv from Criswell College in 1998 and his PhD in theology from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY, in 2003.
He’s been married to Tabitha for 30 years. They have a daughter, Elaina, who graduated from ETBU, and a son, Brian, who works at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
He started teaching at Criswell in 2004 and has served as the editor of the Criswell Theological Review since 2012.
Reverend Dr. Michael A. Evans, Sr. was elected Mayor of the City of Mansfield, Texas, in December 2020. He is the proud pastor of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield where he has served for more than 30 years.
Mayor Evans received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Pre-Law) from the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his Master of Divinity degree from TCU. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Baylor University, where he has also served as a member of the board of regents for the university.
Mayor Evans was elected to the Mansfield Independent School District Board of Trustees for three terms, serving from 2007 to 2016 including two years as board president. He also served as an administrator with the Tarrant County College District, with coordination and oversight responsibilities for the district’s ESL and Adult Basic Education Centers. He was a member of the TCC Board of Trustees from 2016 to 2020.
Born the oldest of six children and a native of Houston, Mayor Evans has been married to Mrs. Lisa C. Evans, his high school sweetheart of more than 34 years. They have two adult children and a beautiful granddaughter.
Bill Watson serves as Senior Pastor of Lake Highlands Baptist Church in East Dallas. He is a two-time graduate of Criswell College and served on the college’s staff from 2008 to 2020. He and his wife have four children and live in Lake Highlands.

In May of 2017, Dr. Tony Wolfe joined the staff of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, where he is now the Associate Executive Director. Before working with the state convention, Dr. Wolfe served Southern Baptist churches in Texas and Louisiana for 18 years in the areas of Worship, Education, Christian Counseling, and the Pastorate. He holds degrees from Lamar University, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Wolfe has authored several books, including "Going Social," "Seven Things You Must Do to Be an Effective Small Group Leader," "Mile Markers: Stages of Growth Along the Journey Toward Spiritual Maturity," "Be Encouraged: For Pastors and Wives," "A Deacon On Purpose," and more. He is a regular contributor to Lifeway’s Deacon Magazine and several denominational media outlets.
Dr. Wolfe and his wife, Vanessa, were married in 2001 and have two sons, Ethan and Aaron. They love to fish, golf, and cheer on their LSU Tigers every football season.
David Miranda serves as Director of Church Planting Centers for Texas Baptists. He is also the pastor of The Promise Church in Dallas. David is a former church planter of West End Church in Downtown Dallas, ministering to the homeless and those living on the streets of Dallas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and an M.B.A. from Dallas Baptist University.
Nick Pitts serves as the Director of Communications at Atmos Energy, joining the team in November of 2019. He previously served as the executive director of the Institute on Global Engagement at Dallas Baptist University. In that role, he penned op-eds for publications such as the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. He also cohosted a weekly radio show and provided commentary on various cable news outlets concerning current issues. In 2021, the Dallas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America named him one of the Top 40 under 40. Originally from Tennessee, Nick graduated with a PhD from Dallas Baptist University in 2016. He is involved with various organizations here in Dallas, including serving on the boards of Traffick911, The Hope Center, and Dallas Christian Leadership Prayer Breakfast.

Pastor Gilberto Corredera has been part of the pastoral team of Prestonwood Baptist Church since 2010. He is the leader of Prestonwood en Español, which has developed to include two locations and a weekly television show on Telemundo Dallas.
Pastor Gilberto has a great passion for reaching people who do not know the gospel and has dedicated the last twenty years of his life to preaching the gospel, planting churches, and training leaders. Before moving to the United States, he served as vice president of Evangelism Explosion International in Cuba.
Under his leadership, the Great Commission has been taken beyond North Texas, Prestonwood en Español has led several mission trips both in the United States and in Latin America.
Dr. Ty Kieser is the Assistant Professor of Theology at Criswell College. Prior to coming to Criswell, he taught and studied theology at Wheaton College. He, his wife, and six kids live on campus and can frequently be found playing pickleball, hockey, card games, or watching a movie. As a result of living in Illinois for most of his life, he is a hopeless Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks fan. Yet, maybe it’s because of these experiences of athletic struggle that the Lord has formed him to view the Christian life as a long journey of faithfulness with, and toward, God. Academically, his research focuses on the doctrines of the Trinity and Christology (the study of who Jesus is), hoping that the church might focus on the wonder of the triune God and his beauty in the face of Jesus Christ.
Dr. David Hardage has served as Executive Director of Texas Baptists, the Baptist General Convention of Texas, for the past 10 years. He previously served as Director of Development for Truett Seminary. Dr. Hardage has also served as a pastor and interim pastor for a number of churches, most recently as interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie, Texas. He earned a Doctor of Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Baylor University. He is married to his wife, Kathleen, and they have two children, John and Rebecca.
Dr. Steven Sanders has been an adjunct professor of New Testament and Greek at Criswell since 2020 and has started full-time this semester. He is also an adjunct professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He earned his master's degree in pastoral leadership and his doctorate in New Testament Studies from DTS. He grew up in Jackson, Mississippi but moved to Atlanta to go to college at Georgia Tech. Steven and his wife Danielle have been married for 19 years, and their daughter Kate is in fourth grade this year.
Dr. Brent Gentzel is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Kaufman, TX, where he has served since August of 2000. He attended Hardin-Simmons University and majored in Bible and history, where he graduated as the Logsdon Scholar. He also received his Masters and PhD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After completing his Ph.D. course work in August of 2000, Dr. Gentzel came to the pastorate in Kaufman. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for 32 years, and they have two sons, Stephen and Ryan.

Dr. Bobby Worthington is Associate Professor of Missions and Evangelism and the W.A. Criswell/Jack Pogue Chair of Evangelism. He is the pastor of Lake June Baptist Church in Dallas (Southeast Dallas in Pleasant Grove). He served as pastor of Inner City Chapel and Dallas Life, ministering to the homeless in Dallas for 27 years.
Dr. Graham is Vice President of Academic Affairs and professor of theology at Criswell College. His academic research is focused on early Christian theology and biblical interpretation, as well as evangelical and Southern Baptist theology. He and his family have been residents of southeast Dallas for over 20 years. He and his wife have been married for twenty-six years and have three adult children.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Barry Creamer has pastored churches across Texas, and he continues to preach conferences, teach lay audiences, and serve as interim pastor for churches in transition. Dr. Creamer has spent over a decade hosting his own podcast, Coffee with Creamer, a program covering relevant issues in ethics, ministry, and worldview, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. His writing has been featured on numerous print and electronic platforms.
Dr. Creamer has served as president of Criswell College since 2014, after spending a combined 10 years as both a member of the faculty and as the Vice President of Academic Affairs. A trained philosopher and historian, Dr. Creamer holds a B.A. in English from Baylor University, an M.Div. from Criswell College, and a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington.
